I like the environment and what not but the storyline is israeli as frick and the online has israeli tendencies too. RDR1 is better
It's pretty boring, personally I enjoyed Subnautica and Stalker more. Sure RDR2 is technically impressive and has a lot of good detail but I got bored very quickly felt like I was mostly just aimlessly riding around between story missions. Game would have been more fun if it was an RPG and you could play as who you want to play as, not just Saint Arthur.

I haven't finished the story, I'm only at the mission in the place after Valentine where I had to drive the carriage full of women through the town and I can't shoot anyone in town because Dutch says I have to be a good boy.

I tried booting it up on my Xbone X last night so my brother in law could play it, we had to update the console and game since I hadn’t used it in a long time, and then the console straight up shut down as soon as the game started loading into gameplay. Not sure if my Bone just needs cleaning or this game is just too much to handle. Or the Xbox is just a massive piece of shit and it’s a good thing I switched to PC.

I know exactly what you mean. First time I played it I gave up before I ever even got to the second camp in the story but I probably spent more than 10 hours playing it by just roaming around, hunting animals and just taking in the world and the simulation that Rockstar made.
I think it's one of those things where you're not really meant to do or see everything to get out of it what the developers wanted. Then again I get the sense that the Houser brothers and other leads at Rockstar probably don't even play games anymore they just make them.

I did that the second time I played it.
But I didn't even say getting distracted was a bad thing. I enjoyed it actually. It just doesn't really work well with the story and how it's told, it fricks up the pacing. In fact I'd argue that for the story and the way they told it this didn't even need to be an open world game. In fact I don't recall a single mission that benefits from the game having an open world. But it's a hell of a world they built.

The first time I played if I didn't notice it at all, I'm replaying it again for the first time in about a year and all the propaganda really stands out.
I watched the video a while ago and there are definitely some interesting points made. But overall I don't get the propaganda angle. It's not propaganda, it's reflecting the culture and attitudes of today's society. That's generally what good art does in some way.

Probably my favorite series of all time. Including Revolver in this. Absolute masterpieces and each one is unique and spaced out enough.
I thought the missions and story were dumb but it's fun to dress up Arthur and go on hunting expeditions or to wipe out some camp full of enemies
