This game wasn't as bad as many make it out to be. Now if you were the person eyeing it as the next doom game and was hyped, yeah you got shafted. But just stumble upon this id tech demo then it was a fun tech demo, an id attempt at mad max.

The texture pop in the PS3 version is downright horrible. I played it again on PC several years later. While not horrible, I think it's just okay. I do like the gunplay and gun designs. It sounds like the game was just used as a tech demo and should of been baked in the oven a bit longer

I just tried playing this recently on pc and the stutter is unplayable. I don't remember it being this bad on Xbox 360, although it does look pretty as long as you aren't moving, so great for screenshots.

All of that while doing banter.
FYI: You can cycle animations by exiting and reentering your home repeatedly. At each reload of the map, she'll do another sexy animation, possibly the same.

Almost all of the charm for the characters comes from how well all the animations were done.

This is something people very easily forget, RAGE was designed to run on the 360, the PS3 and contemporary PCs. Only higher-end PCs really had the capacity to optimally handle megatextures. They may be common in game engines these days, but it took a generation for console/PC tech to catch up to the requirements.
I remember spending hours fricking with the config files to get the game looking and running decently enough on my HD6950 because the game shipped with broken AMD performance, and AMD drivers back then left a lot to be desired, both in support and release dates. It would've been unplayable on launch for me without easy access to the .ini files.

it doesn't use tile textures, every surface has a unique texture, actually the whole map uses a "megatexture" someone handpainted, it takes a toll in disk size and I think it's something that should have been implemented 10 years later

Scorchers. Sarah is a Lara Croft archetype, but blonde, and she chews more than what she expects, repeatedly. That's basically the plot of The Scorchers DLC. Then after you finish her questline, she decides to move to your apartment, stretch audibly in something like a half dozen different animations, show her rear at every turn, and pose in your trophy room.
All of that while doing banter.
FYI: You can cycle animations by exiting and reentering your home repeatedly. At each reload of the map, she'll do another sexy animation, possibly the same.

Almost all of the charm for the characters comes from how well all the animations were done.
When I first played the game I thought it was borderline revolutionary, but no one gave it any credit for how good the animation was, and nothing has really done it as well as RAGE since then.

I felt they might have tried to emulate it in Fallout 4 but it wasn't as good as Rage.

I really did enjoy Rage but man, I think it has the worst ending in all of vidya. Shoot a bunch of guys, press a button and watch those arks rise up out of the ground, and then the game just ends. No final boss, no epilogue, just blueballs.

These are both ps4 games, and Evil Within runs like shit. Rage is very impressive for looking good and running at 60 frames on 360. TNO actually did release on ps3/360 too and ran at 60, but looked like shit.

This is something people very easily forget, RAGE was designed to run on the 360, the PS3 and contemporary PCs. Only higher-end PCs really had the capacity to optimally handle megatextures. They may be common in game engines these days, but it took a generation for console/PC tech to catch up to the requirements.
I remember spending hours fricking with the config files to get the game looking and running decently enough on my HD6950 because the game shipped with broken AMD performance, and AMD drivers back then left a lot to be desired, both in support and release dates. It would've been unplayable on launch for me without easy access to the .ini files.
