Probably a 7 String that is cost effective, having expensive guitars now is a fricking boomer meme.
Also make a cab with some Hesu Demon speakers in the future, fricking great sound.
If you have something like a Focusrite 2i2, you can make it to pick up the audio by selecting the "open mic" instead of the Rocksmith cable
Are you getting sputtery sounds in-game? Change the Rocksmith2014 ini file. It should be in the root folder. I changed Win32 latency thing to 0 and it fixed it. Sometimes RS borks for some reason.
The game won't just run the file 'whatever its type was'. It's a weird thing I used to play this all the time before but something broke it.
It's shitty that Ubisoft switched to their weird mobile RS thing that doesn't work.
They really only needed one more release of RS to polish it up. It's so close to being a spectacular tool, but is held back by the weird technical glitches.
I highly suggest you just use a pirated version, the original one is just garbage because of Ubisoft's drm, I also had crashes back in the day, besides also they started doing patches to make harder to put Custom DLC songs on it.
>Probably a 7 String that is cost effective
Jackson has some decent entry level 7-strings. LTDs are as cheap, but I prefer the scale length that Jackson uses. It's almost baritone but not quite.
>Jackson has some decent entry level 7-strings
Yeah I did saw some, and there's also a couple Harley Benton 7-string ones as well, there's even a baritone one I think, but I'm just gonna wait it out a while longer, I'm good with the EC-256 for now, I'm more keen on saving for making the cab in the future, would have picked up one of those Harley Benton greenbacks but since I'm not a eurogay to buy locally on Thomann I would get assraped on shipping fares + taxes.

after 400 hours of rocksmith i've started playing plugged into an amp and using the unplugged mode in-game.
note detection was always wonky for my guitar anyway, and as much as i tried, i could never get audio input lag down to a point where it didn't feel off.
i do the Y splitter thing sometimes for session mode, but i don't really care too much about in-game score anymore. as long as it sounds right.
Thanks for reminind me of this. I remember downloading a pirated version which worked well with my audio interface and it was a cool way to practice and learn songs.

Get something you connect with so looking at it encourages you to play it. Supposedly humbuckers are detected better but really anything with an input jack works after calibrating.
>If I had the dosh I might be tempted to put together a tele partscaster
You could pick up one of those cheap Harley Benton kits if you want to go full DIY, at least for you to do a fun project, though the QC from what I saw in quite a few vids are a bit all over the place, some came great, others with some issues, and a few bad apples that had bigger problems, you could give it a look if it interest you anyways, can be a good way to get good luthier experience.
So, for the pirated versions has anyone done fan patches to get it working better on newer systems?
I only played the Steam version and it just crashes, has weird sound stuff now and again, is overall in need of some polish.
I already played when it came out. I did find I got better, but that was probably just plain old practice rather than the game specifically.
It's really fun for learning songs at about your skill level, and it's really really fun to just put on Ramones songs and drunkenly pound through them with the full backing.
I've found it's not that good for learning complex solos. I wish it had a way to just lay out a section of the song as actual flat tab when I am learning more dense patterns.
Well, you're already owning the instrument to play this. Since it uses the real instrument. So the answer is yes. Playing improves your learning more than not doing anything.
I've been playing this on and off for a year with a hand-me-down Gibson Les Paul from a granduncle. I still don't know how to play the guitar. Also note that there's a big chance that I might also just be an idiot.
Yes, I went from knowing a couple basic chords to being able to play Final Countdown entirely, solo included. Its a really good tool, but I also suggest you go look for guitar tutorials like Lick Library, those are great, specially the ones by Andy James, who is now lead guitarist on Five Finger Death Punch, guy is a monster not only of playing, but as a teacher too.
finna get a Viper Blue epiphone. hope they don't sell out quickly.
That one is pretty good, honestly these days I would even dare to say Ephiphone makes better shit than Gibson itself, the guys at the US can't even make a good paintjob ffs.
OP is the only person who still plays this garbage. PS being the guitar guy only makes people avoid you. I bet you start singing infront of people Lmao
I mean the notes in the stock songs are pretty accurate with the exception of Go with the Flow being in the wrong tuning. If you want to learn a song, pick one. CDLC can be hit or miss but the makers can always update the versions as they go.
Not really, Rocksmith and all that similar stuff is just a gimmick. Finish the justinguitar course to get some fundamentals and just learn to play the genres that interest you
this. Rocksmith taught me how to 1:1 play some songs I like but it didnt really teach me anything about playing guitar on my own, its just more accurate guitar hero. I learned more about guitar from this asiatic and he isnt even talking about guitar

Do people actually learn how to play an instrument through video games?

I'm trying to, because otherwise it's fricking boring for me to learn through normal means.
Well, you're already owning the instrument to play this. Since it uses the real instrument. So the answer is yes. Playing improves your learning more than not doing anything.

If you're not a social moron and half decent, it is unfair how easily it can peel panties off.
>PS being the guitar guy only makes people avoid you.
why the frick would i want people to approach me?
I'm currently using JustinGuitar to learn the guitar. When should I start using Rocksmith to supplement it?
No reason not to right now, if you have cable and pirate the copy. Its fun change to routine and keeps you sharp.

Could be neat. First one's gotta be a DMC, Sonic or HiFi Rush song
