It's partly due to the game giving you all the clues before the labyrinth, contrary to Phoenyx Wright or Danganronpa. It's good for deducing but it makes labyrinth very boring.

I enjoyed my time with the game but the fast forward button got used a lot and Kodaka can't write a twist to save his life.
While the Switch exclusivity is likely temporary, one has to wonder if at this stage, PS/Xbox ports are even worth it. I think they'd sell very little, and also there would be a significant amount of resources needed to censor the game and dialogue (lots of "problematic" dialogue that Resetera complained about) in order to be greenlit for those platforms.
It might end up just getting a shadow dropped Steam release in 6-12 months.

As someone who played both, I still prefer DR. The style of gameplay of those games works much better when the cast is consistent all over the same instead of constantly introducing new random guys who you know are just fodder.
Even if they change the game to be a DR spinoff and have the mc be a reincarnation of nagito or something the game still fricking sucks as a mystery detective game. Mysteries too easy, lots of useless fetch quest shit (whoever thought up Requests should be shot ), and the way labyrinths are setup lends no interactivity with the 'real world' while your investigation is proceeding.
This is not even accounting for the weak plot where we have three filler cases before the plot moves any meaningful amount.

the game sucks, but I like the atmopshere and world of kanai ward. If SC wants to go forward with Master detective archives, they to streamline the gameplay. Theres just too much time Yuma walking or jumping forward, sometimes it feels like im playing a sony movie game. Maybe make the labyrinth an actual labyrinth next time

The pivot to Switch exclusivity seemed to come from seeing how Direct marketing pays off as well as the rapidly declining PS Japan market.
