in 2004/2005? yes, WoW was good and they both had sub fees so the only reason you stayed with RO is you were either a third-worlder playing private servers or you didn't have a brain
agreed, it has the best music of any game i've heard for sure.
one of my favorite things about it is how every monster drops their own unique card that can be put in equips. that combined with the stat system gave the game such a massive depth for builds and strategies.
one of the coolest card/equip builds i had was a vampire whitesmith:
Leveling after like 85 was mostly a completionist thing. You didn't need to be max level for content and dungeons weren't designed around it, the added stats just made life a little easier.
8x was basically the highest range all my characters got in the official servers since I would just spend all the time on pvp after the build was mostly complete.
And that's why i don't take nostalgia Black folkseriously
high rate fricks up the loot rates too much (particularly problematic with mvp cards) and makes the game moronic as a result. Rate should be between x5 to x50, my personal favorite is x20.
yeah it was a pretty crazy grind if you were playing normal rates. i usually played on mid rate private servers and it would still take a while but not an unreasonable amount of time.
Talon Tales is a good mid rate private server that is still running and pretty active if anyone is interested.
The part I liked the most about the card system is that it gives the player a reason to go back to earlier areas of the game or engage in content they wouldn't before. That did wonders with making the market and world feel a lot more lively
Actually I was playing both RO and SWG at the time of the mass migration towards blizzard's dominion. WoW was the reason every MMO degraded to absolute shit, because it was either compete with it (by borrowing heavily from its example) or die.
>terrible commerce system
learn to vend and compete >3rd is just tele + skill spam
it was like that in 2nd and first, not much of an excuse >woe is all whale2w
RMT and cashshop are problems that officials suffered from, but can be addressed in pservers, just depends if your pserver is trash or not
I wanted so much to be a blacksmith and make weapons for the community but even the best forgable weapon was inferior to stuff you could find in the game. It was pointless
for pvm they are fine if you dont have a sage to endow, you could even get a 100% chance to refine elemental weapons by reaching 130 dex luk + bless + gloria and depending on when and where you were playing oridecon got very cheap. and best of all you can build a rent through credit system, go to payon and recruit every new character, rent them cheap elementals and build a credibility between you and them so you can rent players with good credit history ever so slightly better weapons
at first you'll lose quite a lot of money from theft but after a while the players you've been successfully renting to can go back to you with many other characters and that's when you start making some real money from forging
ranking is overrated compared to getting this going on
>Play a private server >Owners "GF" GM makes an npc baby desert wolf that walks toward you if you say it's name and spawns it in the center of the main town chatting area. >Have some meme shit so every few hours every other town turns night and gets raided by monsters so you can't idle anywhere else >BARK BARK BARK hours on end >Call it's name and lure it off screen >Get banned for doing so 2 hours later
Sage/Scholar
Hydra for making money
Honestly, Orc Dungeon. It's baby's first dungeon but lots of good memories team up with people there to kill shit and explore.
Al De Baran or Payon. Both were just so damn pleasant.
>Favorite class Warlock Prof is the only accepted answer in this thread >Favorite card
Injustice. Always loved the priest in the background drooling over seeing their dicks. >Favorite farming spot
Ice dungeon 3 during events. Comfy Russian fairy genocide otherwise. >Favorite town
Hugel
High Wizard
Frilldora and Vitata/Creamy
Too many to choose but I suppose CT2 for classic comfy, I always liked Turtle Dungeon for being fun but it wasn't ever worth hunting there aside from the VERY brief time after it was added.
Aldebaran
Saved what? It was one of the most popular MMOs in the world for years and still kept being fairly popular for nearly two decades. Everything just comes to an end eventually.
If you are talking about the quality of the game it was kino up to before 3rd classes.
>be soul linker >hand around pvp >moronic ninja go for that kamikaze kill on me >misses thanks ka-something >throw a rock at 1hp ninja
the only thing i remember from pvp
More than just that, he was the only real "blogger" about RO and would report on new episodes from kRO before they hit iRO and other international servers. He had a very thorough understanding of the game and was one of the few true celebrities that the game had in its prime, he was pretty well known on the official servers and it didn't hurt that his guilds were always at the top in WoE.
Bro remember when they would interview people and give them a really cool gift when they hit level 99 on iRO? I remember reading those so many times, it was just common people (with too much time) but I was just so amazed by people with the aura.

Playing on iRO during the beta it was incredible to see second jobs. There were parties of 1st classes in payon dungeon, then you'd have a knight and priest come along and escort 6+ people through the caves to get to where Moonie was, which quickly led to them all getting wiped. Everyone had tons of respect for people who made it to second job, and there were even some famous people like that merchant who always sold a cart full of blue gems at a discount outside the geffen tool dealer.
Ragnarok Online is in full development even today. It has had major updates recently, such as 4th jobs and expanded 4th jobs.
The game itself is nothing like the original though. Cash shop and gacha are intertwined with the game's design to a point where it cannot be separated anymore, and the stacked layers of korean MMO RNG don't make it any easier.
Private servers use those official pieces and each create their own flavor of ragnarok online. More or less p2win, more or less modern or vanilla, roleplay, pk mode, whatever. Ragnarok is to MMOs what Doom is to shooters. You can do anything.
It's in "development" still but...let's be honest, it's very much at endstage MMO syndrome. A lot of pservs try to selectively choose which parts of renewal to implement, but it doesn't matter - renewal is still renewal and it would take far too much work to turn it into something worth playing.
Doddler is one of the most influential people in the history of this game. The type of guy that looked at Korean server for updates, digged up stuff in the files, did extensive testing, made tools and calculators, catalogued everything. Almost everyone who played RO extensively knew his name.
He works now for MangaGamers I believe but does the Unity Ragnarok thing on the side. He seems at least half done with it by now.
Why is this significant? Well, the RO source code has been leaked multiple times, going as far back as the betas. We can do anything we want with the server-side.
But the client has never been leaked. All we can do with it is use clients from Korea or other regions and use Hex Edits on it. This lets us do simply things such as increase the character size of whisper boxes, reduce the time it takes to fade the screen when you flywing, let you zoom out further, etc.
The guy that makes Gepard Shield has a monopoly on high-level client manipulation. He also provides the Graphics Plugin mod that adds bars for buffs, paint ground tiles when aoes are placed, makes etc. All of this used to be an external Add-on that would hook to the client but the nip that made it stopped updating. The guy then cooked it into a built-in plugin and is the only person really capable of high level manipulation of the client.
So, if we get a Unity based client for Ragnarok, it opens entirely new frontiers for what we can do with the game. We can make new windows and interfaces, buff bars, no limits on custom skills and classes, we can make 3D monsters and animations such as the WoE Guardians, you could even mod the game to be fully playable in VR. Not to mention actual compatibility for linux.
It's the holy grail of Ragnarok modding.
>Game isn't worth playing outside this mess of a client that has severe bugs since launch that can't tell you or your teammates where your character or some mob is after a hit during movement
Let me explain it to you so you understand, with a unity client and server, any and all bugs are easily fixable.
Camera can be modded to be whatever you want to be. You can create your own game. You can turn ragnarok into an EVE-like game, make your own mods, your own game, with minimal effort.
>used to play on EuphRO >had a lv 7x wizard >joined a clan >having lots of fun >word get out that the admin was using donation money to pay rent and buy drugs >all hell breaks loose >people breaking rules everywhere >they were demanding the admin's head >admin says the server is his and no one is taking it from him >few days later >Level Up lawyer contacts admin >"close the server or we'll press charges" >admin cries like a baby but has no choice >EuphRO dies
most high rates i tried were pretty bad, but i did have one that was really good. max level 255 and the server had the best PVP and WOE gameplay that i had seen in any private server.
it made it more about who could think of the best builds and less about who has grinded more.
Out of anyone they have the best chance. It will still be your average shitty P2W trash game just like his server. Also all the assets shown dont match each other.
Honestly, not entirely. RO, being anime themed, attracted its fair share of female players. If the female population at the time was believed to be 1%, then RO easily had 20%-30% of its population be female and some of them were attractive. Crazy, but attractive.
No we couldn't.
The entire iRO banning EU issue is what killed it.
The madmen actually banned accounts 10+ years old just because they were made in EU because of bullshit.
I love RO but I played it when I was a kid and I pretty much followed clan members
I tried to get into it again but (and I have this issue with multiple old-school mmos) you have to know every leveling spot/strategy for every class, what items to get and progress on, what stats to rush, what cards to farm, how to make money. It's just so much shit that nobody wants or doesn't care to share that I always drop my chars at lvl 70 something, or after a rebirth. I even remember a dude farming ifriths solo the last time I played, locking it on a specific spot in a map, but refused to share the trick
Any tips? Share your routines on a server fresh start
Getting someone to tank anubis and fund a ygg leaf addiction to abuse ygg leaf working like turn undead and having the chance to instant kill undead monsters.
I just remembered a taekwon with a super moronic build that he refused to share soloing odin 3 (including valkies) that ran leveling parties with the sole autistic condition that you stay put on 1 square and let him take all the loot.
TKM can either go max str/vit with union or 80 dex to fight skeggs, the thing he did with the space was fill the inventory with low weight items to reach the max slots (generally 100) and that would distribute the items to the next player that had open slots
MMORPGs are for young people with tons of free time to sink, tolerance for learning new things and most important, not jaded. As a kid you had the most fun when you didn't care that much about the best spots and efficient farming methods and instead just explored the game at your own pace doing what you want. Learning the overwhelming amount of info was a consequence of playing normally and having fun, then eventually getting invested enough that you were obsessed about it.
If from the get go your mindset to the experience is ''this is too much'' you are probably not in the right time of your life for this kind of game.
nah but it's more than that. There used to be a lot of people and obviously there was more socialization within the game so learning stuff as you go wasn't an issue, everyone was on the same boat and wanted to share.
Now the comunity is way smaller and the hardcore players are arrogant fricks that want to hide every little trick they learned to gatekeep everyone out of their shitty farming simulator
the community getting shit is partly a result of them aging and of the game aging as well. Time spoils everything. It's why the most fun period of any online game are the first 6 months, afterwards it's downhill.
>MMORPGs are for young people with tons of free time to sink
That honestly depends on the game. RO, being anime themed, was clearly millennial centric of a game. Games like Everquest, Dungeons and Dragons online, and Guild Wars had their Gen X crowd.
The majority of the playerbase in pretty much every MMORPG was between 10 to early 20s, with some older folks here and there. This changed now because MMO became a nostalgia genre. It's mostly played by people who have already played them in the past.
when i start a new character there are a few basic first places that are usually good to go to: prontera/geffen fields outside the city, then to payon dungeon lvls 1 and 2, then maybe orc dungeon.
once i change jobs and it gets hard to lvl, then i start looking for people to party level with. if it's a populated server you can just ask randoms you see in the same area and people usually are down to party, then there are higher level areas where parties are basically needed and solo isn't really possible for most. so you can run those basically to end game.
all of this would still take a ton of time on the official servers, which is why i always recommend people try mid rates like TalonTales which is a really good balance of leveling time.
there are ok-ish guides out there.
many sadly lost to the void because private server wikis went down and search results got fricked thanks to mobile homosexualry.
as long as you play on a server with a resetter you cant go truly wrong and at worst be unoptimal/slower when it comes to acquiring shit.
>ok-ish guides out there.
yeah but it's hard to determine which ones.
Specially because the game has so many moronic versions that alter the mechanics that you might be following a guide that makes you weak as frick. >classic literally 90s client >renewal with their moronic item changes >new classic that considers some stupid stuff from renewal
I was levelling a wizzard rushing dex only to realize that autocast is no longer a thing on most classic servers
Gunning 150 dex was so trivial, but the variable and fixed cast time in renewal just made the game less fun because you had to focus on getting gear that eliminated it while hoping that gear didn't get invalidated next update
Renewal simplified everything and change a lot of formulas and it took a lot of agency out of stats and put it into weapons.
Pre-renewal you got all your damage from str/dex/int depending on weapon type and used the card modifiers to blow your damage into orbit so having more card slots was the priority on weapons.
Renewal gutted stat bonuses so you didn't have nearly as much damage from raw str/dex/int alone and needed higher damage stat equipment to deal more damage, which sacced card slots.
It was always moronic that a 4 slot weak weapon was often better than any of the rare/hard to get weapons because they only had 1~2 slots at best so I can understand the change, but that aspect of RO was what made it stand out.
Adding a fixed cast time and fixed delay to certain skills was good because instant/near instant cast mages where bullshit. But the chance in stat weight fricked mages over anyway.
>first class you rush
I assume you mean the first character on a server?
The few times I started on pservers, I always started with a Thief. The extra flee makes all the difference without equipment and they have the best fashion.
those compared to alot of the third job outfits, I prefer alot of them more. at 4th job you are stupid powerful and whatever now, so your outfit might as well reflect it.
The thing with RO is that more than any other game you need help from other people if you want to have an easy/fun time leveling. Honestly just try to get a guild to do stuff with, soloing becomes way easier after you have a maxed character you can use to get resources and money, but for the first time trying to get other people to play with you is the best way.
Necri's videos are actually terrible. Almost every video he makes is just the same abusive exploitation of Mercenaries. He recommends some really shitty builds and methods that are outright dumb. In the video it looks like "just go here and do this" but skips the fact that you'll be doing it for three days.
Great, now it just needs a community of NEETs that can grind all day for years so you can revive your teenage years.
There's a lot of people playing Ragnarok, all the time. It's just that they are split into many small servers.
Outside of what us English speakers can see, there are SEA and BR servers with 10k+ players that have gone on for years.
If you want to do the bare minimum in cards and gear in pre-rebirth, the idea is to make one of these >priest >any archer >rogue >wizard >sage
Everything else requires medium to high amounts of zeny.
Why would I when I was the one who popped her cherry?
Shouldn't have set up that shop without the proper permits
bawd literally and legally deserved it
she should be grateful she wasn't deported or even executed right then and there
The story becomes more evolved with each episode, satan morroc being the pivotal turn that pushes everyone to want to overcome the new world, then renewal takes it even further since your character has become famous for being a third job powerhouse and you dictate the next king, uncover the mysterious history of glast heim, have an expedition to verus and ancient juperos, and helping the Rekenber vice president do an ethics crackdown on the company in Cor and Vermundts mansion.

RO is fun but it's wasted potential and flawed. >Economics
Anyone who has played RO knows basic economics by now. The ability to generate infinite zeny from selling items and the limited supply of low drop rate mandatory-everyone-wants items rises over time making the economy super fricked and gearing a huge unfun grind.
This ties into the end-game being worse because there's very little "horizontal progression" where acquiring gear for novel builds isn't a priority or is of very little significance. Especially for how hard it is to gear in the first place.
>Lack of features
RO in retrospect could've had so many features such as breeding Falcons and Pecos (for their own unique stats, abilities and colors), it could've had some form of player housing. Imagine owning a piece of house in Prontera and those outskirts in the city no one visited beyond flywinging would finally have something.
Obviously an in-game markethouse is infinitely superior to the nostalgic Vendor system RO has nowadays. As the game practically forced people to multi-client and have multiple accounts to play ideally. Merchants should be reworked because Overcharge and Discount are moronic. That said a simple way to make people still trade face to face or through vendor stalls is to just have a 2% tax for using the in-game automatic market.
inflation is only a problem because gravity refuses to implement better zeny sinks for the rich because they are too afraid of deinflation killing ro for good
cc-RO, though.... >seasonal resets; collect-'em-all (cards) metagame >pre-trans w/ expanded & TK jobs >pvp/woe non-existent >customizations; but vanilla-in-spirit if not in practice
...Is not quite going to be everyone's flavor of RO
...ahhh yes, the favored tools of the one-pump chump.
You get one good opening to work in and, provided you aren't stunned, blinded, or popped prematurely by your weakness, you can go to work for one quick burst and then you are done. AGI builds just can't go the distance.
the issue is gravity decided with comodo patch to nerf AGI tanking mobs by enabling a -5% flee penalty for each mob after the second that's hitting you
it doesn't sound like much but with 6 mobs you go from 200 flee to 160, which can put you from a 95% dodge chance to a 55% dodge chance, essentially increasing the damage you take by 9x, on top of just taking more damage because you're tanking 6 mobs at once
>ragnarok thread
huh, neat. currently playing ragnagoat, fun server if you like 1x and single client autism
crusader
evil druid for art, raydric for effect
seals
geffen
I would get behind low rate servers if I could trust any of them to A) not be ruined by gay server admins putting moronic changes in, and B) could trust them to not close their doors within a year of opening. Ragnagoats actually looks pretty good on both fronts but 1x is just a bit too low. I've done 2x, I think it's fine, anywhere below 5x is gravy with me...but 1x is rough.
i personally love 2x and 3x as well, but it seems nobody else wants to play something like that with single client. i could always make a FS/ME/TU priest to avoid having to partake in the multiclient meta, but it's hard enough to find people willing to party up outside static parties in 2023. luckily i lucked out a couple times in this server and found a decent amount of people to play with, ranging from static to duos to trios.
>Fricking Maplestory still alive and kicking >RO is fricking dead
Do you wanna know why?
maple is FOMO daily weekly garbage but with constant updates and constant symbol walls, that's why. if that's your thing, go for it. maple definitely has aged much better, but their practices are almost chinese tier. by the way, they finally allowed RMT in IGNs recently
you also have to pay up for vacpets, $100 for single use and $15(?) monthly fee for uptime. it's required if you partake in any grandis grind. you COULD avoid this by just loot cycling every 1 minute, but your rates will fall even without totem now. but i digress, this is a RO thread
I might mess around on goats a bit but I don't know if I can really go hard...but like I said some of the changes show the devs HAVE been around a long time and liked the old feel. Plus it has some good things like the anti-inflation patch reversion.
How's the ping from NA? Do they have a proxy server to help latency?

you don't have to go hard, that's the beauty of old games like RO. do whatever you want in your own pace. >ut like I said some of the changes show the devs HAVE been around a long time and liked the old feel.
yeah understandable, it's why origins was(hue) successful. every server after that feels way too risky. heRO is still up, which is just insane to me >How's the ping from NA? Do they have a proxy server to help latency?

>about 138ms but i have shit internet, so maybe 110 realistically? and no, proxies are down at the moment
ah well, understandable that a small server wouldn't put more money into a permanent proxy
still maybe I frick around but since I normally roll wizard which requires low ping, I might have to switch to some different class if I do decide on that
also one last question, does the server have a resetter? I hope so, especially since it's low rate.

server is based in germany, so it's to be expected. woe starts soon so maybe proxies will come back >last question
there is a resetter before base level 40

aaaaaaa why would you not have a resetter
ESPECIALLY on an episodic release server
low rate, low pop server means you can't reasonably expect to have full gear in any reasonable time, but you might gimp your build if you don't stat accordingly

for the authentic wiener and ball torture experience of course
its a build thats good if you can slam single targets to death, works better with lord knight anyways
I prefer the hybrid Knight/LK; big dick, godlike STR (140+) and VIT, decent DEX and just enough AGI to hit over 180 ASPD with berserk potion and THQ so you can easily spam your skills, shit's incredibly fun, you can also animation-cancel your attacks for even more speed
you think flee = good, but then realize that mobs start to decrease your flee chance until you are getting swarmed and torn up, which is where you realized had you just tanked and bowling bashed, you would have wiped the mobs instead of trying to make flee somehow work

Flee WAS good.
Until the devs started breaking the meta by introducing monster skills.
i liked the crit assassin builds, if you had the right cards and gear you could get max attack speed with buffs and insane crit chance

>crit assassin
the biggest noob trap that ends up with said newbs quitting the game as soon as they hit the biggest wall in the game in late 70s/80s
seriously, crit sin LOOKS cool to people that don't know that it's shit, but since you can't mob, don't have DEX to even hit with grimtooth, and kind of plink for dogshit damage, makes you absolute trash at grinding
it's fun up until then though
Anonymous
that's true for mid or low rates for sure, i did have to swap builds a lot for grimtooth if i was solo leveling at certain points.
in high rates though, crit sinx is an absolute monster with the deadly poison bottles.

and like...even then it isn't totally worthless. it just sucks. but sometimes you really need that someone to suck in just the right way, and crit sins suck just right enough to get that hole filled
Started playing on official server this week with a new acc because my old one is blocked, 5kk without trying multi client vending or lucking out on card. Inflation is laughably bad, no wonder you only see returning players tasting the nostalgia. beginners give up 3 days in
LUK was so underrated
1 STR = 1 ATK
3 LUK = 1 ATK 1 FLEE ALMOST 1 HIT AND A THIRD OF A PERFECT DODGE
The moment it takes 6 points for STR putting on LUK for 2 points is a no brainer, same for 9 and 3. I wish I could go back and fix all my shit
>Game isn't worth playing outside this mess of a client that has severe bugs since launch that can't tell you or your teammates where your character or some mob is after a hit during movement
It made every class have something OP, some more OP than others.
>Soul Linked sinx with Enchant Deadly Poison can one shot 90% of the builds out there with Sonic Blow >Wizard? Huh you can use Safety Wall and Stone Curse for free >Sage, your gimmick build is slightly more viable
>rogue gets literally nothing until transcending >monk does practically nothing >a few other very niche almost never used ones like blacksmith, priest, sage
I mean yeah some of the soul links broke the shit out of balance. Bard/Dancer link, Sin link, even sader link let them absolutely destroy shit with shield boom. But there were a lot of stinkers.
>Blacksmith Link was fun if you wanted to see them break their parties' weapons
Blacksmith link didn't do that though. The blacksmith skill Overthrust gave a 0.1% chance for any non-axe, non-mace weapon to break when attacking. Links gave smiths access to Full Adrenaline Rush, which was the same as normal Adrenaline rush except it worked on...katars and 1h swords. I don't think it worked on bows, and every other weapon type already has their own quicken (it doesn't stack).
crit sin in prerenewal is fricking boring
i can totally understand the appeal of having your openkore play you crit build and just have it walk around and do all the work while you watch youtube
We couldn't have saved shit.
The fact is that it's run by a company that's as incompetent as they are greedy and if your regions server doesn't have ten thousand concurrent players whaling as hard as possible they couldn't give less of a shit about you.
I still wonder what their intention behind shutting down all the private servers, because if they thought doing so would bring any of them back to official gravity is even dumber than I thought, and that is already a very low bar.
What are you talking about? RO was saved.
It's one of the most modable games of all time. There's not just one but several emulators for making server. Doddler is at the advanced stages of creating a Unity port of the client and both rA and Hercules are getting steady updates and features.
male sprite is whatever, female sprite just hits the fricking spot so well. damn koreans thinking bikini armor on a paladin would work, but made it pointy and stupid looking.
I definitely do, yes. Travels did this, but Travels was a shit server.

That is true. However, most of his videos don't show mercenaries helping him. But he also plays on 8x and probably finds big parties to get most of his EXP anyways off-screen. Still comfy to watch sometimes.
Earlier this year, the anons from /vm/ and /vg/ got together to play DeviruchiClub. It's the server Necri was shilling, and he was involved with the staff. We got to see and speak to him in-game. The WoE video on his channel is from the /vg/ guild as well.
He played solo from start to finish. He DID put in the hours, and he did it using mercenaries. But again, he often features worthless builds.
My favorite Necri video is the "No Cards Dagger Rogue" which conveniently cuts off at level 95 because it's the point where leveling becomes insanely boring. Low-damage auto-attacks, one monsters at a time, on such a low rate server. Anybody following this "guide" would no doubt quit.
some of the other videos just cover guides that have been around for a long while
i dont think theyre that bad
the bowling bash knight guides are the typical dual clienting stuff that everyone already does

Are there any privaste servers that are good and still active? I kinda wanna go back but don't want to interact with guild gays who judge you for choosing to be a ninja. Atlasro is full of homosexuals.

most low rate private servers rarely get more than a small handful of MVP cards
the amount of MVPs in the game is stable, especially on episodes before endless tower. bloody branches are rare items if even allowed and hocus pocus is both expensive and time consuming to do. Even if the MVP drop rates are above 0.01 (maybe 0.02-0.03?), even if people are nonstop farming every single MVP daily, you will likely not see more than one MVP card a month, if that. Usually you can go 4-6 months before a server sees its first MVP card and there's a very good chance it's a less useful one like Atroce or Garm.
They are treasured items (even the weaker ones are trophy pieces) and some of them absolutely destroy balance. They should not be given as a donation incentive, it's no different from selling lord kaho's horns or ahura mazdas.
>the one that allows RMT
Son, I don't know how to tell you this, but "allowing RMT" is not even something people seem concerned with these days.
Go to one of those Top 100 server listings and look up the offering. The majority of servers these days not only allow but have integrated systems made to make RMT easy. Hell, half of them have the word NFT listed in the advertisement directly.
Finding a good server isn't hard. What's difficult is to find a good server with a shred of integrity.
it's really amazing that of all the wizard skills, the ONE bad skill they have is frost nova
Basically every other skill has use either as a main build path, or being good for utility
That kind of consistency is almost never seen in a MMO
I find it really weird when people bring up RMT as a deal breaker on an MMO.
Like, what can you possibly do to curb RMT in any shape or form? A free trade game like RO has nothing stopping people from selling items for real cash.
And if you try to restrict trade to prevent RMT, you're just making it hard for every other player to engage in the economy. You'll end up with a game like Tree of Savior where almost nothing is tradeable. Not even money.
It was one of the very few mmos I could enjoy somewhat
I only fricked around too, didn't get into it that much. Reason why is because it was one of the first online games I managed to play with my friends. I remember having a shitty connection where downloading the installer took a whole fricking day. I wake up, turn the screen in and there it is, finally downloaded. I was really fricking excited about it. Finally I could play with my stupid nerd sonicgay friends from when I was more innocent and didn't know what a furgay was. I have a fond memory of that, but over the years I couldn't manage to enjoy the game much. Any other MMOs I just couldn't get into for long. But I remember this game having many servers. What happened now? Did official servers die? Did it stop updating altogether?
Eh, the history is sort of long past at this point, but there are lots of reasons why RO is "dead" now.
First is that the game is over 2 decades old. Most games don't make it past 5 years, to survive this long is an accomplishment, but even still its taken a large toll on the playerbase.
Second is that the official servers were always horribly managed, especially EuRO/iRO. Pay2win, laggy, never managed a good anti-bot measure, always behind pservs in updates and lacking many of their QoL features. 90% of RO's playerbase has always played on Private Servers for this reason.
Third was renewal. It changed a lot, the QRD is that it casualized the game, turned it into something very similar to WoW, and turned the gacha-style pay2win lootboxes up to 11. Not only were there p2w items, but now the entire mechanics of the game presumed you were spending hundreds of dollars a month to upgrade gear that could ONLY be done with cash shop items.
Renewal caused a massive schism in the community which to this day remains. Pre-ren has less content because it had its final episode (13.2) and stopped, but some pservs will backport renewal content and adjust it to pre-ren. Renewal has more content but it's very railroady and generic to the point where 99% of the game no longer exists.
There's other reasons as well of course, horrible management by gravity, recently trying to C&D server owners, using the IP to push mobile gachashit games...it's a tragedy but the RO community sort of just bears with it.
>Second is that the official servers were always horribly managed, especially EuRO/iRO.
I'm gonna jump to euROs defense here. They were the only server to not implement Kafra Shop and instead only sold cosmetic headgear bundles. The publisher eventually had to drop the game because Gravity made it unreasonable to continue with increased licensing fees, and everyone knew it was because Gravity themselves wanted to take over. As soon as they did, fRO (the new French/Belgian server by Gravity Europe) became euRO and it was just as P2W as every other server.
I suppose that's fair, I never played EuRO so I'll defer to your judgement. I also heard that jRO was incredibly well managed, but that's because jRO managed to wrangle out a good agreement when they bought the rights to host their server. They had custom changes, a non-p2w cash shop, and an incredible community of players that didn't bot, didn't cheat, and were respectful to each other. Guess japs just are the best people to play with, and I suppose requiring the jap equivalent of a SSN to play culled a lot of ne'er-do-wells.
You can do anything.
i've played both RO and MS extensively but you are lying if you claim maplestory is a good game
it's a fine experience, it's comfy to listen to the music and talk with others in it, and maybe it had something going at the start with its unique 2d platforming
but MS, especially pre-BB MS, is a terrible game from a mechanical standpoint
everyone with a brain left RO to play WoW
>brain
in 2004/2005? yes, WoW was good and they both had sub fees so the only reason you stayed with RO is you were either a third-worlder playing private servers or you didn't have a brain
The only people willingly to play WOW never played anything else before
I like just everything about ragnarok better than wow. Ost is better, art, gameplay, class system, monster design.
I mean I liked RO too, but I was specifically responding to the original post lamenting that RO died with a simple explanation of why it died.
agreed, it has the best music of any game i've heard for sure.
one of my favorite things about it is how every monster drops their own unique card that can be put in equips. that combined with the stat system gave the game such a massive depth for builds and strategies.
one of the coolest card/equip builds i had was a vampire whitesmith:
>exp bar
ah yes, now i remember how hard it was to level up pre 3rd after 95+
Leveling after like 85 was mostly a completionist thing. You didn't need to be max level for content and dungeons weren't designed around it, the added stats just made life a little easier.
8x was basically the highest range all my characters got in the official servers since I would just spend all the time on pvp after the build was mostly complete.
high rate fricks up the loot rates too much (particularly problematic with mvp cards) and makes the game moronic as a result.
Leveling in a party was great. Slow as frick but fun. Pretty dangerous at times too.
yeah the party combat is lots of fun, the classes really compliment eachother well in parties. high priest was my main for a long time.
The part I liked the most about the card system is that it gives the player a reason to go back to earlier areas of the game or engage in content they wouldn't before. That did wonders with making the market and world feel a lot more lively
If you truly believe that, then you missed RO at its peak.
You mean everyone with no brain left to play WOW Lmfao.
>everyone with a brain
More like everyone who lacked one. Players from other MMOs mocked WoW even back then.
Actually I was playing both RO and SWG at the time of the mass migration towards blizzard's dominion. WoW was the reason every MMO degraded to absolute shit, because it was either compete with it (by borrowing heavily from its example) or die.
>terrible commerce system
>3rd is just tele + skill spam
>woe is all whale2w
No, we couldn't
>terrible commerce system
learn to vend and compete
>3rd is just tele + skill spam
it was like that in 2nd and first, not much of an excuse
>woe is all whale2w
RMT and cashshop are problems that officials suffered from, but can be addressed in pservers, just depends if your pserver is trash or not
>leaving a game running while you can't play just to be able to sell is good design
Oh shiy RO thread? Well frick, post your:

any card with atk
any place i can kill in 2 hits
payon
blacksmith completely lost its identity in the game rip
I wanted so much to be a blacksmith and make weapons for the community but even the best forgable weapon was inferior to stuff you could find in the game. It was pointless
What are you talking about, certain elemental weapons were always in high demand. The true hurdle to overcome was the Blacksmith ranking.
for pvm they are fine if you dont have a sage to endow, you could even get a 100% chance to refine elemental weapons by reaching 130 dex luk + bless + gloria and depending on when and where you were playing oridecon got very cheap. and best of all you can build a rent through credit system, go to payon and recruit every new character, rent them cheap elementals and build a credibility between you and them so you can rent players with good credit history ever so slightly better weapons
at first you'll lose quite a lot of money from theft but after a while the players you've been successfully renting to can go back to you with many other characters and that's when you start making some real money from forging
ranking is overrated compared to getting this going on
VVR weapon is best to use against assassins.

Saved what? It was one of the most popular MMOs in the world for years and still kept being fairly popular for nearly two decades. Everything just comes to an end eventually.
If you are talking about the quality of the game it was kino up to before 3rd classes.
I guess with 4th jobs about to come to iRO, what would it even be considered at this point
You can't even save yourselves.

>Doddler doing RO shit again
Holy shit
It has been a decade
Who? Explain old man
He ran a RO fansite with calculator tools and shit, it was called doddlercon (lel)
I kneel kamisama
Is this just a client or is he also making his own emu to parrot aegis?
its the client, every other emulator already does what aegis does but better
RO emulators are horribly wrong when it comes to mob ai, skill usage and mechanics. Game isn't worth playing outside of aegis.
Proofs?
Let me explain it to you so you understand, with a unity client and server, any and all bugs are easily fixable.
Camera can be modded to be whatever you want to be. You can create your own game. You can turn ragnarok into an EVE-like game, make your own mods, your own game, with minimal effort.
https://twitter.com/RoDoddler/status/1691415863327649792
Ragnarok's self engine is the reason why the game spent 20 years without fixing game-breaking bugs that affect all players.
Pretty cool project actually
Any idea if and when will it be available?
He's been working on it for years as a hobby, don't expect it to ever officially come out. He does do random betas, though.
He's using a custom emulator I believe.
I knew he was fiddling around with this, but his last update was... a year ago or something?
Glad it's not abandoned.
>doddler is still doing RO shit after 20 fricking years
Man is crazy. He also had been working on visual novels.

All the good servers were like 50x or lower.
And that's why i don't take nostalgia Black folkseriously
soulless, low rate is where the fun is at
most high rates i tried were pretty bad, but i did have one that was really good. max level 255 and the server had the best PVP and WOE gameplay that i had seen in any private server.
it made it more about who could think of the best builds and less about who has grinded more.
which one
NamelessRO (nlRO)
found a pvp vid from nlRO, bad music over it so played muted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9ZR0h9p7kc
pvp rooms were basically just hangout spots where groups would come in and try to take over or sometime people would just chill and duel.
>Fricking Maplestory still alive and kicking
>RO is fricking dead
Do you wanna know why?
explain, i never played maple
rowboat?
Are we excited for Novas scam?
https://www.youtube.com/@SamsaraSaga
this isnt a scam their dev team was beyond capable of making a game and probably the only reason renewal got updated.
Out of anyone they have the best chance. It will still be your average shitty P2W trash game just like his server. Also all the assets shown dont match each other.
no, I played his server completely f2p, I wouldn't play anything else he makes
Cope Leikatroony
I haven't touched leika, I tried MuhRO, its alright, but I might just reroll my own renewal server
99% of the posters in this thread are Brazilian turd worlders.
post skin and your favorite RO class
stupid cum skin is stupid
>knowing behind every player was an IRL fat anime gay
kinda ruins the nostalgia
says the fat anime gay on Ganker
I may be an anime gay but not fat. Also, the game literally has anime art style and was inspired on a manhwa.
Honestly, not entirely. RO, being anime themed, attracted its fair share of female players. If the female population at the time was believed to be 1%, then RO easily had 20%-30% of its population be female and some of them were attractive. Crazy, but attractive.
I found more women on tree of savior than ragnarok but that's probably just because online games became more popular among women over time.
>Wherever i go i must proooject
I remember people crying about servers not having resets, especially when new content came along and their stat build became less than optimal
>ok-ish guides out there.
yeah but it's hard to determine which ones.
Specially because the game has so many moronic versions that alter the mechanics that you might be following a guide that makes you weak as frick.
>classic literally 90s client
>renewal with their moronic item changes
>new classic that considers some stupid stuff from renewal
This,I'd also like to know:
>first class (or classes) you rush
>maps and level ranges you run
>item progression
>favorite zenny farm technique
I used to run a crit assx on sleepers to farm zenny before crit got nerfed
>first class you rush
I assume you mean the first character on a server?
The few times I started on pservers, I always started with a Thief. The extra flee makes all the difference without equipment and they have the best fashion.
>unique artstyle with lots of charm and still looks great in 2023
>... and now it's this
So much soul. What the frick happened?
korean millennials
It's pretty incredible how deep and calculated Ragnarok can be when you break it down in numbers and formulas. How did no other Korean game do this?
most of the team was japanese
those compared to alot of the third job outfits, I prefer alot of them more. at 4th job you are stupid powerful and whatever now, so your outfit might as well reflect it.
Unironically when gravity saw WoW's success and made renewal to turn the game into WoW. Then they started chasing Gacha trends when those took off.
to be honest the new sprites look pretty good, it's just the render artwork that looks like shit
There's no one left playing RO anymore
That's not 100% true, you just have to temper your expectations. A lot.
by that do you mean play on Hispanic or macaco servers?
I am Hispanic so I can deal with it
idk I just like having a server that isn't so easy and have all of these warpers and stuff like the last brazilian one I tried
I always start the game as a novice.
thats nice *plays doram*
what the frick is a door ham, do you steam those
they are the annoying cats that gravity added for people who didn't know how to play the game wanted to play renewal at easy mode
max out str because agi builds are for noobs
Look up Lord Knight Necri videos
Don't do this.
why
Necri's videos are actually terrible. Almost every video he makes is just the same abusive exploitation of Mercenaries. He recommends some really shitty builds and methods that are outright dumb. In the video it looks like "just go here and do this" but skips the fact that you'll be doing it for three days.
There's a lot of people playing Ragnarok, all the time. It's just that they are split into many small servers.
Outside of what us English speakers can see, there are SEA and BR servers with 10k+ players that have gone on for years.
If you want to do the bare minimum in cards and gear in pre-rebirth, the idea is to make one of these
>priest
>any archer
>rogue
>wizard
>sage
Everything else requires medium to high amounts of zeny.
OH NO! talking to other people and working together in an mmo?! better just quit.
You couldn't even save her
Why would I when I was the one who popped her cherry?
Shouldn't have set up that shop without the proper permits
bawd literally and legally deserved it
she should be grateful she wasn't deported or even executed right then and there
Anyone played the game because of the story? I never would have guessed RO had so much geopolitical drama.
The story becomes more evolved with each episode, satan morroc being the pivotal turn that pushes everyone to want to overcome the new world, then renewal takes it even further since your character has become famous for being a third job powerhouse and you dictate the next king, uncover the mysterious history of glast heim, have an expedition to verus and ancient juperos, and helping the Rekenber vice president do an ethics crackdown on the company in Cor and Vermundts mansion.
is there any page to read the full lore? I never cared to look into it
I mean this shit is recent, I'm sure someone stuck it in a wiki, otherwise I can only suggest playing renewal, which sucks because its renewal
I saved this lore thing long ago.
Everyone who still cares is old and jaded
game made for moronic brs and literal children
Is there a fun mmo to play in the year of our lord 2023? I will not accept XIV for an answer.
None, unfortunately. I felt that the era of MMORPGs, esp the asiatic and grindy ones are long over.
what about grandblue fantasy
ib4 mobage
Ragnarok Origins
Ganker server revival when, the last two are dead
I was raped there
I wish official wasn't RMT hell
Weren't you on your own server?
still am, just ran an update today
go back to your containment thread stupid ponyfricker
I made the thread butthole
That said a simple way to make people still trade face to face or through vendor stalls is to just have a 2% tax for using the in-game automatic market.
inflation is only a problem because gravity refuses to implement better zeny sinks for the rich because they are too afraid of deinflation killing ro for good
Merchants should increase the drop rates of monsters their party kills or grant a buff that increases drop rates for players and some combat stat.

>pre-trans w/ expanded & TK jobs
>pvp/woe non-existent
>customizations; but vanilla-in-spirit if not in practice
...Is not quite going to be everyone's flavor of RO
I really enjoyed this server and its gimmick. Only problem is I got bored after 3 seasons or so getting all the cards.
hataOnline
crit/flee knight is some insane shit if you get the gear for it
...ahhh yes, the favored tools of the one-pump chump.
You get one good opening to work in and, provided you aren't stunned, blinded, or popped prematurely by your weakness, you can go to work for one quick burst and then you are done. AGI builds just can't go the distance.
its a build thats good if you can slam single targets to death, works better with lord knight anyways
the issue is gravity decided with comodo patch to nerf AGI tanking mobs by enabling a -5% flee penalty for each mob after the second that's hitting you
it doesn't sound like much but with 6 mobs you go from 200 flee to 160, which can put you from a 95% dodge chance to a 55% dodge chance, essentially increasing the damage you take by 9x, on top of just taking more damage because you're tanking 6 mobs at once
I would get behind low rate servers if I could trust any of them to A) not be ruined by gay server admins putting moronic changes in, and B) could trust them to not close their doors within a year of opening. Ragnagoats actually looks pretty good on both fronts but 1x is just a bit too low. I've done 2x, I think it's fine, anywhere below 5x is gravy with me...but 1x is rough.
i personally love 2x and 3x as well, but it seems nobody else wants to play something like that with single client. i could always make a FS/ME/TU priest to avoid having to partake in the multiclient meta, but it's hard enough to find people willing to party up outside static parties in 2023. luckily i lucked out a couple times in this server and found a decent amount of people to play with, ranging from static to duos to trios.
maple is FOMO daily weekly garbage but with constant updates and constant symbol walls, that's why. if that's your thing, go for it. maple definitely has aged much better, but their practices are almost chinese tier. by the way, they finally allowed RMT in IGNs recently
you also have to pay up for vacpets, $100 for single use and $15(?) monthly fee for uptime. it's required if you partake in any grandis grind. you COULD avoid this by just loot cycling every 1 minute, but your rates will fall even without totem now. but i digress, this is a RO thread
I might mess around on goats a bit but I don't know if I can really go hard...but like I said some of the changes show the devs HAVE been around a long time and liked the old feel. Plus it has some good things like the anti-inflation patch reversion.
How's the ping from NA? Do they have a proxy server to help latency?
you don't have to go hard, that's the beauty of old games like RO. do whatever you want in your own pace.
>ut like I said some of the changes show the devs HAVE been around a long time and liked the old feel.
yeah understandable, it's why origins was(hue) successful. every server after that feels way too risky. heRO is still up, which is just insane to me
>How's the ping from NA? Do they have a proxy server to help latency?
about 138ms but i have shit internet, so maybe 110 realistically? and no, proxies are down at the moment
>about 138ms but i have shit internet, so maybe 110 realistically? and no, proxies are down at the moment
ah well, understandable that a small server wouldn't put more money into a permanent proxy
still maybe I frick around but since I normally roll wizard which requires low ping, I might have to switch to some different class if I do decide on that
also one last question, does the server have a resetter? I hope so, especially since it's low rate.
server is based in germany, so it's to be expected. woe starts soon so maybe proxies will come back
>last question
there is a resetter before base level 40
aaaaaaa why would you not have a resetter
ESPECIALLY on an episodic release server
low rate, low pop server means you can't reasonably expect to have full gear in any reasonable time, but you might gimp your build if you don't stat accordingly
for the authentic wiener and ball torture experience of course
I prefer the hybrid Knight/LK; big dick, godlike STR (140+) and VIT, decent DEX and just enough AGI to hit over 180 ASPD with berserk potion and THQ so you can easily spam your skills, shit's incredibly fun, you can also animation-cancel your attacks for even more speed
str builds were so broken for pretty much everything, too bad i fell for the agi meme for the longest time because fast = cool moronation
you think flee = good, but then realize that mobs start to decrease your flee chance until you are getting swarmed and torn up, which is where you realized had you just tanked and bowling bashed, you would have wiped the mobs instead of trying to make flee somehow work
Flee WAS good.
Until the devs started breaking the meta by introducing monster skills.
i liked the crit assassin builds, if you had the right cards and gear you could get max attack speed with buffs and insane crit chance
>crit assassin
the biggest noob trap that ends up with said newbs quitting the game as soon as they hit the biggest wall in the game in late 70s/80s
seriously, crit sin LOOKS cool to people that don't know that it's shit, but since you can't mob, don't have DEX to even hit with grimtooth, and kind of plink for dogshit damage, makes you absolute trash at grinding
it's fun up until then though
that's true for mid or low rates for sure, i did have to swap builds a lot for grimtooth if i was solo leveling at certain points.
in high rates though, crit sinx is an absolute monster with the deadly poison bottles.
and like...even then it isn't totally worthless. it just sucks. but sometimes you really need that someone to suck in just the right way, and crit sins suck just right enough to get that hole filled
how does a decades old game look so much better with the 2D in 3D world style than these modern jrpgs?
these are low effort pixel shit.
RO's sprites are fully hand-drawn
true the monster design and pixel art was high effort. everything came together so well
for me, it's Two-handed sword AGI Knight and I don't give a frick about meta homosexuals.

https://tiermaker.com/create/cities-in-ragnarok-online-15483455
Started playing on official server this week with a new acc because my old one is blocked, 5kk without trying multi client vending or lucking out on card. Inflation is laughably bad, no wonder you only see returning players tasting the nostalgia. beginners give up 3 days in
nah you can't
There was and is nothing to save.
Private servers were always superior and they are still going today.
I wish I could go back and fix all my shit
luk was so trash they had to boost it in renewal to make it more relevant
Ah, so it was trash and young me did the right thing by completely ignoring it
>crappy makeshift engine
>vs
>open source unity project
>Game isn't worth playing outside this mess of a client that has severe bugs since launch that can't tell you or your teammates where your character or some mob is after a hit during movement
Skill issue
the client still uses directx7, if the devs didn't all quit in 2001, they could have maybe got directx9 support probably when that came around
>From funnest to lamest
Soul Linked Sonic Blow sinx
Crit sinx
Perfect dodge tank sinx
Double dagger sinx
Soul Destroyer sinx
I love how powerful Link skills made us but god damn did Soul Linkers completely destroy the balance
>kaahi
>i now be tanky pvm magic user because tanks are lames and deserve to struggle leveling
It made every class have something OP, some more OP than others.
>Soul Linked sinx with Enchant Deadly Poison can one shot 90% of the builds out there with Sonic Blow
>Wizard? Huh you can use Safety Wall and Stone Curse for free
>Sage, your gimmick build is slightly more viable
>rogue gets literally nothing until transcending
>monk does practically nothing
>a few other very niche almost never used ones like blacksmith, priest, sage
I mean yeah some of the soul links broke the shit out of balance. Bard/Dancer link, Sin link, even sader link let them absolutely destroy shit with shield boom. But there were a lot of stinkers.
Monk was just to make combo Monk more annoying
Blacksmith Link was fun if you wanted to see them break their parties' weapons
Priest Link was great in that once you used it, that Priest got the urge for violence immediately
I don't think it worked on bows, and every other weapon type already has their own quicken (it doesn't stack).
>give stalker full divest
>meanwhile biochemists get full coating and acid demo
i think at some point they realized that forcing people to unequip their items was unfun and they just stopped trying to balance it
holy shit i forgot how good sages were so obnoxious in pvp
it depends
crit sin in prerenewal is fricking boring
i can totally understand the appeal of having your openkore play you crit build and just have it walk around and do all the work while you watch youtube
crit sinx was fun in pvp and in WoE as an emperium breaker, with the right build you can easily get 3k crits and 190 aspd with EDP
>/taekwon
>frick you xXjimmyXx, get a life

What are you talking about? RO was saved.
It's one of the most modable games of all time. There's not just one but several emulators for making server. Doddler is at the advanced stages of creating a Unity port of the client and both rA and Hercules are getting steady updates and features.
Great, now it just needs a community of NEETs that can grind all day for years so you can revive your teenage years.
Female Knights were cute, Female Crusaders weren't cute
female lord knights are sexy, female paladins are cute but damn that armor
Wrong
royal guard is even worse, paladin looks normal in comparison, jRO royal guard is a complete 180 and saves that classes look
the kro sprites are dogshit
how the frick did they let the japs do a better job at their own game
male sprite is whatever, female sprite just hits the fricking spot so well. damn koreans thinking bikini armor on a paladin would work, but made it pointy and stupid looking.
Thank you for being objectively correct.
Anyone else miss UI skins? None of them work right anymore and the UI is a completely different mess on each different server.
The frick
god wizard is so based
It's not that Wizard is based, they're just very solid at what's expected of them.
some of the other videos just cover guides that have been around for a long while
i dont think theyre that bad
the bowling bash knight guides are the typical dual clienting stuff that everyone already does
although ill take it into account that this necri guy is from some /vg/ clique
>although ill take it into account that this necri guy is from some /vg/ clique
We had contact with him but no, he isn't. I don't think anybody on DeviClub was even aware that we were a Ganker guild.
lost my skins folder but yeah those were great. RO was truly the most customizable mmo
Love Crusader sprites. Pecos ruin the look IMO but the speed/weight upgrade is way too good to pass up.
Are there any privaste servers that are good and still active? I kinda wanna go back but don't want to interact with guild gays who judge you for choosing to be a ninja. Atlasro is full of homosexuals.
play with friends or win the lottery finding new ones tbh
NovaRO
should we tell him?
TalonTales is good, has about 1000 people on
>talon
lmao no
talon was basically renewal before renewal was a thing
>you can be a supersaiyan on talonRO!
it's just a mid rate, but lots of good party leveling and events
nah they didn't allow that but you could buy donation tokens to then buy items in game and different cosmetics.
you are conveniently leaving out that you literally buy MVP cards with real life cash
that's like every private server ive ever been to lol.
you can still get by just fine without doing that though.
Black person i have not played on a single pserv with cash shop mvp cards and talon is the only "reputable" one, I know some pump and dump servers do it but nothing meant to be taken seriously
you are full of such bullshit
even in wow you can buy tokens with money and exchange them for gold to buy whatever you want. i'ts not really a new concept.
i think it's fair to do in exchange for donations since the servers themselves are free to play.
most low rate private servers rarely get more than a small handful of MVP cards
the amount of MVPs in the game is stable, especially on episodes before endless tower. bloody branches are rare items if even allowed and hocus pocus is both expensive and time consuming to do.
Isn't Talon the one that allows RMT?
Or was I thinking about other server
>the one that allows RMT
Son, I don't know how to tell you this, but "allowing RMT" is not even something people seem concerned with these days.
Go to one of those Top 100 server listings and look up the offering. The majority of servers these days not only allow but have integrated systems made to make RMT easy. Hell, half of them have the word NFT listed in the advertisement directly.
Finding a good server isn't hard. What's difficult is to find a good server with a shred of integrity.
I play renewal for the jRO sprites there I said it
the JRO sprites were so superior that nearly every pserver paywalled them
ive bought the jro sprites in 2 pservers ive been in
its absolutely awful
i cant stand the female rune knight sprite
frost nova wizards never made it
it's really amazing that of all the wizard skills, the ONE bad skill they have is frost nova
Basically every other skill has use either as a main build path, or being good for utility
That kind of consistency is almost never seen in a MMO
Don't worry, Warlock saved it.
Only things that memorable about this game is the F-Priest upskirts. rest of the game is generic trash.
Bot killed it.
this game was mogged hard by maplestory
i've played both RO and MS extensively but you are lying if you claim maplestory is a good game
it's a fine experience, it's comfy to listen to the music and talk with others in it, and maybe it had something going at the start with its unique 2d platforming
but MS, especially pre-BB MS, is a terrible game from a mechanical standpoint
bampu pantsu!
