As incredibly lame as FEAR 2 was I liked some of the new "he's too fast" lines. Particularly the armacham guys who just give an exasperated "what the frick" when you go speedy. Something about the tone of voice is so funny to me
Completely agree, the game is still incredible, but I would love to see FEAR make a comeback, preferably as the originally intended "x files with guns/monster of the week" anthology series. If that takes a Dead Space-esque remake to get people to care about it again and lead to new FEAR titles, I can accept that monkey's paw, because I can just not play it.
Of course this is just wishful thinking. I know WB would frick it up if it ever were to happen.
I would definitely prefer that, but it seems like these companies aren't willing to bother with the risk. They like doing a safer remake of something established first, then seeing if enough consumers are excited about the IP before greenlighting anything new and interesting. But like I said, this is just me being overly optimistic, because we know how shit WB is as a publisher

It's fine to say "it'd be better with modern graphics" but so much about FEARS atmosphere comes from its bleak appearance and more importantly the lighting, and I do not trust modern developers to get that right.
