>feasible - possible to do easily or conveniently
Not at all? What do you even mean? It’s a property owned by Nintendo for game systems over 25 years old.
>the draw distances would be abysmal
Don't pretend it's that good in N64 OOT either. The whole Hyrule field has a hill in the middle just to prevent seeing from one edge to another.
Also, did you gays forget that Spyro exists on PS1? It innovated with 3D and texture LODs that allowed near unlimited drawing distances.
>4 min load to start the game >opening video has human actors saying edgy things >1 min load every time you enter new area or open door >landscape is constantly jittery and shifting >pixels are so sharp it hurts your eyes >movement and aiming with Dpad is horrendous
Without taking into account how different art, ost and design choices would be:
Cons >loading screens >less tight controls >fmv
Pros >fmv >references to playstation games (like the mario paintings in the castle, but instead its crash or whatever)
>not really comparable to OOT
Yeah, because it was fun. >Too bad Nomura fricked up the sequel so much.
I only learned about that years after the fact. It made me realize he was always a chuuni homosexual and KH1 and 2 were a fluke.
>Yeah, because it was fun.
I mean it isn't really similar to OoT, it's a linear 3D game with simple fixed cameras and small maps. Very interesting designs though.
Never liked KH, I remember when it was first announced as "Mickey mouse x final fantasy crossover" I thought it was a joke, and it was weird seeing Playstation fans hyping it up while simultaneously shitting on Wind Waker for being kiddy
>it's a linear 3D game with simple fixed cameras and small maps
OoT isn't all that open, and if you take away the big open empty Hyrule Field, they don't feel all that different in terms of scope. >I remember when it was first announced as "Mickey mouse x final fantasy crossover" I thought it was a joke
Same, but then a friend forced me to play it and it clicked with me.
There's nothing in Musashi as big/complex as any of the dungeons/temples from OoT.
It feels more like an adventure Crash Bandicoot with rpg mechanics

>big/complex as any of the dungeons/temples from OoT.
But they aren't complex at all. The dungeons have one big room in the middle you keep circling through, but they're mostly comprised of small truncated rooms that you have to go through in a linear order. You could make the argument that they're big, but you never really feel that outside of rare moments like jumping through the spider web in the deku tree, and they're definitely not complex at all.
>Musashi is pure shitpost, game intention is totally different between the 2
An action adventure game where you explore, fight things, and solve puzzles with new powerups you find?
>let's ship out a console that can't even align textures right >people get nostalgic over these gross warbly textures and even try to imitate it in modern games with a "ps1 shader"
I hate playstation gays
it never made sense to me why Nintendo hadn't released their best selling third party game on their competitor's console toward the end of their life cycles, it's literally a license to print money. Anyone who is stuck on those consoles but wanted to try the game out would.
I'd imagine it would eat into sales of their console if they just release on their competitors systems. If Nintendo began releasing on Playstation then nobody would bother buying a Switch.
Again, Nintendos biggest draw is their first party line up. If they began releasing on other systems it makes buying their consoles way less appealing to an average customer. Nobody will buy a Nintendo console again if all they have to do is wait for them to release on the console they already own. I've seen people not bother with PS5 because most playstation games are now coming out on PC.

Again, that's well good and all but it's out of print, there's free money to be made. Not lost.

It's still being sold digitally and it would be better for Nintendo business wise to just port it to their next console instead of putting it on Playstation or even PC. I mean I wouldn't say no to Nintendo games coming out on PC myself but I get why Nintendo wouldn't do it.

Do you not think PS5 gamers would buy Breath of the Wild?

Missing the point. Yeah I'd say PS5 users would pick up BoTW. But the exclusivity to the Switch gives the Switch value as a system. If Nintendo began releasing on other systems people outside of their most loyal customers will not bother buying their systems. It's not the free money scheme you seem to think it is. Needlessly devaluing your own platform for no good reason. It'll benefit consumers yeah but it'll frick over Nintendo in the long run.

More like exclusivity to the Switch gives value to the game.

>Missing the point.
it's a different line of inquiry
it invented a technique for that, it used hallways that limited the player's sight so that they could load the next area up as they were coming through and turning the corner.
There is nothing in that game the ps1/saturn couldn't do:
Resolution = 320x240
Frame Rate = 20
Colour Depth = 8bit with severe dithering
Rom Size = A few megabytes.
They wouldn't have to cut a bunch of dungeons from the game to fit it on a tiny cartridge so we could actually have master quest.
kings field and megaman legends >>> OOT. the n64 was the multiplayer machine outside of based sin and punishment which would've been better with a dualshock so I don't have to move using the fricking c buttons
I thought you were supposed to move with the D-pad and aim with the joystick. Moving with C buttons would have been a nightmare, and I loved Sin and Punishment even though I prefer Star Successor.
the n64 dpad is such a piece of shit that I found the c buttons layout more responsive - doesn't really matter what side of the freak mutant controller you're holding its a game that plays a lot better emulated with dual analog
True, but moving with d-pad and aiming with the joystick is not that different from a modern dual-stick setup except for getting your thumbs cut by the d-pad lol
>feasible - possible to do easily or conveniently
Not at all? What do you even mean? It’s a property owned by Nintendo for game systems over 25 years old.
autists being deliberately obtuse and providing nothing of value to a thread is one of my favorite reruns on Ganker
imagine the loading screens
You mean soul screens.
In what way? It would look better.
You sure?
mmm yummy jaggies and jittery models
Some games looked better on N64 tho
It would probably run but the draw distances would be abysmal, which would especially suck for Hyrule Field.
Not even a challenge.
>the draw distances would be abysmal

I want it
Imagine this as well
>sega saturn if sega didn’t do everything wrong with it
>FF7 if Square wasn't fricking around

Much more SOVL, guaranteed
PS1 had Alundra, which was better at being Zelda, and Musashi, which was a better 3D action adventure game.
Musashi was such a weird game, not really comparable to OOT at all but still neat.
Too bad Nomura fricked up the sequel so much.
>not really comparable to OOT
Yeah, because it was fun.

Alright
Alundra is a better 2D Zelda in any case, and thats debatable. Musashi is pure shitpost, game intention is totally different between the 2
>Musashi is pure shitpost, game intention is totally different between the 2

Alundra was copying stale action adventure games from the previous generation.
Meanwhile Zelda was bringing the genre into the next generation in 3D with unmatched results.
>Meanwhile Zelda was bringing the genre into the next generation in 3D
And dumbing it down
I've seen this webm a lot, is it the only part of the game they did? Would like to see Termina field in PS1 graphics
the character models look more like an early PS2 game the walls and ground look fine though.
Those are the N64 models anon.

makes you realize how bad psx visuals were at conveying a sense of depth and distance
sickening
it never made sense to me why Nintendo hadn't released their best selling third party game on their competitor's console toward the end of their life cycles, it's literally a license to print money. Anyone who is stuck on those consoles but wanted to try the game out would.
They want to reserve those re-releases for the next OR a future console.
they're just leaving money on the table. If they dropped Breath of the Wild on a PS5 right now, that's free money.
I'd imagine it would eat into sales of their console if they just release on their competitors systems. If Nintendo began releasing on Playstation then nobody would bother buying a Switch.
It's out of print on Switch if I'm not mistaken, just entirely free money.
Again, Nintendos biggest draw is their first party line up. If they began releasing on other systems it makes buying their consoles way less appealing to an average customer. it's a different line of inquiry
It would look like shit because as much as a hate the vaseline textures of the nintendo 64, unfiltered they look even worse due to stretching
but this looks good on actual hardware
Is it possible or not? Stop consolewarring and answer the fricking question homosexuals
Theoretically yeah. They're making a PC port, that could in turn be ported to PS1.
>Muh load times
Did the PS1 version of Soul Reaver have any? Its open world is certainly bigger than Hyrule Field and it's all connected
it invented a technique for that, it used hallways that limited the player's sight so that they could load the next area up as they were coming through and turning the corner.
You seem to think people are *mostly* willing to buy a Nintendo console to play its exclusives. I disagree, and would wager the statistics back me up.

N64 had MUCH weaker hardware
than PSX.
