Riot MMO?

Will this be the biggest MMO of all time given Riot and Tencent's global popularity with League of Legends especially throughout all countries? Compared to something like OSRS which isn't as played in Asia?

I've always thought playing the most popular MMO at the height of its popularity would be really fun with the most competitiveness because then it's worth it in a way to sink all your time into it, I think the Riot MMO could be this.

Does anyone have thoughts on the potential Riot MMO?

    >expected release 2026

it's so far away I don't really want to care. I've played so many MMOs I assume that nothing new is under the sun anymore.

not him but seriously, people should already give on hyping up anything, it's a recipe for a disaster.

        >blue protocol gets a massive hype during it's development, people can't help but praise it and exclaim their interest
        >this attracts the Amazon and tencent hooknoses who can afford to pay any number to get their filthy censoring hands on it
        >the people basically sold their favored game to the highest bidder because everyone knows most japanese devs are quick to bow to their business executive & investor masters

        >amazon pushes the game's western release back by a year+
        >tencent, in fitting chinese fashion, wants to make a mobile version
        >practically all non-JP hype seems to have stopped like a cyclist ramming a concrete wall

So, if at all possible, never show interest towards anything in these deep dark waters, you'll only make the game a glowing bait, attracting all the "woke" capitalist filth to it

I realized this like 10 years ago, I haven't been hyped for MMOs since then. They've gone exactly where I predicted they would so nothing could possibly surprise me anymore except a game that is actually good and rivals the top 5.

          >Bamco
Blue Protocol was doomed from the start.
The game is shit and it has been bleeding players after the 3rd week.
The game was already fricked even without tencent and amazon censorship.

so much bullshit could be saved if the cat attached to serephine, and then someone just pushed them both off the bridge.

    We'd be free, bros.

    The well is already poisoned

1: Riot is a shit company who can only steal shit, not create anything new, and what they do create is the watered down waifu bait version of the original.
2: Ghostcrawler is a hack who destroyed WOW along with Travis Day

I fully expect it to be a full on genshin style gacha game with MMO style dungeons, and not a proper MMO, if it even comes out.

No its going to be shit because they are going to micromanage player interactions like a fricking israelite micromanages his goys.

The truth is, its going to be a massive success, but in doing so it will doom the MMO genre for another decade if not more.

Its not going to be an MMO, but its going to have all the MMO grinds you know and hate, dailies, weeklies, ect. Probably tied to an energy system typical of korean MMOs.

As someone said earlier, its going to be like Genshit Impact, focused on a single player story, a single play world, its just going to be always online live service dogshit.

The "MMO" part is going to be the fact its still going to have co-op, so you can play with your friends, but most importantly its going to have Dungeons and Raids like WOW, because Dungeons and Raids are easy as frick to make and hyper balance, but cutting out the world they don't have to playtest that, just throw in your typical daily/weekly chores and call it done.

It will be an even more streamlined dumbed down version of WOW, thats Riot's MO, take something popular, streamline it for zoomers, and market the frick out of it, for league gays it'll be the best shit ever, for content creators they'll get kickbacks left right and center from Riot for sucking their dick for clicks, and coomers will now have a new game to draw porn of.

But for people who actually like playing Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, we will be stuck with another 1-2 decades of Gacha Games claiming to be MMORPGs as the industry shifts from WOW clones to Riotmmo Clones.

The survival genre is unironically what the MMORPG was headed toward becoming before WOW derailed it into the skinnerbox mess it became.

The only downsides to survival games are:
1: the server pops and world are usually pretty small (esp in comparison to mmorpgs)
2: games are usually only PvP heavy or PVE heavy. There is no middle ground. No balanced pve+pvp game that takes both seriously and respects both player types.
3: the pve communities are pushing the genre toward the current skinnerbox mmorpg grind thru their demands on devs.
Seriously, its like they're disaffected mmorpg'ers who still have Stockholm syndrome for the old genre.

      I play both types too.
Pvp Rust with buddies and pve Conan exiles with my wife. So its not a bias.

why even discuss it when it's so far away? we know literally nothing about the game. riot is capable of great decisions (arcane, old league) and horrible decisions (modern league) alike, so it's really anyone's guess as to what this game will be like. anyone actually making claims about it is delusional or ignorant to the extreme, and this whole thread is moronic

I don't get the hype at all, they haven't shown any gameplay or told us really anything about it.

The MMO was only mentioned during their LoL 10th anniversary stream that was almost four years ago. Literally one sentence of evidence that it exists. No updates since then other than staff layoffs.
