Never ever, smash is loved for more reasons than the actual game, its like pokemon where technically you could make a mechanically better game but it just wouldn't interest people
Is Fraymakers worth buying if I'm mostly interested in creating custom characters/stages? The tools shown in the trailer look cool, but the devs don't seem to be doing a great job supporting the game.
>the devs don't seem to be doing a great job supporting the game.
They seem to be putting out regular updates, do you meant from the point of workshop stuff?
First and last time i supported a israelitestarter, mcleod should've been working on porting ssf2 to any other engine instead so it can have working online
>What would Nintendo have to do to actually get Smash fans to not buy the next one?
Fill it with more anti-competitive stuff like Brawl's random tripping.
Except brawl sold very well, as did smash 4 (doesn't have tripping but that game was actually hot garbage)
It would require them to make a very shitty console, worse than the wii u while also doing every bad thing they could
i don't know, but it'd take a spectacular failure.
probably something like axing 3/4ths of ultimate's roster, beiing buggy, having questionable gameplay choices and all newcomers being returning characters, mostly from fiire emblem
and even then it'll probably take one or two more entries doing similar mistakes to really kill it. Well, competigays will just go back to play melee
If you're calling is a "smash killer", you're being moronic.
However, it will be by far one of the best platform fighters ever made. I used to play the first one every weekend, whether at a friends house or just online.
The game is like melee if they refined the competitive mechanics to not be glitches or exploits, so wavedashes feel natural, ledge drops feel like you are actively going for them, etc. Its really fun and feels like the first 2 smash games, the modding makes the game basically smash MUGEN too.
Rivals 2 will not be bad. Dan Fornace has invested 2 million into its development. You can screenshot this shit if you want.
My friends and I have not played it lately because ive been out of the country for work for a few months, and I have been too tired. Hopefully I'll be able to revisit it with them soon.
Probably not. I've hoped for a smash killer, and I've come close to believing this could be it. I think my biggest issue with other "smash killers" is in making captivating characters. Nickelodeon/DC are memorable, but it's a formulaic gimmick to try and shove them into a platform fighter. Feels too on the nose, ends up being an obvious reference that suddenly has you thinking of smash again. Grimdark edgelords don't fit the bill, same goes for quirky anime hoes. They're both a dime a dozen ergo far too forgettable and will only appeal to a small niche . This game goes for fun animals, and leans on 4 elements to justify the powers, which ends up being far more aloof and memorable. I wanted to believe this could be the solution but it comes off FAR too much as furry shit (once again, only a niche will care). Close, but no cigar.
>remove the only distinguishing thing about itself, the art style >Smash killer
No it's furry bait and a fine game but it's no longer interesting. Just another poor man's clone
when rivals has such fun gimmicks like Kragg's rock, how could you say the mediocre pixel art is the game's best trait? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVY339wnzc0
no but will probably be the best smash clone on pc for a while
for some reason no smash-like has ever felt as good as smash. its like their animation blending always fricking sucks or something

furhomosexual shit

you did back $50 to get into the beta, right?
in its current state i wouldn't recommend it even if it were free

>shill trying to force his irrelevant game into relevancy
It will have almost no threads after release, like those other shameless clones.
no shit. Ganker only cares about roster, but it will have players
Oh god someone wants to talk about video games on Ganker instead of trannies someone call the fricking cops
the only thing that can kill smash is smash itself
What would Nintendo have to do to actually get Smash fans to not buy the next one? So long as it gets newcomers, they'll buy it.

They could make a total conversion mod from Arms and still sell 10 million copies
i don't know, but it'd take a spectacular failure.

I hope so. I need a truly reactive and dynamic fighting game. tired of guessing.
Smash does have guessing, lots of it.
why do these games never have cool characters? it's always furries or toons, smash at least has shit like ridley or ike
Clairen and Etalus are cool. I hope they don't turn Etalus into a teddy bear.
I like the green nude raccoon gal
Post more cute paws.

Hopefully this will end better than TFH. That was a real kick in the balls.
