That's not how reaction modifiers work.

There was a girl in my old Pathfinder group who only wanted to play high charisma characters because she was convinced high charisma=physically attractive and wanted her characters to be hot. Attempts to explain to her that wasn’t how it works were unsuccessful.

On one hand, you're right in that charisma is a stat that is not necessesarily based on physical appearance.

On the other hand, she's right in saying that High Charisma individuals are indeed physically attractive. Part of charisma as a stat abstraction is the "Animal Magnetism" that allows certaiin individuals to attract followers and command them

This stat only does what the GM says it does. Ergo it's useless as frick.

Dexterity only lets you dodge attacks the GM says they didn't roll high enough. And it only lets your finesse and range attacks hit the GM says weren't blocked by armor class. And only lets you succeed on ability checks and saving throws the GM didn't set a higher DC.

Dexterity does specific things. Charisma doesn't.

Dexterity is a measure of your character's ability to move around in physical space. Charisma is a measure of their ability to relate to people and get them to see their point of view. Its more adaptive in that an attractive man with a nice body, an incisive detective with a good grasp of human psychology, and an imperious, powerful magic user might have the same charisma, but use it in different ways, but it's still a measure of their efficacy at manipulating people

            >dexterity has specific, objective game effects
            >charisma doesn't (outside of spell casting)
            Boom.

It does when you assign a specific point value to their charisma, yes

Your players being weirdo autists are the problem. My high CHA players mostly use it it for diplomacy and negotiation.

It's still the most evil stat that fat ugly bastards use

        >fat ugly bastards
A term used almost exclusively by autists, it doesn't really change anything, tbh

Not how Charisma works and even at a 20 you get pathetic returns on your investment because the d20 range is so stupidly small, not to mention its a flat probability curve so morons are nearly just as likely to hit a DC as professionals, unless its inside a very tiny window of modifiers and TN. What a homosexualy game honestly, I hate DNDogshit.

    Play GURPS.

There is the virgin dnd cha and then there is the chad shadowrun cha. Especially if you're a summoner/pornomancer.

You just become an adept and invest all of your magic into boosting your charisma stats
Honestly it is kind of boring but it is effective.

So you don't create pornographical illusions in order to sneak around ir get credits/info from NPC's? You don't even edit porn movies or generate deep fakes?
I... I really expected something else. Sad.

The build the name refers to doesn't do that, but you can actually do that in most versions of shadowrun, it's just not called a "pornomancer"
