I haven't played any other R&C but I've played through this one. It's very on rails literally but it's good enough if you want to not use your brain and get some Saturday-morning cartoon tier story.

Thought the shooting and movement felt great and the level design was decent save for a few bad standouts.
On the flipside the enemy variety is terrible, the writing is middling at best and cringe at worst, and the game is in general much too easy on Normal and just slightly too hard on Hard. There's not really any postgame content (ie no good reason to do a NG+ run, though the option is there) and you can get everything in one go.
I mostly loved it but I wouldn't recommend it for full price. It's short and you'll probably only play it once. Would have been a perfect weekend rental back in the day.

It's really easy, except when it's bullshit. There are two arena matches that are bullshit (one weapon, not enough ammo, dodging isn't always fair). But there is very little bullshit, when you have your whole arsenal it's a very easy game, even on hardest difficulty.
Rachet and Clank has always been a little campy, a little childish, a little silly. So it is all these things and THAT'S FINE. if it's not your thing, don't buy the game.
