>Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
That's half a good game. The platforming and puzzles were pretty fun even if mostly a little on the easy side, but the combat was absolutely mind-numbing and a complete waste of time, just a tax paid to get back to the good stuff.
>Itsuno has to course correct DMC2 4-6 months before release >Bingo Morihashi was initially a planner but his work ended up being so stressful that he was coughing up blood and getting 4 hours of sleep a night, routinely napping on lunch breaks >By the end of development, Capcom staff from a bunch of different divisions were basically thrown at the wall to get something out
DMC2's development is a fricking hellscape, and the fact the game released at all is a miracle.

IIRC the source code for DMC2 leaked in the Capcom hacks, and people tried playing with it since everyone dreams of a fixed DMC2, but the code is so spaghetti that basically just poking at it makes the game refuse to run at all.

>IIRC the source code for DMC2 leaked in the Capcom hacks
Correct, it's also worth noting a debug build of the game leaked at some point as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wu5n1gU0vis >everyone dreams of a fixed DMC2
Closest thing we have is a Cheat Engine table, haven't played it myself but it's a prettyt commendable effort from the looks of things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8iU5tw0V_U

I would like to know one day how Devil May Cry 2 looked like before Itsuno
>Original version of RE2 was 99% finished but Mikami said it was garbage and literally told Kamiya to redo the entire game. >Original version of RE4 had you playing as some BOW supersoldier with a sword in a castle but Mikami said it didn't fit RE but could be a cool new IP with demons.
Mikami is the true director of RE2 and DMC1 and you can't convince me otherwise.
With RE2 I get it, even Kamiya basically says it's more Mikami's game than his in the final product. DMC1 is more just Mikami realizing that Kamiya just wasn't a good fit for RE and told him to do his own thing which was a great decision.
Consistency>quality>quantity
releasing a bunch of good games is better than just ever releasing one and the nothing. That's why
Miyamoto>Ueda
despite Wii music
Kamiya is finally being outed as the fricking fraud he is and I'm glad. Fricking guy's shovelware studio churns out flops seemingly by the fiscal quarter and people still give him a pass because he made a 7/10 metal gear spinoff and got the sloppy seconds of a 90% finished RE2, a game made primarily of frickin jpegs.
I was wanting to make one of these for Kamiya but my templates are 3x3 (8 games) or 4x4 (12 games to account for the larger portrait) and he's only directed six games. I'd have to put Bayo 3 & Sol Cresta or wait until Project GG comes out.
Every single game in this image except DMC2 is good, MAYBE PN03 but it's more basic than bad.
Nice >Humanity
Really need to give this a try
[...]
Meanwhile I haven't made a Mikami one yet since it's way too hard to narrow his career down to 12 games since I'd want to touch on the entirety of it, so I'd need a spot for Goof Troop since that was his first notable design credit and also some of his more notable production roles since he's made an equally great mark doing that as he has directing.
They have kino artists but honestly Suda wasn't the same after Killer 7
I haven't played it myself yet but it looks really neat. Evidently it's a collab between Enhance and some Japanese art installation company which is why it's not quite like Mizuguchi's other work, since he's not quite as involved.

Itsuno has the most games I love but Mikami is my favorite game designers.
I love how shit just clicks together in his games. Like if you look at REmake1's mechanics in isolation in should be a fricking terrible game. Very limited inventory, limited resources, tanky enemies, backtracking etc; on paper its an unfun game, but take it all together and its a masterpiece. I love when games pull off stuff like that.
Personally, my favorite game on there is Wonderful 101 but I acknowledge all of its little issue and that Kamiya is probably the worst overall director. He just has really good visions for a game that need a little filtering through people with more common sense, and he's been fortunate enough to work with top-notch designers (like Hiroshi Shibata, gameplay lead on Okami, Bayo 1, and W101). I like more of Itsuno's games just because I like fighting games on top of DMC & DD, but admit Mikami is the best overall and had the most impact (almost entirely positive) on the industry. So many people owe their careers (or at least their break into more popular game development) to Mikami.
I'm 32 chapters deep into NG+ of PXZ2 (135 hours, going to be 175+ by the time I finish and do every Challenge Map twice) and I'm really considering playing Sakura Wars, Tales of Vesperia, Resonance of Fate, Valkyrie, .Hack, and God Eater. Coming into this as a Cap-cuck who only really cared about VF/Tekken/SoR/Shinobi outside of them has been an experience has been an experience. Shame it doesn't have some of the fun picks from PXZ1 like Arthur, Lady, Batsu, and the Valkyria Chronicles 3 group since PXZ1 has much worse gameplay mechanics.
The image only has directorial credits, not design credits. Itsuno would have SF Alpha 1 and the JoJo Part 5 game if it had design credits. Kamiya himself would have Sol Cresta & RE0, even more if his supervision credits counted.
Crazy that all 3 were at capvom at one point
I've always thought that Mikami doesn't look Japanese
Superior jomon genes, explains how one man could direct RE1, Dino Crisis, RE4, Godhand AND Vanquish.
Dino Crisis 1 is fricking BORING.
CvS2 and Project Justice are the best games in this image thoughever
he does look sorta like Al Pacino in that image though it may just be the lighting
i agree
based
>people memoryholing devil's turd
thanks for reminding, keke.
amazing how there's not one single good game among the 3 of them
Name a good game
karryns prison
Skyrim, Thief, Shinobi 2002 and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
>Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

KZ Manager
Is there some sort of competition for "bait thread with the worst and most moronic take of all time" that you're competing in?
>t. DMCuck
who made dino crisis 2 ?
Shu Takumi, who also did the Ace Attorney trilogy + Great Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick
>DMC2
Wasn’t Itsuno brought on at the very last second? Why pin all of the blame on him?
That's just a baseless meme everyone tells themselves to save face.
>That's just a baseless meme everyone tells themselves to save face.
It's literally mentioned in the 3124 artbook.
Post the blurb then hotshot. Settle this once and for all.
>Post the blurb then hotshot. Settle this once and for all.
Here you go gay. Hope you happy.
Finally someone posts proof.
Hopefully someone else directs DMC6. He's overstayed his welcome.

ShazamBlack folk, how do stop losing?
Kamiya corroborates it
And Itsuno has both.
Nobody cares about anything but DMC. Auto Modellista? ancient fighting games? No one.
I do and that's what matters to me.
I liked dmc4, dragon's dogma and vanquish.
Not a fan of the middle.

too bad almost everyrthing on the left is shit
>Miyamoto
He's just a gatekeeper not a game designer
dmc3 wipes the floor with anything the other two made
Miyamoto is japanese Stan Lee.

A israelite that steals credit for others people's hard work because he loved getting in front of the camera and they didn't?

he didn't even make mgr, though bayonetta is kind of a blueprint/mold in a couple of ways
Itsuno wins with Rival schools alone
Yeah I bet you play it with your friends all the time.

only the top row is good

I might as well dump the rest of these.
I should make more of them, they're nice talking pieces.
Make sure to buy his game.
Or play it on Gamepass.
Or pirate it and tell your friends it's good.
Or just say something nice about him.
Todd got brainrot from too much mobile gaming, he's obsessed with making all his games as simple as "lizard brain feel good" as possible now. Shame.
Alright - Casualized trash - Unknown
Very bad - GODD - Casualized masterpiece
Very big - Masterpiece - Casualized mess
>Casualized masterpiece
You mean
>casualized mess forcefully modded into a masterpiece
I don't know if project X zone was just a marketing tactic but it unironically worked on me. I tried Sakura Wars and God Eater because of those games

PC when?
My knees can only touch the ground
God Hand was unfiltered kino
auto modelista is a pretty neat racing game
Pic unrelated? Kamiya is a hack.
You left out a bunch of mikami's games:
-Who Framed Roger Rabbit
-Goof Troop
-Aladdin

Only itsuno made good games.
Kamiya is a fricking hack. W101 is one of the worst games I ever played.
Mikaki is ok i guess.
I had no idea Mikami directed PNO3, is it good?
meh
