i play casual mode for fun, more players, and i can quit/joining matches anytime i want. No hard feelings over each map or people griefing either

The problem right now is why the frick didn't they just do a nearly year long beta before officially releasing it? CS:GO had a frickton of content not related to cosmetics that needed to be tested. An entire summer is nowhere near enough time for a beta.

Because Valve jumped the gun last year and promised the next CS invitational would be on Source 2. Then there was problems in development and things got delayed and they took way too long getting the beta ready and now they had to rush it out the door to maximize their testing via millions of players to make sure Pro teams can get enough practice and the gnine can be as bug free as possible as to be fully ready for the next invitational.

Keep in mind a lot of Steam metrics don't even mean as much as they used to imho. As in their storefront community is awful and spiteful. To the point where Steam had to even change rules with leaving reviews, which is why starfield has as high as a rating as it does currently.

scoutsman was mostly dead sure, but other casual modes were played. retakes and arms race was quite popular for sure.

Although it appears that valve have completely removed map-specific factions, my theory is that Valve are intending of remaking the models for the factions that DIDN'T get remade in GO, because only the SAS, Phoenix, Leet, and FBI models got remade late into the game's lifespan, and are the only factions with agent recolours, every other faction got unique models.
So eventually, factions like the GIGN, Balkans, GSG9, Pirates, ST6, IDF, Professionals, Anarchist, Separatists, and SWAT will all get their default models remade to match the quality of the modern ones and will be re-added.
But this is wishful thinking ofc, knowing this is modern day valve we're talking it's likely just a ploy to suck more money from players.
they won't, they already redid the professionals, SEALs, guerillas, and they were agent skins with an operation.

They still won't do that. They did it for FBI, SAS and leet crew but they stopped because they realised instead of doing for free they can get people to pay for them. Like I said some of those factions have already been updated and put behind an operation and paywall. Any subsequent factions new or old will be the same. Default will remain as SAS and Phoenix.

The separatists have the funniest voice lines but valve would never add them back. They look way too similar to a real terrorist group. in fact all the original t factions used to be based on real terror groups.
