      > Cultist Simulator
The true cultured answer. The game really succeeded at capturing what makes transcendental horror special : the dive into antediluvian secrets to discover what is hiding behind the skin of the world.
The roguelite mechanism is moronic, though - excepted if you accept to take risks and develop your occultist skills directly instead of grinding stats for hours.

I was a fallen london/sunless sea enjoyer, but I couldn't bring myself to finish these Alexis Kennedy games, everything feels so disjointed, like reading a book but with every sentence in a randomized order

        SMT1 if you're a real Black person.
        Nocturne is a classic.
Soul Hackers is my personal GOAT.
SMTIV is also a good starting point.

Frankly most of them are good starting points, for the most part they're all standalone titles. Just poke around and pick one that interests you.

homie gnostics are literally saturday morning cartoon tier villains in terms of their motivations
    >why do you want to destroy the world?
    >because it's bad!

    >because it exists!

      >gnostics want to destroy the world
      ???????
Also, I thought the OP image was an alchemic art piece, not a gnostic one.

        Anonymous

the FINAL goal of the gnostic religion is to destroy the world as you know it and the demiurge
for all of the souls in the world to not exist anymore and be absorbed into the pleroma
some gnostics may say they only want to escape reincarnation but this is to feign innocence as they actually hold a deep deep hate for the world and its creator

          Anonymous

I have never heard this in my entire life. It sounds like you're misinterpreting or have been given a misinterpretation of gnostic abstention from the world given their cosmology is that we're in a morons lizard cage where they believe everything is spoiled. They didnt have a large hadron collider back in the days gnosticism began so the idea that theyd even think that was possible should be a tell that youre wrong. Yeah they think the creators fricked but above that are two primal sources of divinity you supposedly can come closer too by removing yourself from the didactic nature of earthly experience. Plus the good christians are basically gone. Modern gnostics are just homosexuals who use gnosis and are close to 20th century occult interpretations of christianity. True gnosticism is dead, might as well call yourself an erisian gnostic.

          > the FINAL goal of the gnostic religion is to destroy the world
Ahah, no. Gnosticism (and mysteries cults in general) is just a way for upper class people to feel special and justify their privileged social status by spouting crap about having true pneumatic souls or whatever.
Gnosticism has always been succesful when you have a prosperous society and high levels of wealth disparities. It’s copium for the parasitical, non-productive part of the elite class.
