3.6k triangles is still extremely bad for such an object. It should have at most 1/10 of that.

here is ue4 shitting out 25 million triangles in editor, compiled it would be at least 2x faster
and in UE5 this would run even better due to Nanite so it's never rendering all of a mesh at its full detail, only what you need to see that frame

by itself no, but it's a bad practice which does become a problem if it pervades the entire project. and given this game was developed by bethesda and barely paid pajeets, you can be sure it does
I love how all of this is a non-problem if you use Unreal Engine 5, because you just turn these busy meshes into nanite, and the engine does the heavy lifting of adapting the level of detail according to how close you're looking at it.
Once again, Bethesda's problems are using a literal 90s game engine. A fricking 30 years old engine. It's like getting a Ford scort 1999 and fitting a turbo in it, riceing it like you're playing NFS underground, some fancy lights, whatever, and pretending it's better than any half decent toyota released last year.
Every UE5 game I've played, and MANY UE4 ones, are pudgy blurry messes.

Most of the times it gets converted to tris in the end, using quads is for convenience really.
Zbrush has better up/downscaling "1 click tools". I think he's coming from the developers mentality where they don't actually make the model and just download an asset and edit it with tools that do the work for them.
Why would anyone make a beveled cube in ZBrush? You don't sculpt things with simple geometric shapes.
