Replaying this for the first time in years, and sorry, but it actually is the best soulsbornering game. Art direction, fast as frick aggression rewarding combat, trick weapons, setting, map design, atmosphere, armours, weapons, literally everything.

Even the blood vial problem becomes a non-issue, because it takes like 15 minutes respawning at the Great Bridge to farm massive amounts of vials.

    The game is shit.

Yeah, that sucks, but preowned ps4's are cheap as dirt which is the only reason I'm replaying it.

also, get this, you need PSN+ to even see messages on the ground from other players. something I took for granted playing the entire series on PC besides DeS.

Consoles are cancer, but it doesn't change the fact that this is their best game in that line.

You thought Bloodborne being trapped on the PS4 was bad? Try Wipeout Omega VR.

I think some of the main game bosses are too easy, but then again every souls game kind of has that problem

agree. the somewhat 23ish fps and constant fever dream blur all over the place are just iconic. and the vial farming is absolutely kinorino!

      this but uniornically

      >the somewhat 23ish fps
is it actually that low? because it feels mostly 30 to me, not exactly ideal but whatever. it needs a PC port or official pro/ps5 patch, but that's never going to happen.

still the best souls game regardless of the performance.

        >best souls game
I think so too, but the fact that it's essentially stuck in limbo due to Sony's moronation hurts it's reputation. I don't even know what I'll do once my PS4 eventually dies and I can't bust it out for the yearly playthrough

We don't think of things like that. If PS1s are still mostly running in 2024, surely our PS4's will be okay in 2034 right?

if bloodborne gets lost to time due to being stuck on a console I am going to be furious though, considering they remaster and port garbage like GOW, TLOU and fricking Horizon. Fromsoftware basically created console sellers for Sony, Demons Souls and Bloodborne, but Sony is moronic.

Sony would make a killing if they marketed and ported BB for PC. but no, no one wants that right? they want spiderman, and lesbian drama shooters.

Yeah I'm playing it too and it's so damn cool! Also the DLC is on sale right now if you've never played it. I'm going with a Kirkhammer build & I also ran in & got the gatling gun early.

With the low price of something like a thousand bucks you can now play Bloodborne at 120fps. Old firmware PS5's are compatible with a fanmade patch that makes 99% of the game functional at 120fps.

Today I will remind them not to farm vials but to farms echoes to use to buy vials at the Hunter's Dream. When you unlock the end of the Nightmare of Mensis, just run through that section with the patrolling pigs. I call it 'Pig Alley'. Run through it once and you'll have enough for a shit ton of vials

Thanks anon this will come in handy, I have 2 trophies left. 1 more ending and some Queen boss which I think I have to slog through chalice dungeons to fight FML

      >bro just go to the end of the game instead

There are alternatives earlier on, but the main takeaway was to focus on areas that allow you to blitz through in a couple of minutes and have enough for vials rather than farm the vials themselves. I also wanted to talk about Pig Alley, because I love it. Another thing I found useful in this regard is to spend whatever echoes you have left over after levelling and upgrading on vials. You will probably lose those few hundred echoes if you are making boss runs anyway but you can kinda bank them as vials instead

    >map design
Its map design is barely any better than Dark Souls 3's though. It's very linear aside from a couple distractions, and the second half is a warpfest.

You're not wrong, but I don't think Bloodborne is as negatively affected by this as Dark Souls 3. The combat is so much more entertaining on it's own with deep movesets and meaningful weapon differences. And its a shorter game anyway. Dark Souls 3 is just roll, r1, and previous game references.

Bloodborne dared mix the tombstone/area local shit like DeS with the metroidvania-like maps of DaS. fricking kneel.

I played it for the first time this year. I enjoyed it but I was underwhelmed. I think they blew their load too early with Central Yharnam. None of the later areas were nearly that impressive and the visuals get kind of stale by the end of the game. I like Dark Souls much better.

Care to elaborate? what zones in particular did you think looked bad? in DAS when you get to anor londo you're ion awe, bloodborne has like 90% of that in a victorian setting.

      I'm confused.

I don't think any of the areas look bad just that there's not much variation. Most areas have a similar vibe. Dark Souls and even Demon's Souls have a lot more variety

wtf is wrong with you people. just buy them. stop overleveling your character and spend your blood echoes on vials. it's really not that complicated. this has never once been an issue.

Game starts off as a 11/10 but then just keeps getting worse in quality as you progress. Many of the areas are dogshit, and don't get me started on the chalice dungeons.

At the end of the day it suffers from the same.problem that all souls games have. It's punishing nature is just annoying more than hard. Even at 30 vit basic enemies will deal half you health bar in a single attack so if you get distracted you get to be bored by repeating the same shit again.

Yes. It's their best souls game by a pretty significant margin.
