80% of the challenges take a long amount of time to get and an insane amount of RNG. Some are even impossible. "Reach 1 HP from poison damage" How are you supposed to do that without an Acrid shadow clone?
I came back to this game after a few months and after updating my mods, I can't select any abilities and all my artifacts are gone. Any idea which mods are causing this?

"unlock_all" didn't work and I didn't figure out how to make RoRML path to my save. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I had to unzip RoRML from their discord, since installing the launcher from rainfusion wasn't working. Funnily enough, "ss_unlock_all" works fine, but not the other flag.

at that point you just have a shit engi player, if they somehow didnt handle all of their scrapping and trading *before* the stage was over then they kinda deserve to be left out of their free printing honestly

This rarely happens in an actual host, especially with faster printers and scrappers which makes the process for both near instantaneous. And when it ever does happen, it's usually just 1 moron who didn't manage to get it done before the tp was done. In that case you just start a countdown and make the slowgay salty for 5 seconds afterwards, problem solved. >conformity is a must-have in any serious host.
We only have 1 semi-active host (though I'm assuming that's you) that actually runs conformity to my knowledge and those hosts are by far the most boring and repetitive, and they definitely aren't any more challenging for having it either.

You stack attack speed and either use the AoE pillar to make enemies kill each other faster with their own attacks, and remember it also deletes all their projectiles, or you take spear and keep nuking them while applying as much fairy as possible.
And abuse Lock on bosses to negate their annoying attacks, like Dunestriders succ.

I've put out new version with per item repairs. Do you guys have anything to add in regards to balance? I completely admit that original version had bad balancing but the entire thing was hard to balance since you couldn't really account to what player would have.

other worthwhile survivor mods are miner, CHEF, sniper, and HAN-D. spikestrip is an okay general content mod, adds 2 shit elite types (you can disable) and a bunch of items and equipment (you should also disable pewter bracelet and quartz bunny) and 2 enemies (disable lively pots)

Generally I find the hosts we get nowadays repetitive, difficulty is nearly non-existent and I personally just don't like any of the balance and artifact setups hosts have. Doesn't help that after the mod purge, most of the mods we have left are tiny bland garbage and I often forget we're even using them. It's just a personal preference thing, not sure if there's much to "improve."
I wish Simulacrum was more popular here, it's a really fun mode and it very quickly turns into pretty difficult clusterfricks. It only needs a mod to prolong the break phase where you pick up items to 15 seconds and give it more random events.
All what simulacrum needs is more stages because going through the same 4 stages constantly is not very fun
You know that the map pool is fricked up when there's a high chance of the next map being the same one as the one you just played
Ideas for an item tier - Familiar Items (blue-ish color). They're items based off of the survivors. Void variants are based off of the survivor's alt skin and alt abilities. For example: >Acrid's Shackles

You wouldnt buy this but I fix it with the most moronic way possible: I turn off the exp and money effects and I can run the game no problem even on high with no drops aside multiple Gups for some odd reason.
Its such a fricking moronic fix but it works, is the same level of "turn off the music in LobCorp" kind of dumb. Unity is such a fricking weird ass game engine sometimes.

This has always been a nonsensical complaint if you bother looking at the shoes for 5 seconds. She has metal weights clamped around the shoes, they are not part of the shoes or her feet. They weigh her down to compensate for recoil, you can literally FLY with the amount of recoil her gun causes. It makes sense. >>too edgy looking like some OC
This is a valid complaint, it looks like they took inspiration from Rein's Sniper for the hood and visor, but they toned it down heavily enough that I feel like it almost fits the art style without looking too out of place. The real problem is that she looks like she's using tech way more advanced than everyone else which leads to a disconnect. The other survivors almost feel retro-futuristic in a way while her tech is just regular futuristic. Well, except for her backpack running Windows 10.
is anyone else's game fricked up by spikestrip? whenever i add it to my pack, it makes it so that i can't use the ui in the lobby screen, i can't change difficulties or artifacts and loadout changes need to be reloaded to apply

Enforcer's modded implementation already gets somewhat mixed views despite being in arguably the most fleshed-out RoR1 survivor mod (also including Nemforcer at that), and reworking him in an official capacity may end up being too divorced, perhaps to the point where he might as well be a new survivor. After all, pretty sure Hopoo cut other RoR1 characters due to being unable to figure out some stuff.

You can save time by just sharing the modified dll among your friend group instead of having everyone individually do the edit.

Starting stage 3 a unfinished shrine will start spawning, it does nothing but consume teleporter charge
Grenadier's secondary doesn't work, the projectiles spawned from the passive are a placeholder, no alt skill but the primary is functional
Angel wings aren't implemented
War declaration isn't properly implemented as its item description says (it does do something, though)

Getting some big Serious Sam vibes from this, I like it.
Pretty damn good mod. It provides you some side thing to do during your run. However, the Barnacle is super tanky since he gains 25 armour per level so you only deal 4 damage even during a god run while he has 3 billion hp. If host wants to use this mod then he should change the level armour to 0 in the config.
Is the sequel better than the first one? I have some money left from the steam sales and I was thinking about buying Risk of Rain but, if 2 is just better than 1, I might aswell wait and get it some other time.

This is false
AI has no standards for choosing a new target other than it being valid
The probable reason is that they might lose attention span and if they get attacked by something after losing attention they will instantly target the attacker.
Which most of the time ends up being turrets, drones or squids because those things are attacking constantly instead of strafing around and having cooldowns like you a player does
But that's the thing, the turrets they choose to go after are too far away to have ever attacked them but they'll still go and target the turrets instead of me even if I immediately started attacking it, just because it decided on the turret as a target when it spawned.
I've never seen that kind of behavior from any other boss.
It wouldn't surprise me if the AI calculations are being done from the driver (invisible character) and not the actual worm, meaning that if the driver is somewhere else than where the worm is and you attack it, the (possible, not sure if it exists) line of sight check will fail and it wont target you.

The worms would be more threatening if they always prioritized the player like they do in 1, so maybe they should add a check so that they only target npcs if they're doing more damage to the worm than the player is (so basically only if the player isn't actively attacking the worm for a period of time, and if there's an NPC nearby attacking them).

I like how this model has been coming along so far. As you're probably already changing the visor looks weird but the rest is very good, and the mag on the left arm looks very cool.
One nitpick I'd say is that the magazine shows 5 rounds yet by default you'd have only one, this is the secondary weapon
Maybe just decrease its size by half and make the shells bigger so there's a lower count.
Its current look could also be confused by people as "why do I already have a Backup Magazine" since items get attached to characters
The thing about that is that magazines are supposed to have multiple round in them. Maybe having something other than a magazine would be a better idea?

As long as the assets or scripts are vanilla esque it should be no problem.
Something like faster printers/scrappers is just something that works for everyone vanilla or not. Same goes for joining mid run games, changing characters mid game via typing in the console, or the host having debugtoolkit to do things as needed.

I found the lenses to not be diserable for everybody to get, yet its kinda useful from time to time. They can get outright banned by the host if expansion is on, and I don't mind, though they still affect other zones like pillars or void cells (this last one iirc).
Adding a extra thing on it, any stat increase, would feel like overloading the item for a white, right now it's +8m radius first stack +4m per stack, incentivizing to keep at least one and to spread them like clovers in 1.
Could make it flat scaling, +8 on first stack and later stacks and then add a static bonus on first pickup that does not stack. Could also just increase the stacking power from +8m to 16m and 4m+ to 8m. But not both, as that'd require a tier change and greens are bloated as it stands.

If you have any marked as deprecated, disable them first.
None are marked as deprecated, that's the thing. I can just disable them one by one but I have like 40 mods so this will take 3 hours.

Might not need to inherit items at all, they could very easily just behave as extensions of the character itself, rather than independant entities. Proc-ing damage as if the player was dealing the damage but nothing more

Should've mentioned that I've also looked into public free sound libraries and everything I found sounded like from a Grade B movie or unfitting for a videogame context, aka still good even if being repeated too much, with a dry sound and no echo or background noise
destiny 2 has pretty good sfx for weapons, not too hard to jump in game and grab the isolated sounds either

yeah I had the same problem, I'm the guy from last thread who asked why my vanilla 100% save wasn't being copied over into my modded save (thought that it read it and kept your progress in RoRML). Maybe it's supposed to do that, but in any case, I couldn't figure out how to implement any of the fixes the thread gave me. "unlock_all" didn't work and I didn't figure out how to make RoRML path to my save. Maybe it has something to do with the fact I had to unzip RoRML from their discord, since installing the launcher from rainfusion wasn't working. Funnily enough, "ss_unlock_all" works fine, but not the other flag.
what i did was to use the ss_unlock_all flag, then opening the savefile from starstorm and edit that file to unlock the vanilla stuff, also, you have to add the lines for the vanilla artifacts

This rarely happens in an actual host, especially with faster printers and scrappers which makes the process for both near instantaneous. And when it ever does happen, it's usually just 1 moron who didn't manage to get it done before the tp was done. In that case you just start a countdown and make the slowgay salty for 5 seconds afterwards, problem solved.

We only have 1 semi-active host (though I'm assuming that's you) that actually runs conformity to my knowledge and those hosts are by far the most boring and repetitive, and they definitely aren't any more challenging for having it either.

You stack attack speed and either use the AoE pillar to make enemies kill each other faster with their own attacks, and remember it also deletes all their projectiles, or you take spear and keep nuking them while applying as much fairy as possible.
And abuse Lock on bosses to negate their annoying attacks, like Dunestriders succ.

I've put out new version with per item repairs. Do you guys have anything to add in regards to balance? I completely admit that original version had bad balancing but the entire thing was hard to balance since you couldn't really account to what player would have.
I'd add a disclaimer on networked timed buffs to say that it might be fricking jank or break content considering that the game wasn't built with that being networked
other worthwhile survivor mods are miner, CHEF, sniper, and HAN-D. spikestrip is an okay general content mod, adds 2 shit elite types (you can disable) and a bunch of items and equipment (you should also disable pewter bracelet and quartz bunny) and 2 enemies (disable lively pots)

Generally I find the hosts we get nowadays repetitive, difficulty is nearly non-existent and I personally just don't like any of the balance and artifact setups hosts have. Doesn't help that after the mod purge, most of the mods we have left are tiny bland garbage and I often forget we're even using them. It's just a personal preference thing, not sure if there's much to "improve."
I wish Simulacrum was more popular here, it's a really fun mode and it very quickly turns into pretty difficult clusterfricks. It only needs a mod to prolong the break phase where you pick up items to 15 seconds and give it more random events.
All what simulacrum needs is more stages because going through the same 4 stages constantly is not very fun

Ideas for an item tier - Familiar Items (blue-ish color). They're items based off of the survivors. Void variants are based off of the survivor's alt skin and alt abilities. For example:

Your attacks have a 10% chance (+10% per stack) to apply poison.

Your attacks have a 20% (+10% per stack) chance to apply stacking blight.
>Engineer's Gloves
Your turrets and drones inherit one of your items (+1 per stack). Lower quality items are prioritized, but higher quality items can still be inherited.

Your followers gain a homing laser cannon that automatically attacks enemies for 100% damage per second (+50% per stack).

Railgunner's skin is even uglier than the base design, just stick to Sniper mod instead, it looks better and feels better to play too.
My problem she is way too overdesigned unlike the other Survivors, its like someone was trying to do an Overwatch design within Risky artstyle.

Its such a fricking moronic fix but it works, is the same level of "turn off the music in LobCorp" kind of dumb. Unity is such a fricking weird ass game engine sometimes.

The survivors (primarily the female ones) have already had some silly generically thicc proportions, i apreciaate a lankier taller one as contrast to the other two's more generic bodytypes. I also dont really mind the edge, yeah its edgy but vizors are withn the style and i dont think a hood really breaks the style
She does have a very different aesthetic feel than sniper though, more of a heavy-hitting adrenaline junkie feel than the calm collected sniper vibe OG sniper does. Shame we cant have both, i really like both of em (though, at least classic is still in as a really good mod)

This has always been a nonsensical complaint if you bother looking at the shoes for 5 seconds. She has metal weights clamped around the shoes, they are not part of the shoes or her feet. They weigh her down to compensate for recoil, you can literally FLY with the amount of recoil her gun causes. It makes sense.

This is a valid complaint, it looks like they took inspiration from Rein's Sniper for the hood and visor, but they toned it down heavily enough that I feel like it almost fits the art style without looking too out of place. The real problem is that she looks like she's using tech way more advanced than everyone else which leads to a disconnect. The other survivors almost feel retro-futuristic in a way while her tech is just regular futuristic. Well, except for her backpack running Windows 10.

Very hard to make work in 3d. even the mod, as well-made as it is, struggles to find a good middlepoint of having him be a fun well-designed character and one that's faithful

Enforcer's modded implementation already gets somewhat mixed views despite being in arguably the most fleshed-out RoR1 survivor mod (also including Nemforcer at that), and reworking him in an official capacity may end up being too divorced, perhaps to the point where he might as well be a new survivor. After all, pretty sure Hopoo cut other RoR1 characters due to being unable to figure out some stuff.

That's how its always been. The edit makes the game treat everyone as having every the DLC. If the host doesn't do the edit, it will run the DLC checks as normal for every client, even if the client modified their dll.
You can save time by just sharing the modified dll among your friend group instead of having everyone individually do the edit.

Starting stage 3 a unfinished shrine will start spawning, it does nothing but consume teleporter charge

War declaration isn't properly implemented as its item description says (it does do something, though)

right glove is for sure based off tf2 demo. the left hand is supposed to be a solid glove.
TF2 Demoman doesn't wear gloves by default. He's black, those are just his hands.

Download r2modman, then import the mod profile with the first code. To actually join, copy the longer code with only numbers to your clipboard and head to the multiplayer tab ingame, where you can then just click a button and join automatically.

You can build just about anything on him and he'll get off just fine. Speed goes well with his m1 and general high damage

It's basically a scaled up Bramble with a high health pool that spams 2 attacks at you over and over again. You play Doom with it and cirlce around it all the time. And has some barrier so you can't get close to him, I don't know how melee cucks can fight him. He's barely a threat, but all the smaller void brambles spawning around and shooting hundreds of homing missles will frick up you, I almost died to them.

Pretty damn good mod. It provides you some side thing to do during your run. However, the Barnacle is super tanky since he gains 25 armour per level so you only deal 4 damage even during a god run while he has 3 billion hp. If host wants to use this mod then he should change the level armour to 0 in the config.

No. Only one person in the lobby needs the DLC for everyone to use the DLC and the mods that affect the DLC.

I've lost count of every time a worm just fricked off immediately because it would rather attack a turret or squid turret I left on the other side of the map.

This is false
AI has no standards for choosing a new target other than it being valid
The probable reason is that they might lose attention span and if they get attacked by something after losing attention they will instantly target the attacker.
Which most of the time ends up being turrets, drones or squids because those things are attacking constantly instead of strafing around and having cooldowns like you a player does
But that's the thing, the turrets they choose to go after are too far away to have ever attacked them but they'll still go and target the turrets instead of me even if I immediately started attacking it, just because it decided on the turret as a target when it spawned.
I've never seen that kind of behavior from any other boss.
It wouldn't surprise me if the AI calculations are being done from the driver (invisible character) and not the actual worm, meaning that if the driver is somewhere else than where the worm is and you attack it, the (possible, not sure if it exists) line of sight check will fail and it wont target you.
Just as an example
That makes sense. The worms would be more threatening if they always prioritized the player like they do in 1, so maybe they should add a check so that they only target npcs if they're doing more damage to the worm than the player is (so basically only if the player isn't actively attacking the worm for a period of time, and if there's an NPC nearby attacking them).
What if achievements got changed to be like TF2 where you have 30 achievements of different difficulties and once you reach milestones you unlock content
With some of the achievements unlocking content directly, instead of giving you nothing (and still counting towards milestones)

Okay what about no empty achievements without rewards, but still a milestone achievements where you need to do X achievements instead of it having a requirement of it's own
That'd probably be fine depending on what would actually be locked behind the milestones. Better than having to do prismatic trials or some shit for content.

I'm not sure about the weird trapezoidal magazine on top of the arm gun. Maybe a more traditional magazine shape would look better?
My two cents: Give her a bigger blast collar and make the mag something chunky like a bolter mag but sideways.

I like how this model has been coming along so far. As you're probably already changing the visor looks weird but the rest is very good, and the mag on the left arm looks very cool.
One nitpick I'd say is that the magazine shows 5 rounds yet by default you'd have only one, this is the secondary weapon
Maybe just decrease its size by half and make the shells bigger so there's a lower count.
Its current look could also be confused by people as "why do I already have a Backup Magazine" since items get attached to characters
The thing about that is that magazines are supposed to have multiple round in them. Maybe having something other than a magazine would be a better idea?

As long as the assets or scripts are vanilla esque it should be no problem.
Something like faster printers/scrappers is just something that works for everyone vanilla or not. Same goes for joining mid run games, changing characters mid game via typing in the console, or the host having debugtoolkit to do things as needed.
Modded items, modded characters, skills, assets in general is where it gets fricked.
This game I joined had enforcer, fricking goku and some clearly not vanilla characters, honestly , it was a lot of fun and I'd like to host some of those myself

Besides smaller mods that just change vanilla things around, it isn't. The game simply won't let you join if you don't have every required mod in your client.

They're both some of the easiest characters in the game to play, just try and go for the right items ASAP, utilize your mobility and you'll be fine. Alternatively, if you don't wanna bother with any of that, just get some Lost Seer's Lenses and just steamroll through the entire run automatically.

At the start, sure, nobody denies this. But once you start to inevitably get items, especially attack speed and AOE (not very hard things to get your hands on) Eviscerate almost immediately starts outclassing Slicing Winds in every single way with moronic amounts of (AOE) procs and iframes that completely shit on Slicing Winds' mediocre range and set amount of hits.

Make punching bag have some visible indicator when it's working. And have chromatic lenses give you movespeed when inside the teleporter zone, like 7% per stack, so others won't scrap it immidietaly because it doesn't give any meaningful stats to you.
i partially disagree on the chromatic lenses thing. its useless after stage 3 or so and it should need some more meaningful stat. something like 4% more crit during teleporter events that turns to 4m in expansion when the teleporter boss is killed?

Personally I like a bit more the chunkier circle parts of the helmet from the other model, the current one reminds me a bit too much of bandit / merc
Also I'm fine with a sideboob as long as it doesn't look ridiculous, anything that doesn't go in this model can go into mastery or different skins, so there's plenty of chances for variations if anybody wants to make them.
Maybe even don't do that for this model since it's in a pretty good spot right now.
I found the lenses to not be diserable for everybody to get, yet its kinda useful from time to time. They can get outright banned by the host if expansion is on, and I don't mind, though they still affect other zones like pillars or void cells (this last one iirc).
Adding a extra thing on it, any stat increase, would feel like overloading the item for a white, right now it's +8m radius first stack +4m per stack, incentivizing to keep at least one and to spread them like clovers in 1.
Could make it flat scaling, +8 on first stack and later stacks and then add a static bonus on first pickup that does not stack. Could also just increase the stacking power from +8m to 16m and 4m+ to 8m. But not both, as that'd require a tier change and greens are bloated as it stands.
I made them that way so that the helmet would fit in a bit more into ror2's style. Should I not go for that?
