Not really, no. Ever since Brawl we’ve had moronic fans ask for Lyn or Bandana Dee or Ashley. The official Brawl forums used to be a fricking cesspool, which is why they got shut down.
Bandana Dee was popular after RtDL but he was actually mentioned in tbe Brawl days due to the japanese meme of Arena Waddle Dee being the hardest boss of all time

In a poll directed at fire emblem fans, Lyn was actually found to be far and away the single most popular fire emblem character. More than literally every fire emblem character in smash bros right now.

In all fairness, Lyn's popularity even caught nintendo off guard. There was a minor incident with the aforementioned poll, as it related to the fire emblem gacha game. Originally, the poll stated that the most popular male and female would each get a special version in the game, but upon the results of the poll, with Lyn in first, and Lucina in second, they mysteriously changed the conditions of the poll to be that the top 2 of male and female would get a special version in the game.
We don't have any kind of official confirmation on the subject, but given the circumstances, most people assume that they changed it because they expected Lucina to come in first, and probably already had the assets made, so when she came in second, they changed it to just being the first and second instead.
Regardless, here are some other amusing popularity statistics from the various choose your legends polls over the years. The other characters you mentioned, Hector and Ephraim, came in first and second respectively in the second choose your legend poll, making them more popular than Chrom, who only managed to place in the top 2 with the 6th choose your legend poll, and Marth who only managed to place in the top 2 with the 5th poll. Corrin (specifically the female version) only managed to place in the 7th poll.
So the end result is that Fire Emblem's representation in smash bros tends to be... not really what the fans of fire emblem actually want. If FE fans seem annoying because how can we ask for more when we already have so much, it is because we didn't fricking ask for the vast majority of these characters either.
I get that, is the same with Pokemon, plenty of pokemon have a proven Legacy but they always just add a random new shitter than no one knew about 2 years ago anyways

If this was the Heroes vote, she was on a female only side of the poll, meaning she wasn't competing directly with male Lords for votes. So the only real win was over Lucina.
She also still got less votes than Ike, who was competing directly with the other male Lords.

I played it on the WiiU, and Nintendo seems to have just ported that to the Switch and added some more tracks and... babies? The characters don't really seem to matter at all except for aesthetic and the bar seems pretty low on a sequel.

HAL gets to develop Kirby, but if there were ever a legal dispute over the franchise's ownership, it would likely be determined as a first party Nintendo IP.
