Smash Ultimate? Intentionally shallow.
NASB2? Dead.
Multiversus? Comatose.
Brawlback? I wish, honey.
Rushrev? Never heard of it.
Combo Devils? Now you're just making up names
2024 is the year of Rivals 2. All other platform fighters will bow before it.

RE-ENTER
rushdown revolt had 10/10 gameplay, but Ganker never so much as gave it a try. truly a rostergay board
Fighting games are carried by their characters, all of these look like if you asked Dall-e to make a knockoff Overwatch character.
on the other hand is sexo and therefore I will pay attention to her game.
These character designs are just fundamentally unappealing in some way I can't put my finger on. Like they're concepts by FGC trannies exclusively for FGC trannies. I knew I'd never touch it when they gave Falcons knee, Manliest move in the game to the space Nogress.
If all you can ever seem to post is this ugly fox girl, I'm not much inclined to back/preorder it.
Is this your first day on Ganker dot org slash v slash? Gameplay gets to page 10 in 10 minutes. Some bullshit about girls and waifus gets bumps.

Which one of these furry shits is going to be added to Rivals 2?
Wren is the best by far, in terms of art, gameplay, and lore. Any other choice would be a huge disappointment.
Blow it out your ass, Ultimate and RoA are the two best platform fighters, and I'll not bother with some phony hate-rivalry between them.
Ultimate isn't even in the top 10, but there's no need to worry about a "rivalry" because Ultimate gays (aka rostergays) only play one game alone. Why? Because it's Nintendo approved and has all their favorite fanservice nostalgia bullshit characters. On principal they refuse unofficial, illegal, or indie games, regardless of how much more fun they are.
>because Ultimate gays (aka rostergays) only play one game alone
Apparently not since my post proves otherwise. Also, nice cherrypicking with literal whos playing rarely played characters poorly. I can just go find disabled people playing rivals as well.
>cherrypicking
No, that's just how Ultimate is. It's grand finals and it's not like either player is sandbagging or 'playing lame'. Lousy movement, spammy aerials, insanely stupid offstage play, and stocks lasting baffingly long.
Fraymakers sweep!
all small time
Anon? Slap City's numbers are just as low as Rushdown's. Dead.
Who 2? Never even heard of the first one.
new super mario bros 2 or maybe nick all stars brawl 2
Those certainly are games.
Rivals of Aether was a pixel indie Smash clone from like ten years ago. It got a lot of dev support for an extremely long time, lot of DLC that eventually got added to the base game, rollback netcode (the good kind) and an extremely easy-to-use modding suite for custom characters, stages and game modes. It's worth playing just as Smash MUGEN even if you aren't interested in the original cast
They're making a sequel that's supposed to come out this year, personally I'm not too hype, it's copying Smash a lot more closely than the first one and won't have mod support for a long time if ever
Were there any good mods for the first game?
Too many for me to even remember. There are some neat OCs with interesting gameplay concepts or twists on traditional Smash moves; my favorite, Pomme, was a character with a Peach float that could set up a field that both boosted her projectiles and turned the float omnidirectional like Project M Mewtwo, and she and a few others were so good they got added to the game officially. There are both direct ports of Smash characters or other fighting game characters and more unique interpretations of them, and a lot of unique movesets for characters who have never been in a fighting game before.
Most stages were just what you'd expect from a platform fighter stage but a lot had nice art. Stages were also how the majority of gameplay mods were made since you could have some really in-depth custom scripts running. People added new game mechanics that all characters could take advantage of (though for some each custom character's author needed to add functionality for it) like supers, traditional health bars, shit like the Guilty Gear roman cancel, even major mechanics like Guilty Gear Strive's wallbreaks. There were also single player boss fights, minigames that changed the genre, one player actually made a Deltarune-style RPG with their OCs that you played by picking a stage and having the scripts override anything that would happen in a normal match.
There are even tournaments with a curated list of workshop characters, and the community does "Workshop Directs" to hype up releases and in-development characters. You'll find a lot of crap just like with MUGEN but I had a ton of fun just downloading random characters and weeding the good from the crap, and playing random characters with friends.

What possesses a company to make a smash clone? It's never going to be a hit. Doesn't matter how hard you appeal to furries, it ain't happening.
