I started playing this year after a 10 year hiatus and besides some moronic weapon nerfs(ambi no longer full hs damage at range, caber cant delete light classes as easily, bfb mobility nerf etc.) it's still the same fun I had back then

Anyone who has played the game knows that it's undeniable. At any given moment, half of TF2's active players are bots. There are so many bots that some maps (especially ones during holiday updates) are unplayable. There simply aren't enough human players to make bots a rarity. Even then, accepting bots as a fact of life is cuck behavior since Valve should have addressed the issue long ago.
There will be no solutions because the only solutions can come from Valve and they have de facto abandoned the game. #SaveTF2 was a massive social media campaign and it still didn't get Valve to do anything substantial. And community servers are 100% dead compared to what they were years ago. Very few of them have any kind of consistently active playerbase.
the problem is that you don't want solutions, you just want to say the game is bad and insult the fans. For example, objectively you cannot say that community servers are dead, since several hundred exist at the minimum, each of which pander to different game modes and tastes. I can hop on right now and enjoy some Death run, or Versus Saxton Hale, or even fool around on a minecraft or mario kart server. If you don't like those things, that's fine, but that doesn't make them disappear.

I used to enjoy TF2, really did to the point of putting over 3K hours onto it, it was the only reason I had gotten Steam back then, but it just sucks these days and last few years;

The only thing I still enjoyed by 2019-2020 was a few community servers whom hosted the fun and creative community modes like Stop That Tank, VHS, TF2Ware, Prop Hunt, Freak Fortress, all those kinds of modes. And then by 2021 when I had already left all of them died or shutdown the groups running them.
I really want to go back and play but the look of the game, it's where I made most of my friends, but the way people behave and fanboy hard over it, the way it looks now all bloated and ugly, and every match being boring with no fun and always unbalanced or with a bot is just way beyond annoyance for me.

Honestly I want to love TF2 again but it feels like the game I used to love and play is just kinda gone. I stopped playing the game after the meet your match update so I'm just answering my own question at this point.
It died after mannconomy, the corpse was raped with f2p and the bones were liquified into piss with the comp update.
But yeah, it's still better than 95% of games on the market. New or old. Despite Valve doing nearly every single fricking thing in their power to kill the fun. But that still leaves 5%. And that actually equates to a frick ton of games. I havn't felt the need to play tf2 in years now.

Pyro's best tool is airblast and taking that away in exchange for crits that you're unlikely to get against a competent team isn't really worth it, which is why it genuinely confuses me why this weapon generates so much rage when a Pyro who's good at airblasting is going to get way more done than a Phlog Pyro would.
