case 2 is kino from a gameplay perspective Have to disguise as each of the suspects to not only search through their belongings without suspicion, but also because the schoolmates will give different info depending on WHO you ask as. Stuff like a previously intimidated classmate as Yuruma is revealed to be madly in love with Yoshiko. And you have to memorize where each suspect is so you dont bump into the same one as your guise

After playing it for almost 10h I think I'm done with the game. Shinigami is literally the only good thing about it but she's not enough to carry me through this 40h slog of a game. That's 3 strikes for Kodaka in a row now. Guy can't make a good game anymore to save his life.

None of the people on the train could verify her identity, the medium could even have been a dude.
She could easily have lied.
Then she couldve just stop possessing the body and left the train to whereever she controlled the body from, so we're left with just a corpse.
Remember we never see her use her abilities it could be anything.

Still with admittedly later context from other characters (slight spoiler) things that explicitly evoke more magical or occult like her Spiritism or the airhead that can turn back time are consistent in their hard limits, only characters like the souda knockoff have their abilities be as broken as such an ability can be I don't think they have anything that broken anywhere near the game's setting, at least for the player's experience.
So she definitely wasn't lying about the power at least. Really wish the DLCs would explore the prologue cast since they actually need it. Maybe later this year to avoid spoiler impressions.

you know i looked through every title on here a while ago and all of them are complete dogshit. there are good games, like gnosia and paranormasight, but you just ignore them for fricking underground 22. corpse factory is okay.
Just finished chapter 0 and the game just feels like a danganronpa game but with more shitty minigames, padding and somehow even worse pacing (not like DGR pacing was ever good to begin with). The case was a bit of a snoozefest and the only part that I liked was the moving the front car to the back trick. The persona 5 palace knock off had some cool visuals but was so fricking slow and brain dead most of the time it really soured the experience. I'll play the next chapter but if it doesn't improve I'll probably drop the game, despite being a big DGR fan.
I had the same reaction to ch0 as you and ch1 didn't improve, it's even more tedious with the prolonged investigations and walking everywhere by yourself.

I never thought I'd say this but I'd prefer longer loading screens, especially since in this game they lock info behind it compared to the snail speed walking cycle, and that presumes it runs perfectly.
AI wasn't good either. It's crazy how much better the ds/3ds/psp spike chunsoft vns were vs modern ones. The limitations of those systems unironically improved the experience by limiting how much moronic padding the developers could put in game.
and yes it was tragikino that made realize shimigami is going to be an obstacle at some point, or yuma will use the emergancy exit to save a culprit at one point

the worst part about it is how inconsequential the labyrinth in Chapter 0 felt. You confront Zilch, not the real one, but rather a fricking monster-fied version of his conjured by the labyrinth, and then he dies off screen. Where's the catharsis in exposing the truth to the culprit? To watch them scream and squirm and try their hardest to point out flaws in your logic, the way that all the other characters would react in real time to all the new information being presented and given proper context. The labyrinths kill the culprits, which should be a big deal, but they feel so fricking INCONSEQUENTIAL

I just finished the amaterasu case. Some flimsy logic but i already suspected who the culprit was and the whole blackout thing from the beginning. The stupidest shit was with the car changing,the culprit hiding under the bed and the culprit hiding in main power room. They said that the thing was locked , it suggested that it doesnt have a lock,also it took me 2 tries to realize the game wanted me to realize that somehow the first car got detached. I honestly thought he made it to somehow lose power and went past him and back during the blackout
I like them so far, the worst thing I could say so far is there was a Yakou line that had stress on it for too long. Haven't played with JP voices though so YMMV.

You investigate in an open city and then do mystery dungeons which like danganronpa are a linear series of minigames where you connect the dots.
The city quests has short sidequests you can do as well.

Any Steam Deck players able to compare performance with me? I’m using the latest version of Ryujinx with the dumpanon’s nsp and patch, with the 720p mod. I was getting single-digit frames in some of Chapter 1’s Reasoning Death Matches. If the later ones will be more hectic, I may have to swap over to my PC instead of being comfy with my ‘eck.

Don't have a Steam Deck but I'd say the game is pretty poorly optimized tbh. I've played the intro on the Switch and it was dropping to 25fps with nothing happening on the screen, overclocking it fixed it though.

If you're good at solving mysteries, it probably will feel tedious. If you're a brainlet, it will additionally feel like they asspulled the solutions. The game likes to waste your time.

I meant like we never saw the original girl at all. We could've seen a totally different dead girl walking and talking the whole time.
None of the people on the train could verify her identity, the medium could even have been a dude.
She could easily have lied.
Then she couldve just stop possessing the body and left the train to whereever she controlled the body from, so we're left with just a corpse.
Remember we never see her use her abilities it could be anything.
But yeah I guess it makes more sense to assume she wasn't lying and never once used her powers.

Still with admittedly later context from other characters (slight spoiler) things that explicitly evoke more magical or occult like her Spiritism or the airhead that can turn back time are consistent in their hard limits, only characters like the souda knockoff have their abilities be as broken as such an ability can be I don't think they have anything that broken anywhere near the game's setting, at least for the player's experience.

the worst part about it is how inconsequential the labyrinth in Chapter 0 felt. You confront Zilch, not the real one, but rather a fricking monster-fied version of his conjured by the labyrinth, and then he dies off screen. Where's the catharsis in exposing the truth to the culprit? To watch them scream and squirm and try their hardest to point out flaws in your logic, the way that all the other characters would react in real time to all the new information being presented and given proper context. The labyrinths kill the culprits, which should be a big deal, but they feel so fricking INCONSEQUENTIAL

I just finished the amaterasu case. Some flimsy logic but i already suspected who the culprit was and the whole blackout thing from the beginning. The stupidest shit was with the car changing,the culprit hiding under the bed and the culprit hiding in main power room. They said that the thing was locked , it suggested that it doesnt have a lock,also it took me 2 tries to realize the game wanted me to realize that somehow the first car got detached. I honestly thought he made it to somehow lose power and went past him and back during the blackout

Any Steam Deck players able to compare performance with me? I’m using the latest version of Ryujinx with the dumpanon’s nsp and patch, with the 720p mod. I was getting single-digit frames in some of Chapter 1’s Reasoning Death Matches. If the later ones will be more hectic, I may have to swap over to my PC instead of being comfy with my ‘eck.
