Sanrio sells products that are basically just randomly brands with no backstory that end up "being famous for being famous". It's not a terrible match.
>pokemon tcg becomes an easy target for influencer scammers branding themselves as "investors" to run the most basic of basic pump-and-dump schemes >they targeted pokemon cards because not only are they almost entirely unregulated (especially compared to stocks), but they're accessible to children, who actually make up a significant portion of the victims of these schemes >group decides to build a game to target that specific audience
That's fricked up. Turning games into "investments" is bad enough, but scamming literal children is where a line needs to be drawn.
>game advertises itself as a fun game with an anti-scapler stance >me and best friend who love cryptids and have nostalgia for watercolor pokemon era get excited >cards come out >they do a total 180 and go maximumisraeliteoverload9000 >:(
we thought the goofy rules were part of the charm but I guess making a fun but IMBA product was never their concern.
I am going to burn down alpha investment's house
op here, i feel the exact same way. Me and my bf collect them casually together so its a little sad. but the surrounding community is fricking vile, the game had no player base. I used to really like magic for collecting but Ive come to hate magic as a game (everyone is a 40k that guy) so I dont even bother. Metazoo was nice, Id get a fun little opening ever week. I was actually the only reason my rather sizeable LGS even carried the cards in store, cause they'd know Id buy them.
I would ask the store workers if anyone else ever bought them, and they basically surmised that people would just fricking buy them on a new set release and none of them were shop regulars. No one fricking plays the game it seems. Every fricking area ive seen people talking about it as a fricking investment, not a fricking card game. Honestly rip fricking bozos. The kuromi cards were cool while it lasted.
When did they advertise as anti-scalper they copied companies like FTX and paid influencers to advertise the game partially by giving them product to flip

That's what guaranteed it's death. I'm just surprised it took this long. When no one is talking about playing a tcg, it's already on the way out. I'm pretty sure the only thing that really sustained it this long has been people buying new product in hopes of flipping it for a profit
back when it was still conceptual and there wasn't any concrete product yet, I think they did that just to bump of word of mouth before they got israelitey
>creator did a recent announcement of new upcoming sets >people spent $ thousands on kickstarter boxes for investment >graded rare cards are selling for over $10k+ >suddenly creator announces the game is getting shut down
What the FRICK happened
LMAO that was fast. Art looked like they stole pictures taped to the wall of an elementary school classroom. Flesh and Blood can't have too much longer right? That was another game speculators were creaming their jeans over.
What the frick is MetaZoo?
card game that was created to cash in on nfts and the speculative card game market
oh and its about its cyrpitds too ig
A heavily astroturfed scalping engine.
A fomo bagholder pyramid scheme guised as a tcg
Shitty mix of pokemon and mtg with terrible art and meme rules. Mostly just a scam.
Also it somehow got a collab with Sanrio.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
WE'VE REACHED THE BOTTOM NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY METAZOO BOOSTER BOXES
my game store was offloading them 50% and I considered getting a box considering how heavy one felt, but I think my better judgement took over.
I'm buying The Dip as we speak. That's where the smart money is.
**50% off
Shame it was a scam because the arf was pretty cool. I love the coloured pencil style.

Yeah, I'm thinking based
The "game" had all the worst parts a TC"G" could possibly have

pump and dump, the trick is keeping the hype going until the very last moment as if everything was going fine
Classic rugpull operation.
They finished selling off their stock of graded first edition cards and got while the gotting was good.

>Rip bozos
Back to Twitter. They probably made a killing and fricked off.
