because RE1 remake came out in 2002 and the majority of modern RE audience aren't interested in fixed camera angles because they're Black folk? Use your head, anon, of course a remake of RE1 makes sense 22+ years after-the-fact
>no, we need to change the game for the moronic zoomer audience
Kys, you dumb gay
REmake is already perfect as is.
They already made changes with subsequent releases with the controls.
>it’s been 20 years
Christ. I guess it does make sense. Kids who weren’t even alive when it came out are drinking age now. Meanwhile my pubes are turning gray
>didn't play it!!!!
the problem is people did play it and hated it. The pacing is awful and has the worst backtracking in the IP's history. Also Steve actually is probably the worst character in the entire franchise no matter what your special snowflake contrarian ass wants to think. It's the game that would benefit the most from massive cuts if they remade it because they'd be gutting most of the trash that made people hate it.
>the problem is people did play it
not many and probably not a lot of the morons reading this. people didn't play it >The pacing is awful and has the worst backtracking in the IP's history
the backtracking was done rather well, pacing was fine > Also Steve actually is probably the worst character in the entire franchise no matter what your special snowflake contrarian ass wants to think.
steve is kino, actually
>got soft locked because they're too stupid
Exactly how is it stupid to not know when the character transitions are coming up, or even that they are coming up?
Are you, Mr I Played With A Guide, really going to sit there and insult the intelligence of those who didn't choose to have their hand held the entire game?
>Exactly how is it stupid to not know when the character transitions are coming up, or even that they are coming up?
You don't need to know anything about them.
Chris' Rockfort section doesn't have any mandatory boss fights and gives the player plenty of ammo and opportunities to get new weapons.
Claire's Antarctica section is transparently a short lived one, if Chris being dropped into a boss fight immediately before it happens didn't tip the player off.
I'm very skeptical about this but it's been a long time since I played
I'm going to try playing again without any weapon sharing, and see if you're correct or full of shit
It's not "without any weapon sharing"- the second Claire section exists primarily to guide the player into giving Chris more supplies (though with how CV's knife works, it is very easy to get by with just the handgun and shotgun if you manage to frick up that badly). Claire's section does the following >it has one (1) real enemy you can fight and they are completely avoidable (the two vines can just be knifed by any smart player) >it has a boss fight designed to waste healing items rather than actually be fought >coincidentally, the game gives you a full heal in the first room of the Claire section
The typical player will play, get to the boss fight, and die. The game essentially tells you that the goal of the boss is to run to the end, and the primary way to do that would be through abusing healing items, encouraging the player to offload equipment into the item box to take heals instead.
This isn't to say CV goes easy on the player though, obviously it doesn't. Even ignoring the western release is locked to the highest difficulty, CV is designed to be the RE fan's RE game, one that actually tests your knowledge of how survival horror works and rewards skillful play.
Anyways, here's every weapon Chris can conceivably get without exchanging with Claire >Glock 17 (can be upgraded) >Shotgun (Rockfort) >Ingram (Requires completing the Rodrigo side quest) >Colt Python (requires leaving the fire extinguisher in the item box) >Linear Launcher (Final Boss killer)
Keep in mind though, Claire's inventory would end up with the following when acquiring every weapon >M93R (+Upgrade) >M-100P >Cross Bow (w/Explosive Rounds) >G. Launcher (w/3 ammo types) >AK47
One of those can become unusable, but everything else continues to get ammo and wouldn't all be in Claire's inventory at once (especially when CV forces Claire to waste two slots on the sniper rifle).

Okay, I get what you're saying. You obviously know the game a lot better than I do. It's still not moronic to get stymied by the second switch back to Chris. By then you've developed a distrust for the game and it's not unreasonable to think you'll be playing her for longer, or that she'll have another section. You can get screwed over by the game expecting you to guess, even if you've played skillfully.
But admittedly, by that point it would be very silly not to keep a backup save just in case.
I still don't think it's a particularly good system though. Even Resident Evil 2 has the decency to tell you that if you take the machine gun/side pack it's not going to be there for the other character.
Code Veronica's system is okay, even kind of fun if you know what's coming up. It's just another interesting wrinkle in the resource management puzzle. But it's kinda dogshit on a first playthrough.
Yeah, nice of them to introduce some new characters for a change and then immediately say "this isn't working, we can still milk these old beloved characters for easy money instead". Shut the frick up you fricking stunted moron. There is only so much you can squeeze out of these characters but mongoloids like you keep going "NO, I WANT MORE OF THE SAME BECAUSE THING I KNOW!". If morons like you were in charge, we would've had 8 games of just Jill and Chris for the whole franchise.
My bad man, didn't know the last RE game with Leon was 8 years ago. >MUH REMAKE
Kys moron, go play with your childhood Legos if you only want constancy.
>mad that the main characters of the franchise are in fact the main characters
The irony to this is that the people who make these kinds of posts resent characters like Jake or think Kamiya's Bio4 was a bad idea for the series.
Why would they not make Ethan's daughter the next protag? She has the perfect setup to be a new main character and interact with the old cast if needed. All the older characters are like 50+ at this point, just let them be fricking happy FFS. Or at least bring Jill back, she hasn't been seen since RE5 right? Or did they mention her somewhere in 6 and I missed it?
it just wouldnt make sense for their character personalities to just 'give up and go live a happy life' while evil organizations are still out there making bio weapons and shit. i would like rose to be included somehow though in future games
>All the older characters are like 50+ at this point
They're too obsessed with setting them in the modern day now
It's not like they're doing anything interesting with the characters getting older, they're never going to really 'age' or resolve any character arcs
it's just constantly bringing them back for more status quo shit like an endless soap opera
They should have just kept setting the games a couple of years apart, or passed the torch to new characters
>Leon and Jill Valentine in a game to get closure.
I get Leon since he's one of two characters with an actual ongoing narrative, but what fricking closure does Jill need?
I've never gotten this obsession with Jill that people have, she doesn't have a real character. Her personality and actions aren't dictated by some overarching narrative that informs us of her character, she changed on a dime, going from needing constant help in 1, to being a hyper badass that slaps Carlos in 3, to dopey eyed "I don't want to be here" meth-head in the remake- the most in character she's ever been was in 5 where Wesker rapes her into having a new personality, because that's all she's ever fricking been.
There's nothing about her to wrap up.
I’m so tired of RE. I hope we get another Gamecube-era situation where people get tired of getting the same game again and again, but I fear the audience is too massified and normified for that. I don’t want more fricking TPS sluggish remakes. I don’t want more fricking FPS with nobody protagonists who swear to every single monster that appear. I want a change of air.
New/old doesn’t matter. I like Leon as much as the next person but we just had 2r and 4r. I’m not complaining about him per se, but resident evil has tons of interesting characters being ignored for the “safe” choice.
RE only has 5 true main characters. >Chris
One of two with an actual ongoing narrative, which is why I doubt this leak about Leon since Capcom left in a fricking cliffhanger at the end of Village involving Chris. >Jill
She exists purely to bait people at this point and hasn't been a real character in 20 years. >Leon
The other character with an ongoing narrative, though it's entirely tied to Ada. >Claire
Her story has been finished since 2000.
over -the - shoulder is as outdated as fixed cameras, why do zoomers dislike the latter so much? genuinely asking there has been at least 500+ games with this perspective since of RE4, gtfo with that slop camera already
Are we reaching levels of moronic contrarianism with a dose of old good new bad that we are actively praising CV now? A game that was poorly received then and is still one of the low points of the series?

I really hate how capcom characters are in constant character development limbo. Characters that are now 50+ are still acting like they're 20. This isnt even exclusive to re games, its pretty much the same with all their titles. They tried developing phoenix wright in his games, but morons screeched about it and we immediately went back to status quo
Exactly. There's are no character arcs. There's no sense of time. They're just writing the characters from a perspective of 'here's what happens next' and then adding pushing the '+1 year' button 20 times so they can have it set in the current year or thereabouts.
current year anyway? Technology hasn't changed much except for smartphones, and they're worse for horror, not better
It's not necessary to do that at all
And the worst part is, we don't get to have Jill and Claire anymore because it's a lot harder to make 40-50 year old women appealing as protagonists than men

Honestly no not even close
CV is genuinely my least favorite RE game it's not bad just worse than the others
But I do admittedly love the story especially the Wesker scenes
Leon got all the best games in the series and his campaign was the only enjoyable one in RE6. Leonchads have never lost.
someone translate this gibberish please
Man, they really really don't want to touch the shit pile that is Code Veronica, huh?
maybe one day. just because theyre not making it right now doesnt mean they never will
they're going to remake 1, then CE and finally 5, giving us a remade Wesker trilogy
then CV*
Why a remake for a game that already got a fricking remake?

he literally can't get any lower
Doubtful
Re2 and 4make Leon was well done. And even depressed pill popping alchy Leon was done well in 6
>depressed pill popping alchy Leon
what. i remember him being a very normal dude still working for the president in 6
Depresssed alcoholic and pill popper Leon was in the movies, particularly the Vendetta one.
videogames are haram brother
Capcom milking every classic RE character until they die of old age.
theyre the main characters of the story. do you not like them or something?
They literally just made a decade's (8 years*) worth of mainline games where you played as a new character, what a moronic take
Yeah, nice of them to introduce some new characters for a change and then immediately say "this isn't working, we can still milk these old beloved characters for easy money instead". Nothing wrong with Jake. Give him a few years after 6 to grow up a bit and he’d make a fine main.
Capcom always wins
How come re6 wasn't racist like shadows? You're murdering chinks as a white manb

Shadow of rose was made to fail. They want to end eveything to do with the winters. Clean slate moving forward after tying up the winters loose ends.

mashallah

Never
Capcom wouldn't let that happen
These homies are all aproaching the age of retirement but they are still brought back.
I don't speak Judaism 3.0
can someone give me qrd?
Just give us more Leon & Chris kino moments and forget the b***h in red dress for now, her and Leon's relationship has gotten very stale.
we had a good run Ethan bros. time for the series to go back to shit again.
He will rise to save the franchise again when they finally screw up one more time...We gonna make it Ethanbros
I’m getting sick of Leon. There’s a shit ton of characters in this universe and we get Leon again?

RE1 Remake already has non-tank controls
Remember the rule, all remakes are bad and that includes that game.
Capcom will remake every fricking Resident Evil that doesn't need one before they remake Din Crisis or Code Veronica.
PUBA
Ah yes, the Resident Evil Remake Remake, also known as RERERE
If it has the director and team that made RE4 and RE2 I have complete faith in it.
Remake 2 and 4
both were downgrades from the originals though
Subjective. Objectively better than 5,6,7 and & 8 though. So this means this team is Capcoms best team since the original 4 games.
