I played the ps3 version and I still didn't beat it, especially because I played dark souls 1-3 and bloodborne first. I'm not buying a PS5 for that shit.
Still laughing at how their original "reference sheet" for their first redesign of Flamelurker included everything EXCEPT the original Flamelurker design. Really explains all of their other baffling visual changes if this is their typical design process.
Flopsoft fans generally seethe over the miniscule changes. It's embarrassing. On the same level as Counter Strike players with the same game for 20 years. kys immediately.
its amazing that they made all these changes to visuals and audio, but no changes to gameplay or content. If they were already changing all this shit they should have just ran with it, whoever directed the game should be fired
Maneater is one of my favorite tracks in the remake.
While Astraea's theme sounds drastically different, it works the way it plays out in actual gameplay. The intro is just part of the opening cutscene. As you move further into the cave the rest of the music plays as fight music against Vinland. After his defeat a somber tune plays with the interaction with Astraea.
I think the new track are fine for a listen, but can certainly miss the charm the original had. You can hear pic related, despite not being in the remake.
Flamelurker's theme went from brooding to tragic for some reason.
The original Maiden Astrea theme has a 7 beat melody over an 8 beat harmony to create a polyrhythm that falls in and out of sync, it's the core gimmick and it makes the whole song feel uneasy and imbalanced without actually being really dissonant
The remake track just repeats the first note in the melody to make them match up. Western "composers" literally could not handle a non-4/4 track and removed the core idea because it hurt their brains
question. I’m trying to do a demons souls platinum run, and my first run for fricked up. When I was doing Patches quest in 2-2, the bug exploded and he was caught in the blast and turned hostile. This gave me negative marks in character tendency. I thought, it’s not so bad, I’ll just go pure white in my next play through, but I didn’t realize character tendencies don’t reset ok NG+. Now I’m in NG+. Should I just restart the run? I can’t do either Mephistopheles quest since Patches died in the first run, so now I’m locked out of foes ring and friends ring, so I’ll have to go NG++ for friends ring, and then NG+++ for foes ring. Or I could just restart. Which should I choose?
>just buy a $400 copy of {game made before the ps4 generation} as well as {used console on the verge of falling apart} >just pirate the game
piracy is preferable at that point but either way a remake addresses no demand.
Bluepoint souls does effectively replace the original though because it's still trapped on a dead console. And it's the only one of those that didn't even try to mimic the atmosphere of the original. People meme on the awful redesigns but the voice acting and foley work are equally terrible.
>prevents me from playing the originals.
you have it backwards. the games are practically unavailable before a remake cones out and the remake is in no way faithful to the original release. therefore there is STILL no way to play the original game, AND the remake is generally worse.
Remasters/emulation or nothing.
tbf REmake 1 is my favourite game of all time and I think REmake 2 and 4 are great alternatives to the originals for the people who can't be bothered to play old games, but DeS remake is blatantly lazy
Play the original and move on with your life autismo.
[...] >AAAAAAA SOMEONE ENJOYED SOMETHING I DONT, IM GOING INSANE
you do the same but from the other side of the argument lol don't fricking kid yourself. people are allowed to criticize stuff and this makes you mad as frick
>you do the same but from the other side of the argument lol don't fricking kid yourself. people are allowed to criticize stuff and this makes you mad as frick
Literally no one who enjoys remakes makes threads about how they feel remakes are better. Meanwhile, Ganker always has at least a handful of autismos reeeeeing about remakes everyday.
Honestly love both Re4R and DSR. The DeS remake isn't even remotely on the same level. Having said that, I don't feel like it's possible for a remake to replace an original fully. There's still a good reason to go back and play the original games. Though I'd argue that Dead Space remake comes about as close to replacing the original as I've seen it isn't nearly as scary and made everything way too dark. The gameplay also isn't the same. In the old game you felt like you were shooting off limbs with a laser. In the new game, you have the peeling system.
>I don't feel like it's possible for a remake to replace an original fully. There's still a good reason to go back and play the original games
pretty much what I realized when I went back to play Resident Evil 1 years after playing REmake, to my shock, the original was an amazing game in it's own right
I don't have a problem with remaking ps1 games in theory, and 2make turned out pretty good aside from modern capcoms bland, sloppy presentation.
3make was an aborted cashgrab. The rest just seem like a waste of time to me, 4 years spent remaking already modern games, they're boring even if mostly competent.
>It's okay to supercede and search algo cover up your lying memories and eyes for a buck >It's OKAY that it makes it harder to find and play >It's okay : )
>5 pointless games that were already available in superior forms, that could have been entirely new game that even in the worst case scenarios would have at least been new experiences
Remakes are shit.
>could have been entirely new game that even in the worst case scenarios would have at least been new experiences
Oh yeah, because all new games are so fricking good...lol. Literally worse goyslop than any remake, but by all means go play Forspoken.
I did actually and liked it more than the original. Game was still fun, it looked gorgeous and ran smooth as hell, basically no load times, and the Maiden in Black was still hot as hell.
Stay seething by parroting every le epic Ganker opinion spouted ad nauseum by these joyless autistic homosexuals.
I played Souls games in weird order. >played DS1 when it came out, dropped >played DS3, dropped >ffw to 2018 >Bloodborne >Dark Souls 1 OG, then Remastered >Dark Souls 3 >Dark Souls 2 SOTFS last, because everyone says it's the worst (and I was an idiot who listened, because it's the best) >vanilla DS2 >Demon's Souls >Demon's Souls Remake >Elden Crap
I find it hilarious that people b***hed about how shit the initial Flamelurker redesign was that Bluepoint ended up changing him to look more like he originally did, but didn't take the hint of all their other shitty redesigns
it's literally the same exact game down to the bugs
dupe glitch doesn't work
Leave it to souls boys to know every glitch/ exploit
*animation cancels*
nothin personell
So they faithfully recreated everything except the thing that made the game good, like the artsyle and atmosphere?
yes
Unironically yes.
Based and true
>t-the original was a shit game anyway
Like clockwork
demon souls was pretty meh. Once i found out you can stagger almost everyone with the spear it became a joke.
>he played it retroactively instead of experiencing it when it was new
you didn't play the game
i played on release. i merely tried the spear one day and it fricked everything
Of all the major visual design changes, you chose to post the one that looks the same as the original?
Back in my day, trolling was a art.
I played the ps3 version and I still didn't beat it, especially because I played dark souls 1-3 and bloodborne first. I'm not buying a PS5 for that shit.
lol, did they record the voice actor in a bathroom stall for the remake?
Compared to the original.
>You didn't play Demon's Souls
lucky. garbage game, garbage 'genre,' garbage developer.
Can't wait to see what Bluepoint have in store for Bloodborne!
Top looks better
t. 13 year old

their reference was diablo 3 it seems
ah yes, diablo 3, the game praised for its art direction
They really referenced Thor: Ragnarok before referencing the fricking game they were remaking?
Nice God of War III arena you got there
Flopsoft fans generally seethe over the miniscule changes. It's embarrassing. On the same level as Counter Strike players with the same game for 20 years. kys immediately.
why did they do it bros
>>"""remake"""
>You didn't play Demon's Souls.
I platinum'd both versions, and it's still the worst souls game by miles.
I hate bluepoint so much it's unreal
its amazing that they made all these changes to visuals and audio, but no changes to gameplay or content. If they were already changing all this shit they should have just ran with it, whoever directed the game should be fired

You can't even delete characters in the Remake.
what really? just make a new account for more slots or what do they expect?
Nah you can just create a new savefile
This is absolutely the most egregious change in the game.
The entire characterization is completely different.
Being angry at remakes is a litmus test for autism.
It does actually
>have a des thread
>demake gays flood in
>thread ruined
Play the original and move on with your life autismo.
Games are more than just the game itself, there's the social dimension too
Confirmed autism.

Do fanboys really...?
That's not a strawman you dipshit. Go back to pleddit where misusing words and changing definitions is allowed. (now this, is a strawman).

I'm sure they don't
if it bothers you so much why not read another thread then you absolute lunatic
Why do my comments bother you so much that you feel the need to reply?
See how that works, wanna hangout on pleddit and makeout or something?
sure why not

Loving demakes is a litmus test for moronic consoomers.
Even your attempted meme is autistic.
WojakBlack person not understanding why people hate demakes or why they are bad isnt only surprising but expected.

Sad!
Yes, I would much rather play bastardized versions of old games instead of the majority of shitty new games that are designed around selling DLC.
Some of the designs in DeS old and new, look way too anime, clashes with the rest of the game.
I played both and enjoyed both
cope and seethe
Rajmake slopslurpers will defend this

have a nice day animal-man.
No it doesn't, and you will never change my mind.
Stay mad, though.

Right looks like my grandad with Alzheimer’s
frick off
I've played both, and they're basically the same game.
In other words: the second worst Souls game.
*best (not the SHITmake)
