backwards compability needs to become a thing of the past altogether. main benefit of consoles is that it sets a new bar for what hardware is required every several years. but when backwards compatibility is a thing we're stuck with devs making games for 10 year old hardware
that's not what backwards compatibility means anon. backwards compatibility means a console can play the games of its predecessor. like how the PS2 played ps1 games and wii played gamecube games.

Backwards compatibility means you can insert a PS1 game into your PS2 and it will play it. It doesn't refer to developers continuing to make new games for old consoles.

I cut spending on games because the last time I bought a recently launched game was in 2020. I have a backlog of at least 25 games I have not cleared. After the showcases I am in no hurry to upgrade neither my PC nor Consoles. I was thinking on getting a Xbox Sex after Hi Fi Rush but turns out it runs swell on my current PC.
And that's not what backwards compatible means, moron. Backwards compatibility is when the new console can run games made for a previous console, not when you release a game for two generations of consoles
No, many games still had Xbox One versions. Stuff like Hi Fi Rush and MS Airplane Sim don't, for example. From now one you will only be able to play new games on Xbox One via the cloud, I think.

They weren't talking about exclusives bromigo. Halo Infinite had an Xbox One version for example, that game came out in 2021, it's not that old.
But from now on games will all become exclusives to the series consoles. Like HFR. The only way to play it on Xbox One is via Cloud, which is cruel as shit because the game is unplayable there.

It was. It wasn't even that fast, it was like a PC with GTX 1070 and dogshit CPU back when GPUs were cheap. Everyone who wanted a console bought a PS4 (Pro) and everyone who wanted max fidelity that MS was advertising One X for bought a PC.

I think i was the only person that liked Ryse: Son of Rome.
It was the only 8th gen game that wowed me visually but the gameplay was too repetitive and the entire end QTE sequence was horrible.
me and a friend played it a couple years ago and it was decent enough that it should have gotten a spin off/sequel.
I did the right call trading mine for a Series X.
They stopped making those immediately after however long was Sunset Overdrive.
