Ganker are content with FF DMCslop
I'll play it when it comes out I'm not gonna watch the usual Japanese trailers where they spoil the entire game before its out.
Wasn't it Switch exclusive?
Yeah. Probably timed but still, if you don't want to play on switch, your options are wait and hope, or emulate.
Sexo
>no black people
I aint buying. Modern games need diversity to represent how our society is.
Simple as
It's a Japanese game, so it represents how Japanese society is perfectly
world's end club 2
timed exclusivity + no marketing mean no one will play it and it'll only get discussed for a few days after release, or whenever it leaks
Millions of switch owners sn0y
i worry sometimes that posts like this aren't ironic.
>We talked about potentially making it multiplatform before, but this announcement made me realize the effect of narrowing it down to one platform. It would be a different story with an AAA title, but there are so many AA and A titles that it would get buried if it were multiplatform. It was Spike Chunsoft who made the decision to make it Switch-only, and I think it was a wise one.
>Nintendo Direct has much more influence than State of Play, so that seems like an advantage of making it Switch-only. Although developed by other companies, Nintendo Direct announced Triangle Strategy while State of Play announced The DioField Chronicle, both of which are Square Enix games with similar needs, and yet their sales numbers are completely different. I don’t think that’s an issue with the games themselves. It seems like a difference in promotion from my outside perspective.
SC has been pushing it pretty hard (for SC) in Japan too
>we're making it Switch exclusive because it will sell more
Absolute chads. Snoys get the rope.
This is a consequence of Sony giving their back to Japan.
they're onto the fact that even if you're third party, making a game exclusive to switch can expose it to people who would not otherwise give it a chance
they're unfortunately oblivious to the fact that you do not get this treatment when you announced your game before committing to making it switch exclusive, and showed what it looked like running on better hardware than the switch, then revealed the switch version with blatant quality and performance issues that give the appearance of a ported multiplatform game
They wouldn't do it if the DR games hadn't sell well on the Switch and those were very late ports.
27,626 units before falling off Famitsu's weekly charts. Presumably it sold better in the west, but I can't find any international sales figures.
The only info on the later ports for DR in the west was that it did well on Switch, more than Vita and PS4 did and Spike Chunsoft were really happy with it. But it surprisingly did ridiculously well on Xbox with the Game Pass launches, especially the first game, that it genuinely surprised SC and the creators how much of an interest there was. The series is a bit of an odd duck when it comes to how well it did on different platforms.
Famitsu charts are physical only, aren't they?
This is the excuse reason.
Real reason is because the game will have sexy fanservice and they don't want to cut it down for Snoy.
World’s end club was a really bad game. And also some Apple play exclusive or some shit. Before being Nintendo exclusive. It was also not very good so there was nothing to talk about.
Jury’s still out if rain code’ll be any good.
to be perfectly fair, world's end club was fricking AWFUL. I dare you to name a single redeeming quality. it had none. legitimately one of the worst games I've ever played. if rain code is a 3/10 it will still get fifty times more discussion than that fricking game.
>I dare you to name a single redeeming quality.
the character designs were cute.
it felt like the characters were my friends.
it had ogata megumi in it.
Kodaka gave up on it, it's pretty obvious watching him talk about an announcement, then stop talking about it out of nowhere to moce onto his baseball anime. Something happened mid development with that game, and I'd love to get the backstage disaster report.
is it even popular enough to get leaked? we're 10 days from release and it barely even gets threads. the most we're likely to get is one of those circlejerk discords posting screenshots for attention but pussying out of dumping it.
You'd think with how big DR is it would get a rip just for that, but seems that they don't care about "Almost DR", only "Exactly DR".
I'm waiting to see if it's good before buying it. I really enjoyed Danganronpa 2 and V3 so will probably enjoy this too unless they absolutely shit the bed.
>switch exclusive
wake me up in 5 years when the release the real version.
That is the real version.
This is the real version, enjoy it in bed with a beautiful OLED screen. It was always wrong to play Danganronpa NOT on the Switch.
it's nintendo, it'll only be 6-8 months.
Top right is chuunikino
>le old guy
Probably is going to be the first to die
I don't know if that many detectives will get killed, but he is 100% guaranteed to die. His superpower is transcribing what he sees and thinks to his phone, which is a painfully obvious set-up for a "dying moments message" case late in the game.
He's Divination Seance Victim: The Character.
>Wtf bros?
Not on steam.
Lost all interest the instant they introduced le special magic detective skills, say goodbye to any kind of good writing when everything is going to be resolved with anime powers.
DRV3's last chapter sucked and the TL literally inserted Trump jokes. It's hard to get excited, especially when they're upfront with magical bullshit.
>Implying le super talents are not the exact same thing
>TL literally inserted Trump jokes
context?
In Case 2 it's revealed that the killer did it because She's actually the real power behind the japanese goverment and she needs to get out so she can keep running the country. The english version inserts a "Make Japan Great Again" that feels painfully out of place with the rest of the motive rant.
>preordered limited edition
>have no love for plushies
I hope the soundtrack is good. I would have preferred a poster.
Any relatively recent detective / mystery games?
Last one I played was Sekimeiya which some anon recommended before. Was fun.
Process of Elimination, but I haven't played it yet, so I can't say if it's good
Looks interesting but Switch / PS4 sucks. Maybe if I ever undust my PS4.
Put it on my wishlist. Seems a bit too short for full price.
Thanks, guys.
i think paranormasight is on game pass if you want to test to see if it worth getting
PARANORMASIGHT is good stuff
Looking forward to the /ss/ porn and the porn in general, outside of that Its going to be absolute shit just like with Danganronpa.
The name is too generic.
The art is too generic.
The game is probably also too generic.
The porn absolutely will be too generic.
Danganronpa is anti-kino
Ace attorney aspects will balance it out to make a painfully average game
>Danganronpa is anti-kino
Only because of lore autism and the formulaic progression. It struggles in the same way Raging Loop did: You really can't make the game's setup make sense in the context of the real world without invoking pure bullshit. Dangan 1 got around this issue by just playing into the absurdity of a high school girl destroying the world, and ending without telling you what happened afterward. Dangan 2 put off dealing with the issue until the last minute, and then everything up to V3 suffered because of it.
V3 managed to be good because they made up a ton of stories, constantly destroyed their own script for theming, and gave a giant middle finger to Dangan lore autism. It just gets shit on because you'd only buy and appreciate V3 if you loved the previous two games, and that selects for VN lore autists.

V3 began falling apart from Chapter 4 where characters became horribly OoC and Chapter 5 was a shitshow in desperation to match the "epic" tension of 2-5. And its ending came off as though Kodaka had enough of the series and wanted exit in the most explosive way possible. Mind you, he left the company after V3 released.
>V3 began falling apart from Chapter 4 where characters became horribly OoC and Chapter 5 was a shitshow in desperation to match the "epic" tension of 2-5.
Both of which are caused by the secondary plot and meta-commentary in line with the game's theme.
You'd have a case if the OoC actions of a character were driven from the character connecting with their true personalities. But that wasn't the case. It has nothing to do with the meta-commentary and everything to do with shitty writing.
>It has nothing to do with the meta-commentary and everything to do with shitty writing.
No, "true personalities" would just be cliché. Their OoC actions come from Team Danganronpa constantly fricking up the story to patch issues in a rushed way. The fan-favorite/main character from the previous season died instantly, with the heroine going shortly after (notice his room being in section 5, not 1); Angie destroyed the plot update device, then shut down the plan to "resurrect" Kaede; Miu put literal shit in front of the audience surrogate, necessitating her immediate death, etc.
>$60
>No Mikan
Why bother?
didn't the people making this leave spike chunsoft to go make their own studio only a few years ago? why are they already back making not-danganronpa?
they got bored and their other projects flopped. also, they're still at that separate studio working on this and other things, this game is just a collaboration between the new studio and spike chunsoft.
the danganronpa fanbase is full of troons so if there aren't any threads its because they already 41% themselves
your favorite video game's fanbase is full of troons too moron
nah only tranime, indieslop and aaa slop attracts them so not everything is infested by the gay/feminist/troon alliance.
>with a fully explorable city
Means nothing because it's a mystery VN spinoff. That genre doesn't lend itself to open-world gameplay. You're just scattering the necessary pieces over a larger space and making connections more difficult. It'd be better to use that dev time writing extra dialogue or making additional cases to put in the base game.
>spinoff
what? a spinoff of what series?
grug no understand shared art style. grug think game is sequel. grug think junko mastermind again.
if I play this entire game and there are zero references or implications to danganronpa, but at the end with zero fricking warning junko shows up as the mastermind, I'm gonna lose my mcfricking marbles
To be fair, there's at least a 10% chance of there being a Danganronpa reference somewhere in the game.
The best we can hope for is that it's just a cheeky nod and nothing else.
I don't have a Zelda machine, I thought games like these come to other places.
not on pc so dont care
Can we expect a decent OST atleast? Same composer who did Danganronpa
Well, they put out an OST preview a month ago
damn it's pretty bad, no wonder nobody is hyped for this
>too kyo games
its gonna be dogshit
What was Kodaka thinking?
I liked it
It will be shit and flop like anything kodaka has done afte danganronpa
i am waiting for deka police or whatever is call by level 5.
why should i be excited by tranime slop? made by the troon worshippers at spike chunsoft.
Sorry but I just can't stomach that art style
Kodaka is a hack and every story he has written has been a plot hole filled mess. The only reason danganronpa was ever popular is because the hook of the story (murder mystery battle royale) is fricking gold, but everything outside that (story, world building, characters, etc.) was always bad even in the first two games.
i like fubuki so she's probably going to be killed off first
I still didn't play Danganronpa 3.
You can't play DR3.
Much more gameplay than in Umineko buttlercuck
How much gameplay does Umineko have?
It has quiz section in the final episode. That's all.
>an anime has more gameplay than a visual novel
dr3 is a tv show
It's got that horrible dangan-ronpa character art that looks like fricking dog shit, perhaps that has something to do with the total lack of hype. That and dangan-ronpa also being utter dog shit.
Take your homosexual shit to reddit or something.
>brings up reddit out of nowhere
I think you're lost, kid. why don't (you) go back?
>V3 brainlet filtered Ganker so hard they are still malding about it all these years later

>>New detective game [...]Danganronpa
>Wtf bros?
I have a little something called "Pattern recognition," and I've long since recognized that the Danganronpa guy is an absolute brainlet.
i think it looks fun.
I want raincode to succeed, because Kodaka is really good at writing murder mysteries and pretty much dogshit at writing anything else. Best to have him in his area of expertiece, and the less overarching plot the better.
Which will be the better Anime murder mystery game involving going to a virtual world to solve crimes that releases on switch only in 2023 be? Not-DR or Detective Furry?
Decapolice is multiplat, though.
So it is. They sure are keeping the PS release quiet, though.
Well, no steam version means I'll go with the switch anyway.
I genuinely can't say, since both of their creators are frickknuckles who are good at coming up with premises for mysteries, but invariably shit the bed by the ending.
So I'm guessing it'll come down to whether Level-5 can successfully bridge the gap in Decapolice between turn-based JRPG battles and murder mystery VN in a meaningful way, to give it the edge over the tried-and-true formula that Rain Code's going with, or frick it up and have it be half-baked.
>tried-and-true formula that Rain Code's going with
they're doing the "6 chapters, 1 murder per chapter" thing again?
Probably. They're doing mostly the same formula as DR for the gameplay, just with slight twists like having to dodge in the debate minigame.
I'm more referring to the "crime happens, search crime scene for all evidence, go to other location to take an extensive logic quiz to answer the mysteries and expose the culprit, conclude case, repeat" formula that you see in Danganronpa, Ace Attorney, and many others.
But I wouldn't be surprised if Rain Code ends up with about 6 main cases in the game, since the range of 4-7 cases seems to be the sweet spot, and we've got about 2.5 confirmed cases thus far.
At the very least the existance of 4 DLC packs confirms at least 4 cases beyond the base game's.
...Assuming, of course, the "four substories" equals four entire extra cases, and not just four extra sidequests or four extra VN backstories for particular detectives.
I'm hoping for the former, but the bizarreness of a murder mystery game having a fricking season pass is making me temper my expectations.
Based on what little we get, my guess is each will be a case where you play as one of the other detectives/a group of them?
I think it would be hard to add more content that isn't a case, even if it's a mini-case.
>I think it would be hard to add more content that isn't a case, even if it's a mini-case.
Well, sidequests are already confirmed to be in the game, which themselves seem to be very mini cases.
Make four of them that are slightly bigger and involve the help of another detective, and boom, Season Pass content.
>but the bizarreness of a murder mystery game having a fricking season pass is making me temper my expectations.
Shouldn't be much different from buying a second Sherlock Holmes novel.
there's zero chance they're full fledged cases if it's anything like DR at all. that'd be like 30 hours of vn
>fully explorable city
what's the fricking point?
>ChatGPT, can you make me a thread OP I can use to shill Rain Code?
ChatGPT could likely write a better murder mystery than this hack writer
>kohacka
Unironically one of the worst writers not just in gaming, but in all of Japan.
>4 day one dlcs making it more expensive than ToTK
am I the only one that finds this frickign ridiculous? are you guys seriously paying all that money???
No
They aren't Day 1
They're releasing one at a time every month from July to October
I'm not paying for Nintendo shit lol don't be ridiculous
I haven't paid for a switch game or dlc ever since emulators became a thing
They banned my switch so I can't even buy them lmao. Frick DLC
>dangan artstyle
>dangan writer
pass
they shouldn't have bothered with 3d and overworld
>trusting this hack who writes 90% of his stories with amnesia shitposts
