No one knows how to create quality racing game AI.
Weekend Ganker is shit.
it's all about the tires. use harder compounds if you find them too easy, or softer compounds and lighter cars if you find them hard
Ask me how I know you lose single-model races against AI.
Because everyone does?
>the fricking Opel race
FRICK YOU
You know you can tune the car, right?
Pick the normal speedster (less power but lighter), slap some downforce on it, good racing slicks, a bit more power here and there without going overboard and you should be able to win it.
learn to tune
it does, in fact high downforce will completely tank your A-Spec points haul
>Fail license test
>Duffman music
the real understeering simulator
Learn to drive.
It feels like cheating playing these games with a steering wheel. Except online, of course.
it's not 'jap', it's literally how it should be. you're supposed to adjust yourself to difficulty, not have difficulty adjust to you. having this logic switched is my biggest pet peeve in forza horizon 4
>got fh4
>cool ass intro
>hell yeah let's go, game time
>selected my first car, on my way towards the journey from zero to hero
>nope, every race adjusts to your car
>literally no point in buying/tuning up a good car for singleplayer races because races are always adjusted to you exactly
>my entire grand plan of which shitboxes i'll buy before reaching the top crumbles down
>entire career is pointless now, any sense of progression is just entirely removed from game unless you're a newbie who gets better as the game goes on
>finished the game anyway, anal about it up to this day
so much potential, all wasted because someone made the game the way you would want it to be. please leave wonderful gt4 career dynamics be, you don't have to love it, but others sure will
If only the game had a way to suggest to you how difficult a race will be like a point system that goes from 1(baby mode) to 200(basically impossible) or something.
Shame about all the races with weird/mixed rosters that completely frick up the point system.
>even field of Euro touring cars
>30 points
>add ballast
>31 points
>opponents are 4 supercars and a 35hp Diahatsu that's in the roster for some reason
>1 point
>bring a truck or the fan car
>game shits itself, 200 points
Not to mention you can't see the A spec points until the race starts, and if you back out to use a different car it'll give a different opponent set which defeats the whole point.
I mean sure the system isn't perfect, for example nitro does not count towards points at all and it is one of the more cost efficient upgrades early game. On a shitbox you can just hold the nitro button for the entire race and you won't even run out, it's kinda useless on a high end car that will burn through entire tank in like 10 seconds and barely help.
isn't nitro banned from most racing irl anyway? you can kinda ignore it.
It may be but GT4 is pretty disconnected from real life racing.
the real broken tech is spoiler; max downforce on that shit doesnt affect A-spec points i think
Pretty much every racing game is like this except some rare cases.
I didn't play a lot of GT4 but for example, in NFS Shift, the Bugatti Veyron race is fricking impossible.
How does Gran Turismo 5 compare?
I only bought it for my PS3 because my local store had it for less than 10 bucks
GT5 and GT6 are pretty easy overall
Campaign mode isn't too hard but I hope your ps3 has an ssd because this game or GT6 takes literally like an entire day to install all the patches and updates and then loading times are pretty long too.
goated
>game requires a good RNG roll in order to win at all
