As a PS+ Premium subscriber the current is demonstrably dogshit. They're porting fricking Killzone Liberation ahead of the God of War PSP games. The last few months for Essential, Extra and Premium tiers have been woeful on their own let alone with the recent price increase. So little is being released that makes you want to subscribe. It's all just "yeah maybe I'll play it" at best.

I’m not sure why Sony is self sabotaging like this. PS Plus Extra actually used to be an insane value. A comparable library to gamepass(except that it lacks day one games) for way less money. Although Xbox started it Sony managed to slip it in with only a whisper of complaints due to how bad Xbox fricked up with used game limits and always online, it probably would have gotten more resistance if Xbox didn't hand Sony the ps4 generation on a platter.
You talk like they didn't introduce a bunch of positive things and like Sony was forced to adopt their methods. Remember when you had to pay for memory cards? Just like now when Sony raised the price of the base MP by 33% (Xbox stayed the same for the base sub) you still try to explain how it was Microsoft's fault despite they own like 10% of the market. Sony normalized online pay when they took over the market. In the 360 era MS was the outlier. Now Sony is the norm.

I'm sure Microsoft with the 10% marketshare forced Sony and Nintendo to do it. Xbox was never in first place to normalize anything. If Sony and Nintendo didn't follow (which is somehow not their fault) online pay would have disappeared.

If you were older you would know Microsoft started paid online with the original Xbox when they were on the bottom of the barrel as their opponents were the Playstation 2 and Gamecube and they had no legacy. Sony absolutely dominated that era and to this day nobody can beat the PS2.

The entire online infrastructure of Sony was copied from Xbox Live. MS introduced built in storage. They offer free could saves which is not new unless you play on Nintendo and Sony systems where it is a paid service. I don't see people blaming anyone for that though.

I have never purchased a service for PC or any console ever. I will never do so. when it comes time that steam requires payment just to use, I will go back to pirating everything on PC without a single thought of guilt. there is no need to pander to these corporations, simply steal everything they have that is worth playing, they don't deserve anything from you, they are not your friend, they don't care about you, and the marketing manipulation techniques they use to make you think they do should be illegal.

Honestly done with Sony. For years their big name releases are just trash. I do t give a frick about a spiderman game where you can only fight one enemy at a time, or a god of war where the guy who killed thousands of people tells his wife's son about the meaning of life
It's because they only increased the yearly price. The monthly price isn't touched and i doubt many people were buying yearly at full price anyway as there is sales every year
anyone who would care about this either don't have a subscription in the first place or already unsubscribed. It was a quick issue with a quicker resolution.
