In resident evil 4, the laser sight disappears after shooting in order to avoid spamming the gun like a moron. But if you're good enough, you can predict where the gun is and have accurate shots.
In REmake 2, they removed all skills and instead the added that shitty crosshair, making the game beyond boring.

Somehow you got sadder than before. Congratulations, you're far less boring than REmake 2.
incorrect
obviously not better than 2, but it was a damn good REgame

In REmake 2, they removed all skills and instead the added that shitty crosshair, making the game beyond boring.
you're completely skipping over how the damage and ttk is the true bit of balancing making using ammo more of a risk and keeping it more in line with the old tankcontrol survival horrors where it's much better to ignore and avoid enemies
While I'm not going to say 4 lacks any sort of skill because 2 and 4 are THE replay a hundred times until you master therm games, but spamming shots has never been effective or even worth punishing. Everyone and their mom figures out that gathering a few enemies together, hitting one in the head and then whisper kicking the group to the ground before giving them a good knifing is the most efficient method of dispatching goons. 4 compensates against this routine later on by adding Plaga-heads
>Gambling mechanics to cover up shitty level design it's good design because it provides balance
WOAH, I guess making better level design and mechanics would've avoided making such boring decisions in order to """"""balance" something that was boring since conception.
it was better than any other RE game since REmake. Maybe it's not as good as the original but I'm starved for a good polished true survival horror games

They're not bullet sponges, they added this kind of gambling mechanics where zombies can get killed fast or with 12 shots - I literally count them -, which is the most laughable artificial difficulty setting I've seen.
Nu-crapcom didn't understand what made adaptatively difficulty great in previous RE games.

it's an ammo sink mechanic
the better alternative would be to increase zombie spawns in larger areas
>the better alternative would be to increase zombie spawns in larger areas
Probably but that'll turn the game into a TPS, REmake 2 had it all to become a great survival horror but nu-crapcom cucked itself and decided to appeal normies with their shitty mechanics.
remake 3 is the worst for this shit >blast zombie to the ground >start hacking away with the knife >it gets back up >blast it down again >start hacking with the knife >it gets back up >land a critical headshot and it finally dies for good
god almighty
You're literally not playing the game correctly if you think this is a problem. If you can't ignore a zombie in your path you should only be doing one shot kills on them with either the shotgun for leon or the grenade launcher for claire (switching to the magnum later). You will have an insane amount of extra ammo left over for all your other guns.
It's a survival horror game. Keyword survival. Survival games are usually about properly pooling your resources and knowing when to engage enemies, and when to just run and keep them in reserve.
The game makes zombies take more bullets to kill the more ammo you have. Bosses and enemies hit harder the more healing items you have. I've tested it on hard mode for instance. Absolutely stuffed to ammo to the gills, zombies took as many 12 shots to finally stay down. Then I would waste ammo and literally only have 10 rounds. Zombies suddenly only started requiring 3 rounds, sometimes a 1 shot crit. It works on bosses too. When I went against one of the Nemesis boss fights with 15 shotgun shells and 18 grenades, it took literally EVERYTHING go put him down. I was down to my pistol and that was with only maybe 3 missed shots. In a different play through I was down bad and only had around 6 grenades and 9 shotgun shells. Managed to end the fight with 2 shotgun shells to spare. What makes a good player in these survival horror games is how well they manage their resources and these games through it out the fricking window in the name of "balance".
You sound like a whiny b***h. Did you have fun? Was the game tense and rewarding? Then shut the frick up and enjoy yourself homosexual.

Resident Evil 4 at least had the ability to melee shit out of the way. If an enemy was taking too long to die, you could just shoot a weak point for the stagger and then kick it out of the way. >didn't wait for the crosshair to snap
of course I did. Many enemies it doesn't matter.
>game makes zombies take more bullets to kill the more ammo you have
Then dont shoot them. The game isnt about killing every zombie you see. Go play Dead Rising or even Dead Island if you don't like it. >Bosses and enemies hit harder the more healing items you have
Then dodge. >zombies took as many 12 shots to finally stay down
Why are you shooting them then? >took literally EVERYTHING go put him down
Not the game's fault you didn't get get the magnum.

at that point, just turn off the game. Some enemies have to be put down if the area is going to involve heavy traffic by you. That or to give yourself a clear/clean line of retreat. The fact that your argument is "just don't do that then lmao" explains how this sort of game to be. You're the lowest common denominator they're catering to.

For use later yes. But what's the point of saving all the ammo if it's just going to take me 3x the amount to put something down? I stopped bothering to pool ammo and honestly I found it more effective to run and gun literally everything and always be low on ammo. Just the most efficient way to play

did you play on normal or hardcore?

normal my first time through, hardcore for the rest. Hardcore is such a fine line to walk because of how little ammo is offered, but there are instances where you're going to HAVE to take out a few enemies. Sometimes with urgency and not knowing if the difficulty scaling is going to frick you sucks.

There isn't. Normal scales up to Hardocre if you're good enough. That's literally it.

hardcore just slams the dynamic difficulty to max. It's why I started REmake 3 on hardcore as opposed to a run through on normal. I don't care about the dynamic difficulty, I just think it could have been implemented differently. Change/remove spawn locations of healing items or ammo if the player is doing crazy good. Maybe even spawn more enemies/different enemies in certain areas.
or you could just put it into storage for later use. simple as that.
If I'm not mistaken, I think the game counts what you have in your storage as well. It's an overall tally thing. The game basically looks at what you have at your disposal in totality.

I'll say one thing for that remaster, it's the first time I can recall one of the modern isometric throwbacks actually capturing that 90s isometric psuedo 3d look, usually they don't come close.
This shit pissed me off when I heard it. Activision/Blizzard once again fricking things up. They could have just waited until VV was done with the D2 remaster.
The person tying about re2 not only played the game wrong but also is exaggerating to a staggering degree. Why gaslight a game everyone's already played? Straight up schizo
The game was great, but majorly unfaithful to the original in nearly every respect: The music that plays all of once for 20 seconds and stops, in the two most notable places, to boot, the main hall and the save rooms,
the character designs looking so greasy and in Claire's case, Gollum-y, just like everything made in that engine,
removing the side B unique factors and instead just streamline them with slightly different puzzles and the final William fight, where as in Leon A, Leon meets and befriends Sherry as well as Ada, and Claire meets Ada, as well as Sherry. Annette has like 4 different fates depending of it you're playing Leon/Claire/A/B, but that's lost in the remake. (For understandable reasons, since the game is already enormous and they'd nee to program twice as many scenes)
Those fricking headshots and some of the liberties they took with it are fantastic, though. They did the gore and horror really well, but Mr. X does create a bit of dread for too long on your first few playthroughs.
playing through pic related right now and its fricking sick. It honors Half-Life 1 in such a awesome way and makes the game's horror elements more apparent. Excited for Operation Black Mesa whenever it comes out
This one was great. The hand hand-drawn artstyle and the music are absolutely fantastic. But the developers are so confident in the new style, you can switch to the old one whenever you want and even switch the new sounds and new graphics independently of each other. I wish more remakes had on-the fly graphics changing though it's likely a huge pain in the ass to implement.

This remake was fricking amazing. They then went on to make Diablo 2 Remastered which was also great(despite some issues).
Unfortunately now Blizzard fully absorbed that developer studio and they will never be doing any good remakes again.
Denuvo ruined this piece of shit. I would have pirated it and maybe gave them a few sheckels, but they had to be israelites about it
