Remember when people were upset they were getting rid of the old Dreads? This is why; the last 2 Dread releases have either been monopose or had no extra building options.

This company is starting to really go downhill.

Soon they will be just one piece that will be impossible to really kitbash etc

    Just j*w tactics really.

    That's why everything in mono-pose

They go with monopose because it lets them make cooler dynamic poses that make for more alluring marketing

Like all the ones with flowing cloaks and tabards that have to be modelled on to the rest of the body to look good

The Ballistus is the way it is because it was made for an edition-launch box-set. The other Primaris dreads have poseability.

            >The Ballistus is the way it is because it was made for an edition-launch box-set.

That’s the problem. Without war gear in the game they don’t need to add more options in the box. They can sell only 1 model and call it a day.

NTG but he's saying it's monobuild because it's a starter box model, just like how the helbrute from dark vengeance was monobuild, even though 7th edition had wargear options.

Yep. They’ve been going this way ever since the golden age of bits and posing that was 5th ed. but /tg/ is pro consumerism and you have proud brand shills now, because people need to tie their identity to brands they consume, so there will be a lot of defense of this shit.

      >implying the classic plastic dread didn't have a molded rock base

        Anonymous

It came with a moulded base, the basing was not part of the model. The foot of the Balistus is the same piece as the tactical rock (with no extra 3rd foot included) and the hips of the dread are pivoted to fix it in that pose, compared to the old plastic Dread' which had a completely neutral pose and feet, which could just as readily but stuck to a plain base (since the rocky base was designed to be flat across the top anyway)

That + the base (w/ holes for pegs on the feet) are all the plastic in the kit, yeah.
            That'll be £42.50. Plus tip :^)

Not him but the contemptor has full posability with a double jointed waist and fully flexible limbs and I’ve seen some very dynamic poses with them. The 30k equivalent to the ballistus, the deredeo, is also a better kit even though its monopose because it has options between stationary or moving

The new Guard tank doesn't have a bottom. The new Solar Auxilia stuff has internal modeling. The HH stuff is just way better.

They probably won't, seeing as how they have decided to have AoS and 40k as their accessible brands, and TOW and HH to serve veteran players. It's a sensible strategy, tbh.

So this is the same one I can buy off eBay but for less money? Why is GW being moronic, they’re just making me want to start 3D printing for custom poses and bits. I wash originally going to wait and buy the box of new Infernus marines but then I saw they were the same poses from leviathan and snap together. No thanks.

The exact same one on eBay you can get for like $20-$30 dollars yes. 100% the exact same sprues.
