The entire Leviathan story and Mysidia itself is boring as frick. Pointless to raise level cap when the EXP grind is this obscene. New Eikonic abilities are worthless when you're still capped to a whopping six at a time. FF mode is still obnoxious to play with the HP bloat that demands Zantetsuken spam. What few new quests we got are more XIV-tier go here and inspect sparkly spot shit. The score grading is nonsense, demanding variety from one of the most limited movesets ever. Shit sucks, Echoes of the Fallen was better.

I tried playing XVI after Rebirth and it's impossible. Rebirth isn't as good as turned based, but every fight I still get to think about my party and their moves and abilities and unique play styles and make some choices. XVI is straight up brain dead button masher

Was a fan of YoshiP when I actively played XIV. Started to sour on him and his team with how badly they supported Shadowbringers and Endwalker. Was interested to see what they would do if given a more single player mainline entry. The fact that XVI suffers greatly from being made by an MMO team was pretty apparent and I don't really feel like going back to XVI to play it just for a DLC that barely adds anything.
And let that be a lesson to you for doing console exclusives.

not quite yet, Inafune was a hack of no known bounds and at the very least Yoshida hadn't the balls to do a "better than nothing" gaffe. I hate modern Capcom but the fact that they actually released Mega Man 11 and it was a very good game, showing that the series never needed Inafune, will forever be a praiseworthy thing for me.
To be fair, while I hate the people sucking his dick, he did work on more than one good product. He was director of the three Dragon Quest games, including the MMO, before taking over FFXIV. It's because of his success with Dragon Quest X that he was tasked with salvaging FFXIV.
