RoboCop: Rogue City gives me more VTMB vibes than any game since VTMB. It's a shame Teyon aren't the developer in charge of VTMB2, because they'd absolutely do a great job.

I'm not sure if you're allowed to say prostitute anymore
The game doesn't seem overly concerned with being politically correct, but you make an interesting point. I'm curious if there will be anything toned down or censored in the final build. I know they had to censor sex scenes in Terminator because one of the console vendors refused to approve release. I notice that half the characters are smoking here. You don't realize how sanitized modern media is until you look for cigarettes.
Looks great, and I see the VtM:B ypu referred to.
When is it coming out?
Supposed to be coming in September, but the closed beta was somewhat buggy, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's delayed.
ah yes, its like calling Cyberpunk RPG
I have no idea how this game is going to work out. In order to arrest or shoot do you have to use your invicibility to scan the surroundings and identify probable cause in order to respond? I dont get how the Robocop element is meant to be fun for a game, but I hope it pulls it off.
It seems inspired by Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, so you walk around hubs with your weapon holstered, and sometimes go into separate areas where combat is allowed.
You have skills that you can upgrade, and these can lead to non-lethal options for resolving disputes.
There's also a morality system oriented around Uphold the Law vs Serve the Public Trust. It's not black and white right and wrong, but rather you choose whether to punish people according to the letter of the law or take mitigating circumstances into account. I assume there will be consequences down the road.
>It seems inspired by Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Sounds good actually. If there's one thing that game did right, it's the gameplay over the hubs. It ain't no OG Deus Ex but MD is pretty alright.
that has me intrigued, added to wishlist
After their Terminator game being better than anything in the franchise since TSCC, I'm kinda down for their robocop game
WHAaa
It's made by those guys?!
HYYYYYPE
What terminator game?
Terminator Resistance
sharty won
The cutscenes seem a little work in progress currently, with weird clipping, slowdown, and lighting issues in places. But I'm sure it'll be polished by launch.
robocop looking good here
The RoboCop model has to skirt around a few problems with how tall RoboCop is supposed to be, and how he's supposed to animate -- the films cheated a lot. But generally it's a very detailed model. They nailed small but critical aspects like his lips. And Peter Weller is seamless in the role. He's a lot older now, but they've done a great job with the voice modulation and apparently Teyon were really open to having Weller give script notes on what he thought RoboCop would say or wouldn't say.
Honestly it's kinda cool that this seemingly shovelware developer has (hopefully) found a niche in videogames based off 80s sci-fi shit since you can really feel their passion in Terminator Resistance and how much they love the franchise in terms of all the little things they add.
Finally something based amid the endless torrent of goyslop
Pretty much, there's a lot of jank and ugliness like how the skin in
looks really off despite Robocop's skin being life-like in the movies but shit like all the little references in Resistance felt like it was more than just a paycheque to these guys
OCP psychologist lady has a prosthetic arm, which is an interesting touch. It's not clear if her interest in RoboCop is altogether altruistic, or if OCP are up to more bullshit.
What the hell? Is this an RTX on and off case here?
Dickshot only playthrough, here I come.
How are the face animations so far? I saw the preview videos and man they looks terrible, its especially bad because of how well the environment looks but at least Robocop looks good in that regard
>How are the face animations so far?
It seems largely identical to Terminator, since it's very clearly built on top of Terminator's foundation.
Skills menu.
Interesting, I want to see some gameplay that shows how this all actually plays out though.
Frick this whole kinda Immersive sim where you can talk your way through encounters is freaking cool for a Robocop game.
I hope it stays the course for its September release date but as you said the game being still rough and also that month being super fricking busy with things like Phantom Liberty and Starfield. Its super likely it will be delayed.
Yeah I wouldn't want to release anything close to starfield, and nothing sci fi close to phantom liberty
They better delay it imo.
There's some kind of upgrade system for the Auto-9 that hasn't been seen yet.
I am so fricking hyped for this game, they even brought back Peter Weller to voice Murphy. They did a pretty good job with the Terminator game so this will probably be very decent. Best of all there will be no woke shit
>Bloodlines 2 will never come out
>the Saudis are too busy with their supercity to further fund the sequel to Mankind Divided
>but a Deus Ex inspired Robocop game will come out soon
2 will never come out
Believe it or not, they're going to reveal the developer in September, and presumably release new trailers and stuff.
>next month
I know that Paradox are israelites that have infinite money but goddamn Bloodlines must be eating away at their money. Every month that Bloodlines 2 isn't finished is a month that drains resources. The IP is cursed and my condolences to the new studio developing it.
>next month
frick I thought it was August already

And it comes in the place of a RoboCop-inspired Deus Ex game. Ain't that funny?
The only thing needed now would be an Arcanum inspired game
One of the few games that felt like
Paul Verhoeven-core was Saints Row 2 and that is in no small part why I like that game.
I genuinely can't see that, what's Verhoveney about SR2?
I trust these devs after their not!Metro Terminator game
You guys need to work on your shill threads.
I think you need to keep working on that noose, homosexual
The closed beta had about 2 hours of content, spread across three maps. The TV station, the police station, and a downtown area you've seen in official footage like this.
The funny thing is, this makes the game look way more shooting focused than it actually is. You do shoot people, but the game's structure is a lot more police-oriented.
Oh so it's more immersive sim than a shooter? That's good to hear
You spend a lot of time talking to people, looking for evidence, and basically doing police work. The shooting happens when there's bad guys with guns. I suspect that the devs were probably aware that the shooting mechanics of an authentic RoboCop game are gonna get tedious after a while. But roleplaying as RoboCop holds up for much longer.
Sounds pretty interesting since that sort of open ended exploration shit is what I like and yeah I was worried that they'd just make a shooter which would have been pretty dull given Robocop will just be able to shoot the nuts off any thug he wants
I would caution that it's not really an immersive sim. Yes, you can throw chairs at people. But it's more like Bloodlines than Deus Ex. The game is quite scripted, and it's not sort of driven by emergent systems, being able to flush toilets, turn off light switches, etc.
I think they are one of the few for hire/licensed game devs out here, competent to release stable games on time.
This Robocop games looks interesting, I hope they manage to get their hands on Dredd, Spawn, or The Darkness license.
They're also a really nice studio to work for, according to Glass Door. No crunch, and the only downside is lower pay than other Polish studios.
I would personally love for Teyon to step outside of licensed IP and remake the original Deus Ex.
looks pretty good, i'll keep an eye on it.
I hate that every fricking game looks the same now. I thought this was just a screenshot of CP2077.
No it doesn't you blind spastic, it's a screenshot of an 80's city street, how is it remotely similar to Cyberpunk?
He is kind right, most games use the default light shader, combined with the default realistic PBR settings games end up looking the same, it takes effort and time to make a game look unique these days.
To illustrate a point, this screenshot right here isn't from Terminator. It's from the new version of Bloodlines 2 by an as-yet unidentified studio. It's not exactly the same, but the vibes are similar in a way that goes beyond "RoboCop is probably influenced by the original Bloodlines". It's the shaders, the approach to lighting. It's by the book.
Insane that these guys are the same devs who made that godawful Rambo game a couple of years back, what a glow-up.
It feels like I’m the only person on Ganker excited for the new robocop game.
I just dont see how it will work. I love Robocop but that doesnt mean Im a consumer that will jump headlong into anything with its name on it, how many times do you have to be burned by that mindset before you realize that branding is why they even make some really terrible media.
I hope its good, it doesnt look like just a generic FPS with the label on it.
I wonder what happened to the VR version of Terminato they were working on. There's been no activity in two years, but they were definitely doing something towards the end of DLC development, and there's a whole bunch of VR assets in the PC version.
Interestingly, Nacon Malta seem to have the Terminator 1/2 license now, and are doing their own Terminator game.
>The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world and features an original story that builds on the events of the official films. You play as a group of nuclear apocalypse survivors fighting to stay alive in a time period between Judgment Day and the creation of John Connor’s resistance.
I heard that Nacon sent a takedown message to that Tech Com fan game. Teyon & Reef Entertainment had no issue with it, but Nacon don't like competition.
is the one talking the guy at the barrel?
shoulda been "Those motherfrickers on the first floor be racist! They done put blinds in they windows. I can't be watching they TV no more."
obviously the writer has never been around homeless
damn. and i though robocop is a dead franchise.
How do you make a Robocop game fun, though? He's indestructible to your average gangster.
Make him go against loads of enemies and gradually up their guns.
make him fight other robots
make him fight enemies with high caliber weaponry
He succumbs to concentrated small arms fire. He's durable, not indestructable.
I literally cannot stop thinking about that part in I think Robocop 2 where he shits out some sort of icecream, did they say ti was edible in the movie? I can't remember.
Are you doing normal policework as well, or is it more like the standard "the bad men are in this apartment do something about it Adam Jensen"?
Hope it turns out good, I've always wanted a decent Robocop game.
