Replaying the first RF for the first time in about 20 years. This still holds up, but it's a shame the Deformation tech is only really used a few times, and most of those in the first couple of levels to show it off.
I remember trying Red faction 2 years ago and finding it pretty poor, are Armageddon and Guerilla any good?

guerilla was alright. pretty repetitive though.
armagedon i don't remember being very good
It's better than Half Life
That's an incredibly bold statement, but i'm curious as to why you think so.
driving the submarines and the flying thingamajigs was fun
Boomer shit that sucks, play good games instead of that garbage
>nudoom
filtered
zoomer shit taste tierlist
terrible bait
did you just place these games randomly on your image?
>nudoom
lmao
awful bait. no one respond after me
RF is a decent game. Tron 2.0 is another good game too.
TRON 2? More like TROON TOO!
the fact you've invested so much effort in something this genuinely tasteless and thought it'd be valuable to share is tragicomic
otherwise if you were trolling good job
>Rage 2
>good
and that's just the tip of the iceberg, give it year or two those flavor of the month indie games will be forgotten
What is it with the 2nd game in multi game franchises being so bad?
It was so bad.
i rented it and gave up playing it cause it just wasnt good.
It did have a sick grenade that would reverse all controls on multiplayer though.
Guerilla is pretty good but kinda open-world slop
Armageddon was kinda shit but at least it's short (Might want an FOV mod btw)
One of my first PS2 games, felt genuinely next gen.
It's still pretty unique. The deformation in multiplayer was a hoot.
>leftist propaganda game
Does it "just work" on modern systems or do you need patches etc?
it works but you need a small fix for higher resolutions
The zombies were kinda cool and different
And this prostitute who kept sexualizing
everything and not putting out. Even when I was a kid I was annoyed by her. c**t.
I was pleased by how diverse the game was, wasn't expecting that infiltration level in the offices of the higher-ups, or the "bathysphere" levels underwater. It's so advanced for its time.
The sub levels were always fun.
>cd action
I had my RF1 from their DVD. I can't find it anymore and I want to replay it
Soundtrack was great
Like all stuff by Dan Wentz for Volition
Remember when Volition was good game studio?
I replayed it recently myself and was amazed by how long it seemed to be. Either that on the PS2 version had whole areas missing.
Frick I'm playing the PS2 version, what's missing? Nothing really big?
Honestly it's probably the same, just the 20 year or so gap between playthroughs playing with my memory.
REEEEEED Faction!
The forced stealth section kills the game for me, wanting me to never play it again. The tech was nice for its time.
The sequel is a piece of shit. Armageddon was alright. However Guerrilla was the most enjoyable game of the series albeit sometimes repetitive, the shit you destroy in the semi-open world stays destroyed. So there's an odd satisfaction tearing down everything you see.
I found unless you play it on hard, the best way to do the stealth section was just to go loud immediately.
There was a nice mod on pc to get a gun that repairs everything so you can destroy it again. I wonder if there's something like that in the remake.
The more you play and destroy everything the more sad the open world gets. I wish things got repaired over time instead of just staying the way they are.
Red Faction didn't deserve to die like it did, the destruction feature in Guerrilla was so advanced, only Teardown can compete.
I wish they'd make a new one, perhaps with a decent story this time.
I think the trouble is that every game felt like a different take. Shooter, Squad shooter, Semi open world tps, then a linear tps.
I'd love the first game to get the Dead Space Remake treatment,
I fear they'd have to make a whole new engine to handle the destruction, new graphics and animations.
I'd love a new game like Guerrilla, imagine how cool the multiplayer would be, better than The Finals.
Is teardown worth buying for 30 bucks? I really need my destruction fix
It's got some nice destruction and physics and various maps to enjoy, missions aren't really that interesting to me except for the destruction based ones.
But I'd wait for the spring sales to spend less money.
I fricking LOVE Red Faction, it has one of my favorite guns in any video game, pic related. I can't believe it died such a shitty, unfortunate death thanks to the fricking SyFy channel of all things. Guerilla was SO goddamn fun, both the campaign and multiplayer. I played so much online even though I sucked and kept getting hammered in the face by euros since I got into it so late. Armageddon was fricking trash, and then the IP promptly went to the grave, never to be seen again - such a tragedy, games have not really improved in terms of destructible environments since
