            https://store.steampowered.com/app/1691970/Danganronpa_S_Ultimate_Summer_Camp/

It's V3's extra content but instead it's a standalone game, with all the characters from the Danganronpa franchise that are worth your time sinking your teeth into (aka not the ones frmo anime/manga/light novels). Imo it's a game where you play once and never touch it again, so you're better off seeing interactions of different characters on Youtube. It did give us swimsuits for all the characters though

              Anonymous

Danganronpa S had way less quality character convos than V3's development plan mode, some characters were pretty flanderized but I suppse that's par for the course with spin-offs

The ID it's making for the game is different and the mod file is also giving a different ID. Maybe it's because I got it from a different place as everyone else?

How do I make this game not run like shit in Ryujinx? Lagging and freezing is constant but the worst part is the constantly horrible audio. I downloaded patch 1.3.0 and the mods from but it's not any better (and the FPS is still capped at 30?)

        Do you have US version?

        Anonymous

just take off the mods off if you cant play it properly.
        >i have a 4090
The emulator tries to emulate the game. You could have trouble emulating less intensive games under no fault of your gpu but the emualtor itself. Plus some games break past 30 at time. Botw's physics are fricked if you play it above 60.

          Anonymous

          >The emulator tries to emulate the game.
You can easily play the game at 1440p and locked 60fps with RTX 3060 and a half decent cpu. Stop being moronic, the game is not hard to run at all.

            >not that hard

turn off vsync to enable higher fps cheat
try fricking with audio backend, i heard some anons had more luck with soundio although it causes crashes on startup for me

          Anonymous

You don't need to turn off vsync for 60fps if you installed both fps mods properly. Disabling vsync just uncaps the framerate.
The game runs perfectly (except the crashes once every ~2 hours) if you have a good pc, so it's either skill issue or a potato pc.

Thanks for the 900p resfix. Looks like a good compromise for the resolution and performance. It's a bit blurry but not by much and it's runs as good as the regular nonmodded version so it's stable enough without the slight sluggishness of the 1080p. Well I'm still using the Max OC values for sys-clk still, haven't tested the other values.

I tried it with and without both the FPS and resolution mods, as well as swapping between bilenear and FSR upscaling, disabling postprocessing effects, disabling graphics backend multithreading, and changing the audio backend.

I played up to the start of chapter 3 and I don't think I can stomach any more. The labyrinths have to be the worst fricking idea anyone has ever had for a mystery game, reasoning death matches are the only minigame that actually works out, the barrel thing and the QTE sprint at the end are so disconnected from what's going and I can't believe they end every case with the latter. The writing is dull as shit and every character is one note, cool you can jerk off to the shinigami but that doesn't make her fun or entertaining and the main character is made entirely out of cardboard.

Playing this game's introductory case and then playing the first case of Phoenix Wright gave me fricking whiplash.

Talk about throwing Occam's Razor out the window. I thought the killer followed our character through the train, used the momentary darkness to sneak past and plant the body in the fifth car and hide in the engine room but noooo he actually preformed these convoluted multitrack calculations to detach the front car and set it on a separate track just so that it would be at the back of the train when our boy arrived. This took like 5 hours of dialog to introduce and kill off an entire cast. Even when you solve the case, there's no satisfactory ending to it.

Wright's case on the other hand is a simple story with a loose thread the game asks you to pull and is really fun to unravel to some catchy music. It only took 20 minutes.

any switch gays here have to succumb to buying the game digitally? none of the online places will deliver the game for weeks and I live in a rural area in america that didn't even have crisis core so I just caved in, I'm enjoying it though

      Anonymous

You could have emulated it and play it while you wait for a physical copy to arrive in the meantime (unless you don't have a PC or a hacked Switch). Kinda iffy about buying digital stuff, you don't own it, you merely pseudo-rent it. But giving your money to things you enjoy (regardless of media) is a good thing tho

I'm autistic and still prefer original hardware for whatever reason even if yuzu/ryujinx is objectively better. but I don't mind giving Kodaka my money especially when a lot of people aren't even aware this game exists

Ace Attorney is an easy in, these games are convoluted, and pretty much sell off of art style and coomer bait along with that desire to figure out the fricked up plot. I can say if you enjoyed 999/ZLR and what not you'll enjoy these games for the 'figuring out the solution' more then AA as those are far easier with only a few cases really tossing a wrench/twist, and it's more about how to prove the solution case correct.

AA easily for newcomers. It's more down-to-heart and light hearted than Danganronpa, Rain Code or any of the other mystery games. If you enjoy AA and want to expand to other mystery games, then you can

Finished the second case/labyrinth. The investigation itself was actually quite good, really meaty for a post-tutorial case. And the labyrinth wasn’t as bad as the first, on account of having a lot less aimlessly running forward. But it was still garbage. The basic concept of this game just seems to be an absolute miss. It’s not too hard to see what theme the game is going for here, but the game isn’t even remotely approaching the level of complexity to earn that payoff. The moral complexity here is the equivalent of a Professor Layton “Did A, B, C, or D tell the lie?” puzzle. That’s disastrous if the team is aiming to redefine itself.

Any magic. It seems to be prevalent in detective games, even in Ace Attorney you have magic to see when someone lies. This includes impossible technology that might as well have been magic. So something more grounded.

Look into The Zodiac Trial then; it's the most relevant that I've personally played that stays well within relative reason. As much of a spoiler as it is to say that there won't be any wild simulation-type ending or dream ending or whathaveyou. Of course, there are some other mystery games on the list that are sci-fi in nature and feature magical elements, or have advanced tech but you yourself don't have any magical ability like you're implying.

Game is said to be 40h long but it seems like it's padded to hell with lots of pointless walking back and forth, talking and over explaining things, lots of loading screens, etc. I enjoyed Danganronpa, but I can't get into this one.

    Chapter 1 spoilers I guess
    >The killer has to be one of these people, because you didn't come across any other standout NPC's during your investigation
There was no hard evidence connecting the killer to the crime, it was just process of elimination from the 4 """suspects""", based on someone burning a rope ladder in the church
This was never a problem in Danganronpa, because there are obviously a very limited number of people involved, but literally anyone in the city could have been the killer. It's not like rope ladders are some extremely rare item that others couldn't have

Given they're making a season pass involving this, it's likely mini cases starring the 4 master detectives. No labyrinth but likely more on scene investigation.

There is nothing wrong with magic in mystery settings.
There is nothing wrong with a (potentially?) anti death penalty theme. Then again, the whole, "Shinigami reaping a culprit" might not be anything more than touching upon a theme than actively working it into a story, especially when the cycle is offscreen death>amaterasu tries to arrest/kill you like they wanted to do anyway>asspull save.
There is nothing wrong with simply using a representation of a culprit over the actual person in debates.

It is entirely how you execute these concepts, and at the very least there should be more effort than basic balancing of supernatural human talents and handwaving consequences to push the plot in the planned direction.
Mascots are outright unsalvageable however, and keeping one of their biggest flaws, the shit personality, shows you didn't even want to try to. No, making it a hot girl in a sea of hot girls will never, ever count.

I thought she was Rie Takahashi(Megumin) at the start. Also the MC is https://myanimelist.net/people/45402/Katsumi_Fukuhara so basically both are nobodies? Or maybe their agencies are pushing them now since MC also got main roles recently and Shinigami's got Bocchi fame right now.

          >she's been a seiyuu for a while now
we're talking about an industry with people who have been active for over 20 years, Junko's seiyuu, who's one of my favorite seiyuu ever which is why I'm using her as an example, has been active since 1998, compared to that this Sayumi girl is really fresh

Yeah but 5 years in the industry does not mean Shinigami's voice is new. And looking back at her VA's carrier she has it better with all the main roles she got and being on big shows like Kaguyasama, Bocchi and even gundam.

There are veterans scattered amongst the cast but mostly on dead ones or irrelevant amaterasu corp goons.
The prologue case is a great example of this since everyone except the main 2 characters and the old man each have over a decade of experience AND huge popularity in their time. And the old man actually is one of the oldest veteran VAs in the cast, he just doesn't have hit roles.

She's Nijika from bocchi and Uruka from bokuben. And Bokuben was 2019 so she's been a seiyuu for a while now.

It's tedious because of the forced walking sections and most of the minigames being boring and wildly out of tone with solving a murder and being removed from what's going on the real world.

It's tedious because of the forced walking sections and most of the minigames being boring and wildly out of tone with solving a murder and being removed from what's going on the real world.

Doesn't matter if you make mistakes or do it all perfectly as the game is handholding you throughout the whole process. Also frick the walking in the labyrinth, frick all of the loading screens, frick the pointless dialog, frick the labyrinths in general. I want to confront the killers in the real world, not in a made up labyrinth.

It all about exposition and character interaction. If you know the answer, it doesn't get tedious.
Biggest labyrinth haters are brainlets and autists.

          Anonymous

The characters you're stuck with in the labyrinths are the worst ones though. Yuma is a wooden board, the shinigami is the same two jokes on repeat, the detectives are one joke on repeat.

          Anonymous

What fricking character interaction? Yuma is your typical MC who's just boring, Shinigami is "loooool, did I tell you I'm horny? Hey did you know that I'm so horny right now?? I also love murder mysteries. Oh but did I ever tell you that I'm horny?". You're left with one character who joins you for a chapter, but if you don't like him as well that's it. And so far the 2 detectives have been so one dimensional that they're not any better than Yuma or Shinigami.

Also how can it not get tedious when you know the answer and the characters in the game take hours to come to the same conclusion as you? The class trials in Danganronpa had this as well but it was alleviated by having more characters that they could bounce off one another and not having countless loading screens, walking segments and pointless cutscenes.

kodaka clearly ripped everything he could out of uchikoshi's playbook because of ai's relative popularity, i wouldn't be surprised if they consulted on how to make a horny joke machine character

I actually liked the first AI, it was a downgrade from his previous works, but still enjoyable. It also shouldn't come as a surprise that they keep reusing the same twists, characters, etc. from their works as they've done this countless times already. Every time a game like this comes out there are always people like, I saw the culprit coming, I figured out every twist, I solved every case before they even began, in fact I solved it long before all the necessary information to solve it was provided to me.

Is it a flex? Is it mental illness? If tested, would your clarivoyance work on command or would it be like the Street light interference phenomenon and you just don't feel like it when asked to prove your forte?

no idea. maybe they feel the need to justify wasting hundreds of hours of their lives reading mysteryge so they can say they got it instantly, personally even when I do get it early I like seeing it play out when the characters get it.

        Anonymous

The way I see it, when a person thinks they know the answer to something without first eliminating the other possibilities, that just exposes their ignorance, even if they turn out to be correct, because the path that led them there was prone to be incorrect.

That's not the biggest issue to me tbh. Having a case which you figure out by yourself before you get all the evidence and shit is fine as long as the characters, story and dialogue are interesting. Also as long as it doesn't waste too much of your time when characters start piecing everything together. And so far Rain Code only has one of those right, story or rather the premise. Everything else is mediocre and a lot of stuff in the game is designed to waste as much of your time as possible.

        Anonymous

You can't be too picky, there aren't that many games like these being made. Like, it's more a question of how much crap you're willing to put up with to get to experience the mystery.

I always thought Danganronpa was slow and annoying too, but the story kept me invested. Every time a monokuma appeared on screen in V3 I skipped dialogue until they were gone, and I don't regret it one bit. This trait carried over when I played Ataraxia sadly, and whoops, characters there say important shit. Now I have to replay large parts of it and actually read what's going on.

          Anonymous

          >You can't be too picky, there aren't that many games like these being made
And that sucks. I'll still b***h about it and criticize it though. I just want better mystery games but so far both Kodaka and Uchi have disappointed me (AI2, Death Come True, World's End Club and now Rain Code).

Why wouldn't they when people like you continue supporting them? Clearly they have zero financial incentive to be creative.

Except I don't, not anymore. Last game I bought from Kodaka was V3 and VLR from Uchi.

      Anonymous

It's none of those things dumkopf, the quality of mystery stories heavily depends on the audience being able to figure it out with the clues given, but hard enough that they don't until the big reveal without being unfair. So when the answer is given, the author can go "hah, I told you already, see here's all the clues"

My big problem with DR isn't that I'm some super gigabrain, it's that a lot of them make me assume things based on what I think the writer is going for instead of engaging with what's actually in the story. Case 3 for example in 1 and 2, fricking obvious and stupid. Case 4 in v3, same shit. The set up has to carry the whole mystery and therefore the whole game so if it's predictable then it's shit.

So what's the definitive way to run this on Ryujinx? 1080p mods, better graphics settings (it's a UE game so that should be possible by editing the ini files), 60fps and all that enabled.
I have the EU version if that matters.

      >EU version
60fps mod doesn't work for me.
