Can't play as Fartmancer, Leech and Beastmen Bannerman. Can't play as Elites like Stormvermin and Chaos Warrior. Can't play as Monsters. There is only one map (Screaming Bell), but redesigned and split in two halves. Hordes are small, there is no Friendly Fire, U5 have a lot of healing and of course temphp so it's hard to whittle them down. Ubersreik Five wins like 95% matches, because they are stronger and Cata players played with them for hundreds or thousands hours. Meanwhile everyone is a newbie while playing as rats.
There needs to be some way to control Elites or at least spawn them when playing as Chaos. Unlike l4d where Elites don't exist and Specials are the main threat, in VT2 Elites are more dangerous. Without their aid it's hard to do anything as Specials, because there is nothing distracting Ubersreik Five and they instakill you in a one or two shots.

They didn't get to the point of physically making it but they considered it. And Nocturne hints at something and we're told clowns have what's left of Crudarach, it's a perfectly good idea for DLC if they get around to it.

But on the flipside to THAT, it could just be handwaved as it being an alternative version of yourself so different things happened. could even be a neat little way to let players have a glimpse of various ideas that were floated around during development.

For instance Aeldari souls are strong so they can be active entities in the warp hence why Slaanesh can torturefrick them and they'll feel it. I wouldn't take it too serious and literal. We know that there are plenty of warp energy that has never been souls. Does energy produced from chaos rituals and worship made of souls, for example? We know that emotions are reflected in the warp. Also, I think that souls being chunks of different size and smallest indivisible fragments is contradictory. Not to mention that souls have been divided in the past

For them to truly have a happy ending, they'd need to get a spirit stone for the Rogue Trader and have Muaran or the other guy bind it to him. Since Yrliet will have to spend eternity without the Rogue Trader otherwise. They wouldn't let him into a craftworld's infinity circuit even if he's been an ally to Aeldari, but they could slot it somewhere else so Yrliet can interact with him from the circuit when she dies of old age or in combat herself.

By keeping his soul in a spirit stone she could interact with him if he was slotted somewhere on a Craftworld (not the circuit since warp spiders - the creatures not the unit would BTFO him and he would just go to warp as per usual) To clarify fully*

That was comfy. oddly enough, it didn't even end up with sex but it did end up with finding out that the storms were controlled from an asteroid on the planet's orbit, on it there was an abandoned mechanicus station, absolutely terrifying recordings of the machine spirit on how did it come to this state, and deep in the asteroid's core - a chaos lair, with daemons and shit. It's not about the quality of prose. It's good enough in rt, sure. I'm talking about more about the premise. rt had very few and inbetween cool side quests. the mehcanicus space hulk, the black ship and the genestealer crash site. those are the only ones that come to mind

Once, we landed on a jungle planet, seemingly abandoned. In the middle of jungles stood a weird, out-of-place tall temple of sorts, not of imperial architecture, doors wide open, inscriptions on the walls that even pasqal couldn't parse.
Inside, there was a statue of a massive bird on the altar, fully encrusted with gems. Its presence, if you look at it for too long, slightly changed your perception of reality, but brought peace and quiet. Being creatures with int 30, we set up a camp there, Jimmi and Pasqal started to parse tablets around, and said that this was a place of worship for "the Shining One, or the Lord of Light", long story short we've decided to investigate the altar again, and on a stone table under the bird there was an image of primitive figures worshiping an aquilla, with spaceships flying and stuff. Connecting the dots, it was made clear who was that Shining One of theirs.
It was interrupted by a high priest of the Shining One named Nakhit, who recognized us as star children, and by his own claim was the last survivor of his tribe, and that the only cults left on the planet are of the chaos gods who slaughtered everyone else. Then he asked to join RT's ship and continue spreading the Shining One's light in the universe. The retinue (Idira, Pasqal and Argenta) said he's fricking lying about his true agenda and shouldn't be trusted. He yet again insisted that he has nothing but good intentions in mind, and asked to join, making good points, and actually being pretty sincere. And I shot him. Better safe than sorry.
The cults were eventually eradicated, and his corpse probably still lies under the bird's sight.
Many days later, I still wonder what was his deal.

It's a hard mode to AVOID lewdness, rather than engage in it. There's a discrimination, you cannot send an AI too explicit lines, but the AI itself can generate smut, and never doubt billions of autists who train it specifically with these restrictions in mind, and train it well.
So if you're savvy enough you can make Character AI write Lanaevussy or Argentina blowing roguewiener? Is it possible to learn this power?

It was mine idea actually to explore Dargonus' hive, wanted to see how AI will handle the lore. I just took Heinrix as a sidekick, and then he took the blame, and I didn't interfere cause the dialogue was turning too real.
Mostly wandering around, looking at people, talking about the future and present of humanity. Diving deeper, during the nighttime he wanted to show me something, it was an odd-looking door, and he asked me to stay and wait outside, naturally I went exploring instead. Found two drunkards fighting and shouting, after a quick chat they pointed me to the nearest gambling house, which provided me an enlightening conversation with the lowborn at the table. Heinrix stormed in furiously, but had to wait till I finish the game because frick you jimmi that's why. Got an earful outside on my behavior, but eventually he showed me what he wanted to, and what was behind the door I'll leave to your imagination.
Returned back to the spire safely, with some fluff convo on the way back since handholding after a heart attack makes him somehow romantic.
It went too quiet ngl. At least on the next trip a genestealer chase happened in the upper districts, but I was mostly watching. Planets are more fun.
Pasqal isn't making decisions for the entire team, unfortunately, unlike the machine spirit operator. That trip showed me that char ai can't really handle multiple characters being present in the story properly.

Okay so I'm in chapter 3, I get all those debuffs like Stolen Time and Unholy Flesh and I start wondering how I can possibly get them removed.
Then I get into a fight with that time snake or whatever it was, it kills both Abelard and Pascal because it's blatantly fricking cheating and then at the end of the combat I notice that both of them no longer have those debuffs, just regular injuries.
What the frick?

Well I just had them both removed by having them die in combat. Now Abelard has brain damage and Pascal has broken ribs but at least I can remove those automatically eventually.

I find it funny how the quality of the game dropped as soon as I hit chapter 3. I get into Commorragh, I clip through the floor in the mangled sector, there's a guy T-posing inside the wall of the Anatomical Opera and the doors to it clip into the wall as they open.

I'm about to boot this game up for the first time but am a bit overwhelmed by the character create. Any suggestions for a rough outline of a main character build? I find Psyker or Noble the most appealing backgrounds, but I'm open to other suggestions if they sound interesting.
Your character doesn't matter, Argenta will kill everything for you within 2 turns anyway.

Disliked the first half of it, really hated the being forced to frick up and being captured, and is pretty stupid that you lose your gear but not your cargo.

I got lucky since my run was dogmatic. In any case, Helmet will inflate your psy rating, there is a feat that decrease the cost of some buffs by -1 AP and an accessory that further decreases by -1ap in the first turn... All your actions on the first turn get this buff. There is another acessory that gives you attacks equal psy rating... on the first turn. There is another feat that you get 25% chance of refunding your psyker powers ap cost. Even if you cast them for 0 ap (like you were doing) you can be refunded 2 ap.
I also used the cape that increased my critical chance by 5% on kill.
You notice where I'm going? alternating between force sword and staff attacks also counts for archmilitant stacks.
And then you can invoke the Blade of light later and just do insane damage, just beware that it does frick the veil.

there are no bad builds in this game. you can take whatever and you will still rock. Tell us what you want your character to do in combat. And don't listen to homosexuals who tell you to just use argenta/cassia. that's a surefire way to stop enjoying the game. use whomever you want. each and every character is more than viable and capable of carrying your ass
I'm usually most interested in the main character being the party face, which seems fitting for a rogue trader, but I also don't want to be useless in combat if that's possible.
ok, what do you want to do in combat? Noble may fit the party feace archetype, but any of the backgrounds fit too since they are all high ranking members of their respective walks of life. If you want to carry that same theme into combat, then Officer is perhaps the archetype you should be starting with. It's all about giving orders and buffing your allies, but can also spec into dd later
Noble's unique skills sound amusing, so probably a more ranged focused character.

Rogue Trader needs more enemy variety. Jumping into Chaos Gate after playing it makes me realize that. This game seriously needs more daemon engines and daemons. Most of the rando encounters are only against cultists and lesser daemons.
