I bought a ex rental copy of Legend of Legaia (PS1) for a Dollar. The disc is complete fricked. Giant thick rental sticker. Bottom of disc scratched to hell. Even the Label side of the disc is fricked, but underneath that stupid fricking dvd case it's in. Is both the original top and bottom paper labels for the game's case. In mint condition.

Oh yea... I also recently bought a Zombies Ate my Neighbors (SNES) for $30. It's very well used. I'm going to open it up and give the contacts a good eraser cleaning before testing it out. The Label isn't too bad. You can tell it's been around for a while, but other than not being mint it's great.

I bought REmake for GameCube for $15, it's a tough game, I need to get used to the zombies pattern to avoid them.

Anime related, I also bought some Chinese DVDs from early 2000s. It's cool to watch these things because they're like a window to the past.

bought the japanese version of rule of rose for $250 because i didn't want to pay $800 for the us version. hopefully i don't have to be fluent in japanese to play and enjoy it.

Literally the only difference between what you're doing and emulating is placing the cartridge into a (knockoff) console. Oh, and the money you wasted on all that shit. Why don't you just emulate?

I paid around 50 bucks including shipping for a broken SNES on eBay. No video output. Hoping it's just a simple fix like replacing the multi out. Also crossing my fingers that it's a 1 chip.
Also ordered an untested Genesis for 34 bucks. Hoping that it just boots up.
I'll probably make a repair thread and post about it there when I get them fixed up.
Other than that I haven't bought much of anything retro. Been really jonesing for a new N64 to have as a backup. An Everdrive 64 would be cool but I'll have to wait for them to be in stock. It's the only system that I don't have one for aside from the Turbo Everdrive, which I don't even have a console to use it on, and the new-ish Genesis ED that supports Sega CD games. I may just want to get a Sega CD and burn games as needed.

Cheaper than a dust cover. Better than nothing when it comes to water proofing. Lightweight, versatile.

I need to get a camera and take a photo, but I delicately hand trimmed an OEM glaciet shell and put an ita screen with a reproduction gba label and glass mario and luigi lens, exact replica jusco gba. I lucked out and found a lot of shells for ebay cheap and the glacier shell has vibrant color all others I've seen are faded. All oem parts, I took the best most unused looking buttons from a gba I got from nipland, and it's mobo. I really think I've hit my peak with modding. It outshines the ags-101, and NO CHINK PARTS. You cannot even tell I trimmed it with hobby knife. Hell I cleaned and putthe foam screen padding behind the ita screen.

the cutscenes are in english so the story won't be an issue. i know a bit of japanese but i'm far from fluent. if nothing else i can use a walkthrough if i have to.

              Anonymous

Yeah, sure. In lieu of a regular playthrough experience, I too would love having to fall back on a freaking walkthrough in a game I just payed 250 bucks for because I can't understand basic instructions on the screen. That sounds like a wonderful time and a worthy investment of one's money.

why do you care what i do with my money? the $250 i spent on it is $250 that i'll never miss and it's well worth it to have my holy grail game. having the japanese version is better than not having it at all. i'm intelligent enough to figure out a simple game through trial and error. none of this bothers me and if it bothers you then i suggest that you don't buy japanese games.

I wouldn't buy Japanese games if didn't know Japanese i'll tell you that much - 250 bucks or not. But hey, if it's your hail grail game...

My most recent acquisition was this PS3 Kiosk.

I think it's from to-love-ru? It's one of those ramen topper figurines, I honestly bought it because I had hopes to mod it into an Etna figurine, but I couldn't find a donor figurine that had the right proportions, so now it just sits there.

They look cool, some of them use non-retail hardware, you're not supposed to own them because they are technically property of the company that issued them.
And they're just fun to play around with.

                >They're not suppose to own them
I think thats what is enticing people to go out an collect them. Suppose everyone needs something to collect.
Outside of those few Kiosks, what do you collect?
