Going to build a 3rd Edition Bretonnian army with the leader riding a Ral Partha dragon. Is this a good idea?
Heck yeah anon
Also, cackling over here at the ‘literally just Burgundy’ heraldry of that army. Gotta love it.
Pls give frog his chair his sciatica is terrible this time of year
>Pls give frog his chair his sciatica is terrible this time of year
do the slans' magic chairs cure sciatica? Where can I get one?
>a horde of mobility scooters descend on lustria to steal the chairs of power.
wtf i thought 8th edition invented large armies
I suspect large collections have been a thing for quite a while
That mob of 50 rascals is only 200 points, and 20 archers is just 80 points. Those numbers seem designed to enable huge armies.
yeah, it seems like points per model were low that edition, but it's well before my time
I'm sure the hobby's expected army size has oscillated given different groups of people assembling large collections and playing them for several editions, new model ranges coming out and encouraging new collections or expanded collections, and new people getting into the hobby. perhaps 3e was at a time when many people had been collecting for years, similar to how 8e was
Dude, a friend and I used to have 4k pt, whole weekend games back in 4th. We'd put two ping-pong tables together and throw dice like it was the end of the world.
*moves my dragonlord 32" on turn 1 because of infernal gateway*
heh, dont blame me. its not my fault my armys pdf only has 1 viable unit in it.
Look at this little frog
LOL what a nerd I bet he casts magic
He doesn't even have his chair
NO CHAIR NO CHAIR
FROGGIE IS A NO CHAIR
Did not notice that’s what Unbreakable does. Thanks
Sugoi Ghoul King
Painting my sanded bases and holy shit it's such a huge difference. Vallejo Iraqui Sand is great.
>buying sand
Do you also pay an oxygen tax?
Not that anon but I don't live in the desert so if I used sand for my bases I would also have to buy it.
Drive to a beach. Go outside. Christ.
Not everyone lives in range of sandy soil, anon.
That would cost more in gas than the cost of a pack of sand. I could get more sand, sure, but I'd have to sterilize and grind it to a fine grit myself.
Why would you need to sterilize it? It’s going to be covered in glue and layers of paint and varnish lol
I did get this from the beach though...?
Do you think you can only paint store bought sand...?
Anon didn't know that Iraqi Sand is a paint color.
Oh that makes a LOT more sense, I didn't understand why he started talking about buying stuff lol
The point about gas is true though it would actually be more expensive for most.
yes
Those submerged stones look incredible anon!
What's the magic width number for banners or spear pole sizes? Been looking around local stores (no hobby stores) trying to find anything useful. Was thinking of trying to scratch build a chariot too (beastmen style) but couldn't find wood at a desireable thickness, I don't have the tools to cut a larger plank to size.
They'll cut shit for you at a lot of hardware stores if you buy it there. They won't carve the whole thing out for you but if you need a large sheet chopped in half or whatever they should have you covered.
Sheets are more for game boards, I'm looking for little logs. Actually sprues come pretty close to a decent size for the sort of chariot Beastmen drive.
How come Karl Franz is such a based and awesome badass in the wargame, but such a shitty inbred prat in the RPG?
because when you field him on the table, he's a badass named character on a dragon, and when he's in a story he's an awful little gremlin, the same way all lore characters in WHF are awful, because it's a world where everyone is making the worst possible choices and fighting continuously and betraying each other and never actually getting along?
Because he's an emperor, that's his job. His job is to fight well and prevent a civil war, as a dude he does fricking suck. He IS a shitty inbred prat, he's just good at killing orcs so it's outside the Empire's interests to do anything about it. Besides, as bad as he is, he's still better than any other count.
Besides, in the war game he's just there to fight and win, in the RPG he can represent anything you want him to.
>based and awesome badass in the wargame
he's a statline without any sort of characterisation
you're thinking about tww memes
>but such a shitty inbred prat in the RPG?
Before 6th edition, Karl was an old man on his death bed.
6th retconned him into being the griffon riding, Ghal Maraz wielding Sigmar stand in that we know of today.
Finished my first set of trays and bases for my new Clar Karond army. I'll be playing this or slight variations of it a bunch of times over the next few weeks.
looks awesome dude.
thanks. mostly a mix of sand, baking soda, wwater and PVA glue
Thanks! Is your terrain 3d printed? Or bought somewhere? ... if you say scratch built kill me now.
those willow-looking hydras make me smile whenever I see them, and that charybdis is gnarly as hell
great looking army, would happy shoot arrows and war dance at
Yes, its an honour to be targeted for war. I love the second generation hydra too! I definitely didn't want another hydra/kbeast kit. Both looking too similar on the table at the same time. If you ask me the kit looks better as the kharibdyss anyway. It's my favourite model of the line.
i wanna feed the Kharibdyss to my Carnosaur
Be my guest, the carnictis parasites would eat it from the inside out. I believe beastmasters farm kharibdyss this way.
Swunkz
Aaaand the Liche Priests are sold out again
Iknow the Gimir were dominant at one point. But was that before or after the Elves colonized the world?
they were never dominant, they are just asshurt that the chaos gods would rather corrupt humans than pay attention to the already-corrupt fimir
How do impact hits work in a challenge?
The rules for characters say you cannot direct impact hits into them unless there is 5 or less models!
But you have to direct all your attacks to the challenger!
It’s a good point anon since impact doesn’t even happen before combat anymore. Merely at i10. My mates and I have been just applying it to the unit while us5+ I think that’s the intent
that makes sense, but it also makes sense when you think of a character accepting a challenge, then moving right in front of a chariot
i refuse to believe that impact hits are part of attacks in a challenge. i saw them do that in the miniwargaming battle report and it was dumb as hell.
hey man, it says theyre attacks that happen at initiative 10. How else are you supposed to handle it
Chariots are a shared profile now just like everything else, a little moronic maybe but hey a dragon gets to stomp all over a single hero, why can't a chariot try to run over one guy?
cause theres a rule that says stomps or impact hits cant be directed to characters if there are 5 or more rank or file models in the unit
Zero exp with TOW yet, but so far, I'm leaning towards Bodkins on GG for long range semi-static softening of heavier armour, Hagbane on Scouts for hunting monsters & warmachines and Swiftshiver on the higher BS waywatchers to shit out huge numbers of arrows at equivalent To Hit as the rest of the archers to bully chaff. Still undecided on my glade riders arrows. Probably the True flight as I plan on using them as the mobile frenzy-leash (LoS blocking) for my wild riders. Fire and flee if they get charged with the WR counter charging or shoot & reserve move to open a charge path for the WR.
as a counterpoint, I'd suggest trueflight on your glade guard bunker and fire and flee with them, so they can reliably hit at long range through cover and your bs4 shots hit things. it also lets you be slightly more mobile with them. save the bodkins for characters, who will not only hit but wound on s4, and maybe also on waywatchers, who have high bs as well (though swiftshiver shards would be great on them too if you want to just start blasting). for scouting glade guard and glade riders, I'd go with poison shots, since you'll be taking penalties for moving and shooting but you'll be fishing for 6s to hit and be able to harry the flanks of monsters and other such ably with them
using your GR to block your WR is an interesting tactic potentially, but keep in mind that you want your WR in combat asap and you want your GR to never be in anything's range or firing arc, so you'll want to dance them in and out of cover with reserve move since they have no save. I think the best way to use WR is to vanguard them up a flank and just start smashing things, after deploying them as your very last drops to make sure your opponent doesn't counter-drop you and make you waste them on chaff.
>glade guard bunker
Nah bro, min 5 tax. Everything else is Scouts. 2pts for Evasive, Fire & Flee, Scout and skirmish; I would literally never take GG if I didn't have to. The GG are there to put 5 shots a turn into high armour, low model units like knights or elite infantry. I'm not 100% on this yet but I'm fairly confident that the Bodkins are the best option for this. If I ever did run a bigger block of GG, I'd give them banner of Midsummer (ignore cover for 15pt) and still go either poison or AP.
>you want your WR in combat asap
I agree to an extent but for their price, their more surgical than people generally use them. Whenever I've baited an enemy into a position that allows me to pursue/overrun favourably with them, they have nearly solo'd triple their point cost. I would much rather a turn 2-3 flank charge, lining them up to just steamroll sideways through the enemies ranks than a turn 1 ICBM. And if the GR are doing enough damage, an opponent will try to chase them, opening an avenue for the WR to exploit as the GR go "lol no, see ya later" and flee through the immune to psychology WR.
I agree on both points, I'm inclined to use GG in a small unit and then scout it up, they're an absolute steal for their points. I just don't like running them in such a small group naked. I'll probably give them bodkins as you say, since your opponent willl be coming up the field at you anyway.
for WR, I agree setting up an ideal charge is the best, but a smart opponent will either shoot them or goad them into charging by clearing out your gate unit. GR gate will work well if your opponent doesn't target them with shooting or magic, they'll melt immediately if they get hit with a magic missile or any sustained weapons fire.
I'll need to buy up some GR models and some wolves for them to ride (my other mounts are all wolves so we need to keep the theme going) before I use them, but I'm excited to field them.
Again, making it clear that I've played my fair share of games but am by no means an "experienced player" nor a tactical mastermind. However, whenever I've done well with the welves, it was by being unconventional and mercurial; misdirection, bait and switch, lure the opponent only to run away, offer an enticing flank charge and sacrifice the unit to leave the enemy unit exactly where I want them. Having a 100pt GR unit melt to fire is "just as planned" if it draws fire away from equally squishy (but more threatening) things like waywatchers, wardancers or rangers; the things I need to get work done.
Having said all this, I have no idea how to DO all this and have insufficient wins to speak with any authority on the "correct" way to run welves.
I'm also the kind of guy that runs 2-3 mages in a 2k game, so don't listen to me; discard any and all of my opinions wantonly hahaha...
That's not enough mages.
That's not untrue
nah you're doing it right, you just have to sacrifice the right units at the right time to pull your opponent out of position, as you said 🙂
just don't make your entire strategy about sacrificing units, it's easy to lose half your army and thus the game in certain scenarios playing MSU and feeding small units to your opponent - there's even a battleplan that specifically punishes that kind of play (break point or something?)
I also don't think it's strictly necessary to have that many chaff and sacrificial units in your WEarmy in TOW, since it's possible to actually field durable anvils as a WE (though our anvils are more of the 'we hit you first and have stubborn for that one turn we need to eat the charge' sorts instead of a grind-you-out-over-four-turns type), but I don't have the experience necessary to back this claim up yet. I am looking forward to eternal guard blocks and dryads that don't just fold up in games, though, and I'll certainly give it a go when I get the chance!
Two more units based, plus the bsb finally gets to touch grass. Next is a dwarf engineer and a gyrocopter. I like that the clattergun isn't locked to the bomber anymore, so I will 100% be making fighter plane noises when my gyro shoots on the tabletop
Beautiful anon, I have been crawling further with my rats but made little progress so not worth taking pictures yet.
Anon the only people who would object to a great themed army that’s approx size matches the dimensions would be choads. Do it .
What's the best load out for a Goblin Level 4 Shaman on an Arachnarok spider?
How many people would object to my 'Arachnarok' being a Forgeworld Colossal Squig with a goblin shaman riding on his back or some floating lightning above him that is shaped like an ork head (Like he's been blessed by Gork)?
Do you think we'll be getting new metal releases in the future, or will they all be forgeworld resin?
No ToW has been cancelled.
I still haven't finished my Tomb Kings army THOUGH.
>Poisoned attacks (core p175)
>Any spells cast by the model are unaffected, as are any attacks made with magic weapons
>Ensorcelled Weapons (Ravening Hordes, p. 81 & 115)
>A hand weapon carried by a model with this special rule has the Magical Attacks special rule and an Armour Piercing characteristic of -1.
>(Gifts of Chaos) Poisonous Slime (Ravening Hordes, p. 77)
>This character (but not their mount) has the Poisoned Attacks special rule.
So if I'm reading this right, poisoned attacks specifically states it doesn't work with magic weapons, as ensorcelled weapons aren't magic, merely gaining the magic attack keyword, they can benefit from poison?
Also consider the alternative if this isn't true, HE Vaul's Unmaking could destroy an ensorcelled hand weapon
Yes, Enscorcelled Weapons aren't magic weapons. It's just a rule that affects the basic hand weapon the model is carrying.
>So if I'm reading this right, poisoned attacks specifically states it doesn't work with magic weapons, as ensorcelled weapons aren't magic, merely gaining the magic attack keyword, they can benefit from poison?
I'd say, else they would just say that poison doesn't work with magical attacks of any kind.
The magic isn't coming from the weapon itself but instead surrounds it, that's the difference. Should be fine.
>3 points for these rules and stats
>Can even put in a packmaster to fix leadership and cheeky killingblow
>No limitations on taking in lists
Are they the new slaves?
Yes I’m intending to 3D print a heap to have like 40 and just have silly rat swarm times
>3pts
>Literally has State Trooper Statline and fight in extra rank.
>What did GW mean by this?
Honestly, Skaven have some insanely good unit options in their PDF if you look properly.
>Ld 3
LD3 and Scurry Away make them very not so good.
>Pay12 points for a single master moulder at the back
>They are now Ld10 thanks to warband+horde.
>T3 + W1
Arty says goodbye.
So? And it would do to State Troopers as well, except they're 2 points more expensive... hell if you want to fight in extra ranks, 3 points for them with spears. Which is double their cost.
You want to waste a cannonball shot against 150pts of Rats of unusual size instead of my Jezzails, my Fellblade toting Screaming Bell Grey Seer, my Rat Ogres, Doomwheel, or that unit of 6 Gutter-Runners with Poisoned Throwing Weapons that just appeared next to you, be my guest.
19 rats and a moulder is a 20 man leadership 10 block for 69 points.
That moves 6 and fights in 2 ranks.
2 movement faster and one higher init than state troop with free spears. With master moulder one higher leadership too. Straight superior at half the price.
They should have ws 2 imo
While you were out partying, the rat was studying the blade.

>1k army consisting of cheap hero and 300 rats
>2k army consisting of 2 cheap heroes and 600 rats
>deployed in lines of 60
>the real vermintide
could make for an interesting scenario with some matching fluff
Sounds cheesy.
Alright I’m gonna do it, sounds funny. can’t find a good set of rat prints with variety though.
>can’t find a good set of rat prints with variety though
Excellent
try resinwarfare, they have a lot of skaven
Why are they WS3 lol
>hits skeletons on a 3+
Calciumbros, I don't feel so good
>Some random dog sized animals are as skilled a fighter as a Tomb Guard
Even as someone with Skaven as a spare army that makes zero sense. Especially not when compared to other non battle-trained animals like insect swarms. Should definitely be WS2, especially at that point cost.
and t2 as well
even horrors are ws 2 lol. i don't think the guy drafting up the giant rat statline was really thinking. at least rat swarms are ws 2 lmao
Skaven are oddly overstatted in general tbh, some freakishly high I values in there
I think he was thinking he wanted to see men devoured by giant rats.
Yeah they didn't get the I nerf everyone else did.
first greyos warriors done
pretty happy with how they look ranked up
Very nice, Anon.
looks good, very dour. the brown fur and bone horns, and gold weapon hilts helped a lot to break up the monochrome from those early wips
How come the thread doesn't appear when searching wfg?
op is lazy and it has no subject, missing from my shortcuts too
He didn't even include previous thread. Can someone make an actual general and not this crap
Are people sleeping on skaven because they don't have le ebin dragon? They seem very strong, and I'm not just talking about giant rat memes.
What other options have you noticed?
Ratling guns seem very effective, and their chance to misfire badly is low. Their leadership buffs add up massively and they also have the ability to spam strong magic.
i sleep on everything that doesnt look like a fun, healthy army with a balance of units, support, and characterful heroes to lead them.
really like the new bret lord model, but I kind of wish it had the chunkier proportions of the rest of the box to fit in with the older models
>working on a big model
>apply glaze over it
>notice its a little uneven
>go to fix it before it dries
>rips up every layer of paint down to the primer
frick. i guess i should have sealed it with a varnish first
you have to notice very very quickly, or use paint moronic
*paint moroner frick
i had a flow improver mixed in.
the problem was 2 fold and i should have seen it coming. first im using proacryl paints which have a terrible reactivation problem at even the slightest moisture. you can straight up rub proacryl off a model with a bit of water if its not sealed. second is that the paint i was using for the glaze was a contrast thinned 5 to 1 with a thinner. i thought the thinner would counteract the constrasts gummyness but alas not so much.
i'll be able to fix it easy enough, the area in question is large and flat, just annoying
reactivation is a nightmare. was trying out liquitex yellow ink on a space wolves pauldron and it was going great until i went to put on a layer of normal yellow afterwards. my paint water had traces of ink in i guess so it reactivated the yellow ink layer and fricked everything.
Is it just me or are Pigeon Bombs really really awful? Needing a 6 to get a 3" template of S4 -1AP, for 20 pts, just sounds flat out crap.
I've tried hard to find a use and they are irredeemably bad. If they were a free upgrade I don't know if I'd use them.
They are possibly the worst upgrade I've seen yet in TOW. As you say if it was free I still wouldn't even bother. Utterly useless
Not you, they are fricking awful. You have the same change of killing yourself than the enemy and you have to pay for the priviledge.
They are specially hilarious as an option on the steam tank, like anyone is going to pay extra to not use they good guns it comes with in favor of that rng trash
>chance of killing yourself
The engineer has 2 wounds and if anything actually tried to kill him it wolf anyway. The stank will rarely take any damage from pigeon bombs, after you roll a 1, a 6 to wound yourself, then fail your 4+ armor save. They "hit" with str 5 ap-2 or a blast on a flat 4+ regardless of range, if you moved, terrain, skirmishes, etc. That compares really well to the rifles you effectively can't move and shoot with. Not sure how you translate a very low chance for a very low cost mistake to a bad upgrade. I don't think the stank really needs any of the upgrades but an engineer's got nothing better to do than throw pigeons or use Ruby Ring.
>That compares really well to the rifles you effectively can't move and shoot with
Enginiers are to give BS to artillery. When they are on a stank you are not shooting the cupola mounted rifle either, which is another pretty bad weapon.
>Not sure how you translate a very low chance for a very low cost mistake to a bad upgrade.
They cost 20p to take them and prevent you from using the better guns. That's not low cost at all
The guns specifically aren't better. And the engineer doesn't have to forego shooting for his benefits to with. If you want to keep him cheap the grenade launcher is fine but pigeon bombs really aren't bad if you find yourself having to hit in 5s often otherwise.
>an engineer's got nothing better to do
Pigeon bombs cost 20p for a gimicky weapon with 24" range
Engineers can take Grenade launching blunderbusses that also have 24" range and are probably going to hit more reliably with similar stat. The grenade launcher costs 10p
There's no reason to take pigeon bombs
>I want to hit with str 4 ap-1 on 5s and not be able to move instead of str 5 ap-2 on 4s
Suit yourself, anon.
I'm going to assume you haven't even seen the engineer profile or the grenade launcher's profile. Or actually read the pigeon bombs rules
You do you
>Assailment spells you from the back of the unit
You make assailment spells when you attack, as you cant attack from verminous valor you cant do assailment.
>at any time
So as long as you're attacking before your opponent, you can do your thang then scurry off to the back rank and they can't touch you.
Even better, why not wait until the enemy decides to attack your grey seer and then dodge the blows!
Geedubs should fricking fix their website i have money held in hostage because their fricking website can't update on how they don't have damsel in stock but you can try to buy them.
linesisters... the dragontimmys are laughing at us again
posting something like this without a tldw should be a crime
linesissy throws a million wildwood rangers into a star dragon and gets raped by timmy.
Frick.
Your 3 day ban expire?
what?
Everything they don't like is from a boogeyman Ganker smooth blain user pls understand
yeah, i like how theres 1 braindead timmy itt who seethes nonstop whenever anybody points out that dragons are overtuned and thinks its 1 boogeyman as if the entire tow community on youtube hasnt been saying dragons are overtuned for a month.
It's just people might actually listen to the point you're trying to make if you stopped spamming the "Timmy" bullshit. It's juvenile and reeks of grade-A autism. Address the substance of the problem, avoid spergy "insults". I mean I agree dragons are broken but I still think you're a homosexual
>timmy has gone from defending dragon bs to conceding that they are bullshit but is now crying about being bullied for being a moron
lel
Ive never defended dragons. This is literally my first time replying to you. You do know that multiple people post in this thread right? Meds now
i accept your /k/oncession, timmy.
Again, I've never interacted with you before. But go ahead, enjoy it. Revel in whatever weird victory you think you've scored despite the fact that I hold the same opinion as you and always have.
>Revel in whatever weird victory you think you've scored
oh i am, i am.
>Turns anon into an asshurt schizo
>timmy said, while projecting
I made a chaos list with a chaos lord on dragon and a sorcerer lord on dragon. You can do that, min core of dogs and horseman and fit 2 hellcannons. I'm excited to play it this weekend.
i dont remember subscribing to your blog
That must be in the 25/2400 limit, doubt you can do that at 2000 without running them naked
They're basically naked at 2k, just marks and armor. Favor if you want to go wild.
> "Timmy could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this neighborhood before. There could be timmy anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE dragons" he thought. Sweet Dreams are Made of These reverberated his entire car, making it pulsate even as the $9 wine circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away his fear of timmy's dragon after dark. "With a car, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
>those gas prices
Why did everything get so shitty
too many people
too many commodities
cities are strangling themselves in the silent hope that whatever remains is free from the rest
It was always shitty, you were just young and your life didn’t suck yet.
> "Timmy could be here" they thought, "We've never been in elf neighborhood before. There could be timmy anywhere." The cool wind felt good against their bare chests. "I HATE dragons" theythought. "With a line, you can go anywhere you want" they said to himself, out loud.
Nice touch.
>With a line, you can go anywhere you want
Isn't that exactly the opposite, a virgin line can only move forward while chad timmies go wherever they like?
a column is a line, they can triple their movement
genuinely incomprehensible post
>finish printing dudes, just need to print trays and bases
>printer breaks
God damn it, I was almost done
Very dumb OP
Had the Master Game as a kid, pretty good for the day.
article about Full Tilt
>https://www.warhammer-community.com/2024/02/14/going-full-tilt-with-a-new-twist-on-the-classic-minigame-on-warhammer/
cute
I can't tell if I have alzheimers or not, but I sincerely remember a tweet from back during or after the end times where a writer was gloating about getting to kill Fantasy as a setting. Does anyone else remember that? Or have a screenshot or something?
yeah i remember that too. it mightve been gav
9 giant rats coming in hot.
Cumming in 9 giant rats? Hot!
Is there some way to use questing knights that I'm not seeing or are they just worse knights of the realm?
T3 and a 4+ save doesn't sound like the kind of stat line that is going to survive long enough in melee for GW to be better than Lances. Or are you just supposed to use the basic hand weapons and pray that's better with the higher WS and I?
It's you charge and generally hit hard than a Lance anyway at S6 AP2.
Then you keep hitting at S6 AP2.
Also don't over estimate S5 lances, you notice wounding on only 3+ very T4 shit. S6 still wounds on 2s
Theyre a couple points over a ROTK and will often have +1 to hit and +1 wound on them. And with the new charges they will still swing before/at the same time as most units.
They're WS5, S6 AP -2 and importantly are stubborn so they're can slug it out pretty well, while only being a pittance more than KoTR.
Grail knights are still best, probably followed by Pegasus Knights, but Questing Knights are legit.
looking at the PDF for Full Tilt they seem to have gutted a lot of it's flavour for no real reason
>Knights don't get separate favour Items from Lady's of Court just prying to the lady of the lake
>No Black Knight final boss to decide the winner
wonder why they even brought it back in the first place when half the fun of the game is the general flavour of it
Who honestly gives a shit.
Frick side games give us content for the thing we are actually here for
side games are useful and easy recruiting tool to get people into the main game.
side games that come with dedicated boxes and/or models may do, a side game that plays with ONE (1) knight per player where you need to improvise or build the terrain, where you can't buy a single knight and with no marketing or any shop precsence at all since theres no box and no physical rules does not
Yeah I personally found the rule that out of your team of 3 knights (at least) one MUST be female and one MUST be an ethnic minority a little weird.
The Black knight retired to be a regular damsel now.
your youtube seems broken
Won't you joust for her favor and courtship anon?
If she's built like Maserati (the pornstar) the sure, otherwise hell no.
She don't need no man.
I can't sneed.
>it just looks like they never bothered finishing the skin's paint job
Is all this DEI stuff just a psyop by the heavy metal team to justify their laziness?
Jesus look at it though. They've even slopped the contrast on her bangles over onto the white dress and never bothered to tidy it up.
Fricksake.
bros...
I can no longer shitpost about no news and the game dying...
its so fricking over...
why did they give us news...
a gimmick side game isnt really news anon go nuts
no...
I was telling everyone the game was abandoned and GW didn't care because of no news at all...
my entire plan is ruined...
I can no longer shit up threads with doomerism...
>not just doing it anyway and committing full tilt to the bit
excuse the pun but your a weak b***h
>excuse the pun but your a weak b***h
your right...
doomers ARE weak b***hes...
cope, brandsucker
>looking at the PDF for Full Tilt they seem to have gutted a lot of it's flavour for no real reason.
Might be a case of shrimplified™ not shrimple™ they are fond of lately.

Bretonnia is a multi-ethnic, gender equal society CHUDS. Unless you’re a peasant.
any good blogs/forum posts of old world battle reports? can't stand these terrible youtube video ones.
There were some lads that weren’t overly obnoxious/ try miscast table. Found em today.
Forums are dead my friend
executioners should have full plate
sexecutioners should have full cum
no, you should simply shut the frick up you whiny piece of an elfgay
Reminder that this is what constitutes Full Plate.
Greatswords shouldn't have full plate.
Some'ya'll really don't understand the simple fact that clothing can just be worn over armour, do you?
Actually not a bad excuse
still less armored than an executioner
Elves are gays so their armor doesn't count.
Greatswords are not dressed like that, that is a guy in (mostly) full plate with a few edges of a tabard sticking out, (plastic) greatswords have on average a breastplate, tassets and vambraces. The landsknechts they are based on also did not wear full plate generally.
the rules give them full plate because the previous models have full plate and didn't want to downgrade the rules when they made the plastic kit
bringing the unit from heavy armour to full plate should be a sidegrade
same deal with plenty of other units and even those that could be argued to have light or heavy armor
Probably.
Thought on my skaven plan? Mostly on what models I have ready to go.
Skaven 1499 pts
Grey Seer, D3 Warpstone Tokens, Level 4, Lore Familiar, Battle Magic
Skaven Chieftain BSB Heavy armour, Grand Banner Of Superiority, Ruby Ring of Ruin
Warlock Engineer, Warplock musket, Level 1 Wizard, Storm Daemon, Battle Magic
Core
20 Clanrats Ratling Gun
20 Clanrats Ratling Gun
19 Giant Rats 1 Packmaster
19 Giant Rats 1 Packmaster
20 Stormvermin full command, war banner, ratling gun
Special
3 Rat Ogres 1 Packmaster
6 Warplock Jezzails
The idea is push to 18 inches and unleash with magic and guns until they are gone.
Clan rat and giant rat blocks gum things up to delay, stormvermin are a character bunker with a big static CR (7 +d3) to win key combats. 3 warp lightnings and 2 fireballs.
Jezzails and ogres problem solve.
I got obliterated off the table before I could even charge by a similar list so I'm pretty sure it's very strong.
Looks fun dude, care to post some army pics?

V cool anon, nice pirate ratptain
Anon you take a unit of 5 chosen with sword and board and two units of 6 with halberds.
Go wild. Frick combat rez at that points
Get some fanatics to smash up his knight blobs?
Tough anon but you can break this man. Sounds like you do not want to put yourself in a position to be countercharges
>Get some fanatics to smash up his knight blobs?
How do you counter Knights with fanatics? At best you can only send them 15" and that requires super luck and then wouldn't they just avoid them? And how do you charge without getting counter-charged? Also Fanatics are S5 and so the knights will get their 5++
Not really, the Boar Chariot bounced off them and that's supposed to be brutal on the charge, the Big Unz didn't do much before dying and Giant Cave Squig Boss also achieved nothing despite having impact hits, Wollopas wun hit wunda and killing blow attacks.
>how do you charge without getting counter-charged
"When a unit with this special rule is charged in its front arc by an enemy unit whose troop type is ‘cavalry,’ ‘chariot’ or ‘monster'..."
Fanatics are infantry, I believe?
Fanatics don't charge
>order 300 magnets
>get them
>neighbor in the apartment next to me gets something
>next day I can hear him screeching through the walls that his new motherboard and hard drive are ruined
was...was that me? also first attempt at nmm
Don't worry, he should have warranty if they both were fricked out of the box
I warned you about the Damzel in full tilt weeks ago but you didnt listen
Dad works at GW?
Playing the slow grow?
full tilt was at the warhammer world launch event
Did they have an authentic black damsel too?
the board in the fill tilt article was the board they had there
who wins in a fight:
>the professional lifelong soldiers of the empire, trained and equipped to the best of the ability of the wealthiest and most powerful nation of man
>the cast of ratatouille
no matter how trained you are a swarm of dog sized rats will eat you for breakfast
What are good proxies for snotlings? I was thinking about making a snotling horde.
a healthy mix of blood bowl snotlings and gnoblars should do the trick
why did Snotlings get a Bloodbowl team?
so you can play two underdogs team one against the other and have some dumb fun
How do giant rats do into swordmasters? Include a pack master and make them clashing lines of equal cost, thanks.
Just have a line of about 20 and you should be fine.
20 rats with packmaster all attacking vs 5 swordmasters.
They eat overeducated elf is how those rats do.
If I give my Warboss Porko's Pig Stikka and a great weapon can he use the great weapon on turns he didn't charge?
no
You must always use your magic weapon
That's somewhat dumb, because the weapon is fricking useless if you don't get the charge now that characters don't get inherent AP from their strength
Not really because you can't change weapons during prolonged combat (pg 213)
Has this always been the lore/origin of O&G?
since 7th ed at the very minimum, yeah
no it was introduced in 8th or 7th edition and that was more Some Spores got onto the Old Ones ship rather than full Orcs and Goblins snuck aboard
At least in 8th ed, spores clinging to their ships.
I don't think so. There were goblin women in whrp 1st. ed.
Bros I thought WFG was the game of TWM…
it is TOW is for everyone though
Still is. No matter how many women and browns GW tries to shove in promotional material. My FLGS has about 15 white dudes and exactly 0 troons (closest thing you'll get to a woman in this hobby) playing this and having a blast.
I wish I had your store, man. Mine is all troons and femboys.
Sorry to hear it anon. 40k is the containment game for the freaks at mine. Even our AoS guys managed to gatekeep them out lmao.
>femboys
Hey, what's the name of that store?
in some TWW news they are making a Exalted Hero of Tzeentch based on this metal model from the '90s, so maybe expect an update to it for either AoS or TOW(probably in Resin though)
also continued insistence that WF is the only setting in Warhammer to not have Tzaangor with Beaks
>https://www.totalwar.com/blog/wh3-soc-update-tzeentch/
guy looks the part, but this update feels like the most lukewarm rain of piss they could muster
going by the file name the model is a Work in Progress so it might improve a bit when they fully release it, it probably the most interesting out of all the Tzeentch stuff they showed
lmao
what's wrong with Changebringers anon? they look exactly like how they did for SoC i.e. a kitbash
I guess to me it's just weird seeing a model that looks like it should already be floating on a disc that floats. I was kinda hoping they'd be more creative and fuse it into the disc or something.
too much effort for CA and it would not be accurate to the source material anon and we can't have that even when it makes more sense
They're not converting two metal models and painstakingly sculpting extra details with greenstuff as some random hobbyist, they're adding content to a product they're selling and all they can come up with is something that looks even more bare than a free mod
>no beaks for tzaangors in light of keeping our content true to the source material
>btw here's grand cathay fielding birds from the moon and some giant winged robot
they could at least be honest and point the blame to GW's legal team being anal about what counts as IP infringement for the total war licence
if its cathay it will be moon rabbits, not birds
no, they are adding moon Birds to Cathay so expect them as character mount option when Cathay is added to TOW
lore from GW
>Favoured of the Empress, the Great Moon Birds are found in the highest peaks of the Mountains of Heaven. They are said to make their nests in the craters of Mannslieb, the silver moon of the Warhammer World, and only fly down to earth when called by either the Empress or the most powerful Astromancers. Fearsome to behold in battle, the Moon Bird are often wreathed in silvery flames – or moon fire – which burns the enemies of the empire who come into contact with it. Powerful lords, especially wizards of the Celestial Court, might even be granted a Moon Bird as a mount, though this is usually only for a short time before the creature once more returns to the heavens.
I wasn't in the position to make that up
gw: yeah we are squatting 7 of the most popular whfb factions
also gw: introduces whatever that fricking slop is
This shit looks fricking terrible. Kislev is bad enough, but Cathay really is Warcraft China in Total War.
>they could at least be honest and point the blame to GW's legal team being anal about what counts as IP infringement for the total war licence
The Slaanesh faction uses a bunch of AoS designs that didn't release until the better part of a decade after WHFB got the axe so I'm leaning more towards CA being lazy morons again rather than GW refusing to let Tzaangors have beaks for some absolutely baffling reason.
they made concept art with them with beaks
they wrote about them having beaks in the game's text
they designed and sculpted their armour to accommodate beaks
someone definitely stepped in to tell them to remove the beaks
still never gon buy that boring ahh dlc
>warcraft chinks
>warcraft russians
>the most boring chaos god
It's like they wanted the DLC to be shit
Is there a German word for that feeling when you suddenly realise you've been subjected to a prolonged psyop attacK?
lmao timmys been catching such major Ls ITT that even troonhammer is talking about him
>Timmy crawled in the head of 10buxhammer
You can't make this shit up. kek
Presumably it's the entire sentence you said in German but with the spaces removed.
Man on birb
Nice striping.
It turned out alot better on the other side i think
This reminds me of the Dark Elf kharibdyss model by way of detail and quality. Great from far, far from great. Little to no feather detail, little to no scale detail, but fantastic pose, inertia, presence. The prime difference between plastic kits today and metal kits of old. I don't know which I prefer, since the newer approach is solved by artistic measures, and detailing the features by brush.
The griffon and great eagle high elf noble always draw my attention for how great their talons are.
Its a good start, but feels like he needs some washes for texture.
I'm edge highlighting the individual brown feathers so they should be fine by the end, but the white ones probably need something to add more definition. Just can't figure out what color wash to use is all
I more meant the metal/the face feathers.
Yeah, those too
What's the different use case between hammerers and ironbreakers? They both seem really good
You put one of the anti-charge runes on one and the other on the other one.
okay but like how do i run them? just line them up next to each other or should i use the ironbreakers to block for the hammerers.
i guess i meant more about table placement and formation in the army rather than how do i outfit them
Hammer and anvil respectively
Ironbreakers can get 2+ rerolling, 6++ with auto disorder charges and shieldwall stubborn. That is insanely hard to remove.
Hammers only get a 5+ but slap ridiculously hard.
Get drilled on both and ironbreakers in the centre.
Ironbreakers have 3+
2+ with anvil which is where you should use it.
When a rule refers to "the first round of combat" when is that? Does combat reset between a FBIGO? what about a Give ground?
They had this in an FAQ I believe. FBIGO and giving ground does not reset the combat if the victorious unit follows up amd makes contact again
On this note, I know if you purse a unit that FBIGO you are counted as to have charged during the next turn, but does that include the initiative bonus from charging?
yes
Based. My Ogres thank you for this revelation.
You also get impact hits again assuming the unit fell back more than 3"
That's another game changer. Cheers anon. Prolonged combats aren't gonna feel as bad in my future games.
Pic related was last night vs some Lizardmen. Narrow victory for the powerlifters.
I see the answer only in an unrelated question, but the intentions are pretty unambiguous here in my opinion, so fbig should still count as ongoing combat
Combat
Q: If my unit loses a round of combat and either Gives
Ground or Falls Back in Good Order, can it choose to use
different weapons in the next turn if the enemy made a follow
up or pursuit move?
A: No. Even though the units separated momentarily, they remain
locked in place and engaged in combat once the follow up or pursuit
move has been made. In other words, the combat is ongoing and
neither unit has the time to stow one weapon in exchange for
another (the exception being the time it takes to discard a broken
lance or spear and draw a sword).
Why the frick is this general always talking about TWW?
Majority of the posters are migrants from /twg/ and many of the good old anons have been scared away and will take some time to return if they do
Barring dark omen, sothr or mark of chaos which are all rather outdated it’s the best adaptation of Warhammer fantasy battles.
So yes has a lot of overlap, always has dude.
My bess is posted, neat.

bring a cheeky dragon to 1k

The lower the point cost the more OP a lvl 4 caster becomes, do with this information as you see fit
Would a single sorcerer with Mark of Tzeench make fluff sense in an all-khorne army? I remember Ahriman tagging along with some WE in his 40k books but I'm not sure how hard the divide is in Fantasy
>Would a single sorcerer with Mark of Tzeench make fluff sense in an all-khorne army?
no
I'm gonna have to go without then, thanks anon.
Sure, why not? Followers of Khorne are moronic and really manipulated.
no
it would be another matter if it was a chaos force of various different gods and tribes, but a purely khornate host with a tzeentch sorcerer is an extreme oddity
you either need to approach the concept with some heavy handed background justification, or use the gameplay rules to proxy something more appropriately khornate or give up on the idea and be stoic in the khornautism
so, possible routes, to me, would be
>use the sorcerer's rules but make a stand in with a khornate priest or some khornate with high tech weapons representing his ability to shoot fireballs
>convert the sorcerer to be some kind of tortured tzeentchian prisoner brought to the frontlines in chains with some curse on him that will kill him as his magical powers spiral out of his control because that's khorne's will (which will happen off screen after the battle or when it happens to be killed or suffer a miscast during the game normally)
>make some gay background about how the sorcerer has won the services of the khornate host in a demonic pact with a demon prince, the khornate horde will follow his orders but will hate his guts and be ready to kill him as soon as he no longer has the backing of their prince
harder routes include
>not include him
>make him a repented sorcerer on the path of khornate enlightenment and vow to not cast spells at all, only to dispel, give him as many dispelling scrolls as possible
Thanks for all the help guys. Definitely gonna stay away from sorcerers as my band are raving madmen, they'd probably have little time to think of sorcerers as anything more than another sacrifice
Don't run a sorc in a 500 point khorne list. Embrace the limitation it's a slow grow not a tournament. Take the strike last ability on a hitty character slam some khorne Warriors into people and have fun.
Sure. Even followers of Khorne can be pragmatic enough to see the use of an ad hoc alliance with a sorcerer even if they personally distain magic.
I could also see a khornate host using a captured wizard as a disposable weapon.
Why not just take less chaos warriors? What are the rules on evolving your force?
Oh I can switch my force up at any time, I was just only able to grab chaos warriors in the short timeframe we were given (I got 24 for $50 from a friend)
What's your actual 500pts list? If I had to run 500pts with a character and 18 chaos warriors MoK only I'd probably try and do something like this (and find something to run as a spawn model somewhere):
>++ Characters [133 pts] ++
>Exalted Champion [133 pts]
>(Flail, Heavy armour, Mark of Chaos Undivided, General, On foot, Favour of the Gods)
>++ Core Units [174 pts] ++
>12 Chaos Warriors [174 pts]
>(Hand weapons, Heavy armour, Shields, Mark of Chaos Undivided, Standard bearer)
>++ Special Units [192 pts] ++
>6 Chosen Chaos Warriors [139 pts]
>(Additional hand weapons, Full plate armour, Mark of Chaos Undivided, Mark of Khorne, Standard bearer)
>1 Chaos Spawn [53 pts]
>(Flailing Appendages (Hand weapons), Scaly Skin (Heavy Armour), Spawn of Khorne)
Wardogs are probably a better option than spawn but I imagine would be harder to get a proxy for.
Can the same model tag multiple hits from a hellstorm rocket if multiple templates are tagging it? Or can each model only take one hit? I think it might be the former since the directions call to scatter them and deal their damage all at the same time, but idk
I'd say yes and have played like that in the past
I mean it makes sense to me- if I throw two grenades at you at the same time, you'd wind up getting hit by both. Someone tried to argue that wasn't the case and that you have to roll hits/ remove causalities between every rocket, but I think he just wanted to make it so less of his guys would die...
>if I throw two grenades at you at the same time, you'd wind up getting hit by both
You might think this but I can assure you I personally would simply catch both grenades and return them to you at lightning speed.
>Someone tried to argue that wasn't the case and that you have to roll hits/ remove causalities between every rocket, but I think he just wanted to make it so less of his guys wo
that could make some sense, I think the best solution would be to roll once per model and template (so a model with two templates on him gets hit twice), but making it so that even if all the rolls kill you can't ever remove more models than there are covered by at least one template
in combat removing excess casualties from the second rank makes sense, not so much if they are not really covered by any template
there's an argument to be made, regarding rules as written, that if the hits happen simultaneously, then there's a problem with counting who dies
lets say I hit the center of a unit of 20 models 3 times with all templates, but I always hit the same 7 models out of 20 with all 3 templates, and I make all the needed rolls to wound to cause a total of 21 wounds
now does the whole unit disappear or is it just overkill for those 7 guys?
>all 3 rockets land on one guy
>he only takes a single wound
How many characters is too many characters points wise? Their buffs look so juicy for Empire everytime I make a list they boder towards half my points, but I feel like that might be a bad idea...
depends on the faction but for empire that sounds like too many characters
Idk, they just all feel indispensable to me. I'd cut the captain maybe, but if I did that I'd probably want to upgrade the priest and put him on a war altar...
looks fine. you want the bsb with empire
Buy that general a shield mister.
Can a drilled unit redress before charging? It says you move as normal after but is that saying you make a normal move (basic move?) or treat the unit like it can move normal (ie charge something)?
some people say yes, some people say no
we are waiting a faq on it, but if you ask me I'm telling you yes because otherwise shit like marching columns are essentially useless
I say yes as well just because it explicitly says "normal" move and not basic. Normal seems pretty explicitly that you do the redress and then do your movement phase as normal.
I'm a bit confused as to how Mercenaries work. The core rulebook says that "Some army composition lists include a ‘mercenaries’ section, which lists a number of units from different army lists." But looking at the Warriors of Chaos list, it only says I can spend 20% of the total on mercs, but doesn't list shit? What am I missing?
I think they either forgot to put it, are waiting to put it in journals, or have a pdf or separate doc they want to make for them later.
Me personally I'm just going to say whatever mercs make sense in the lore I'm cool with (eg skaven for chaos, dwarves for men, ogres for pretty much everyone, etc etc.)
How very GW of them. Oh well. Thanks, lads.
the mercenaries
if you don't have a list of mercenaries you can take you can't take mercenaries (pic related is from the arcane journal for brets)
or at least you can't take mercenaries until gw release some units in the future that can be taken as mercenaries by anyone, which is entirely possible
for now you got nothing, pal, but unofficially I'd let you take a unit of demons for every god marked unit you have
as
said, basically only arcane journals have merc options for now - but eventually there'll probably be a dogs-of-war journal or something that'll have a "This unit may be taken by armies X, Y, and Z" on the regiments of renown - that's how it used to be done back in the day.
that also showed up in the most recent Warhammer published book so Savage orcs haven't really gone anywhere
you guys must not crawl out of your holes very often, but 'Timmy, Johnny, and Splike' are archetypes of M:tG players. these terms were coined in the very early days of the game, even before the internet, when people got their nerd news from Deulist magazine.
https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/making-magic/timmy-johnny-and-spike-2013-12-03
for reference
I'm sorry but what exactly is your point here? No one thinks this is a new concept
it seems like people are throwing it around as a buzz word rather than understanding it
anyway, Timmys, Johnnys and Spikes are united in this hobby because all 3 are going to be bringing a dragon lord :p
>you guys must not crawl out of your holes very often
Don't care about anglo cardboard gays boogeyman.
Has anyone tried converting any of the gay sigmarine dragons into a proper Chaos Dragon?
better off just buying a mcfarlane dragon
yes
That is sick, thanks anon!
They actually have a good dragon now. Ionus Cryptborn?
>gay dragon
It's weird that I've seen enough furry porn that my brain made the connection that Sigmar Dragon face structure = how a furry porn artist draws anthro dragon faces.
Whf dragons looked fine tho, I don't get it. Why the need to restructure faces entirely when their dragon line just needed to be updated? Sure hope any OW dragon sculpts they do don't look similar. Also if anyone has the Krondys dick model I'd appreciate you posting it since I lost my image for it
I am similarly brain poisoned where that was my first reaction to seeing it as well. I think it's terminal.
What do people do with all the dead skaven?
the dead rats get eaten by rats
What if we put chemical castration hormones in dead skaven so the skaven that eat them become infertile?
doesn't work, the ones that reproduce aren't the ones that are going to eat the dead rats
What do they feed rat queens?
warpstone
I imagine they've tried doing that themselves because nobody loves chemical warfare more than skaven and mobody hates skaven more than other skaven, but for whatever reason it doesn't work (there's probably a bunch of probable reasons explaining why.)
Skaven aren't real
What faction are you waiting for in The World World? I imagine factions will come in twos based on who has historic conflict with who. Also the factions that aren't represented well in AoS will be first, this is why Tomb Kings and Brettonians were first, since they don't have any AoS models to compete with. For example, we know orcs are next so I think the Empire will join them, the way we know Brettonia has fought the Tomb Kings to protect settlements to their north. If I had to guess we'll see
>Empire vs Orcs
>Dwarves vs High Elves
>Wood Elves vs Beastmen
>Standalone Chaos update, since Warriors of Chaos has AoS figures and I imagine they'll be temporarily removed and replaced to be moved to TOW.
Also, we're going to get Halflings at some point. The Empire is either going to hire some Halfling skirmish archers or hire Halflng chefs for their army.
>What faction are you waiting for in The World World?
Kislev
Love me some Elves; whether or not I go with High or Wood depends on the new models they release for them
>new models
There's no way they won't get the twins on a dragon or some similarly silly shit
implying the old metal model of said sisters on dragon wasn't goofy af
Bretonnians built their society on gamer girl pee and it was beautiful.
What does her pee taste? Has any scholar here tried to recreate it?
>What does her pee taste? Has any scholar here tried to recreate it?
You think chad bretonnians are going to let a virgin empire scholar taste her pee in the first place? He will have no point of reference
Ask a grail knight
Good idea.
Wouldn't he want to share and gets to drink lady's dew at will?
I remember reading somewhere that a knight meeting the lady (if ever) does so in secret/private, it only happens like once or twice in their lives, and they basically never talk about what happened because her words are reserved for him alone. Which does all lead credence to that fact that some amount of pee drinking/othe sex acts may or may not be involved
>You will never know how the lady golden nectar taste.
>Wanting to drink Elf piss.
Degenerate.
Thanks for the tips the base is elf piss but it must have more to it if a whole kingdom of knights is seeking to drink it.
>that list
lol, lmao even...
>Dwarves vs O&G
>Wood Elves vs Beastmen
Not sure if it'll be Helves or Empire vs Chaos but the other two are classic rivalries.
>What faction are you waiting for in The World World?
Wood elves. I have pretty much everything I want/need other than warhwaks. After that, tempted to start an O&G army.
WoC. Im looking for a secondary army and it might be WE for me, honestly im uncertain and I guess it depends on how I like the upcoming games I got from next week on as my local game group is getting their shit together
Using skink skirmishers combined with plague of rust, can definitely whittle down units. I don’t see the problem people have with Lizardmen. They have a solid list. And the Slaan is no joke.
Can the bastiladon resurrect jungle swarms with the wound healing ability or just heal wounds that are left? Does it work like the Lich Priest ability to heal models?
>order Army Painter Masterclass™ drybrushes

>do some drybrushing
>leave the room to wash other brushes
>can still smell goat
>smell my hands
>they smell of goat just from touching the handles
>re-enter the room
>it smells like the average back street in Afghanistan
>mfw "premium drybrushes"
>Goat hair
Isn't that like garbage and the only high quality brushes worth a damn are sable?
After today I will pay whatever premium sable brushes carry over goat brushes if they promise not to make my room smell like Abdinasir's mum's kitchen
Drybrushes anon. Sable isn't stiff enough for drybrushes.
HOW do you know how average street in Afghanistan smells, anon?
Should've used pig's hair
Does this scale look okay? First time getting 3d print minis
They look a little smaller, but everything except the monsters can be proxied by blank bases on account of how meaningless sizes are in this game
The damsels horse is a little smaller but the crewmen and damsel are a little taller than the MAA.
I don't really care about gameplay I only care about aesthetics
If you print highlands minis, 92% is just about right
What's the consensus of the contents of the Khemri starter? Good, bad, mid at best?
Pretty good, but jobs pretty hard to the Bretonnia one. But in fairness everything kind of does tbh.
Funnily enough I don't give two shits about Bretonnia since Empire was made to dump on them but that stupid bone dragon scares me shitless since my griffon can't kill it.
it's probably too much core, chariots and horsemen are next to useless and even more than 30 spearmen is not really neccessary. It gives people options but it would have been far better with even one 20 man TG unit thrown in or even some necropolis knights instead of say 40 skeletons. Between the book and dragon it is still very much worth getting at discount.
>chariots and horsemen are next to useless
Idk, I've been testing with my brother and apparently skellies can't march so if you don't bring some kind of fast cav you're gonna get buttfricked by a gun line
>gunline
swarms and tomb scorpions are your best option against gunlines, also necrosphinxes and the dragon pretty much negate any issues from not marching.
So shit needs to be in your front arc to charge it? Even if a model is standing directly next to me like an inch away but slightly to my left and out of my front arc too bad for me I can't charge? Seems kind of silly....
the advantage of skirmishers is that they can charge in any direction in games like this with ranks and facing
there are lots of games that don't do ranks and facing, like AoS, but the strategic decisions are vastly different when every unit and model can charge anywhere
I need, NEED, that edit of the mugshot that's done up like a soldier of the Empire
>The faces are separate
James knew people were going to use them for Minotaur conversations. Where would be a good source of Tzeentch weapons? Was planning to put Tzaangor heads on them to make Tzeentch Minotaurs.
Wheres the best place to buy square bases that wont take weeks to arrive?
your lgs
Amazon
If you're a first worlder - your local auction portal (ebay etc). If you're a thirdworlder - you're out of luck.
>Wheres the best place to buy square bases that wont take weeks to arrive?
3d print or plywood etc
Managed to get a box of wyldwood rangers from my local dealer, should I build 8 (assuming I will mostly run them 7 wide with champion and musician and leave banner and 2 spare bodies for captain conversions) or full 10?
Also, are oathmark elf light infantry will be okay for glade guards?
Are pilgrims a good unit?
They seem pretty damn decent for being essentially unbreakable as long as you include a grail vow paladin on foot with them.
They're like discount flagellants with armor but no flails.
WOC Chaos dragon, infamously GW never released a model (with that one exception from warmaster which is a 10-12mm model game).
The alternatives im looking at is either:
>Gaulrach
Not modeled for a rider so its going to be a b***h to convert. Also expensive to track down in my parts of the world.
>DE or HE dragons
The sane option as far as I am concerned, oldschool model with a suitable place for a lord to ride.
>AOS Stormcast Ionus Cryptborn
Draconith ™®©, not a dragon. That said it is a suitable conversion base
>AOS Stormcast Karazai the Scarred
My local GW salesman tried pushing this on me. It does look like a dragon but I figure the 160mm diameter basesize is a dealbreaker as the WOC Chaos Dragon is 60 x 100 mm based
Any other options I should consider? Personally I think the DE/HE dragons are the route to go, I have some lord riders that probably will fit
Ionus would probably be an easy one to work with, since his skull motif can easily be Chaos'd up.
There was a youtube video posted earlier
for a sigmarine chaos dragon. I've got a spare set of hydra heads from my kharibdyss so I'm gonna give it a shot.
that looks quite decent
creature caster or dungeons and laser, or a 3d print
or a pair of wings to glue on a hydra
those were some interesting options
there is another
How do the 2023 Chaos Warriors stack up to the 2019 ones? Was hoping to mix and match in a big group of 20.
Pretty similar. I think they'd mix just fine.
>You vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about
manlets fill the back ranks
god I love those older models, on the 20x20mm base they look so packed. Also reminder that they dont have shieldwall..
The older chaos warriors are the reason I wanted to play them in TOW. I found a bunch secondhand and I'm using the chad warriors as Chosen. It kinda hurts that basic Warriors seem bad but I'll still paint up a couple units to play for fun. I can always switch into Timmy mode and play my dragon in tournaments.
I got 60 of them on my shelf and picked up another box from the local emarket today actually
>Also reminder that they dont have shieldwall..
How many ranks are you really planning on running with them, even chosen?
two ranks of 7 or 8 seem pretty much perfect for chaos warriors. You want guys hitting back.
7x3
I don't think I'm down for spending a ton when it just gets me +1 to combat res. Marauders are much better static CR bricks so I'd think Warriors are there to do damage.
its not for static combat res its for when the cav hit you and kill 10 dudes
Just got my ass clapped by Brets again, I can post a quick rundown battle report if anyone is interested
Do it. I’m a Bret player and I’m playing my first game next week. Any bret content is welcome.
Here's the battlelines before they clashed, I tried to do some canny sort of positioning stuff where I either baited him into overruns or anvils and then counter-charged but it just didn't work. He made some 16-18" charges with his peg knights and peg lord in his second turn and it didn't matter what I did nothing really hurt them, my counter-charging Big-Unz and Squig Boss bounced off their respective targets, my frenzy chariot rolled 6 impact hits and didn't kill a single knight before dying thanks to counter-charge. The Blorcs didn't do a single wound of damage despite the fact I tried to fan out with them and then they lost combat by one and got run down, and then my arrer shield boyz got their boss killed and also got run down. I think this is now my opponents 5th win on the trot and he's basically done nothing but move 16-18" away and then charge for all those games.
Sounds like you need a cheap screen.
How does screening work? I brought that 10 man unit of Night Goblins which promptly got destroyed and the peg knights overran, but I then charged them with my Big Unz and they formed on me because they're Skirmishers and proceeded to push my shit in
So you are saying you can't make a dent in them even when you charged? Don't you have any heavy hitters to specifically deal with armored elites?

Grim
Hon hon hon.
Thanks for the batrep anon.
I can't decided to go Gor heavy or Minotaur heavy.

Got my Tomb King soldiers (mostly) primed and Im getting ready to paint. Any official paint guides (similar to the ones for different Imperial Provinces) for the Tomb Kings? I checked the 6e Army Book but it looks like it just has guides for painting the bones. Nothing about canon Nehekharan city colors.
