has fishing ever been fun in any game ever? why does it keep infesting video games?
is there some shadowy cabal of fishermen secretly making sure to shove minigames of the most boring activity on earth into as many video games as possible to ruin them?
Fishing is always fun.
terraria fishing's ok, usually set up in the biome you want, stack as many +fishing modifiers as you can, and get a bunch of loot before they run out
Its still tedious to me. I only ever did it because its required to get the cellphone.
Treat it like building another house for an NPC. Build a little fishing hut, make it look nice, and fishing becomes like 300% more enjoyable.
The original Nier had a pretty engaging fishing quest.
I absolutely love it in RDR2. Being able to have such detailed fishing in the same game I can blow someone's skull apart is amazing.
I'm fine with Warframe's fishing, at least in Cambion Drift. Your only goal is to wait for the right time of day, drop some residue on the Exocrine (either surface or below ground, depending on what you're catching), and just throw your harpoon at any fish you see.
By the time you're done, you're swimming in Daughter Tokens.
you can use that fishing rod for more than just fishing, like pulling in enemies or grabbing items from far away
I like using the fishing rod to kill enemies with fall damage

the only good thing about fishing in MC is getting treasure, just plop an afk farm down and go to sleep, you'll have hundreds of items by the morning

i'd rather not miss out on cliffs and caves, that stuff is the best thing in minecraft in like 10 years

fishing in a non fishing game is always fun. but I always hate actual fishing games.. I hope The Angler is decent, I really enjoyed hunter so I have faith
Fishing should usually come after a big story moment so you can reflect on the story without being distracted. It is a momentary pause in gameplay. Not gameplay itself. Not to say the act of fishing can't be enjoyable in a game but it has to be truly engaging.
This game lags all to frick on ps4 these days. You break blocks and have to wait seconds till the block disappears and the tile drops while hearing the music skip. Overworld AND nether now. Is this game just that poorly optimized? Its a game of squares, a lot of squares sure, but wtf. Its become annoying to play.
