I'm guessing you can repair the knife but it's always in your possession. Then again, it's odd that it actually sits in the inventory, so maybe knives are going to be a collectible resource like in RE2r.
Also >items are colored
Did they actually listen to RE Village criticism on this? UI is still soulless, though.
CV knife is beyond broken and REmake2 knife is busted because it's damage is tied to FPS
I did not expect these answers because outside this thread everyone tells me they drop the knife as soon as possible because they think its not worth the inventory space

great so the case is completely useless just like in 8. next yer gonna tell me there's a heal button too? just fricking remove the case if there's no use for it, it's moronic to put that shit in there for nostalgia's sake
Guess we just need to find more knives
Or buy them
Or unlock the infinite durability one after beating the game which would be cheating if you use it

Isn't that RE4?
oh yeah, screwed up the subject
durability is for parries not for melee
This may be a bit off the topic but was the knife ever useful in the older games or was it a waste of inventory space?
Code Veronica X knife was great

This, if you switch to 120FPS you can quickly btfo the first William boss
the knife melts every boss in the game
I seen videos of people beating the original Resident Evil with just the knife. It's more of a challenge thing.
You will probably have to unlock the knife with no durability like in RE2. Or maybe find it later.

>bring back inventory tetris
>half of the crafting materials don't take up inventory space
what's the fricking point
It'll be like 8 where you literally never have to look at your inventory.
How to defeat salazar with only the knife in original re4?
it's literally impossible
i remember doing a knife run and that was one of the few parts I remember having to shoot.
>KNIFE-ONLY BUN BROS
The video shows that the durability can be upgraded and it can be repaired by merchant
So that`s why Leon uses the default M9 bayonet instead of his sleek combat knife...
That will either what you get when the knife is fully upgraded or it'll be a post-game unlockable similar to the infinite knife in RE2R
