The thing is, I don't think this VA is that bad, she like 2-3 good lines which means, it was probably a director problem, If an Actor can capture the voice 2-3 times, then 100% it should be doable, now unless this woman botched it every other time until the time was up, I'm guessing it was the director in charge of VA
It completely missed the beauty of Ada, she is extremely dull, arrogant and stoic, unless she is talking to Leon, that is why her last actress was great, you could see how special Leon is to her, and the fact that Leon was now helping Ashley and entirely focused on her the whole mission, this should had made Ada 100% angry and it's never showed

I just beat the game last night and I agree completely. She genuinely just sounds bored at all times, like a fricking grandma for some reason. The most atrocious voice acting I've seen in a triple A title in over a decade.
Was her voicework any better in Separate Ways? Haven't played that yet.

It's so much better that when you get to the scenes from the base game it is jarring in comparison. I don't know if separate ways had a different voice director or if the existing one just told Lily Gao to shape up or ship out, but Ada is way better in the dlc.

That said I agree with the VA being terrible. In addition to her monotone delivery it always sounded like she was speaking into a can.
Ada's VA is literally the only one that cannot acts, it's hardly a voice director issue as ALL of the other actors played their parts perfectly fine. I'm not big on the change for Wesker and Krauser's VAs but they can at least act. Ada's cannot and when she was called on it she immediately ran to play the race card. It has nothing to do with her ethnicity, the problem is she has zero talent and was only hired BECAUSE of her ethnicity. She was a diversity checkbox hire. The thing that makes it worse is she's a MASSIVE b***h outside of her "acting". She's a miserable human being and wants to play the victim. The initial harassment she got was out of line but again it has nothing to do with her skin color. She can't act period. She needs to find another profession.

Yeah her VA was shit but I don't think the remake had exceptional voice work as a whole. The only character voices I enjoyed were Leon (even though his personality wore on me), Ashley and surprisingly enough, the merchant.
I enjoyed everyone but Ada and that lady on the comms. Makes sense that the women are the weak points in the VA but all the other characters are great and don't have much to work with anyway. It's an amazing game with or without one or two bad voice actors. The game is available in like 20 different languages I'm sure English isn't even the worst one.

Those are separate characters with different loadouts, you have to unlock them first.
