It's fun if you turn your brain off, larger playercount clusterfricks doesn't necessarily mean it's good, that's like saying Metro is the best map in the franchise but obviously this statement would piss off many here. Bad Company 2 is proof that not every map has be designed for 128+ players.

That is also possible in 64 player servers, the major difference is that none of your squad's actions will have an impact because you and the rest of squad are gonna be dependent on more than 100 teammates to do shit against 127 enemies.

Yeah 64 player Rush is pretty shit. The mode was designed for 24-32 players.
There were a couple of 128 player servers for that BF2 WW2 mods and they were the best ones. Actually felt like a war instead of a skirmish.
I guess it also helped that it was mostly played by boomer autists that actually completed objectives.
Frickers. morons. Nothing beats seeing 63 other dudes all rolling out next to you as you charge into battle, or running through the map seeing a dozen different firefights going on.
Sadly the trend nowdays is to have gay little 5v5 and 6v6 fights at best, see shit like siege and other troglodyte games.
You can have same experience in 32v32 servers as well.

I bet they didn't do any mapping or balance work to accomodate that many players. Then the maps were clearly too small, snipers were killing with one shot to body of anyone who leftthebuilding and vehicles were either everywhere or blown up in seconds
Snipers should be better balanced by having a few seconds to set up, and to have accuracy drop substantially unless prone. Also, for rockets, have them be a bit unpredictable at a long range unless locked on, to avoid rocket sniping.

Very few if any developers consist of the original crew these days. It's all name recognition at this point.
All legacy game companies and franchises are a ship of theseus. The people currently making all these games didn't even play the old games that we all loved, nor did most of the people playing them anymore. These games are made by people wearing suits that never had any real interest in games, designing games by poorly collected and misinterpreted analytics along with manipulative psychological techniques to keep people playing and paying.

Back to BF2 levels of player involvement. The most fun it has ever been was when you had shitloads of morons running around doing moron stuff.
The next closest was Battlefront 1 and 2 due to the map design and muh Star Wars shit but Battlefield 2 is still the epitome of the series.
It's funny that now you have to specify that you want actual classes to be present in the next Battlefield game.
The chances of DICE putting out a good game at this point are functionally zero so I just want to see how far the bar can fall.
Have a generalized point system you can use to choose what unlockables you want to get rather than having to grind the frick out of battle pass. 2042 was really stupid about the battle pass, the best tank in the whole game for the longest time was locked to it.
Actually just do that for all games that have the dumbass battle pass shit going on, just look at how fricked up Overwatch 2 is because Blizzard decided to have that.

it's still absurdly common on BF4 servers that some sperg will sit in AA in strategic areas of maps that will allow him to instantly spawnkill or prevent aircraft from having any sort of effect on the map
if you thought BF2 having the issue where aircraft would wreak havoc too easily on servers was bad, the polar opposite is true on BF4 and frankly it's fricking annoying. I've spent time on BF4 servers hunting down and targeting those gays exclusively and managing to get kicked/banned a few times because they also happened to be admins. Have a look at their profiles and they're utter shitters to boot

...and on maps without the AA, or maps where the AA can't hide/gets taken by a moron, the aircraft are fricking unstoppable because they have infinite flares, infinite repair, only take mobility hits from anything up to a soflam'd javelin (and one of the always-on heli upgrades lets you keep flying after a mobility hit anyway)

Vehicles should be fast, deal high damage, and have their whole kit unlocked baseline, they should also be dependant on team play to stay alive, no auto repair, no unlimited ammo, and rear shots should be 1hko. Also no auto aim launchers.

As for the setting, anything between 1960 to today, no gay future shit because of le copyright or wacky skins. Gun appearances aren't trademarked, only names and mechanisms. As for skins get creative within a set boundary, actual designers do it but obviously these underpaid concept artists aren't designers obviously. Also, no RPG/smaw, because it's availability and ease of use makes engineers play WORSE than if they learned to use javelins

No massive stretches of empty fricking land between flags destroying all potential good map design just to give the jets enough room to go straight for more than five seconds and causing a third of the server to sit on the fricking tarmac for "their turn" which often leads to one side getting a great pilot shitting on the other team which can't get their own jet in the air to take it out since AA is shit.

This alone fixes BF's biggest issue that causes so many more issues which get shitty bandaid "fixes"
Without Jets, you won't need anything like Stinger missiles and overwhelmingly powerful AA options to counter air.
Helicopters are fine. With only helicopters, attack and transport types, ordinary gunfire can chew them up quickly if they try hovering too close (don't want another Vietnam situation with Hueys spinning in tight circles directly over a spawn), and well-led dumbfire rockets can snipe them.
That's all I want, frick jets. They ruin EVERYTHING about the fricking series which is why the most popular maps have always been infantry focused ones without jets, like Karkand and Metro.

Is there a way to make vehicles not control like absolute ass? Maybe dedicated tutorials for controlling vehicles, so you don't crash the helicopter like a moron the very few times you get into one? Maybe simplifying controls to where you don't need to fight the helicopters and jets half the time while learning them.
