Nioh (specially 2) set the bar too high. That being said, for being just humans, theres a lot of enemy variety in Ronin. The platforming and overall level design is ironically (open world) the best they've ever done. And the side stuff is pretty simple and straightforward, it isnt a slog at all, it might just be too simple, but then again, half of those are combat related so, if you dont want combat, I dont know why you are playing it

I went back and played a little Nioh 2 and I think rotr might legitimately have better combat. Nioh 2 is a combat GOAT obviously but rotr "feels" better. TN did a really good job.
Ronin would be better if it had more directional attacks, the downside to having so many unique stances is that they cant do proper button combos either
