I stopped using PA in like 2008 outside of asian region games, I would suggest Amazon or any other JP based sites right now since the yen is worth shit since the beginning of the year.

disco elysium is like an interactive book, more so than a vn. there is a LOT of reading and thinking "hmm, what does that really mean" etc. So I guess it depends why you dislike vns

I'd say start collecting shit from this era while it's at this price, some of the rarer stuff is starting to reach stupid levels and once the generation that grew up on this stuff is old enough to have stupid expendable income and have nostalgia for it they're all going to be way more expensive than they have any right to be

My haul the time before was way more kino tbh, I'd just bought a Saturn w/ Action Replay and then boom a bunch of cheap japanese Saturn games appear I had to buy em, altho these were all from a chain second-hand store. I don't like it as much but you find the odd thing every trip that makes it worth going, this haul was an exception. There's also a very upscale retro vidya store that does amazing restoration and repairs but every game and console in there is overpriced and banks off morons that don't know the value of stuff or are ok with paying those prices.

There's a couple of Disc Replays near me, one of which gets some decent import fighting games sometimes. Glad I got my retro shmup collecting out of the way before the prices got jacked up.

Probably the same thing that happened with the .hack games. Less and less people bought each subsequent installment (probably because they were becoming tired of getting gypped) so the print runs dwindled with the sequels. Funny how that works. Similar thing happened w/ Rule of Rose. Shit game (with kino atmosphere, music, and story, what a waste) which got very limited prints, and now it goes for like 600 USD.

Episode 3 had only 100k versions sold in North America making it a rare game especially in good condition. There is also the fact that the game will never get a remake due to how badly it sold.

I would love to own a Xenosaga Ep3 copy just for the sake of having it. The game is censored in some key cutscenes so is better to play the undub. I own both Kos-Mos and T-los figmas and their swimsuit statues, own the whole trilogy in japanese and the first two games in english, I just don't have the english Ep3 copy.
You better buy an English Ep3 Copy right now before it's too late. As time goes on the copies will only get more and more expensive as their existence dwindles.
