Was it kino?
Did you play this game with prior danganronpa knowledge? No matter if you had or not, what were your thoughts about it? Best girl? Rain Code improved on some aspects, but felt lacking in others imo.
Time to have a proper Danganronpa 4- I mean Master Detective Archives: Rain Code thread
OP was a homosexual so I included the name of the game in the title.

Kino, up there with V3. I can't decide which one I like more as a whole, but RC has a much, MUCH, better finale.
Comparing Rain Code to Danganronpa is like comparing a gem to sewage.
Danganronpa had lower lows than Rain Code, but arguably higher singular highs. Really what amazed me the most in Rain Code is how better the final chapter and antagonist was compared to DR. There were still some issues and the ending felt streamlined to even out the details, but you can tell Kodaka improved as a writer.
Same for the mysteries who were enjoyable to solve in nature, even if some had no reasons to exist from a narrative perspective (case 0) or felt like filler/underwhelming in the grand scheme of things (case 1, 2, 3)
Rain Code showed a lot of promise for more dynamic gameplay segments too. The one on one duel fights in chapter 4 and 5 were great and could be even better directed if they had the budget of an AA (double A, not Ace Attorney) game.
Vivia was a better antagonist than Nagito and Kokichi without even trying to be.
RC had way better character, interactions and music tbqh.
The characters themselves are fun and have nice designs (except Halara) But with only four characters and almost zero interactions between them, compared to a cast of 16 characters all making friends and clashing with each other, Rain Code felt very lacking.
stop autistically comparing the two. they have completely different structures with their characters. raincode follows ace attorney's approach here.
The big cast of characters and interactions between them is a strength DR has over Ace Attorney as well as Rain Code. Ace Attorney does its side characters better than Rain Code I think.
DR is shit compared to both AA and RC.
Most of the character writing sucks, sure, but they still interact and influence each other and create drama, and you probably have a few characters you like and are happy when you see them get screentime. There is basically no drama in Rain Code besides in chapter 4. If you like a character, you get one chapter with them. These are drawbacks.
The drama was weak and the characters themselves were even weaker. So please stop acting like it's some sort of gold mine there when it never was. RC had way more drama than DR.
>RC had way more drama than DR.
bro there was NOTHING
Because you didn't play the game.
>still autistically comparing the two despite having different structures and approaches with the cast
i guess dangangays are just braindead and can't stop themselves from comparing every game to their own.
>noooo stop comparing the two when the OP is about comparing the two
danganronpa is dead while raincode is the new hot thing. cope.
made by the same writer.
doesn't mean shit, moron. two different structures. it's more like ace attorney than anything.
Nostalgia is clouding your judgement if you honestly thought DR had good character interactions.
>Vivia was a better antagonist than Nagito and Kokichi
I disagree. While he had more reasonable motives to go against the MC and be the "rival" in that case, I feel like him being underused/not having a few moments in the spotlight prior to the case hurt the impact of this scene. He is only remembered because of the kino gameplay segment attached to him, not because of his writing.
Same sorta applies to Yakou as well, but plotwise. The two being the highlights of the game only hurt more. If only there had been one more episode with all the detectives interacting with each other and playing an active role all at once to make all of the Nocturnal Agency detectives bond together involving a case with the peacekeepers/resistance, it would've been greater and more impactful.
Maybe they couldn't render 5 people at once in the labyrinth - I feel like the labyrinth while cool in concept really hurt not only the pacing but the way to make people feel invested in the real world of the game.
Danganronpa had you interact and even get to know Nagito/Kokichi, they had sufficient buildup throughout the game to actually matter when they started fricking things up. However Kokichi was a less effective character in my opinion and they didn't really know where to take him because of the lies. You can tell they tried to one-up themselves with what they did in DR2 and it didn't feel organic as a result.
Indie games like YTTD did the nagito trope better, even a fangame like Super Danganronpa Another 2 had a better "rival troublemaker" than togami/nagito/kokichi
I'm not reading your wall of text but Vivia is a better antagonist than Nagito and Kokichi without even trying to be. He was more effective than Halara for sure.
>Vivia is a better antagonist than Nagito and Kokichi without even trying to be
Probably because you didn't play the game. Don't reply to me until you do so, moron. Now make yourself scarce.
The cast felt underused. RC being its own thing doesn't mean it's okay to have characters only exist when they revolve around the main character instead of being characters to hold their weight on their own. I surely missed the point of he peacekeepers being one-note jobbers who don't matter instead of being the supposed threatening and merciless law enforcers in Kanai ward. Yomi barely filled that role. I have to compare some stuff to Danganronpa and even other mystery games like Ace attorney, because those games handled those things better than Rain Code. It doesn't make Rain Code a bad game, but your moronic brain cannot understand nuance. Sorry if it hurts your feelings.
You continue to double down on your stupidity. It's unreal. Don't you have a general to shill your games at?
>autistic screeching
You didn't play the game.
Who's webms did you steal this from, fellow DRbro?
>dangantard continues to show how he didn't play raincode
imagine thinking you're in the position to criticize anything lol
>making webms out of my own gameplay footage
Keep coping troony
>i just want the detectives to all be together
brainrot. you literally missed the point of what they are.
He keeps seeing RC as a DR game which is why he's bringing up a bunch of stupid criticism for it.
Rain Code is legitimately the only game out of this "series" that I felt had a good ending and an actually good twist
In 1, 2, and V3 I remember having a good time on the Kodaka rollercoaster and just waiting for it to end in the last chapters, and it just got progressively worse as they try to one up the last games twist each time.
Danganronpa definitely has some pros over Rain Code but the story is superior in every conceivable way.
RC is the only game out of it's series.
>looks like Danganronpa
>plays like Danganronpa
>sounds like Danganronpa
>written like Danganronpa
>"it's not Danganronpa bro"
>DRtard when he sees a game that has same artist as DR's
I guess Akudama Drive and Tribe Nine were also DR projects too!
Next you're going to tell me that Dark Souls and Elden Ring aren't part of the same series
>dodges the post
I guess you really ARE moronic enough to think Akudama Drive and Tribe Nine are DR projects.
I don't even know what those are and it's irrelevant anyway.
The game has
>main characters who each have their own specialty/power
>same style of intro scene
>quirky mascot character who breaks the fourth wall constantly
>same exact hub world you frick around in that expands the further into the game you get but with a city skin
>same Chapter system
>same Pink blood
>investigation equivalent with the same instrumentation
>truth bullet equivalent
>class trial equivalent
>non stop debate equivalent
>equivalent to all the mini games including the word finding one and the driving one
>climax reasoning equivalent
>execution equivalent
It's Danganronpa 4.
I really don't get this weird disconnect from people trying to pretend it's not and that they hate Danganronpa but somehow like this game.
It'd be like if Nintendo's Mario team got together and made a game that plays, looks, and feels exactly like a Mario game by the same exact Mario devs but called it Jimmy's Jumping Jungle or some shit. It's just a Mario game. That doesn't mean it's bad. It might even be better than Mario. But it's still fricking Mario.
Ahahahaha so I guess Akudama Drive and Tribe Nine are DR projects according to your mentally ill mind.
I just looked them up and those aren't even video games dipshit
What are you even trying to say
>projects
DRtards can't even read and Tribe Nine IS a game.
To you two, Rain Code is its own IP, but it also hold strong similarities to a previous IP. People need to realize that to some extent it should be judged by its own merits from that point of view, for it's sake to be fair, but I can't fault people for comparing it to Danganronpa as well to some, because of those strong similarities. People will judge it as its own thing, people will compare it to Danganronpa, etc.
RC is it's own IP. Not it's fault that DRgays are starving cucks after having no game for over half a decade(because it's dead) and have to claim every mystery game afterwards has to be a DR game. They do this with YTTD as well.
if those people actually played the game, they'd see that it has plenty of differences from danganronpa.
Danganronpa V3 has plenty of differences from Danganronpa THH too, what's your point?
>DRtard doubles down
Typical from a schizo. Imagine coping over your dead series for 6 years that you have made yourself believe a new IP is part of your dead one.
Rain Code isn't THAT bad
This. DR was complete and utter dogshit. RC honestly redeemed Kodaka as a writer.
And yet they still trumped on DR's band of rejected gimmicky characters. RC is supposed to be more like AA.
I thought the cases in DR1 were serviceable but the actually story in between the cases to be pretty shitty, including the ending. Ended up not playing the rest of the franchise as a result because it's not like the gameplay, music and overall presentation make up for the subpar story. Having this in mind, any chances I'll like rain code?
643574949
Nobody cares dude.
Yeah RC was an improvement over DR1 so I'm sure you'll like it.
Then I'll give it a try, thanks
I like how Fubuki looks like a Hot Topic employee but has a ditzy moron princess personality.
Definitely a "better in some ways, worse in others" compared to DR. I actually don't know how to compare the two. DR had much better characters and interactions and (IMO) music, Rain Code had atmosphere and setting and twists and a generally solid array of mysteries. Going against the crowd, I think 0, 1, and 3 were still quite fun, if not up in the high tier of the other chapters
It breaks suspension of disbelief that she's able to get dressed without help every day.
Rain Code is closer to Dangan flavored Ace Attorney more than Danganronpa itself.
people who don't understand this are brainlets. raincode is more similar to ace attorney than danganronpa so it's autistic to expect that they'd handle their cases the same as danganronpa's as it's not supposed to be that way and supposed to be more like ace attorney's.
I don't think people dislike 0 and 1.
case 0 was way too long for a tutorial case and a bit too overcomplicated to be believable. case 1 was okay but a bit too basic I think. At least the investigation was decent.
>and a bit too overcomplicated to be believable
How? It's literally just sleeping drugs and a train detachment, I could easily see it being the gimmick of a Holmes story.
We are supposed to believe Zilch saw Yuma wake up in the restroom, somehow timing that with lighting the bed on fire while lying in it himself (basically blindly trusting that Yuma goes out of the restroom right away to see the smoke), pretending to be stabbed, then make sure to hide under the bed just as Yuma goes for the fire extinguisher under the cover of smoke (something that is potentially lethal to inhale mind you) and trust that Yuma has the strength to shatter the glass, open the door and put out the fire before the fire consumes the bed he was hiding under.
This is why speedreaders like you are so moronic. The game flat out shows you how it works and yet you still trying to overcomplicate it.
So point out what's wrong in what I described then.
How far do you think the restroom was from the room Zilch was in, dumbass? Then you even have the fire extinguisher that he literally had on the ground for Yuma to use. You think it's not realistic for him to trust Yuma to break the glass? Have you forgotten how heavy a fire extinguisher is?
The game tells you how these things played out but your autism somehow found you not agreeing with it and overcomplicating it so you can complain about it. You have a mental illness.
>the game showed exactly what went down, that means it is completely realistic and you can't question the logic of it!
As far as I'm concerned, fire is way too unpredictable to do something that risky around. Can you predict exactly how fast the fire will consume the textiles of the bed and make sure you don't start burning before you have to get out of it? How do you know you won't pass out from the smoke building up in the room while you wait to make your move? Maybe you hold your breath the entire time?
This is not me overcomplicating the event, it just means that you have to suspend your disbelief that much to go along with what the game is selling you.
I don't see what's wrong with any of that, all he had to do was listen for Yuma moving around and light the bed right then, also there's no reason to believe he didn't have a backup to deal with the fire in case Yuma fricked up.
>DR had much better characters and interactions
This is definitely my biggest problem with the game. I really liked the mysteries though.
It's very solid complete package. The mysteries were a bit easy to determine the culprit, but overall they were enjoyable. Case 3 was by far the worst one, but even that wasn't exactly bad.
I wish they did more to develop the characters though. I didn't feel like there was enough downtime between cases.
The pink blood was an awesome twist, I thought it was strange in Case 1 but forgot about it pretty quickly.
I think I know how Mystery Labyrinths will be implemented into the second game
>Makoto uses Coalescence by grabbing Yuma's hands for a few seconds instead of holding onto it like Yuma had to for the others Forte's
>Makoto is also able to use the Solution blade just because
>Yuma most likely has a basic understanding of Coalescence and it's power is greater than he thinks
>Because of his bond with Shinigami he probably copied the ability to manifest Mystery Labyrinths but since there is no Shinigami involved he will be able to solve Mysteries without killing the culprit avoiding that whole dilemma.
Yuma will not be the MC of the next game.
This, why would Number One need a crutch for weak detectives (the labyrinth) to solve cases
because relying on others is based and trying to do everything by yourself is cringe.
Shinigami disagrees. Only a b***h needs others to do everything for them.
a better question would be what did make #1 believe that his creed was so wrong as to needing to do the pact with Shinigami for a case as important as to stop his clone from keeping the existence of Kanai Ward as a secret for all eternity?
Exactly he would just be there to act as support and create Labyrinths
Would YOU join tbhhiko's band?
Of course. I'd make sure to take all the money from our concerts as well.
I’d join his band and help him score
My physical copy isn't arriving until the end of the month so I'm stuck watching webms of the pretty girl in a barrel.
I hope I wasn't the only one who couldn't work out the solution for the gallery chapter 1 murder. It was so simple but I didn't see it for some reason.
I was kind of checked out during the section where they wanted you to figure out how they put the key on the doll. I didn't really see a point in spending time on it, the chapter was mainly focused on how rooms were locked then the actual murders.
Locked rooms make me hard I guess, and the labyrinths work by uncovering all the mysteries. Although that case also had the neat clue of the paint tin being kicked over in Halara's reconstruction with is a direct clue for who the murderer was.
Chapter 1 seems to have some weird information mistranslation or something, like some details weren't carried over from Japanese properly I feel. Yuma says he can't even fit a finger in that window so how the frick did the culprit do what they did at all?
He said that he could only barely fit his fingers in but not an arm. It was possible to stick a long nail into the doll propped up against the window.
And somehow hammer it in against an unstable base? Also the nail wouldn't have been flat against the doll like it was even in that case.
The painting was set up parallel against the wall and all the culprit needed to do was make sure the nail was in place. Even if the canvas fell back as a result, the locked room is still set up.
Anon that nail was driven directly through the doll and canvas, there is no way the frame was stable enough to have that hammered in with nothing sitting behind it even if the window were wide open.
What are you talking about? It's perfectly stable.
Go try hammering a nail into a frame of wood with no base without letting it topple and see how that works out for you.
Again, can barely even fit your fingers through that window.
>Again, can barely even fit your fingers through that window.
Yes you can. Did you forget the size of it?
Did you forget what Yuma literally said when he tried to?
>frame of wood
I thought it was just pierced through the canvas.
What do you think holds the canvas? It wasn't just a sheet of cloth.
I used to make canvases in art class. They're like this.
Yes, and you see that border? What's it made of.
The nail was punched into the middle of the canvas. Where there isn't any wood.
There was still a doll to hammer through, also rewatching the deduction denouement it was one of the huge canvases with two boards across the middle to support it, otherwise the nail would have just torn through the canvas when it hit the floor.
I thought you were saying the nail was pierced through wood. All the culprit needed to push the nail through was a brittle doll and a tightly stretched piece of cloth.
Have you ever tried pushing a nail through a cloth doll with just your hands? Especially when you can only move from the wrist up at best.
>with just your hands
Wait do you not realise the culprit used a hammer?
Again, tiny ass window, how in the shit did he have room to hammer a nail on when you can barely even fit a hand in?
What if you just held the other nail to keep it stable?
I don't like these threads anymore
then go away you fat monkey.
Is there a link to pirate this? Not paying $60

>disable VSYNC in settings (important)
>right click raincode on ryujinx

Higher res:

Follow the same procedure as above to install, copypaste the folder you want in there
However, res fix causes unavoidable crashes at VERY SPECIFIC and rare moments in the game (when the text glitters/evaporates like particles inside the labyrinth for one dialogue box)
To fix it just save often, remove the mod if you encounter the crash, finish the section then re-add the mod.
Don't forget to buy the game. Kodaka delivered.
He could have said no.
My save doesn't load,, i'm in ch5 in the facility in the abandoned village, anybody can send ttheir save so i can progress?
My save stopped opening after i found Vivia's remains and tracked a mystery person
I have 10 save files. Does that work for you? However I don't have tbhhiko's 3rd gab
>However I don't have tbhhiko's 3rd gab
Yeah no, Im not touching your shitty save files with a ten foot pole. Thanks for nothing
I liked it. Maybe I've played too many of these games but this felt particularly easy. Glad to leave high school setting behind.
Yeah that was why DR was so stale because it was just another high school closed space. RC felt like a breath of fresh air in that regard in just being in a big city solving cases. Made the cast not feel so limited.
Has anyone succeeded in playing this on yuzu/ryujinx on steam deck?
It ran fine on mine when i tried it.
Really? Any special settings, because I mostly get 5-20 FPS
deckies get the rope
Just used the settings people posted for ryujinx.
Mind if I ask what are those settings? It’s 2 am and I can’t sleep…

Why is Yuma so rapeable?
Why does every girl lust for shotas in this game?
How many girls actually lust for Yuma in this game?
>Was it kino?
Nah bit it was ok. Next one will probably be danganronpa level kino.
DR was never kino and RC already trumped it so the sequel can only hope to be better than RC.
this. danganronpa is overhyped trash especially with it's endings. rain code was practically made to give danganronpa fans an actual good mystery adventure game.
Whos b***h is this? I like this game, we all know it's not as good as Danganronpa, can you stop shitting on every thread? Thank you, I have some cartoon porn to fap to.
>DRgay continues to cope
Lmao. RC dabs on your shitty game. Now run back to your general.
Dude, most people who use Ganker just use Ganker, shut the frick up about fricking general, I am shittin on you, here. These shitty bait posts, they must come to an end.
I think the ending of RC reached DR kino. DR has relatively weak endings.
So everyone here played it on PC, right?
Switch.
post yfw you realized the pink blood was actually relevant to the plot
for me it was when the chapter 2 victim died but tbhhiko's nosebleeds were red for some reason, then remembered yuma had red blood in case 0, then forgot about it being relevant until case 5 mentioned the differences in blood and it hit me like a fricking truck
What makes a person hate Danganronpa so much and love Rain Code so much when they're the same exact game?
>I didn't play the game!
We know.
Go back to your general already.
Nothing. They’re just fricking around. 99% of people who bought (or pirated) this game already had at least a passing interest in Danganronpa.
I'm actually curious about this, did ANYONE who isn't familiar with or doesn't like DR buy this game? There wasn't too much marketing for this game and a lot of interest was due to this game being a spiritual successor to DR.
That's what's weird to me
I can't imagine hating Danganronpa but jumping in line day 1 to buy Rain Code.
It has to be shitposting.
>It has to be shitposting.
You are a detective to rival Number One.
>dangangay when people who like mystery games buy rain code but don't care for danganronpa
it's sixty fricking dollars and will be half that in three months, there is no reason to randomly buy this now unless you already like DR
>replying to a post from hours ago
autism
>revisionism
woo boy. this is a new low even for you
Maybe like 5 random people saw it on a store shelf and bought it after seeing the big tiddy reaper on the back of the box.
Why do you keep replying to yourself?
Same anon replying to his own posts.
They're moronic copers.
Never played Danganronpa, but would I enjoy this game if I enjoyed 999?
Not really, they don't have the same atmosphere. Maybe try AI somnium files, made by the same writer of 999. If you like that game, the transition into Rain Code might be easier.
I also recommend at least playing Danganronpa 1 to get used to how Kodaka writes games, but that's not really necessary.
probably, i'd say on average people are more likely to enjoy danganronpa than 999. i mean, from what i've seen most people who are curious enough to start danganronpa don't end up hating it, which is slightly less true for 999
Eh, not quite 999 good, but it's still a fun ride if you're a fan of VNs, so why not.
I wonder how long this schizo will keep this up for, I guess it's impossible to have threads about this game because he'll barge in and start screeching incoherently about his hatred for DR for whatever reason. No wonder the last thread died before it reached bump limit.
I saw him yesterday too. He's going to be here forever until these threads die isn't he
you can't have too much normal fun discussion, especially with a new game. mr fricktard seeking validation will make sure of it.
He has been obsessed since at least 2018
I'm pretty sure the guy having a meltdown about the /drg/ boogeyman is actually a DRgay falseflagging as an RCgay to make discussion about the game impossible here, since I'm pretty sure he never played this game either seeing as he refuses to actually discuss RC.
Why does every game I play have to have dedicated schizos shitting up every thread?
>/drg/ shitposters still raiding rain code threads
when will these annoying fricks leave
>just finished the game and the threads are already shit
Anyways, I can't believe Yuma never copped a feel of the Shinigamis
Danganronpa is donkey shit
Is it confirmed that each of the DLC stories is a new case? Or are they just additional stories
The latter.
maybe if you guys stop bringing up danganronpa, all this shitposting will stop
nobody is bringing up DR more than this singular schizo
/drg/ will keep raiding RC threads over anger that RC's first week sales completely destroyed all of the DR games' first week sales showcasing that RC already has a bigger opening than DR.
It's going to be the new thing for SC for the coming decade and they know it and are angry over it.
I like RC too but what is the point of this lie?
Famitsu scores don't lie, /drg/.
And the famitsu numbers tell us V3's first week was 133k vs Rain Code's 55k.
No it didn't. Plus V3 had two platforms at release while RC only had one. You lost, /drg/
You bring up an interesting point that even if you discard the ps4 and only count V3's vita numbers, it still sold 20k more than RC.
It did not but please keep it going. Even then, RC still steamrolled the other DR games which you can't deny.
Here are the numbers if you want. I'll even include the other DR games that outsold it.

dude just shut up this is not a guy you can reason with
he's sacrificing himself to keep the schizo busy just hide the post and its replies
Nice made up sales schizo. This is actual physical sales not counting digital.
Yup, only beating the original game in first DR sales. Are you a masochist?
>first DR
first week*
Those don't include digital or else your other games would get buried as well. Even so, RC and DR1 are the first games of their IPs so they should be comparable.
How will you cope out of this one? That the PSP was an aging system at the time? So is the Switch.
For the life of me I can't imagine why they put this on Switch. I would've bought it if it was on PC. That said, I still played it on PC.
Because Switch is the only handheld console out on the market now you moron. Look at the DR games. Notice the similarities for their original platforms on release?
Fair enough, but v3 released on PC at launch too, no? Feels like a dumb move that probably hurt them a lot.
3 copies sold on pc
selling slightly less than another sequel from an established series is impressive for a new ip from the same genre
No one is buying your attempts at revisionism. You've been outed, give up
Are Rain Code sales actually good? I felt a flop coming tbqh
They outsold FF16's in Japan and destroyed all of DR games' first week sales. It did well and will keep doing better especially with the DLC.
Anyone who thought this would flop have mental illness.
To be fair, I think the only reason it outsold FF16 was because nobody fricking owns a PS5 there and everyone owns a Switch.
the schizo is fuming the very second DR gets brought up, he is in the wrong. if he was more mentally ill he would blame kodaka for being the writer of Rain Code and start hating the game just because he wrote DR.
And that's assuming he is genuine and not just a falseflagging moron
this, stop referencing in the OP or the morons will start fighting each other again.
>get to final case of a Kodaka game
>enjoyed the game up to now but fully expected the plot to just go to shit because that's how it usually went in DR games and expected it to be way too long also like usual
>turns out it doesn't take forever, they jump right into the investigation and they don't reiterate the same points for 4 hours in the labyrinth
>makoto actually had a good motive for everything and the actual fight was kino
>twists were actually good, pink blood was fricking kino as a DR fan, "everyone is a homonculus" twist was almost too much but they foreshadowed it decently enough
>emotional and heartfelt goodbye at the end with Shinigami
holy shit Kodaka can actually write good endings now, I was very pleasantly surprised
Yeah, that was amazing. Goes to show how much he improved from Danganronpa.
I hope he brings the same level of interactivity between the cast and emotional highs from his previous Danganronpa games in upcoming Master Detective Archive sequels. 1000 detectives work for the WDO so he has a lot of material and potential settings to explore. He has a knack for character writing, it's natural since he wrote Danganronpa before Rain Code. I liked the references to not only Danganronpa in it, but to other mystery novels and games.
Yeah, I think one of my only real complaints is that I wanted to spend more time with the cast, but that's also a plus because I realized there wasn't really any characters that I truly disliked unlike the DR casts which always had a couple of misses for me personally. By chapter 2 or 3 I realized I would have been real sad to see any of the detectives die so my heart fricking sank the second I realized Yakou was the culprit of Case 4, I paused the game and tried to determine how maybe it could have been done by someone else for like 10 minutes before accepting it really was him
how many of the 32 or so IPs here are /drg/ raiders, schizo-kun?
The troony trying to create flame wars between Rain Code and other mystery games has already been outed and exposed.
https://arch.b4k.co/_/search/text/%2Fdrg%2F%20%2Frcg%2F/
It's just better to ignore him. Even when you show him proof that you played the game, he will ignore or deflect because he is a braindead shitposter. Just don't interact with him or give him attention and it'll stop.
Just wait till it turns out in Rain Code 2 or 3 that Danganronpa actually is in the same universe and that all the characters in those games are Homunculi created far in the future and Talents are just the remnants of scientists injecting Fortes into Homunculi or some horseshit
imagine the ensuing meltdown from this schizo if that happens
So this is DRtards' new cope? How desperate are you for relevancy?
>"Peacekeepers, shit up the damn Rain Code thread! Make up a flame war and pretend to be a /drg/schizo!"
>Y-Yomi sama... I did it. I made RC fans and mysteryge fans turn against each other... don't turn me into a cube please Yomi-sama aaaaAAAIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The cube thing was the most unintentionally funny thing in the game. Yomi is hilarious.
I love how it requires this very specific piece of machinery. Why was the cube machine invented?
>makoto saved her from getting cubed and denied us of yomi talking to his cube gf
What would happen if she was turned into a cube? Would dismembering a homunculus that severely permanently kill it?
Nope. Suwaro would just break from the cube and become a zombie.
pic related
So do any of you guys actually like Rain Code? Seems all you guys just want is another Danganronpa game.
Except for one person, this entire thread is composed of raiders from /drg/, so I guess.
I love Danganronpa and Rain Code but I would prefer more Rain Codes over more Danganronpas
The school murder game setting can only go so far
Rain Code has way more potential for interesting stories
This. I've had enough of DR and RC has shown me that the team can really continue cranking out the wacky murders, characters, feels, etc that I already got with DR. I'm not interested in the killing games and closed spaces anymore. I wanted more freedom and RC gave it to me. I do hope we get a sequel so we can expand more on it's setup while improving on the flaws it had with the first game.
Hopefully RC2 actually has some Master Detective culprits
Master Detective's using their intellect and fortes to hide crimes would be really cool to unravel
That would be cool. They already implied that there are bad master detectives who use their fortes for crimes so it would be nice to get those guys in a sequel.
Was fully expecting a master detective to use their forte to commit a murder
That being said I think that just made chapter 4 better because the culprit is the one guy who DOESN'T have a forte and has to manipulate the other detectives into a position where he can use their powers to his advantage. It's even foreshadowed a little bit because he repeatedly says "even without a forte, detectives can do great things" plus I think the writers are definitely banking on the player making the assumption that a detective would use a forte to commit a crime, Fubuki in particular being suspect in that case until you can determine she was innocent and that it had to be someone that knew about her forte
Yeah, that was one good thing about rain code. The locales felt more varied than the overdone school setting, along with the murder tricks involved. Apparently Kodaka got help from an actual novel writer for the mysteries in Rain Code, explaining partially why they were less crazy than in Danganronpa and easier to solve, sadly maybe too easy. But more importantly, they were all reasonable and didn't rely on weird asspull shit to work. Even case 4 that fully exploited the supernatural Fortes was a satisfying and emotionally tough riddle to solve.
I really liked that moment of realization when you find the lab plans/photo, investigate a little afterwards but then ask yourself basic questions like:
>so the culprit had to have been standing on top/hanging onto the ama-pal to make their way into the lab, logically speaking that's the only way. vivia's forte is intangible so it won't work
>Could tbhhiko have prepared a costume to resist the poison?
Maybe, but he has an alibi.
>Hmm did the killer just not care about the poison? Who has showed signs of being poisoned or dying right n-
oh shit
>no maybe that's wrong what about the fitz killer
>how would fitz get past the 3rd panel, the robot only accessed the room thanks to us and fubuki's powers meaning he was someone who knew how to exploi-
no way no way FRICK
I know the first case isn't popular but I remember having a great "aha" moment when I actually examined the track map
I'm pretty sure that's what Kodaka is going for which is why Danganronpa V3 is pretty much a genuine finale to the series in terms of "I don't want to make anymore". also this series will be called master detective archives btw
We haven't had a game since 2017. Can you really blame us if we consider RC as one of ours? Everyone who's worked on DR worked on RC and it's also a SC property that bears a lot of similarities to DR. It's hard not to see it as DR's spiritual successor.
We just wanted a new game and got it with RC. We're desperate ok?
>danganbros literally begging at this point
>falling for an obvious falseflag
Out of curiosity, did threads for Elden Ring have some moron sperging out whenever someone compared it to previous Souls games? I don't remember this being the case.
i mean, people were shitflinging but i don't think it was this bad
I guess that's the consequence of only having a few IPs making all the posts in this thread, in any more active thread a single schizo would get drowned out by actual discussion.
I don't think Vivia is just best boy in this game, he's honestly better than every single male character in Danganronpa by a wide margin
I would do unspeakable things to this sleepy twink
I thought he was just alright but him straight up trying to kill Yuma because he solved the case first and wants to protect Yakou out of admiration and respect for him made him one of my favorites. That knife fight in the submarine was fricking rad.
Best character in the game. Love this guy.
That moment actually made me laugh out loud. I was surprised by how much I liked him and Fubuki towards the end. At the beginning I was almost positive that I was really gonna be frustrated by Fubuki, but some of her lines are incredibly funny
Shame tbhhiko's entire personality amounted to being a pervert.
I'm not some kind of purist that hates sex in video games but it's a little boring that that becomes his only real trait.
Desuhiko was based. Get some taste.
I don't mind that the dude likes breasts I just wish he had more to him besides that
Hopefully his DLC chapter helps that
I hope his DLC chapter makes him more perverted tbqh
he was a walking cliche we've seen a thousand times before (see: teruteru) but somehow i didn't find him that annoying. i think it's because he was helpful and the perversion came in small doses.
It gets tiring after a while. I wanted him to be either a lot more vulgar and perverted, or give him something else beside sexlmao
Yeah, I typically find the token pervert character annoying, but I was surprised to find him to be fun and entertaining despite that.
In hindsight, Halara was the most boring partner in the game for me.
These threads were full of Halaragays at release but now they're nowhere to be found, replaced by a horde of Fubuki simps
I'm surprised Halara ISN'T more popular considering they may or may not have a wiener
>sounds like a woman
>looks like a woman
>yuma: "hmm what could halara be?"
number one ladies and gentlemen
Maybe Halara has a boysmell
The saving grace of tbhhiko is his design and sprite work
Desuhiko was a little annoying at first but I came to like him at the end because he's genuinely friendly to Yuma with no real hesitation besides Yuma being a rookie at the start and after Chapter 2 he really does have your back for the whole game, he's a perv sure, but he's also a genuine bro. In particular I really liked when he was chewing out Vivia for acting like he didn't give a shit about Yakou, it was the only time he really got mad and it cemented his "bro" status for me, dude was absolutely willing to do whatever it took to get everyone out alive
Yeah case 4 was rough for me, I was playing with a friend and I was one the same line of logic as you until I got stuck on "how the killer got past the poison gas room". He caught on before I did, and the hint he gave me was "one assumption you're making here is wrong and will blow the case open", which was the assumption that the killer would want to commit the murder and leave the scene alive. Once it hit me that the killer could have just been willing to give their life to commit the crime it started to make sense and the dread began to set in
Fubuki really made me laugh and she was very hot too. My only gripe with her is that we never got to see her in a bikini. Like we see Shinigami in a bikini but nothing with Fubuki?
Facts.
This is why I hate Makoto. We could have gotten an Electro Cube.
He really is. None of the DR guys hold a candle to him.
remember when he was doing this exact same shtick with death march club and zenki zero
Why do fans of ace attorney-likes all have the exact same stilted speech?
https://blog.hokanko-alt.com/archives/60636533.html
Fun matome if you want to read nips laughing at Kodaka for his flop.
Holy cope, 50K sales first-week on a new IP with an independent studio is goddamn amazing. You bet your ass Kodaka is in full-on champagne-mode right now.
Yes especially as Spike Chunsoft had no involvement.
Are you moronic?
You don't like my sarcasm?
I remember Spike Chunsoft at one point, shortly after the release of Dangan 2 I think, said a Danganronpa game had to sell 30k at full price to be considered a success, I imagine that meant 30k sales was significantly higher than the break even cost, but Rain Code seems to have cost more to make than Danganronpa so I wonder if it's at least a modest success? Also, we have DLC incoming which is a new source of revenue Dangan didn't have.
>new IP 60% lower than another sequel from an established series
>this is bad especially with 50k in opening week
brainrot
Especially when they're comparing it to V3's sales from both platforms on release. It's a dumb article.
Then cherry pick the vita numbers if you want. After all we all know how strong the vita is compared to the puny switch.
Now I know you're shitposting so I accept your concession.
Would it make you feel better to compare it to the ps4 numbers? You could pretend it wasn't released on the vita and that it outsold RC if you want. It's up to you.
Can you guys please specify whether you're talking about Makoto Naegi or the guy from RC whose name is too long
What's the order in who Yuma has sex with first among his harem?
Goddamn. I wish I played with this graphics mod. When is the DLC out?
First DLC comes out on the 27th and then a new DLC episode is released every month through October.
Is it a full case or just a side story?
If I had to guess a side story, since each features one of the four master detectives and they don't have access to the mystery labyrinths on their own.
Logically, Kurumi, Fubuki and then Shinigami.
I enjoyed it a lot, but that's with me being willing to overlook all the various growing pains that came with the switch to 3D and Too Kyo being a fledgling studio.
Ultimately, it was a much more uneven experience than either of the first two Danganronpas, but it shows great promise for future entries, and what's there already was quite good. I'd say it's better than V3 was, and there are already parts that in isolation were better than they were in DR1&2, mainly the overarching plot and the underlying big twists. I also really appreciate that they've just fully leant into the supernatural aspect with the Fortes. It makes for cooler mysteries while with the Ultimate Talent they kind of (not really) still had to be somewhat grounded.
It'll be interesting to see how good the DLC cases will be. If they'll be Ace Attorney DLC quality, then oh boy, this is gonna be really good.
One weird thing to me is the zombies
Like I get it, you have to get rid of the bodies ASAP so they don't turn, but surely the Peacekeepers have never done that perfectly in time all the time, right?
Especially in the slums where it's very likely for some homeless guy to die in a back alley somewhere no one even notices him
Yet no one in the game mentions crazy homeless men biting random people
It takes a day for them to resurrect and assumedly they can be killed again wherein it will take another day for them to come back. So any crazy dudes attacking meat bun stalls are most likely promptly dealt with by Peacekeepers and dumped in the restricted zone like the crackheads they were believed to be.
Desuhiko=>Vivia
>Coldsteel. You can't refute this.
For me it's
Desuhiko=Fubuki=Vivia > Halara
Halara is ranked lowest, but that doesn't mean I dislike her. Vivia may have had the spotlight in the best case of the game but I liked tbhhiko's investigation segment more, and Fubuki saved case 3 all by herself.
I wasn't expecting to like them at all to be frank. Especially after case 0 and coming right after Paranormasight. My brain had to take a while to readjust and tolerate Kodaka's more crazy and maybe childish writing.
One thing I regret is how absent most of them feel outside of their designated chapter. Them not playing a more active on screen role throughout several chapters made them feel like one trick ponies. I really hope the DLCs will be lengthy and show more of them.
>i need to have them on the screen all the time or i will lose my mind
>filtered softies who couldn't handle Halara's shade
Laughing at your lives.
What if Halara sexually blackmailed you for your giant debt to her haha. Sounds awful and I would hate for that to happen to me!
>You can’t pay me back, Yuma? Well, there is another way…
>i can take them all down in 25 seconds
>you came 30 minutes later than expected
>i already solved it, why didn't you?
>go walk around outside and look at the window even though you could just look at the window from the inside
>go walk around outside and look at the window even though you could just look at the window from the inside
She knew Yuma was too short to reach the window from inside.
>they don't like Halara because she's more competent than them
Hahahah
>Typical too-cool-for-school, stoic personality
>Gap moa and gets embarrassed about liking cute things (cats)
>[Insert Shitty Catch-Phrase Here]
Halara's just entirely too generic to be interesting.
>SHE'S SMARTER THAN ME THEREFORE SHE IS SHIT
Jealousy does breed hatred I suppose.
it's ok if you like unrealistic mary sues
Desuhiko is the best because his case is the best, his Forte was weaved into the Investigation the best and he is the most consistently entertaining. All the others are about equal. Biggest disappointment is Fubuki because I was waiting on some major development for her that never came. Maybe her DLC will deliver.
>Fubuki
I agree. I was somewhat hoping she was pretending to be moronic because time powers are broken, I had a moronic theory about her being the culprit in case 4 involving fricked up timespace frickery shit
In the end, glad she remained true to herself.
>That part where Shinigami makes a solution key for Fubuki’s power and acts kinda weird about it
I was getting mildly suspicious of her by that point
>muh character development
Please frick off. I hope she never changes and her DLC has her stay true to herself. Not everyone needs some big development arc.
how about you frick off you vacuous coomer????? fubuki is wasted potential - the character
Drink bleach. Fubuki is fine and I'm glad she didn't change. Sorry if you're too hyperautistic to enjoy a character who doesn't go through some psuedo deep character arc.
It's fine if a character doesn't change, but Fubuki is as stale as bread, so not changing becomes a problem.
Sorry to say but all of the master detectives are one dimensional except for Vivia
Yeah but Vivia and tbhhiko are entertaining, Fubuki is just a pair of walking breasts with the worst line I have ever seen in one of these games ("They call me dummy thicc")
Fubuki has filtered you so hard it's hilarious.
Hyperautism in display. I guess great characters does that to people.
why so mad
it's the schizo, ignore
don't samegay
yes. maybe it's something they could explore with the sequel. as long as it doesn't get too stupid even if it's a dark fantasy game.
I like the Danganronpa series and I liked the first entry in the Master Detective Archives series. I hope this game does well and I look forward to more wacky mysteries.
Get out
Fubuki only holds hands with shotas
Fubuki Cuckhold
why is fubuki so hot hnnnnng
>three of the master detectives have insane abilities like manipulating time and becoming a ghost
>other one is just really good at disguises
Why didn't they make him a Shapeshifter instead? It wouldn't have even been out of place.
Then he'd be able to transform into a girl and perv himself
And he wouldn't be able to help the other detectives pretend to be peacekeepers
And most of the fortes are mental/psychic, not physics-defying
It'll be interesting to see how western sales develop, I'm sure Nintendo backstabbing them and not featuring Rain Code in the direct that happened a literal week before it released did a major dent.
Liked it enough to buy the Limited Edition after beating it on emulator. I really hope it was financially successful.
Imagine being Shinigami and your book gets opened and you're excited to see who wants to make a new pact with you and it's Kurumi
>implying that flat ugly b***h is going to be the one who opens it
She is 100% dropping it and someone else will open it instead.
What do you want to see out of Shinigami in the next game?
Please don't post screenshots like this. It's too soon
More outfits and no black void panties
I want Shinigami to bully the next MC harder in her pursuit for Yuma. Also crank up her b***hiness some more.
Soul Reaping that's tailored to each case instead of the same animation over and over (although it was slightly altered in one)
In Danganronpa the Execution was one of the main things i looked forward to
Good thing this isn't DR so it's fine if she continues to reap people's souls her way. Maybe slightly different variances like what we got in chapter 4 but they don't need to be stylized to fit the person.
>Extra flavor is... le bad!
I think RC handled it well and I hope the sequel doesn't stray from it.
Idunno I think stuff like Shinigami pelting the Nail men with hundreds of nails or trapping the elf guy in a giant barrel of water trying to dodge a giant gun like fish in a barrel would be cool but maybe that's just me
They should be though, it only helps the cases be more memorable. This isn't even exclusive to DR, AA also had unique breakdowns for the culprits. It would be nice for all the reapings to not share the same animation.
>AA also had unique breakdowns for the culprits
this
I both agree and disagree.DR style executions would be out of place and too much.
However, seeing how they wanted to make solving the cases inside the labyrinth more relevant than in the real world, at least giving thematically relevant endings would've helped alleviate that feeling of the characters involved in each case not mattering/being forgettable because of culprits dying off-screen and Yuma solving the mystery not really being acknowledged.
I just don't see the point to it but whatever. Agree to disagree. I personally had no problems with how they did the executions here.
>I just don't see the point to it
Feeling of satisfaction in nailing down the culprits. I want to feel like a king knowing I reaped the soul of someone who thought he could outsmart me and my cool shinigami with their closed rooms
I can be satisfied with just the culprits getting punished with how the game showed it.
Lose the catchphrases. They're fricking awful
>Pucci? Roasted meat
>Halara? Gold digger
>Fubuki? moronic
>Kurumi? Flat and uggo
>Shinigami? Loyal, smart, sexy and cute
Get back in the book, Shinigami.
I'll be honest when Makoto showed up in person in the Labyrinth I half expected him to have his own Death God with an opposing personality to Shinigami
>a second death god
Maybe the sequel ?
Was anyone else expecting (chapter 5 spoiler) The blank week or whatever was connected to the Clockford family? They made such a big deal about their control over the calendar + a big deal over a missing week. What actually happened was interesting (a zombie apocalypse…) but it’s what I was thinking early on in the case
Not every character needs a fricking grand epic psuedo deep reveal.
No don't you see? If Fubuki didn't have her family secretly be the masterminds behind all of these events, then Fubuki's character would be pointless.
Fubuki mating press
that sax made me cum
How long is this game? Could I beat it in less then a week? Trying to decide what game to take with me and been wanting to play this one. But not sure if I should wait until after I get back
My playtime is nearly 30 hours and I beat it in a week with some modest time inbetween cases.
Thanks anons!
A week sounds about right, that's how long I took. Just finished the game today.
Little less than a week playing each day. Felt kinda long. Maybe V3 length.
Fubuki this, Fubuki that. I just want to mating press Guillaume for Christ's sake!
I too want to smash Guillaume but I also want to put a baby in Fubuki.
I want to grope Guillaume and finger her and maybe take her from behind
I want to caress and cuddle with Fubuki and impregnate her missionary style while kissing
Based. I agree with everything you said and more.
Didn't Shinigami have a line early one that was "Mystery Labyrinths can become so large that they influence the real world" or something like that? I was so sure it would be literal and that the story would turn into Persona shit
Fubuki is my favorite character but I'm not going to have a meltdown over someone suggesting she has some more interesting character moments.
hello schizo. why are you using fubuki as a shield?
You are actually insane
not posting fubuki now?
Rank these chapter 5 plot twists
1) Makoto is a homunculus clone of Yuma
2) All citizens in Kanai ward were replaced by zombie versions of themselves
3) Yuma is Number One
4) The real Yuma Kokohead is the ramen shop guy and that’s why the profile said he was a good cook
5) The pink blood twist
6) Onions meat buns
2 > 5 >> 3 > whatever, boring
5 > 6 > 2 > 1 > 4 > 3
Unironically soifaced at 5 and 6
5) > 2) > 6) > 4) > 1) > 3)
2 > 5 > 6 > 3 > 4 > 1
I kind of already suspected 1 and 3 long ago.
>Makoto is a homunculus clone of Yuma
Obvious if you just look at his profile and the fact he's wearing a mask.
>All citizens in Kanai ward were replaced by zombie versions of themselves
Unfeasible.
>Yuma is Number One
Guessable if you consider his memory loss and the fact that they make a big deal out of no one knowing what No.1 looks like.
>The real Yuma Kokohead is the ramen shop guy and that’s why the profile said he was a good cook
Best twist in the game and the scene where Yakou asks Yuma to make him something is natural and doesn't make you suspicious too much.
>The pink blood twist
Cool if you suspend your belief a bit.
>Onions meat buns
Unnecessarily gruesome and edgy.
5 > 2 > 6 > 1 = 3 > 4
I kinda saw 1 and 3 coming but didn't get the exact details right, 4 was a bit dumb but not a big deal because they actually foreshadowed it at the start when Yakou asks Yuma to cook,, 2 was really interesting because I thought the twist would be "people get turned into homonculi" instead of them being copies of the orignals. I think 5 is the only one that 100% caught me off guard even though I noticed Yuma and tbhhiko had red blood in the first couple chapters, I just got used to all the victims having pink blood and it just didn't register to me as strange until homonculi having different blood was mentioned then I remembered and it blew my mind
6 was an okay twist but the funny part is I called it like 5 minutes before it was confirmed
>note mentions homonculi need human flesh to survive
>"hey doesn't everyone in Kanai Ward love those meat buns?"
>walk into meat bun factory and was immediately proven right
Honestly even though the twists were mostly predictable I liked it more than the DR twists because they made sense, plus it felt nice to be able to make a proper theory and have it be confirmed, even if you see it coming you get to feel vindicated versus the DR twists where there's lots of asspulls and you can't always solve the case beforehand and have to wait until the trial gives you enough evidence.
I managed to figure out 6 the moment fake Number One said people worldwide were being kidnapped.. I'd been thinking about meat buns the entire game, and then ramen became important too, so I knew something was up with the food.
I genuinely thought Yuma was a second homunculus, and the Makoto was the first Homunculus of Number 1. Still think that would be a better twist.
Also, why did Shinigami get so worked up over the old dude?
>Also, why did Shinigami get so worked up over the old dude?
Because she knew he wasn't Number One
Well he only sees Shinigami in that form in the labyrinth and they don't have a lot of time in that place.
>Well he only sees Shinigami in that form in the labyrinth and they don't have a lot of time in that place.
That's what bugs me though and feels like bad writing to me. There's no way that Yuma would go the whole labyrinth not wanting to frick Shinigami in that place. It felt jarring not seeing him do anything with her.
It's bad writing for Yuma to focus on the task in finding the truth in the limited time he has before he dies instead of trying to do the dirty with Shinigami while they waste time?
Are you serious right now?
You know every time they transition into a new hallway scene? They frick in between those and Yuma stops thinking with his dick. It all checks out
>dude what if Monokuma and Junko were actually good guys and help you
>this somehow actually works really well
Waruna is my favorite character
>nothing murderer
nani?
it was funny how his boss duped him
Goof taste.
The scene where she's angry when Yoshiko/Kurane come into her room is interesting in retrospect.
It's the resting b***h face angry eyebrows
Did everyone in the academy have another character designer or something? I thought they all looked weird
yeah they were drawn by a secondary artist
their sprites were a bit off but the 3d character models seemed fine
I think they were done by Shimadooiru. He did the CG work for the game as well. Like he did with the DR games in the past.
for me it's that shy girl with the hair covering her eye
it seems like no one likes the studious one
Shinigami killing her is what made Waruna cooler. I loved hearing her screams when she got boom-killed by the laser.
Absolutely, the best part of the whole chapter is when those three murderous b***hes die, especially with all the seething it's caused.
Was kino for sure. Wish I could replay that scene over and over again.
Anyone read the Yakou novel? I found it pretty cool seeing Yakou's high school days.
Yuma and Makoto being the same height and even WEIGHT should have clued people in that they had a direct connection with each other.
The weight thing is funny because it must just be a coincidence. The scene where Makoto goes 'you're my...' to Yuma in a meaningful way after saying he's Number One's son was too much.
But the data on Makoto only popped up after that convo iirc. Either way, that convo and the data. It should have been obvious they had some connection. Atleast being twins or something.
That's a callback to the Junko / Mukuro twist which did the exact same thing. I doubt many if any people that played DR1 didn't catch that.
>main character is literally unkillable due to magic luck
>main character was scientifically engineered to be god himself
>main character is the greatest mind in the entire world
When will Kodaka realize that playing as a complete nobody is more interesting?
Funny how he has his protagonists start off being unremarkable normies compared to their peers only to reveal they're more broken than the rest of them.
Tbf, wasn't there that flashback which showed "Yuma" talking with someone and how Number One had walked by them with the Book of Death?
>flashback
That scene was pretty clever with the 'Yuma' trick but it also gave away that Number One was a midget.
What was said about Number One in that flashback? I forgot the conversation other than "Yuma" and one of the detectives talking about him and the book he was carrying in his hands.
You guys can't tell me that you honestly suspected Yuma was Number One early on.
I thought he seemed way too dumb to be him
No but I thought the twist was going to be that Yuma and Makoto were both younger clones of him and it was a Big Boss Twin Snakes situation
In games like this the second you're told someone has amnesia you need to ask yourself, 'okay, who is he really?'
Based off of some dialogue early on I expected the whole twist was going to be that the "real" Yuma died and that an entirely different Soul made a deal with Shinigami to go back to the living for unfinished business by using Yuma's corpse and gave up memories in exchange
i suspected he was connected to number one in some way because of the amnesia and the fact that he had the book and forged the pact with shinigami. then we get clues later on how that book was in wdo's possession and was a classified secret and presumably heavily guarded so how did a trainee like yuma get his hands on it? then we had shinigami mention that her prior partner or whatever had said the same things number one says which meant that number one had used the book before yuma.
then we have makoto saying he's number one's son and then saying yuma is his "...." and them being the same height and weight so that's when i was positive there was a connection between yuma and number one.
i was definitely floored over yuma being number one himself and that the old guy we saw was just his body double.
Punished teacher
Something about her gives the feeling that she goes home and jerk offs for hours.
I was just about to post that
So tbhhiko is going to save her right?
They’ll be married with children in Master Detective 2
Based. tbhhiko deserves it.
I ship these two
It's either tbhhiko/Martina or tbhhiko/Sensei
He can't have them both.
Martina will do anyone
Martina will have him disguise himself as Yomi
>Martina demanding that tbhhiko calls her a dog while he's pounding her with Yomi's face
i love this track so much, it's so calming
Would you trade all your memories for a Shinigami?
>Kodaka: Yes. You probably won't realize it when playing, but the world of "Rain Cord" is the same one as New Danganronpa V3. What does this mean...? I will leave that to the player to figure out.
Woah...
>Kodaka: Yes. You probably won't realize it when playing, but the title "Rain Code" is just "Danganronpa" spelled backwards
Whoa...
How did that Sonic game even turn out?
It's okay, though the twist that Sonic isn't really dead ruins it.
Garbage tier list anyway, AAI 2 has no right being this low
>AAI2 anywhere lower than at least A
Disregarded.
How would a killing game with these 16 characters as students go? I tried to stick to characters who could pass as Danganronpa-esque teens, and only chose one of the four acting girls cause they’re kinda the same anyways.
1. Yuma Kokohead, Ultimate Detective
2. Vivia Twilight, Ultimate Medium/Spiritualist
3. Aphex Logan, Ultimate Hunter
4. Zilch Alexander, Ultimate Tamer
5. Pucci Lavmin, Ultimate Empath?
6. tbhhiko Thunderbolt, Ultimate Disguise Artist
7. Halara Nightmare, Ultimate Gambler
8. Fubuki Clockford, Ultimate Heiress
9. Melami Goldmine, Ultimate Fashionista
10. Yomi Hellsmile, Ultimate Disciplinarian
11. Guillaume Hall, Ultimate Astrologer
12. Kurumi Wendy, Ultimate Informant
13. Waruna, Ultimate Actress
14. Icardi, Ultimate Swimmer
15. Iruka, Ultimate Sharpshooter
16. Servan, Ultimate Tinkerer
Terrible. Next question.
>Guillaume Hall, Ultimate Astrologer
?????
she likes to tell fortunes
She makes up horoscopes for fun, don't tell me you mistook astrologer for astronomer.
Aphex kills Fubuki
Zilch and tbhhiko are killed together Tsumugi
Melami kills Vivia and Halara
Pucci is killed by Yomi, but during the class trial the remainder vote for Yuma, so everyone but Yomi dies.
>Tsumugi
I meant Iruka, dunno how that happened. Iruka kills Zilch and tbhhiko.
You'll never kill Fubuki. Imagine trying to kill someone who can just turn back time whenever she's in trouble. Even Makoto acknowledged that she'd be the hardest to kill.
>Even Makoto acknowledged that she'd be the hardest to kill.
when did he say that? and fubuki's power is not limitless. it's dependent on her stamina and causes her great strain. she just so happens to have bad stamina so she can't just keep using it over and over again.
When you encounter all of the skeletons and clothing in the factory that Makoto set up to trick you, he 'admits' that Fubuki lasted the longest despite being the dumbest, and says it's because her power is overpowered.
ahh i see. so i guess it's his admission that with her power, fubuki's the strongest/most dangerous detective. yakou said as much earlier in the game iirc.
even though it was all faked, it's interesting how makoto pretty much believes in terms of who dies faster than the other would be tbhhiko first, halara second, vivia third and fubuki last and we didn't find her "remains" for awhile unlike the others so that tells you a lot about fubuki's broken power.
>Halara second to die
>Fubuki survived the longest
So how is Halara best girl over Fubuki again? And people wondered how she survived her trip to Kanai.
>Characters Who Wouldn't Commit Murder: Yuma, Pucci, tbhhiko, Fubuki, Iruka, Kurumi
>Characters Who Might Commit Murder: Vivia, Aphex, Zilch, Halara, Yomi, Guillaume, Waruna, Icardi, Servan
Fubuki is just blue Sonia.
I don't know who that is but it's ugly so I'll post Fubuki instead.
>drool
frick
Why didnt Vivia just ghost mode right into Amaterasu corporation at the beginning
Or hell ghost mode into the restricted area
>le lazy xDDD
Halara and Vivia are terrible characters
>only competent detectives in the game
>terrible
Brainlet alert! Brainlet alert!
Being competent detectives don't make them likeable.
Desuhiko and Fubuki carried the show
>the two moron detectives carried the show
Brainlet alert! Brainlet alert!
>schizo rambling
Seething! Seething!
There is one scene where Shinigami reveals that Yuma was staring. Or rather, Yuma confirming her suspicions.
Something like:
>I don't stare that often!
What a dirty little boy. Send him to jail I say
>I don't stare that often!
he was also popping boners around fubuki as well. especially when he saw her in that maid outfit. guy was staring at those breasts and creamy legs.
Because he is lazy. Did you miss that part?
>Work
Makes me want to die someday...
Viva stop posting
dude couldn't even be bothered to get up from the floor to eat
>has one of the most broken abilities in the entire game
>not enough motivation to use it properly
This says a lot about society
Moments that made you fall in love with a character
I don't understand Yuma. He has shown signs of attraction towards Kurumi and Fubuki because of their looks but not Shinigami? He's a closet pervert so why not think of trying to plow Shinigami or something?
you can't have sex with dead people wtf
I thought about that constantly. Shinigami can obviously read his mind, so he had no slip-ups? More unrealistic than anything that happened in the entire DR series
I don't have the image but in Chapter 2 when you go into the Labyrinth with tbhhiko:
>Shinigami vomits up the solution keys
>Desuhiko: "She's perfect. I'm in love."
I was already excited for their interactions after seeing tbhhiko perv on the high school girls but the second he said that I knew I was in for a few good laughs.
>during the timeskip between RC1 and RC2 the detectives train to improve their abilities
>fubuki trains so hard she becomes a fricking monster and is able to rewind time for up to a week alone
They should have already completed their training but it's possible they could train and get stronger especially tbhhiko and Fubuki who's weaknesses rely on their stamina when using their Fortes. But yeah if Fubuki trains and builds her stamina well, she'd be a monster for sure and I think WDO would be worried about if she turned on them.
Number One and Fubuki are made for each other.
You know why?
Because Fubuki can at least count on him.
>one is the best detective with the best mind in the world while the other has one of the most powerful abilities in the world
their children would be world enders
kek
i'm glad they didn't try to make him come off sympathetic. i was worried in chapter 4 that he was friends with yakou and his wife in the past and that was why phantom yomi kept trying to get in the way of the truth with yakou. but instead we got the complete opposite and he was the mega butthole who pushed yakou over the edge to do what he did. guy made even vivia seethe with rage.
i honestly liked yomi more than makoto imo.
yomi chads where you at? loved seeing how twisted guy was, makoto is way better final boss true but having yomi as the big bad boy was kino
Frick off, Martina
His phantom reminded me of how Zeus looked in SMT 5
back to your cube
>tfw even Shinigami's afraid of Yomi
He wasn't an amazing villain by any means but he was "fun to hate" and his spergouts were entertaining. I think he works because Makoto is a mastermind with a sympathetic motive basically trying to salvage a horrible situation for the sake of his own kind, so having Yomi be completely unsympathetic and just being a c**t is a nice contrast. His mystery phantom form was also really cool compared to the others. I wish we got to see him at least one more time after he got taken away at the end of Chapter 4
He'll be in the DLC episodes. Believe. Maybe we'll also find out what the frick happened with Seth too.
>Maybe we'll also find out what the frick happened with Seth too.
he got sent out to execution. whether he got saved by makoto like martina did is anyone's guess.
Just finished chapter 3... I think the character that surprised me most so far is Yomi of all people. From prerelease material I was expecting him to be some arrogant frick who has no clue about anything and would be swiftly dealt with halfway through or earlier. But he seems to be completely unhinged and important in some way.
He gets better in chapter 4. Trust me.
Martina, what is love?
BABY DONT CUBE ME
DONT CUBE ME
NO MORE
yomi's best line
So what’s up with the ramen?
It's very nutritious.
so what did fake zilch used to set the detectives on fire? also why did he stab aphex if he was being burnt to death anyways?
He set them on fire using the alcohol at the bar, you see an empty bottle by Melami's body. The knife was to throw Yuma off the idea that they were all put to sleep with drugged drinks, since you got lit on fire you'd naturally start running around burning and screaming. Not sure why there was no knives for the other bodies, but I think that was the idea.
i'm a brainlet but the alcohol alone couldn't have been what set them on fire. did he have some sort of match or something? but i wonder was aphex stabbed before he was burned or afterwards?
I don't 100% recall but I do believe he had a lighter. He stabbed Aphex's body after he was burned because of the lack of blood on the knife or around the scene, if it was before the burning there'd be a good amount of blood.
that's true. the lack of blood would mean it had to have been afterwards. if he had a knife on him, then having a lighter on him isn't impossible. i kind of wonder what he would have done had yuma not been sick which gave fake zilch an idea to use him.
Yeah, the only real major complaint I have with the case is "why didn't the killer just kill everyone, why pin it on Yuma" but I know early on they mention the tension between the UG and Kanai Ward so I imagine that they want to pin it on a WDO member so as to not give the UG an excuse to crack down on Kanai Ward.
Detectives are incredibly flammable.
SEX WITH HER, PUCCI
>Zilch is the only person who can't show his powers
That should have been an immediate red flag to everyone else. If zilch really did have an animal Forte he would've brought some along for the ride
melami couldn't show off her powers either.
That's true, though her requiring a corpse makes her not being to show off more reasonable compared to zilch
How so? He doesn't need to carry animals with him at all times. His power is simply controlling whatever nearby animal that is around to do his bidding.
A detective who specializes in using animals should always have one by his side, size is not even an issue seeing that a few simple mice would do, so the fact that Zilch did not bring any animal to Kanai even though he does not know if he will find an animal in the city is suspicious.
No that is ridiculous. There is animals literally everywhere. Zilch can easily just use the animals at Kanai for his investigation purposes. I see nothing suspicious about having no animals with him or else we should question why Melami didn't have a dead boy with her too.
You can love pets and not have them with you 24/7. I don't understand this reasoning.
He’s a detective from the WDO he would most definitely bring a mouse or at something at least knowing how dangerous kanai was at the time.
Or just use the animals that will likely be present in Kanai. He doesn't need to actually carry the animals on him like come on. What is having a mouse on him going to protect him from the dangers of Kanai?
>Amerterasu corporation employee
Maybe so but a lover of animals would likely have some of them around him at all times. Real Zilch likely had his own pets as well
>Zilch is the only person who can't show his powers
Neither could Melami so that doesn't exactly mean much.
Maybe the train didn't allow animal companions
It had no train conductor or any staff. Who was gonna stop them?
Me, the AI train
I thought maybe it would be revealed that his ability counts humans as animals too.
No idea how you came to that idea.
Then he'd probably still have Yuma drink the coffee and get knocked out and still probably use him as the scapegoat because Yuma looked the weakest.
Meant to reply here
>No idea how you came to that idea.
Is it so far fetched?
Well yeah. They specifically said his power works on animals and I'm sure they do not consider humans in that same category.
Then he started talking about mammals though and it made me think why would humans be any different then? We only had his word to go on anyway.
Well if he said all that, then I suppose it's not completely ridiculous. Too bad we can never find out now.
he said he can only control four legged mammals. last i checked, humans had two legs.
Maybe his ability would work on Kanai ward citizens?
hahahahaha
get shit on loser waifukeks
Had Aphex, Zilch real one , Melami, Zange and Pucci managed to make it to Kanai, how helpful would their powers had been for the Nocturne Agency's cases?
Melami or Pucci could solve Case 2 by being able to either wear Karen's clothes and use Melami's forte or Pucci hearing the glass exchange during the show
Pucci or Aphex could also solve Case 4 by detecting Yakou in the security corridor, but both of those also required Desuhiko's disguise to get into in the first place
That being said Chapters 3 and 4 both required Fubuki's powers so eventually it would start to fall apart.
>Melami or Pucci could solve Case 2 by being able to either wear Karen's clothes and use Melami's forte or Pucci hearing the glass exchange during the show
I'll give you Melami since they're around the same height and weight iirc(even though they won't learn anything relating to the current case other than getting confirmation on how Aiko died), I don't think Pucci's power will be helpful here as she needs to be concentrating to hear those things and she usually has her headphones on.
I could definitely see her being useful there in chapter 4 which would ruin Yakou's plan and Aphex would be redundant if Pucci already found the killer before they did anything.
I sadly can't see how Zange could be helpful here.
>I sadly can't see how Zange could be helpful here.
He could use his power to capture vital moments or clues that Halara's power didn't cover.
Don't see how that could help as much. I recall Kodaka too felt that Zange's Forte was outdated with smartphones being a thing so it wouldn't be as useful as it would have been years ago.
Probably why Zange is also old
Yeah. Maybe he was gonna retire soon. Probably wasn't expecting it to come that soon.
Why did Yomi or any of the higher ups at Amaterasu never try to leave Kanai?
Why would they leave the place where they have all the power and can do whatever they want?
Because Kanai is a miserable place and one of the perks of having lots of money is going on nice holidays. Also when Yomi was makings deals with outsiders about the homunculus research you would have thought some of them would have wanted to meet him in person.
Yomi made those deals to help expand his power over Kanai and toss Makoto out. I doubt he had any plans on leaving his fortress. He can go on vacations outside but Kanai is his playground and he says as much himself many times. It's HIS city.
>leave the place you have the power at to go.....
So sandstorm code for the next game?
Depends on if that city Yuma's at will be plot relevant and not just used to show that "Yuma's out there helping people and the story continues...." as an ending.
I don't think I really get the intentions behind people who are so autistically insistent that this game isn't at least DR adjacent. I figure this game is pretty much aimed at the DR audience given a lot of its quirks and mechanics, but just set in a different universe with different shit going on. That's not a bad thing of course. Just genuinely wanna know what is upsetting you people.
why do you keep bringing up shit from hours ago? are you truly autistic? the current discussions have nothing to do with danganronpa right now.
Literally just got here autist, didn't catch most of the thread. I've simply seen people sperging out about it and decided to bring it up.
zange would've been completely useless, all cell phones are confiscated.
Oh yeah I forgot about that. Unless Zange manages to hide a second smartphone, then yeah his power is pretty much useless.
Doesn't it work with any screen not just phones? He only used a cell phone for his example.
They mentioned he uses the smartphone to use his power but I suppose it's possible he could use his power on a TV screen too. If he touches it I suppose?
No one with a name that cool can be useless.
He looks very cool but his Forte is sadly very useless.
He's probably like Yakou anyway. Had more detective talent instead of relying on his forte. Yakou is proof you don't need to have stand powers to achieve your goals
That is true. Zange's likely been with WDO longer than Yakou has so he probably has a lot of experience under his belt and a lot of intelligence as well.
Even if he can't use his Forte, I feel he would still be useful in his own way with deductions.
shame that he jobbed in chapter 0 and failed to suspect the poisoned glasses
