The main one is F-VAkiha pit loops, that's just one of many things that's broken about the character but because melty has really aggressive scaling it eventually starts doing 1 damage per hit and you build them enough meter to burst out so you can't 100-0 without a reset, luckily she has no lack of ways to reset you
The other one is C-Satsuki OTG command grab loops. Her EX anti air grab resets OTG limits, it costs 100 meter but if she does an extremely hard, very precise OTG string she can build 100 meter again in the combo. Again the scaling makes it do 1 damage per hit pretty quickly, and Melty characters have 10K+ health so it effectively stops doing damage, but because of the rules about grabs and burst you can't actually burst this one and with perfect execution you could theoretically hit someone at round start and them combo them until the round ends, just like in HNK. Thankfully it takes multiple true 1frame links per rep once it's fully hitstun scaled and the number of people that can do it more than a couple times in a row can be counted on one hand and all live in japan so you will never see it in the wild.

I don't rematch bad connections, but that's usually only an issue in the hub, and if I've gotten a promo off a match and decide to stop there. Otherwise, I usually try to FT5 if it is a close set or a much better player, but I sometimes FT3 if I'm absolutely stomping my opponent.

I don't really understand the combos in this game. Neutral moves don't seem to link or buffer and doesn't like it if you do them too fast, so I accidentally input supers when the moves don't come out the first time I input them. I'm trying to look for BnB LP/MP/HP/LK/MK/HK strings, but there seems to be just few and they're not actual strings, since they replace the buttons with unique moves, causing the characters to do something unexpected from the button that is being pressed.
learn this game dont play it with expectations of what you think should happen when you press buttons. its fricking me up too but its timing. press the correct buttons. i input a move deliberately and slow as frick but somehow in gods green earth a double QCF comes out because i stood up from a crouch jab and pressed QCF.
what youre looking for is "links" and when theyre not real strings theyre memed on as "fake" because it looks stupid jank if it works. SF6 seems to lean slightly heavier into shorter "target combos" and DR extensions if im understanding it right. if you want to find out whats bufferable and linkable its actually easier in SF6 because of the frickloads of settings and onscreen info weve got in practice mode now. Kens cr.MK shenanigans are a prime example of how SF6 says "frick off, play MY game, not SF3"

Rank was very meaningful in SFV early. The good players were in platinum fast, the common dregs were like silver to gold. then they moved to master. I made it to 2500 in platinum in SFV and that was march 2016, so less than a month after launch. for comparisons sake current master in SF6 is about top 8000 I think. it took a lot of time until the ranks inflated to that point. in 6 a frickload of the common dregs are past that already and master will fill up very soon.
i suppose but thats why it has always been said that rank doesnt actually mean jack shit in both ways. whether you earned it legitimately and the fact its not a measure of skill. if youre up there in Master your main mission should be dunking on your opponent and then laughing at them for thinking they deserve to be in Master if they play like a day 1 Manon
With the 20% damage reduction and sub-optimal combos I don't really see the point in playing with Modern controls unless you're playing Gief or Lilly. I just played a few sets with Luke using Modern and I performed overall worse than using classic controls and I don't even use most of his moves on classic. I get why Modern is useful for Gief and Lilly since you get instant SPDs but for the rest of the cast I think its overrated.
It's best usage is instant DPs/Supers.
Sorry I don't see it. DPs and most supers are nowhere near as difficult on classic controls as SPDs. People are acting like Modern gives you instant charge moves like in SFIV on the 3DS but you're no better off than someone using a hitbox to do those motions.

First off I feel my opponents tilting as soon as they see the [M] in the versus screen and start doing angry faces.
But with modern I can do the most optional combos more easily as I can do standing M pressing auto H. That's the biggest advantage. I almost never use auto specials because it's not really worth.
I have no problem with this as long as you don't delude yourself into thinking your winning is indicative of too much. A lot of guys at the higher levels will just throw for data for the second and third matches.

Modern JP, Lilly and Gief stand out as something people should very much consider. One button command grab is very scary, and one button JP level 3 and parry is even scarier. Every other character on modern is outclassed by Classic.

All you need to know about modern is that it gives you SPDs and DPs in exchange for an overall damage debuff and some missing normal moves. Modern Gief and Lilly are real, on par for the shotos and JP, and for the rest of the cast Modern is fake as hell if you've ever played street fighter before.

Not overall, only for specials. Normals do the same damage. Also you can still do inputs for specials if you want and they do normal damage, so basically the only downside to modern is losing a few normals.
Going from 6 to 4 buttons still limits some of the things you can do with specials. Outside of a few characters you're basically gimping yourself and reducing your special damage for not much in return.
Really though, Modern physically condenses the buttons for Normals to 3, but ultimately you end up with an 7 button system with three of those buttons becoming more complex, contextual - you have a "Shift key" to alternate between two sets of LMH buttons, plus the SP button which has some shit exclusive to it, plus the need to have dedicated Parry and Impact buttons since you can no longer MPMK and HPHK. And unless you got fat thumbs, pressing M+H can be troublesome so that remaining shoulder button may as well be that for you to do ODs and Lariat.
I wish there was a [G]enesis Controls where I have three buttons set to Punch, and holding a "G" button/key shifts them to Kick.
That's how I had to play SFII back in the day with a 3 button controller, tapping Start constantly to swap Punch/Kick.

my nikro i never once got into TK inputs even when i played old sagat, played Sagat all the way through Alpha 3, CVS2, IV and V and whenever i played Gief my special ass muscle memoried 270s instead and its been "working" so far but i might have to just bite the bullet and imbibe TK juice, along with relearning negative edge, kara and buffering EVERY jump just incase it so happens someone ends up in the air with me.

Ranked matches are, as the name suggests, ranked and are first to 2 wins. Battle hub matches have no matchmaking are can be played infinitely provided no one else is queued up
