Nah, potency and mitigatiion creep has made old savages a complete joke even at min ilvl. The dps checks don't exist anymore, you can unga heal most heal checks, you don't have to rely on card RNG, TP, stance dancing, etc etc. Anybody who says its the same is a filthy newbie liar.

At the time, Alex nearly destroyed the entire raid scene. There's pictures of some weeks have literally 0 raid instances spawned it was so bad. That prompted them to dial back Savage and create Ultimates.
It was very hard on release because the devs were still trying to find their stride back then. The downside is some of the bosses killed raiding because while they were hard it was also kind of miserable so people stopped and complained. These fights were actually nerfed but it was pretty late in the game. Im not talking the usual item level nerf or new expansion job change nerf that can make older content easier. Just outright nerfed.
Honestly I would just skip that and do it after being caught up elsewhere.
HW Savage used to be super hard, it still is kinda but the way classes work now has made it a little bit easier.
HW Savage was so hard, that it almost killed the raiding scene back then, since then the devs aren't trying to make fights hard, rather they want them to be fun in their own twisted way of course.

I could stomach the mostly shit, filler-filled story, the shit, samey races that are all just teenage girls with stuck-on plastic tails and ears, the world being completely pointless, instances and full of invisible walls, the PVP being so bad the playerbase pretends it doesn't exist... The list goes on. IF the combat was good, I could stomach it. But the combat is horrendous.

Problem with XIV's combat is that it's too slow, safe, predictable. Nothing matters, every class just has some shitty gimmick that very, very slightly changes the order in which you press your buttons.
At least WoW lets it's classes do unique shit in and out of combat. XIV combat literally feels like you could very easily program a bot to play it. Nothing you do matters or affects anything.

Bad mmos, sure. In WoW, if you play a rogue, you ARE a rogue. You can pick locks, pockets, sneak around, sap people, use poisons, temporarily ignore/revert all spells, etc. If you're a demonhunter you can double jump, see through walls, glide, imprison demons, use iframes, etc. A warlock can pick different summons that can actually do things, like succubi seducing humanoids, they can set teleport gates for other people, they can give people a buff that lets them revive instantly once, give people instant free mini foods... Etcetera. Every class is unique and actually DOES things, in and out of combat. You're not just sitting and doing a rotation, like in shit MMOs. And WoW's combat isn't even good, it's just that other MMOs nowadays are so braindead and shit it looks good in comparison.

WoW used to have fun stuff for classes. But now? Lol locks and pockets are useless they don't give you anything, sneaking also becomes obsolete the moment you unlock flying. Cloak of shadow is fun tho.

the gameplay in wow just feels more button mashy to me and clearing hard raids is more about gearing it. Im not saying its bad but I wouldn't call it good either. It is absolutely better for new players compared to XIV though.
I quit because the story is so awful It makes me not give a shit about a world I did care about from the old RTS games. So every zone and fight has no meaning because I don't give a shit about anything going on in it. Pretty sad when even Diablo 2 made me care enough to feel connected at least.
The combat in WoW was peak in BFA with the absurd amounts of haste you could stack masking the utter shittiness of current class design. I could barely keep my fricking eyes open leveling in Shadowlands when they took away the speed and then the story happened and I can't think of a single thing they could do to fix the utter shit they call a narrative.

The mega haste and damage potential was funny in the last patch of BFA (for PVE). In PVP it was still dragged out garbage a good amount of the time, until a tank procs twilight devastation x8 and oneshots someone.

I played shadow priest, getting over 150 percent haste and constant 100 percent crit was too satisfying, they were actually right to nerf the class like 30 percent at the start of the patch. You could do giant M+ pulls if people run devastation also the awakening portal affix was their best dungeon gimmick yet.
In PVP, since everyone stacks versatility corruptions (and items that boost verse as a proc), the damage taken was very muted compared to current shadowlands most of the time. That said you could do shit like make a 0 cooldown paladin throwing stuns 4 times in a row, having avenging wrath up constantly or make a .5 second greater pyroblast casting mage.
And the sad thing is, the story isn't THAT much better. It's just that WoW's story is so unapologetically shit these days, anything is better. But people should really not pretend XIV's silent cutscene nodding and fetch quest simulator is much better. It's 90% shit with a couple of decent to good moments. Unacceptably bad with how some cutscenes are, too. Looks like a PS2 game. As bad as... Well, WoW's. Except WoW's aren't it's selling points.
I don't get it, honestly. I really don't. People act as if the story is on par with a singleplayer game and it's really not. It's probably a moronic weeb thing, they see verbose writing and automatically praise it because they think it makes them looks smart.
WoW's "story" was only ever good in Vanilla and somewhat TBC, by that i mean world building.
The problem is no one read the quests but there is some great shit there, especially on Horde with the slow realisation how much of a problem the silithids are, at first they were more worried about the exploration league in kalimdor and laughed at the "bugs"

I'm fine with my character having a separate storyline where they are the protagonist, I can isolate that from the game world at large where my character is just a random adventurer. The DK quests were definitely the high point, but a lot of them were good. Rogue was another really good one, and also had one of the best bases. The worst was probably the Hunter quests, you just end up helping a group of hunters that didn't exist until they were invented for that questline.

Legion in general was pretty decent, artifact weapons aside, that was a stupid idea and whoever had it should be fired. They say Dragonflight is basically going to be Legion 2.0, so I'm at least a little hopeful.

I don't entirely disagree, but I do think there are legitimately just nice people. People see others being nice and they too will acclimate to the environment. Do some people exaggerate this? Absolutely, but it doesn't help you or anyone else questioning if these people are sincere or not. If they are, then you lose nothing. If they aren't, then you can assess them case-by-case and determine if it's worth something to you.

The models are actually pretty decent but the lighting engine is atrocious at the moment. When graphicsgays b***h about things in games it comes down to 2 things usually, shitty lighting, or shitty textures.
XIV has bad Textures, Aliasing, and Lighting, and if they fix 2/3 of those with the revamp Im gonna coom.
A good lighting engine can at least SIGNIFICANTLY increase your perception of the games appearance more than the other 2.

That all you got? Lalafells destroyed the nation the scholar job comes from, because at some point, they might, MAYBE, join in the war against light and dark magic, of which the lalas had the latter of, they destroyed them by using a voidsent plague that turned them all into tonberries.
The fifth or sixth umbral calamity was implied to be because of the lalafells, because they dabbled too deep into black magic and cause an apocalypse.

9.0 was very good, 9.1 is when it went to utter shit when Alex got the boot and Danuser started to go harder on the Marvel influence. Obviously COVID and internal drama left the story missing an act as well.
I liked the tough choices covenants gave you that actually mattered, i liked Sire, the quest where you escort Ysera's egg was a highlight and even Metzen gave it a shout out, PVP gear mattering again was nice, class design was an improvement over BFA, legendaries were fun and items with powerful passives like Vanilla should be a thing again (only issue was it cost gold) and Torg pre-nerf was actually a challenge, twisted corridors was top tier solo content as well.

Castle Nathria was the only good raid, and all of the outdoor content was unbelievably bad. They tried to copy GW2 masteries with the upgrade in Zerith Mortis, but they missed the mark so far it's not even in the same universe.

pvp is literal trash and a hellscape where everyone is stuck in elo hell 1400 because half the playerbase have been boosted to glad level gear without the skill to continue, so anyone else trying to rise legitamitely had to face off against shitters with several tens of thousands of hp more than them. The difference between 1 tier in shadowlands for pvp gear was more significant than the difference between the first tier and the last of wrath of the lich king. You had new players getting one shot nonstop in bgs by arena players, which both had to que for because the new gear required honor to upgrade. They still use the newer inferior matchmaking system that has made climbing rank in arena near impossible. Druids were oneshotting people at range, from stealth, to the point where the first wow tournament became a surreal joke with the best glads in the game panicking and screaming run behind the pillar whenever a team had a druid and he popped out of stealth in boomkin form. And even after all the backlash and all the issues they barely nerfed them and they were still oneshotting people last i'd seen before I quit that trash game. And that's just the pvp, and I didn't even go into depth.

I don't know where Ion got this moronic notion that the game has always been like this but that's 100% not true, gear did not use to have a fricking 20-30 ilvl difference every tier it's ridiculous.
Ilvl needs to be reduced across the board, the difference between each difficulty needs to be smaller.

in BFA they did item scaling/equalization in pvp, you had no idea what your damage actually was, or if increasing item lvl actually helped you or not. Everyone complained so in shadowlands they brought back item advantages in PVP with no hidden calculations - the damage you saw on the screen is what the opponent sees on his.

XIV does it better. scaling content up until all forms of class design and balance shatter into pieces is foolish. Better set up the system that allows players to scale down and tackle content at the intended level.
Don't turn casual story content into some ball busting madness, keep that for ultimates instead and then separate ultimates from any kind of gearing and progression. Just you and your skill versus a super well tuned boss.

It's not that he's bad it's just that modern WoW raiding sucks so much ass that there is no passion anymore. If he cared, he would try harder. This is the case for a majority of people at this point, it's the same reason WoW raiding has the lowest participation in the game's history.
Nobody raids anymore, nobody wants to raid anymore. It just fricking sucks. Most of the raids are just boring in general and every fight is so overdesigned and either significantly overtuned or undertuned for months. It's extremely unrewarding now too, you don't get shit for raiding, it's a waste of time compared to M+ and pvp.

Preach performance is declining due to his age and WoW is getting more fast paced. He got benched and his guild told him they would carry him for the next kill, they decided they didn't want to carry him and disbanded.
Now we don't know internal politics but it's possible they were pissed at preach for being a dick but either way they probably didn't want to carry a guy who was almost 40 and clearly his reaction times have slowed down.

Every boss just has 40 different abilities/mechanics now it's so overkill. A lot of them are minor and insignificant so you barely even pay attention to them, as another anon said it's just 'busywork'. They have a few major mechanics you need to look out for and pay attention to, but at the same time you have 6 different timers going off on your screen for random bullshit while the boss is pulsing out passive aoe damage and shooting 100 small missiles that do minor damage while faint grey circles are appearing on the faint grey colored floor that explode for minor damage.

Wouldn't that make every single boss fight basically the same? My favorite thing about WoW is trying to figure out how to do the rotation while doing all the mechanics flawlessly. It makes every boss feel completely different. I remember old WoW I never even thought about when to use my CDs and just hit them on CD, but now you basically have to figure out when to use them

Dunno, I feel the complete opposite of you. I used to have to plan the use of my cooldowns more carefully because they had longer cooldowns. Now every ability and cooldown is so short and tons of cooldowns get further reduced by other shit so you barely even need to think about them, just pop them asap and do it again as soon as they're up again.

I don't know what you're smoking. At least raiding gets you a unique mount that gets its drop rate lowered to 1% later, and they actually add a whole new raid every patch. All you get in m+ is a title no one gives a shit and that's only if you get top 0.1% and yea good luck with that. You're gonna be doing M+ constantly since the cutoff goes higher and higher every week. That combined with the fact that M+ is the same dungeons over and over, they add maybe 1 new dungeon over the expansion. They spend maybe like 1 day designing a new seasonal affix and then expect you to grind it every week for a frickin title.

Try out Savage/Ultimate, they are both completely different in terms of mechanics.
Normal difficulty has been to a joke for years due to the fact that a lot of story players refuse to learn their class since all they want is the fricking story.
Also it's funny that deep dungeons are basically just simple mechanics like that, and yet they are tough as hell to solo. There are more players who clear ultimate DSR than people who clear on solo deep dungeons.

Personally found the movement issues disappear when you use legacy controls. It's actually really fricking nice to have your character turn instead of back peddle as well.

FF14 on the other hand does everything else in their game world and engine very well. Mini games are fricking amazing in FF14 and feel completely natural, responsive, and snappy like the roller coaster shooter. Whereas in WoW all other non-combat gameplay tends to suck cause the engine is old and wonky as shit. Minigames in WoW feel awful, just piloting vehicles feels like total dogshit, all the minigame world quests like the beach turtles and even bejeweled all feel clunky as frick.
If any other 'wow killer' in history bothered to actually copy the shit that mattered (combat/movement feel) instead of superficial mmo bullshit WoW would have been forced to close down by now

I think the WoW raids are too hard and it breaks guilds when they wipe to Halondrus 100 times, then casual Mythic + players who do their weekly 15 (and not even time it half the time) eventually catch up to your item level anyway.
WoW has way more competition for a persons time these days, so many F2P games, streaming, netflix, etc, why waste time wiping to a boss for 3 hours when you can go watch some shit on netflix and play genshin impact on your phone.

I'd argue GW2 has a lot more going for it than most people know because it just had a crappy launch marred by 50 game design ideas that got left in the game that should've been cut like underwater combat

WoW can't even handle 40 people fighting the open world, I saw 50 vs 50 in world vs world with no lag regularly. WoW is absolute shit outside of instanced content.

Questing, and leveling in FF14, gets a harder pass because it's a bigger game with a bigger budget, and it's arguably the most recent MMO on the market that still is leading the charge.

At the time, Alex nearly destroyed the entire raid scene. There's pictures of some weeks have literally 0 raid instances spawned it was so bad. That prompted them to dial back Savage and create Ultimates.
It was very hard on release because the devs were still trying to find their stride back then. The downside is some of the bosses killed raiding because while they were hard it was also kind of miserable so people stopped and complained. These fights were actually nerfed but it was pretty late in the game. Im not talking the usual item level nerf or new expansion job change nerf that can make older content easier. Just outright nerfed.
Honestly I would just skip that and do it after being caught up elsewhere.
HW Savage used to be super hard, it still is kinda but the way classes work now has made it a little bit easier.
HW Savage was so hard, that it almost killed the raiding scene back then, since then the devs aren't trying to make fights hard, rather they want them to be fun in their own twisted way of course.

Pretty much. The combat would feel like a massive downgrade from WoW's, though. You play unreals or savage raids and it's literally just 100 variants of 'stand in this place at this time'. That shit got old all the way back in BC. I could stomach the mostly shit, filler-filled story, the shit, samey races that are all just teenage girls with stuck-on plastic tails and ears, the world being completely pointless, instances and full of invisible walls, the PVP being so bad the playerbase pretends it doesn't exist... The list goes on. IF the combat was good, I could stomach it. But the combat is horrendous.

Problem with XIV's combat is that it's too slow, safe, predictable. Nothing matters, every class just has some shitty gimmick that very, very slightly changes the order in which you press your buttons.
At least WoW lets it's classes do unique shit in and out of combat. XIV combat literally feels like you could very easily program a bot to play it. Nothing you do matters or affects anything.

Bad mmos, sure. In WoW, if you play a rogue, you ARE a rogue. You can pick locks, pockets, sneak around, sap people, use poisons, temporarily ignore/revert all spells, etc. If you're a demonhunter you can double jump, see through walls, glide, imprison demons, use iframes, etc. A warlock can pick different summons that can actually do things, like succubi seducing humanoids, they can set teleport gates for other people, they can give people a buff that lets them revive instantly once, give people instant free mini foods... Etcetera. Every class is unique and actually DOES things, in and out of combat. You're not just sitting and doing a rotation, like in shit MMOs. And WoW's combat isn't even good, it's just that other MMOs nowadays are so braindead and shit it looks good in comparison.
Its the leftover ripped-off soul from EQ, that's why WoW has some superiority over XIV in the things you mentioned. For the record I like both games but XIV bailed on its own EQ inspired game/roots with XI and idk why. So much more heart in XI and insane depth to each class

I quit because the story is so awful It makes me not give a shit about a world I did care about from the old RTS games. So every zone and fight has no meaning because I don't give a shit about anything going on in it. Pretty sad when even Diablo 2 made me care enough to feel connected at least.
The combat in WoW was peak in BFA with the absurd amounts of haste you could stack masking the utter shittiness of current class design. I could barely keep my fricking eyes open leveling in Shadowlands when they took away the speed and then the story happened and I can't think of a single thing they could do to fix the utter shit they call a narrative.

The mega haste and damage potential was funny in the last patch of BFA (for PVE). In PVP it was still dragged out garbage a good amount of the time, until a tank procs twilight devastation x8 and oneshots someone.
Didn't really play pvp in WoW. but frick I remember getting massive crits with Twilight on my BDK. I'd queue for heroics just for the chance of one shotting bosses with a VP boosted Twilight crit.
I played shadow priest, getting over 150 percent haste and constant 100 percent crit was too satisfying, they were actually right to nerf the class like 30 percent at the start of the patch. You could do giant M+ pulls if people run devastation also the awakening portal affix was their best dungeon gimmick yet.
In PVP, since everyone stacks versatility corruptions (and items that boost verse as a proc), the damage taken was very muted compared to current shadowlands most of the time. That said you could do shit like make a 0 cooldown paladin throwing stuns 4 times in a row, having avenging wrath up constantly or make a .5 second greater pyroblast casting mage.
And the sad thing is, the story isn't THAT much better. It's just that WoW's story is so unapologetically shit these days, anything is better. But people should really not pretend XIV's silent cutscene nodding and fetch quest simulator is much better. It's 90% shit with a couple of decent to good moments. Unacceptably bad with how some cutscenes are, too. Looks like a PS2 game. As bad as... Well, WoW's. Except WoW's aren't it's selling points.

The problem is no one read the quests but there is some great shit there, especially on Horde with the slow realisation how much of a problem the silithids are, at first they were more worried about the exploration league in kalimdor and laughed at the "bugs"

The DK ones were pretty good, i have never been a fan of your character being a super hero however.
I'm fine with my character having a separate storyline where they are the protagonist, I can isolate that from the game world at large where my character is just a random adventurer. The DK quests were definitely the high point, but a lot of them were good. Rogue was another really good one, and also had one of the best bases. The worst was probably the Hunter quests, you just end up helping a group of hunters that didn't exist until they were invented for that questline.
Should have been about going on an adventure with hemet nesingwary and his son, shame.

Legion in general was pretty decent, artifact weapons aside, that was a stupid idea and whoever had it should be fired. They say Dragonflight is basically going to be Legion 2.0, so I'm at least a little hopeful.

I was watching a Tarkov streamer because he was good and I wanted to pick up skills and game/map knowledge from him. The only part of it that was terrible is the story.
Covenants were good. PVP was good. Torghast was fun, the raid was good. Legendary system is good. The plethora of new leveling systems/syncing is good. Cross-faction is good.
Unironically the only reason everyone shits on it is because WoW's playerbase is full of moronic neets who don't play other games who are so deep down the sunk cost rabbit hole that they shit on every single feature and addition. They've been doing it since Legion. Torghast is the perfect example. One of the most fun gamemodes they did in a long time, lets you frick around with your class and break it with your friends in randomized dungeons for relevant rewards... They literally do nothing else but play the game 24/7, then complain they're not having fun. Anyone who's not stupidly autistic can play the game and find it fun. Aside from the pozzed and storyline shit, of course, no excuses there.
War mode was one of the best things they added to the game, along with PVP abilities/talents.
9.0 was very good, 9.1 is when it went to utter shit when Alex got the boot and Danuser started to go harder on the Marvel influence. Obviously COVID and internal drama left the story missing an act as well.
I liked the tough choices covenants gave you that actually mattered, i liked Sire, the quest where you escort Ysera's egg was a highlight and even Metzen gave it a shout out, PVP gear mattering again was nice, class design was an improvement over BFA, legendaries were fun and items with powerful passives like Vanilla should be a thing again (only issue was it cost gold) and Torg pre-nerf was actually a challenge, twisted corridors was top tier solo content as well.

Not only could not not swap them they literally limited how many times you could change your conduits, and they were class wide not spec wide meaning if you wanted to play more than 1 spec swap in a day you were fricked... and that's after you spent 100k on a fricking legendary just to play another spec. Castle Nathria was the only good raid, and all of the outdoor content was unbelievably bad. They tried to copy GW2 masteries with the upgrade in Zerith Mortis, but they missed the mark so far it's not even in the same universe.

pvp is literal trash and a hellscape where everyone is stuck in elo hell 1400 because half the playerbase have been boosted to glad level gear without the skill to continue, so anyone else trying to rise legitamitely had to face off against shitters with several tens of thousands of hp more than them. The difference between 1 tier in shadowlands for pvp gear was more significant than the difference between the first tier and the last of wrath of the lich king. You had new players getting one shot nonstop in bgs by arena players, which both had to que for because the new gear required honor to upgrade. They still use the newer inferior matchmaking system that has made climbing rank in arena near impossible. Druids were oneshotting people at range, from stealth, to the point where the first wow tournament became a surreal joke with the best glads in the game panicking and screaming run behind the pillar whenever a team had a druid and he popped out of stealth in boomkin form. And even after all the backlash and all the issues they barely nerfed them and they were still oneshotting people last i'd seen before I quit that trash game. And that's just the pvp, and I didn't even go into depth.

This is a massive issue with WoW in general that needs addressing. Stat inflation is fricking insane. I don't know where Ion got this moronic notion that the game has always been like this but that's 100% not true, gear did not use to have a fricking 20-30 ilvl difference every tier it's ridiculous.
Ilvl needs to be reduced across the board, the difference between each difficulty needs to be smaller.
Yeah no way is elo hell 1400, I can always get 1800 by myself starting with last patch's gear as shadow - usually in less than 100 games. I did disc this time around because the set bonus is good. I would say its a bit higher like in the 2000ish bracket.

in BFA they did item scaling/equalization in pvp, you had no idea what your damage actually was, or if increasing item lvl actually helped you or not. Everyone complained so in shadowlands they brought back item advantages in PVP with no hidden calculations - the damage you saw on the screen is what the opponent sees on his.

XIV does it better. scaling content up until all forms of class design and balance shatter into pieces is foolish. Better set up the system that allows players to scale down and tackle content at the intended level.

The reality is the guy is incredibly mazed by wow and seeing the main competition take over his reddit scares the shit out of him. WoW has been slowly dying for years the passion the fans had for the game and the exhaustion for how poorly the devs treat it has taken its toll and it has difficulty attracting and retaining new players. A new expansion isn't far out and hardly anyone feels hyped at all.

Preach got benched from Mythic Sire because honestly hes not very good at the game and he doesn't want to play WoW anymore because of it.
It's not that he's bad it's just that modern WoW raiding sucks so much ass that there is no passion anymore. If he cared, he would try harder. This is the case for a majority of people at this point, it's the same reason WoW raiding has the lowest participation in the game's history.
Nobody raids anymore, nobody wants to raid anymore. It just fricking sucks. Most of the raids are just boring in general and every fight is so overdesigned and either significantly overtuned or undertuned for months. It's extremely unrewarding now too, you don't get shit for raiding, it's a waste of time compared to M+ and pvp.
You have points and raiding is almost pointless right now, but Preach did get benched due to his poor performance and he acted like an entitled manchild about it.

Preach performance is declining due to his age and WoW is getting more fast paced. He got benched and his guild told him they would carry him for the next kill, they decided they didn't want to carry him and disbanded.
Now we don't know internal politics but it's possible they were pissed at preach for being a dick but either way they probably didn't want to carry a guy who was almost 40 and clearly his reaction times have slowed down.
I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind being benched for the first kill if his guild didn't disband before they even looted the boss while he was asleep
raiding is always pointless. there is no content to do except your raids, and the only reward is that you get higher dps to clear them faster.

Every boss just has 40 different abilities/mechanics now it's so overkill. A lot of them are minor and insignificant so you barely even pay attention to them, as another anon said it's just 'busywork'. They have a few major mechanics you need to look out for and pay attention to, but at the same time you have 6 different timers going off on your screen for random bullshit while the boss is pulsing out passive aoe damage and shooting 100 small missiles that do minor damage while faint grey circles are appearing on the faint grey colored floor that explode for minor damage.
Shit's just dumb and chaotic now.

Absolutely. WoW's combat feels more responsive and action-y but FF14's slower paced combat with simple mechanics and obvious tells makes for far superior gameplay in my opinion.
Wouldn't that make every single boss fight basically the same? My favorite thing about WoW is trying to figure out how to do the rotation while doing all the mechanics flawlessly. It makes every boss feel completely different. I remember old WoW I never even thought about when to use my CDs and just hit them on CD, but now you basically have to figure out when to use them

Dunno, I feel the complete opposite of you. I used to have to plan the use of my cooldowns more carefully because they had longer cooldowns. Now every ability and cooldown is so short and tons of cooldowns get further reduced by other shit so you barely even need to think about them, just pop them asap and do it again as soon as they're up again.
Currently the best way to raid is to play WoW Classic lol. That's how bad it is on Retail.

I don't know what you're smoking. At least raiding gets you a unique mount that gets its drop rate lowered to 1% later, and they actually add a whole new raid every patch. All you get in m+ is a title no one gives a shit and that's only if you get top 0.1% and yea good luck with that. You're gonna be doing M+ constantly since the cutoff goes higher and higher every week. That combined with the fact that M+ is the same dungeons over and over, they add maybe 1 new dungeon over the expansion. They spend maybe like 1 day designing a new seasonal affix and then expect you to grind it every week for a frickin title.

Yeah it lacks the randomness and most importantly actual significant add mechanics. I think something like Mythic orgazoa in BFA has more add mechanics than anything in FF14, and you also get to run down an obstacle course in the transition.

This is the kind of funny thing about WoW and FF14. The engines allow for WoW to have better feeling combat so all combat gameplay is much more enjoyable while FF14's combat is more clunky and slow so combat gameplay feels more stationary.
FF14 on the other hand does everything else in their game world and engine very well. Mini games are fricking amazing in FF14 and feel completely natural, responsive, and snappy like the roller coaster shooter. Whereas in WoW all other non-combat gameplay tends to suck cause the engine is old and wonky as shit. Minigames in WoW feel awful, just piloting vehicles feels like total dogshit, all the minigame world quests like the beach turtles and even bejeweled all feel clunky as frick.

The world vs world pvp and some of the mount ideas/related content is unique to that game. But it feels like the way they put the rest of the content together is lacking alot. They technically have 'good' raids and dungeons but noone can figure where to do them.
