If you read the brief it says there were multiple unidentified individuals entering the complex and have yet to leave. The mission is to secure the suspect on the third floor, but surprise surprise there's another illegal operation on the second floor.

It's used for aiming a laser with night vision on. You can't look through most optics with night vision on so you have to use a laser to aim and you cant the gun with the laser like this.

Am I too old for vidya now? I literally can't beat Brisa Cove. I've tried flooding everything with gas. They just run away and wall bang me. I've tried going full lethal and shooting everyone in the head on sight. I'll get like 75% of the way through the map then get by someone sprinting through a door and one-tapping me in 0.01 second reaction time. I've tried hanging in the back and having SWAT clear everything. They get wiped on the side rooms every time. I don't know how to get past it, and its only mission 5...
The suspect AI are worse than before. I don't know what they did, but they're more bullshit now. I actually thought they were in a good place with the ADAM update.

If you use the free cam mod, you can clearly see that AI does have wallhacks. If they are "aware" of your location because they heard you shoot or something, they snap to pointing at you through the wall and track you exactly as you move. That's why they are so fricking accurate when they decide to wallbang.

Why are most of the career mode unlocks batched behind the same few missions? Why not more evenly distribute them over the course of the campaign?

Been doing some testing on a mod map. AI bullets can penetrate all cover, while your bullets are affected by material. I put 6 layers of brick wall, and a suspect with a handgun can wallbang through all 6. The 7.62 rifle only penetrates 3. Your glock only penetrates 1.
Another bug that's been around since the start is penetration is only affected by your side of the wall, not both sides. So if a wall is brick on one side and drywall on the other side, people on the outside can't penetrate (since they are shooting brick) but people on the inside (shooting drywall) can.

Mindjot is a scary map with this bug. You can be chilling outside and if they catch a glimpse of you, bullets will be coming through the wall all over.
Why would they bother including the new Hub/Precinct in this update? There's no story element to it, the NPCs are all non-interactive furniture. The player stations are spread out, and there's random spawns in the Precinct for some odd reason. I don't get it. Clearly there seems to be some story/interactive elements planned in the future in the way the Police chief moves around, how last mission's perps are in the lockup, but why show this shallow, hollow sloppy shit now?
And how did they manage to make their customization even worse? You can't see shit, everything is an unlock. I can't even find out how to change what my cop physically looks like. What a travesty for this to be called v1.0 of the game, it's worse than the last one aside from the SWAT AI actually doing shit now.
There is a ton of cut content. The trailer prominently featured you going to therapist and each mission exit has a message telling you to visit the therapist, but you can't. There was probably a whole series of therapy cutscenes cut.

Customization is dogshit. Its so zoomed out, tons of stuff are missing icons, lots of stuff seems to be duplicates (both some colors being identical, and also some shirts that say "rolled sleeves" just seem to have the same model as the base shirt).
Also, if 90% or your guns are going to be ARs, why not just have 1 base ar and let us customize the stock, camp, and barrell length? Would be way cleaner than listing 10 variants of the same rifle.

After playing 1.0 last night with my friend, my major complaint with this game is the AI. You can go slow and tactical, but the AI will fricking laser point you from around corners. They're both fricking moronic in their behavior with laser aim. It's really annoying.
I generally dislike the overemphasis on huge levels and I think the “environmental storytelling” is a joke but other than that I agree. Fix the suspect AI and it’s a good game even if it isn’t quite what SWAT 3 and 4 were.
Once people reach Mindjot or Brisa Cove, the reviews should fall off a fricking cliff. There is no way the devs playtested the game at all. I guarantee you that some of the best players in the world at RoN aren't getting good scores on those maps without several resets.

It's honestly better to make these changes yourself so you can get it exactly how YOU want it. It's kind of annoying because you have to use a tool/script to extract the AI config file from a .pak archive in the game folder and then repack it after making changes but the repacked file can't be any bigger than the original. It's easy to make it the right size though because you can just delete variables and comments in the file that you have no interest in. I haven't played on this update yet so I still need to tweak the newest AI config for mine, working on that now though. I could share an AI config with you but you'll still need to use the tool to repack it into your pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak file because that file is 27GB for me but the AI config itself is only like ~30KB, at least it was in the last update.The tool/script and readme with instructions can be found here though: https://kronzky.info/ron/aimod.html

The AI config has sections for specific map/gametype combinations where variables can be separately configured for that map/gametype. If I had to guess, they probably just increased the suspect HP for that map. I could be wrong though and there's a unique variable for armor now.

I thought the first thing when I first started playing this game when it came out, same as all my friends. It's definitely much more enjoyable when you tweak the AI to not be instantaneous aimbots that can tank multiple shots while 1 tapping your whole squad.

None of them surrender and instead will try their best to kill you by firing full auto and suppressing you, while you trying to shoot back does nothing cause your aim is fricked

If you use the freecam mod, you can see that the enemies do indeed preaim. Once they are aware of you, they lock onto you and track you through walls. So like if you have ever been shot at by them, you can never peak or flank them. Your only option is to use a grenade or send a different unit at them.
Yup I used it and noticed this as well, shills will tell you its sound based but its clearly not. You can even see them swarm you like ants.

Its not sound based because they track the person they shot at, not simply who is nearest them. Like if they see you at one door and shoot at you, you retreat, and run 180 degrees around them to back door, they will track you the whole way. Then your friend can go in the original door and shoot them in the back. They just lock on to the last person they shot at.
The game is completely fricking broken on Mindjot. The SWAT AI has no idea what to do. One one of the doors on the exterior, if you tell them to stack up, one guy will run off one his own and go through the whole map doing god knows what. In the big datacenter area, if you tell them to bang it, they bounce the bang right off a server by the door back to themselves, and bang themselves. In the area with stairs behind the data center, if you tell them to clear it, 3 of them will stand at the base of the stairs while one guy goes up the stairs to gunfight multiple suspects. Only way to beat Mindjot with a decent rating is to tell SWAT to wait outside and clear the map yourself.
Its so fricking annoying how everyone responds to criticism with "Go back to COD" when this games feels a like more like COD on a high difficulty than it does SWAT 4 or vintage Rainbow Six. .
on the other hand, shooting does feel fricking awesome, great gun animations, good sounds loud and chaotic. i would instantly play pvp in this game. they dont even have to do much. just turn the maps as is into TDM and DM. ez. the shooting is so satisfying and i would rather have shootouts with real humans that would also get suppressed when i fire back than aimbotting AI.

Same number of suspects and civilians. The spawns are slightly randomized. And I mean slightly. Like if you play a map 3 or 4 times, you'll have a good idea of where they are likely to be.
Then there's a good chance you'll like the game.
If not, it's harder to say.
It's made with a specific audience in mind and if you're not part of it, you'll probably not enjoy it.
Haven't played since the update so can't speak on the campaign, but I probably couldn't justify spending that much on it unless I had some friends I really wanted to play it with. It's a fun game but I got it in January last year and I have 43 hours, it's not the kind of game I would sink a ton of time into but that might be different for people who were addicted to games like SWAT.

I'm not trying to defend the game by any means but it seems like trailers are just not enabled in campaign mode for some reason. They show up in practice mode (haven't tried MP yet to see if they work there) but they don't really add anything to the game aside from some immersion I guess. They look goofy as hell throwing civilians and suspects over their shoulder and carrying them instead of walking them out.
I'm 99% certain that the briefing audio is both AI generated speech and script. The delivery is terrible and the word choice is really bizarre and uncanny at times.

Also their early access info said that the game will be in EE for a year, while we were at 2 years lmao, at 3 years the scam would become obvious. Practice mode and Multiplayer if you can communicate you're learning everything. I'm unlocking the station and new missions as I'm going through them, it seems, even if I got a D on 23 Megabytes Per Second due to my team doming the suspect on the spot.
I had 150 hours in multiplayer before 1.0. Right now I'm playing the missions through practice mode to learn the map layouts and such then move onto multiplayer. The story is minimal and with how shit the suspect AI is right now I don't think the story mode is worth the trouble.

For whatever fricking reason the devs have completely ignored all the outcry about the suspect ai, because it's been going on for the entire life of the game. Not to mention they were confirmed to have watched this breakdown video
over a year ago, and still nothing. At this point it seems like a conscious choice to not fricking change it.
It has to be a conscious decision to not change it, since simply things like the AI reaction times are just parameters in a text file and they are set the exact same as they were a year ago. The gameplay overhaul mod up on Nexus just changes a couple numbers and feels a thousand times better. AI does have deeper issues than that like tracking you through walls and shit, but simply slowing down their 180 noscopes makes the game feel 300x better.
The game lacks so much polish. Even on simple things like menus. Under the unlocks, certain things refer to the map by mission name, and some refer to it by location name. Shouldn't early access iron shit like this out?
Just played through Elephant. What a let down. I was looking forward to this map for years. It was nothing like what I thought it would be.

If you read the brief it says there were multiple unidentified individuals entering the complex and have yet to leave. The mission is to secure the suspect on the third floor, but surprise surprise there's another illegal operation on the second floor.

theres a toggle for canted sights, canted sights arent in the game but you can add a laser, him tilting the gun is his aim down sights. sights that dont exist and give you an excellent sight picture.

The mission lineup has a psuedo-difficulty ramp up as stages get more bigger and complex introducing door traps or low light environments and heavily armed suspects. last mission is the port freight map and missions before are all intense with terrorists, cartel memebrrs, disguised suspects. Theres are outliers but since streamer has 3 floors, u can get shot from other floors since the ai can zero in on you at angles u cant see. The cabin level wouldve fit better as a 2nd mission

If you use the free cam mod, you can clearly see that AI does have wallhacks. If they are "aware" of your location because they heard you shoot or something, they snap to pointing at you through the wall and track you exactly as you move. That's why they are so fricking accurate when they decide to wallbang.

Been doing some testing on a mod map. AI bullets can penetrate all cover, while your bullets are affected by material. I put 6 layers of brick wall, and a suspect with a handgun can wallbang through all 6. The 7.62 rifle only penetrates 3. Your glock only penetrates 1.
This has been a thing for awhile. Absolute bullshit if they still have not fixed it.
Just fired 5 shots into a door only for a suspect to shoot me once and instantly kill me.
Another bug that's been around since the start is penetration is only affected by your side of the wall, not both sides. So if a wall is brick on one side and drywall on the other side, people on the outside can't penetrate (since they are shooting brick) but people on the inside (shooting drywall) can.

Why would they bother including the new Hub/Precinct in this update? There's no story element to it, the NPCs are all non-interactive furniture. The player stations are spread out, and there's random spawns in the Precinct for some odd reason. I don't get it. Clearly there seems to be some story/interactive elements planned in the future in the way the Police chief moves around, how last mission's perps are in the lockup, but why show this shallow, hollow sloppy shit now?
And how did they manage to make their customization even worse? You can't see shit, everything is an unlock. I can't even find out how to change what my cop physically looks like. What a travesty for this to be called v1.0 of the game, it's worse than the last one aside from the SWAT AI actually doing shit now.
There is a ton of cut content. The trailer prominently featured you going to therapist and each mission exit has a message telling you to visit the therapist, but you can't. There was probably a whole series of therapy cutscenes cut.

Customization is dogshit. Its so zoomed out, tons of stuff are missing icons, lots of stuff seems to be duplicates (both some colors being identical, and also some shirts that say "rolled sleeves" just seem to have the same model as the base shirt).
Also, if 90% or your guns are going to be ARs, why not just have 1 base ar and let us customize the stock, camp, and barrell length? Would be way cleaner than listing 10 variants of the same rifle.

After playing 1.0 last night with my friend, my major complaint with this game is the AI. You can go slow and tactical, but the AI will fricking laser point you from around corners. They're both fricking moronic in their behavior with laser aim. It's really annoying.
I generally dislike the overemphasis on huge levels and I think the “environmental storytelling” is a joke but other than that I agree. Fix the suspect AI and it’s a good game even if it isn’t quite what SWAT 3 and 4 were.

It's honestly better to make these changes yourself so you can get it exactly how YOU want it. It's kind of annoying because you have to use a tool/script to extract the AI config file from a .pak archive in the game folder and then repack it after making changes but the repacked file can't be any bigger than the original. It's easy to make it the right size though because you can just delete variables and comments in the file that you have no interest in. I haven't played on this update yet so I still need to tweak the newest AI config for mine, working on that now though. I could share an AI config with you but you'll still need to use the tool to repack it into your pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak file because that file is 27GB for me but the AI config itself is only like ~30KB, at least it was in the last update.The tool/script and readme with instructions can be found here though: https://kronzky.info/ron/aimod.html

The AI config has sections for specific map/gametype combinations where variables can be separately configured for that map/gametype. If I had to guess, they probably just increased the suspect HP for that map. I could be wrong though and there's a unique variable for armor now.
Will this break multiplayer?
You may need to disable server side checksum in gameplay options but other than that no, AI config changes only work in multiplayer if the host has it.
That said though, it's always a good idea to backup your original config file or .pak file just in case something gets corrupted or whatever.
Might try this, the game feels great when things work and your squad AI has been pretty effective for me

I thought the first thing when I first started playing this game when it came out, same as all my friends. It's definitely much more enjoyable when you tweak the AI to not be instantaneous aimbots that can tank multiple shots while 1 tapping your whole squad.

If you use the freecam mod, you can see that the enemies do indeed preaim. Once they are aware of you, they lock onto you and track you through walls. So like if you have ever been shot at by them, you can never peak or flank them. Your only option is to use a grenade or send a different unit at them.
Yup I used it and noticed this as well, shills will tell you its sound based but its clearly not. You can even see them swarm you like ants.
Its not sound based because they track the person they shot at, not simply who is nearest them. Like if they see you at one door and shoot at you, you retreat, and run 180 degrees around them to back door, they will track you the whole way. Then your friend can go in the original door and shoot them in the back. They just lock on to the last person they shot at.
The game is completely fricking broken on Mindjot. The SWAT AI has no idea what to do. One one of the doors on the exterior, if you tell them to stack up, one guy will run off one his own and go through the whole map doing god knows what. In the big datacenter area, if you tell them to bang it, they bounce the bang right off a server by the door back to themselves, and bang themselves. In the area with stairs behind the data center, if you tell them to clear it, 3 of them will stand at the base of the stairs while one guy goes up the stairs to gunfight multiple suspects. Only way to beat Mindjot with a decent rating is to tell SWAT to wait outside and clear the map yourself.
Or give them all shields, the AI is beyond broken on that map. Sometimes they don't even stop clearing or will just get stuck on a door lmao

They show up in practice mode (haven't tried MP yet to see if they work there) but they don't really add anything to the game aside from some immersion I guess. Practice mode and Multiplayer if you can communicate you're learning everything. I'm unlocking the station and new missions as I'm going through them, it seems, even if I got a D on 23 Megabytes Per Second due to my team doming the suspect on the spot.
I had 150 hours in multiplayer before 1.0. Right now I'm playing the missions through practice mode to learn the map layouts and such then move onto multiplayer. The story is minimal and with how shit the suspect AI is right now I don't think the story mode is worth the trouble.

For whatever fricking reason the devs have completely ignored all the outcry about the suspect ai, because it's been going on for the entire life of the game. Not to mention they were confirmed to have watched this breakdown video
over a year ago, and still nothing. At this point it seems like a conscious choice to not fricking change it.
It has to be a conscious decision to not change it, since simply things like the AI reaction times are just parameters in a text file and they are set the exact same as they were a year ago. The gameplay overhaul mod up on Nexus just changes a couple numbers and feels a thousand times better. AI does have deeper issues than that like tracking you through walls and shit, but simply slowing down their 180 noscopes makes the game feel 300x better.
Agreed, and I think I'm going to have to wait until said mod has been updated for 1.0 so I can reinstall it and actually enjoy the game again

The no traps mod still works. And mods don't block unlocks or cheevos, so there is no reason not to use it.
The game lacks so much polish. Even on simple things like menus. Under the unlocks, certain things refer to the map by mission name, and some refer to it by location name. Shouldn't early access iron shit like this out?
How do you check what your score was on a level after you have completed it?
You can't unless replay it. It will show you best score next time you finish it.

Just played through Elephant. What a let down. I was looking forward to this map for years. It was nothing like what I thought it would be.

I've run the school a few times and hear random gunfire and find dead civilians in corners of the map. The dead civs are penalizing my score like it did before 1.0. I think there is an active shooter mechanic and its just toned down from before 1.0. Bombs are gay though.
