>RE4 would be a million times better if it was taken 100% seriously and the entire script was rewritten to be even more cheesy with at least two quips for every non-quip line.

RE4 the way it was led to the growing of Leon's character and also the homosexual lust for this man
Cheesy dialogue is what made RE4 fun and memorable
Kind dear sir, this character is from where? Good day
shit bait. get out.
>defending Marvel tier quips
Shouldn't you homosexuals be out watching the next capeshit movie?
On one hand, the turn to cheesy action nearly killed the franchise.
On the other hand, it contributed to RE4's fun and enjoyment factor.
Personally, I like nu-Leon and the grittier tone they're going with 4. It's something different and more fitting for the franchise, so I'll take it. Apparently it's going to retcon a lot of stuff as well.
>On one hand, the turn to cheesy action nearly killed the franchise.
No this is wrong, homosexual devs that tried to replicate the success of 4 are what nearly killed the franchise.
>No this is wrong, homosexual devs that tried to replicate the success of 4 are what nearly killed the franchise.
And 4 was full of cheesy action. Your point?
>"Resident Evil is supposed to be serious hecking business!"
Where does this historical revisionism come from? Is it larpers or genuine oldgays with nostalgia goggles?
They weren't gritty. but they weren't quipping in every single cutscene either. There was balance between the camp and the horror elements.
Also, RE1 Remake was a pretty gritty reimaging of the original, at least for its time.
Cheesy action is not a problem when done right, The Thing is considered one of the best horror movie of all time and has a lot of cheesy action moments, the first 3 RE have a lot of cheesy action moments, Evil Dead (one of the biggest influence for RE) is the king of cheesy campy horror, Sweet Home and it's videogame adaptation are campy and cheesy and they are RE precursors.
>the success of 4
The success that made Capcom break their agreement with Nintendo because it sold so poorly they had to port it to the PS2
Even after doing that and porting to the wii it STILL sold much less than 2 did on PS1 alone.
It's sales figures are only what they are because it's been ported 15 times.
It's been time for it to die off for a very long time already.
Move aside, it did the damage and now Capcom are looking to rewrite things to remove that damage.
4 is gone.
>On one hand, the turn to cheesy action nearly killed the franchise.
RE was always cheesy you moron.
Or maybe you forgot Jill "The Sandwich Master of Unlocking" Valentine?

Most of us were teens when RE4 came out, so the cheese actually felt badass. Went back and played it as an adult and still loved it, albeit for different reasons.
>the turn to cheesy action
Someone didn't play the original, which was a B movie in video game form as seen with the opening. It might not have been action-packed, but it was very cheesy. The franchise is still cheesy too. What went wrong was the extreme shift to too much action, not the cheese.
>uh...you're a fricking..., wait a second where did I have my catchphrases written down >*ashley rolls eyes* ugh I can't believe I'm stuck with this candyass
>Sadler! You Alzheimer-ridden freak!
RE4 would be a million times better if it was taken 100% seriously and all the cheesy dialogue was removed.
Prove me wrong, you can't.
shit bait. get out.

newbie, the over the shoulder camera and gameplay is what made it fun and memorable.

Literally RE5.

This was the capeshit before capeshit, moron
>cringe quips is ok because it happened before it was mainstream
This is your brain on Ganker.
>cringe quips is ok because it happened before it was mainstream
unironically this. everything good eventually gets run into the ground.
literally yes, it took courage to be cheesy when every other game at that time was trying to be omega gritty and serious
the quips are ok because leon doesnt wink at the camera
Hey I know you! You're the guy that gives head to anyone who asks for it!
>RE4 would be a million times better if it was taken 100% seriously and all the cheesy dialogue was removed.

I'm talking about manchildren that say pre-RE4 Resident Evil was a gritty, well written series.

You're a homosexual and I fricked both your mom and your dad
I got proof for you right here. Proof.
He would show his bussy and wiener and balls on the screen, a very risky move by capcom.
"what, cant remember her fricking name? ok boomer"
>ok boomer

>*ashley rolls eyes* ugh I can't believe I'm stuck with this candyass
"What do you mean you dont know what a they/them bussy is? get with the time grandpa!"
Can't remember? I wish was like you, so I wouldn't remember the pain of Racoon City, the scars won't heal.
>FRICKING CAN'T REMEMBER THE FRICKING NAME, HUH!? A FRICKING SENIOR FRICKING MOMENT FRICKING PERHAPS!

Unironically funnier than the original.
>Fricking perhaps
>FRICKING FRICK CAN'T REMEMBER THE FRICKING FRICKER's NAME, HUH!? A FRICKING SENIOR FRICK FRICKING MOMENT FRICKING PERHAPS! FRICK
FTFY
>>Can't remember the name, huh? What are you, fricking senile?
>its a day that ends in Y
>contrarians desperately grasp at straws to bash RE4
dumbass all days end in Y
Something generic like "I don't care what you send after me, I'm saving Ashley!" or "You're insane!".
>it? IT? IT'S MA'AM
>Frick you!
