It's not. Modding is only for sceenshots because you'll never be able to overhaul the game completely and it's incredibly jarring to see old vanilla animations, models and textures for some objects that no mods cover. There's also no way to fix the floaty movement and combat. Compare it to something like MGSV or TLoU and it's a night and day difference. In those games it actually feels like the character is planted to the ground and moving through a physical space unlike Skyrim where it feels like a jpeg being dragged around. If you want to camly hike around mountains, just play Death Stranding instead.

NTA but went thru similar shit and can confirm that the game is simply too janky to be enjoyed even with mods. the sex animations get boring after about 4 fapping sessions and when you finally climax you realize you spent the last 2 days in front of your computer to achieve something which can be replicated in countless different ways most of them also being far quicker. i suggest some of you homosexuals go ahead and try to mod the game just so you can be free from the 'what if' demon yet do not expect anything special. the game is over a decade old on top of being a bethesda production and nothing can fix that

The reality is that if you don't enjoy the game unmodded, you won't enjoy it modded either. I already know every character and what they're going to say and there's not much left for me. Not really. It takes too long to do and you are still playing Skyrim at the end of the day. Just download one of the more realistic looking Illusion games (you can easily pirate them with modding packs already put in) if you want an animation player with customization.

Made my version into anniversary edition even though I never bought the anniversary edition DLC, half of the mods were updated to the anniversary edition, other half needed the anniversary edition DLC and somewhere in between troubleshooting I just gave up and launched another game. I don't have the patience anymore to deal with Todd's perseverance to kill the thing that made his game famous.
