Replayability is a meme.

Replayability is a meme.
Real people only play a game once and move on, therefore it does not matter how "replayable" your game is and complaining that a game lacks replayability has no baring on the quality of the game.

I've still never played Minecraft and don't even really understand the premise.

I don't understand nucraft, but back in 2011 or so it felt magical just getting lost in the world, finding a random cave network, with potential creepers or zombies lurking around the corner, all for the chance to find some diamonds
I feel that feeling has faded once they added in so many new things that make it feel more like a pixelated version of skyrim

Also, to iterate on OP. If a game is good enough, it doesn't even necessarily need features which make it more replayable. Sure, for some games which are very long, it might take several years until you want to play again. But what really matters is quality.

    >Replayability is a meme.
    >Real people only play a game once and move on
meanwhile in reality multiplayer games sells like hotcakes because of the possible infinite replayability on the same maps due to the human factor

No, multilayer games "sell" simply because

      1. They are backed by advertising campaigns by their moneyed studio owner
      2. They are what is presented to causals in all venues/platforms above all else
      3. They are multilayer so you can plat with friends
      4. They are part of the new live service bloodsucking, so competitors colude in order to keep the market favorable for all of them. (Most multilayer games or IPs they can get their hands on converted to this format).

      That's the real reason.

        >no actually people just don't have fun
multiplayer games have always been popular, long before corporatism and greed were involved in gaming. you are both a homosexual and a tourist and you should and will likely have a nice day

like people who play and have fun with multiplayer games because i think they're stupid and have shit tast

I've only replayed a few games.
I've replayed Final Fantasy 3 (Japanese 6) more than once. I've also replayed Chrono Trigger and Dragon's Dogma and Skyrim. Skyrim doesn't count as much because I mod it every time I play it but I replayed it a bunch with different mods. Then there are games that get big updates and I might replay them. Especially if I first played them in early access and then I might replay it when it gets a full release.

When you play Morrowind as a 16 year old you see it from a different perspective then when you play Mortowind at 36.

i reaplay a game over and over until im sick of it because i want to enjoy everything it has to offer instead of just mindlessly consuming product and then moving to next product. and then like two months later i get an urge to replay it.

that being said saying a game is bad because it doesnt have replayability is fricking moronic

It's not that it doesn't matter, it's simply that it is an added bonus. Your game is enjoyable once? Cool. Your game is enjoyable for multiple playthroughs? Even better.
